Illegal Alien Supporters Protest Obama?

I think the illegal aliens and their supporters need to get some better talking points. I have seen stories on this day of protests all day and in each of them I have found something to make you go ummm in the arguments they are making to argue against America's immigration policies.

First was one out of Los Angeles with this little snippet. In Los Angeles they were decrying a program called Secure Communities. It is a program which allows immigration authorities access to fingerprint records. Now I know what you are saying, you mean they weren't already 10 years after 9/11? Well no, not until the last couple of years.
An ongoing source of debate is who is getting identified through this fingerprint sharing. Since 2008, about 121,000 immigrants have been deported after being flagged under Secure Communities, ICE statistics show.

About 6 percent had no prior record with immigration officials or law enforcement; roughly 28 percent had no criminal history, the statistics show.

If I am interpreting that little piece of information correctly that would mean 72% DO have a criminal history.

In Atlanta about a dozen showed up, which was a good indication that Georgia's recently enacted immigration laws were having the desired effect.
They are upset that his administration has deported more than one-million illegal immigrants since he took office in 2009, which they called a record.

He may very well wind up regretting the loss of all those votes.

And finally a spokesman for President Downgrade released a statement to the press, which of course blamed the Republicans.
"The President remains committed to fixing our broken immigration system," it said, going on to attack GOP Presidential candidates and Republicans in Congress for being opposed to "a comprehensive solution".

The Obama campaign statement said, "criminal deportations have increased over 70% while non-criminal deportations have significantly decreased as a result."

Notice however how they make that distinction between criminal and non-criminal deportations. What part of illegal immigrant don't they understand?

So either they are finding far more illegals have criminal backgrounds, reinforcing what had always been for the most part anecdotal evidence or states like Arizona and Georgia have somehow forced the feds to enforce their laws.

It is also pretty apparent that TOTUS' campaign folks have decided they have gotten all the mileage they can out of blaming Bush and now are simply targeting the larger Republican party as a whole.

Illegal Immigrant Kids Stage Protest, Get Their Wish

So a bunch of immigrants congregated at the Georgia state capitol today, some of them were in this country illegally, to protest the recently passed immigration legislation, and some of them got their wish. They got arrested.

A lot of news organizations are no doubt going to pick up on this because of the age of those arrested, they were minors. Here is what they aren't going to tell you. Those folks went with the express intent to get arrested. You see they are being led down this little primrose path that somehow their actions are noble and equivalent to the civil rights protests of the 60's.
The six undocumented immigrants were arrested at the intersection of Martin Luther King Drive and Washington streets in downtown Atlanta after the rally at the Capitol, said Georgia State Patrol spokesman Gordy Wright. They were blocking the intersection by sitting in the roadway and refusing to disperse, he stated.

The three adults are being transferred to Fulton County Jail. They are Dulce Guerrero, an 18-year-old recent graduate from Pebblebrook High School and 18-year-old Jessica Vasquez, who will be attending Pebblebrook this fall. The other adult is Felipe Baeza, age 24, from New York.

The juveniles, two females and one male all age 16, are being released to their parents with copies of the charges for Juvenile Court proceedings.

I wish to call your attention to the high school mentioned because you see it is the same one my daughter attended and well you know how kids talk. In total there were 6 kids from Pebblebrook who attended, all illegals so I suspect that the juveniles whose names were withheld are from Pebblebrook. They started cooking up this little scheme a while back and emboldened by the success of a Kennesaw State student, who in wake of her arrest for driving without a license along with some other traffic violations and lying to the police was allowed to stay in the country by liberal judge and in fact is still a student at said university.

Pebblebrook H.S. fancies themselves as some sort of cutting edge illegal immigrant group. Just before school was out for the summer they staged a walk out by the students, what in my day would have been called senior skip day, to show their dissatisfaction with the passage of the illegal immigrant legislation. Once again they may feel good about themselves and they really are being led around by the nose by the illegal immigrant crowd but that little stunt was nothing more then kids looking forward to summer break and were bored.

They are betting that nothing will happen since the plan by illegal immigrant crowd is to make them martyrs, and right now I wouldn't bet against them no matter what the state wants to do. We already know that instructions have gone out from the federal immigration folks to go easy on those in this country illegally who are in school, and besides it is all about the children after all.

This will wind up being a pop test of not only states immigration laws but a good discovery phase of just how much support the states can expect to get from the federal government in enforcing their laws. It is time for ICE and DHS to decide just who they are sworn to protect and serve.

UPDATE: Remember when I said that it would probably be determined that the others who got arrested would be from Pebblebrook H.S.?
Nataly and her four other Pebblebrook classmates, Leeidy Solis and Rolando Zenteno, both 16, Dulce Guerrero and Jessica Vasquez, both 18, were training over the last couple of days for Tuesday’s protest with 24-year-old Felipe Baeza from New York.

They rehearsed their speeches about how they immigrated to the United States at very young ages with their families.

Deport 'em and then have ICE show up on the first day of school and clean out the rest of them that are using up my taxes to fund their vacation in America. Send them home.

Open Borders Leads to Concentration Camp Style Transportation

This is the side of the illegal immigration issue that it's defenders don't want you to see. Some people would say this falls into the category of unintended consequences, but to me it is just an expected result of allowing anybody and everybody into our country. These folks never got that chance since they were caught at the southern Mexican border, and notice that those involved in the transportation of these illegals were sent to a Mexican maximum security prison. None of this waiting on a court to determine their status or wrangling over their good intentions.
Each year, hundreds of thousands of illegal migrants cross Mexico's southern border on their way to the United States. They are often smuggled in brutal conditions, packed tightly inside tractor trailers on long journeys. They are subject to robbery, extortion and kidnapping along the way.

Loa, a 23-year-old from El Salvador, was among the migrants detained Sunday. He was prohibited by immigration authorities from giving his last name.

Visibly haggard, Loa was buying a meat-filled sandwich passed to him through prison bars from a street vendor.

"It was very hot and we had no water," he told The Associated Press about his trek, which began Friday. His plan had been to reach Los Angeles.
According to the United Nations the business of bringing illegals to America is a $6 billion dollar a year business.

So all you bleeding heart liberals you need to take ownership of this also for fostering a climate that enables the smugglers to thrive and for setting the conditions which make these people want to engage in this sort of behavior. Maybe your time, money and efforts would be better spent trying to get the countries south of the border to develop halfway decent business climates in those countries so these people would not be subjected to such risks.
In May, 513 people were apprehended in two trailers in Chiapas, bordering Guatemala. They represented a cargo worth at least $3.5 million. Another trailer filled with 219 people was discovered in January.
Wait, on second thought, never mind. After what liberals have been able to do to our economy and fostering such a hate filled anti-business climate in this country these people would be better off without anymore liberal help.

Alabama Joins Georgia In Passing Tough Illegal Immigration Law

While the recently passed, but not yet implemented legislation in Georgia which targets the issue of illegal immigrants is having it's desired effect, their neighbors to the west have also quietly passed their own version, in essence telling the illegals to keep moving.

What gets lost in all the hyperventilating over states passing these measures is the real reason the pro illegal immigrant community is so upset and filing law suits to stop them. It is the realization that while these laws are merely for the most part mimicking already standing federal laws, the states mean to follow through with the enforcement part. Illegals laugh at the DHS and ICE since they have come to realize that political correctness has hobbled the agencies into paralysis.

In Georgia there has been a howl of protests from farmers who are suddenly finding themselves without a work force this year, but maybe, just maybe if some of those unemployed citizens really want to work they should contact these farmers. I am not going to deny that the work is hard especially in the hot weather we have but it all boils down to how serious a person is about providing for their family through a honest days work or if they are content to continue sitting at home drawing that government check each month. There is a large pool of out of work young people this year thanks to Obamanomics and if you can pry them away from their gaming consoles they could fill this shortfall.

Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (D-Marblemouth): Loony GOP Wants to Criminalize Illegal Immigration, Or Something

So either you support illegal immigration, or you're a xenophobic right-wing Neanderthal.

That's the official Democrat position on the issue, in a nutshell.

Steers, Queers, and Illegals

Georgia recently passed an illegal immigration bill patterned after the one passed in Arizona, and in doing so has inspired other states to also start passing legislation to do what the federal government won't do. There are a ton of laws on the books at the federal level that they simply have chosen not to enforce, forcing states to take action. A surprising fact to most people is that Georgia is actually second in the nation in the number of illegal aliens. Before the state took action, a couple of counties within the state had already taken action, which helped to push the legislation through the state house.

Now that Governor Deal has signed it into law, there are the supporters of illegal immigrants that have now decided to get very bold and in your face with their defiance of not only state laws but federal laws as well. A movement has been created to create sanctuary places for the illegals to gather. Going over the list of places it seems as if the militant gay community has teamed up with the La Raza types to spearhead this action. A list of these businesses and establishments participating in this overt illegal act is here

Consider this a public service for residents of metro Atlanta, who if they ever did business or frequented these places, may want to rethink that. Who knows, maybe this will be good for business but I would certainly hope some incompetent butt-kissing boob at the Department of Homeland InSecurity might want to take this opportunity to score some points with the boss and schedule some visits. This should certainly make the job easier, since they apparently are not concerned with staying in the shadows like so many liberals like to espouse.

Remember when folks committing illegal acts tried to avoid the spotlight? Hell, nowadays they give interviews, post details on the internet and just basically give a big middle-finger salute to the law enforcement community telling them that the law doesn't mean squat to them. I tend to get a little steamed when folks laugh in my face, especially when they are laughing at me and not with me.

UPDATE: The US Supreme Court has just upheld that portion of the Arizona law that requires employers to use the federal gov't E-Verify system, which is also a key component of the Georgia law.
"Arizona has taken the route least likely to cause tension with federal law," wrote Chief Justice John Roberts. "It relies solely on the federal government's own determination of who is an unauthorized alien, and it requires Arizona employers to use the federal government's own system for checking employee status."

Oh, thanks to former president George W. Bush for appointing Justice Roberts to the court.

Half Million Dollars in Tax Refunds to Illegal Aliens

If you are among the 43% of Americans who actually pay taxes you will be glad to know that the IRS and the federal government is closely monitoring how each penny of that money is being spent.

Okay, okay, calm down and clean off your computer screen. Of course they aren't. Here is just one example of where a half million of your dollars went.
The FBI seized $500,000 in cash during a raid of an illegal immigrant's home as part of an investigation into false tax filings, agents said.

Federal agents and Hall County deputies arrested 34-year old Guillermo Merino on Friday after a traffic stop in Gainesville.

Investigators told Channel 2's Richard Elliot they found more than $50,000 in his car. Afterward, they searched his house and said they discovered more than $450,000 in cash inside the home. According to agents, they seized a total of $540,000.
A couple of points I want to make in regards to this case. One it wasn't the IRS, the Treasury Department, or any other law enforcement generally associated with either tax law or immigration that was involved in this seizure. In fact, you have to feel just a little bit lucky that this happened in one of the few areas of the country where local law enforcement is allowed to check the immigration status of people they detain for law violations. In case you didn't catch it in the snippet above, a stop for a traffic violation is what set this whole series of events into motion.

The other point is that here is a very tangible example of how illegal immigrants costs us all without having to hypothesize on how much of the expense is due to illegals using public services.

The last point is this is just one case. I am sure if this guy figured it out there are several others who have also, which begs the question of how much money is leaving our treasury directly to pay these fraudulent refunds?

Make Room Arizona, Here Comes Georgia

The legislature in Georgia has passed an illegal immigration bill which people are comparing to the one in Arizona, and of course along with it comes all of the fear filled rhetoric revolving around a state that dares to enforce federal regulations. The governor still needs to sign it into law, but since Governor Deal was a staunch advocate on immigration issues while a member of congress I would be shocked if he didn't sign it into law.

So just what does this new law do? For one it makes employers with 10 or more employees use the federal governments E-Verify system to check citizenship status. Critics of course argue that the multi million dollar taxpayer funded system is unreliable and imposes a burden on the employers. The same critics however seem to be quite fine with legislation in regards to healthcare, environmental issues and energy policy. Nope no double standard there. Whereas they find none of those to be invasive or a burden on businesses, spending 2 minutes to access a database utilizing government supplied software somehow is.

So what else is in the bill?
• Empower local and state police to arrest illegal immigrants and transport them to state and federal jails;

• Punish people who use fake identification to get a job in Georgia with up to 15 years in prison and up to $250,000 in fines;

• Penalize people who – while committing another crime -- knowingly transport or harbor illegal immigrants or encourages them to come to Georgia. First-time offenders would face imprisonment for up to 12 months and up to $1,000 in fines;

• Establish a seven-member Immigration Enforcement Review Board to investigate complaints about local and state government officials not enforcing state immigration-related laws;

• Directs the state Agriculture Department to study the possibility of creating Georgia’s own guest worker program. Some Georgia employers have complained the federal government’s guest worker program is too burdensome and expensive.

The most curious item for me is the set up of a review board to investigate local and state government officials who DON'T enforce the law.

Finally, of course critics are promising Armageddon upon the state in the way of boycotts and lawsuits. One wonders what is going to happen when they run out of states to boycott.

Oh BTW a word of advice to our neighbors. Expect a sudden influx of folks with a southern accent. South American that is.

Incompetence Doesn't Begin To Describe It

This report put together by a television station in Atlanta about how terrorists are indeed crossing out southern border should give everybody pause, no matter what Janet Nincompoop and her clown car full of Homeland InSecurity folks tell us.

In the meantime, Eric Holder and his socialist pals at the DoJ want to keep dragging Arizona through the courts to curry political favor from the Hispanic community. Here is a hint 'ya idjits, terrorists don't check voter registration cards prior to becoming part of the Red Spray Brigade.

Not Illegal, Just Unauthorized

That is how the Pew Research characterizes illegal aliens. No doubt the Obama administration will take these numbers as an affirmation that thier immigration policies are the correct ones and tout them to the high heavens while ignoring thee real reason people ain't all that eager to come to America anymore.
The annual inflow of unauthorized immigrants to the United States was nearly two-thirds smaller in the March 2007 to March 2009 period than it had been from March 2000 to March 2005, according to new estimates by the Pew Hispanic Center.

What would make a person given a choice between living with the drug war violence in Mexico and pursuing what we used to call the American Dream decide to stick with the drug warlords? There is no more American Dream. If you work hard to succeed Barry wants to take it away from you to make it fair. If you are in a position to put others to work to pursue their dream they want to crush you with all sorts of mandates, taxes, and regulations to ensure that the only ones who have a job are lawyers who can sort through the crap only to wind up telling you you are better off shuttering the windows and locking the doors and walking away while you can.

Unless the Republicans start stepping up the talk of undoing all of these misguided programs being imposed on us by this administration they are going to lose their momentum in the upcoming election. I have no doubt the Americans are going to put Republicans back in power for no other reason then to try and put roadblock to all the schemes of the very far left wing of the Democrats who have seized power, but if they don't start talking about undoing the damage, not merely trying to mitigate it, then in 2012 they could very well see their fortunes go sour.

I have been a strong anti-incumbent guy this election cycle because I firmly believe that the entrenched political elites on both sides have grown too accustomed to the lifestyle they enjoy inside the Beltway and I feel fresh blood is what is needed. Too many of our elected officials still revel in the glory of the Greatest Generation, and while that is laudable, it is time to come to the 21st century and start basing policy on the realities of this time in history rather then dwelling on what happened 70 years ago. That means Social Security can no longer be off limits. The average working person doesn't believe it will be around for them anyway.

Gee I sort of got off on a rant didn't I? It is just when I see the American Dream being destroyed I take it personally. I have worked damned hard since I was about 13 years old and had a paper route, yeah remember them, until today, all with the intent to make life for my children better and to create the opportunities for them and leave it up to them what they do with those opportunities. The current mindset seems to be to put you in a box, convince you that the government knows best so put away your silly dreams and accept all your subsistence from those who know better. Step out of the box, achieve too much and they will squash you. You are no longer responsible for your success or failure, the government will decide what is fair for you and you will accept it and live with it. Or die with it depending on what some bureaucrat decides is best.

Just so you don't think I am trying to make the case for illegal immigrants I ain't. I am just trying to make the point that people no longer are motivated to come to this country to try and improve their station in life. You want to come to this country fine and dandy. Sign the guest book and obey the laws. I would be curious if Pew also saw a decline in legal immigration.
Heckuva a job Barry.

Gaddafi Resurrects Barbary Pirates Tactics

This sounds like a resurgence of the golden days of the Barbary Coast pirates. Libya's grand leader follows up his handing out of Korans after getting off his jet in Italy with an extortion demand to Europe.
Libyan leader Col Muammar Gaddafi says the EU should pay Libya at least 5bn euros (£4bn; $6.3bn) a year to stop illegal African immigration and avoid a "black Europe".

Speaking on a visit to Italy, Col Gaddafi said Europe "could turn into Africa" as "there are millions of Africans who want to come in".

This is exactly the kind of protection money that Europeans and Americans were forced to pay in the 18th and 19th century to Libya until Thomas Jefferson said enough is enough and built a real Navy with some good Marines and solved the problem.
Now you know where the line "to the shores of Tripoli" in Marine Corps Hymn comes from.

It seems that Italy has ruffled some feathers by *gasp* enforcing their immigration laws. I guess we can expect our State Department to immediately report them to the United Nations Human Rights Council much the same as they did Arizona.
Italy has drawn criticism for handing over to Libya migrants it intercepts at sea, without screening them first.

Far fewer now reach Italy from Libya.

European Commission figures show that in 2009 the number of people caught trying to enter Italy illegally fell to 7,300, from 32,052 in 2008. The data was collected under the EU's Eurodac fingerprinting system.

Wow who knew that deporting people trying to enter your country illegally could have such a positive effect?

I wonder what is prompting such a rise in Qadaffi's craziness? Maybe he senses that he friends in low, er high places.

9th Circuit Rules Life Not Worth Much

The Ninth Circus Court has once again made a crazy ruling that can only be interpreted as them saying human life isn't worth much. A coyote, a human smuggler, while attempting to flee the Border Patrol in an SUV loaded with up to 20 illegals, crashed resulting in the deaths of 10 of the illegals, including a pregnant teenager. The case was tried in Arizona and the man was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison. Well the 9th Circuit feels that is just too high a price for killing 10 people.
In a decision filed Tuesday, the 9th Circuit affirmed Pineda-Doval's conviction but vacated his life sentence and sent the case back to the Arizona court for re-sentencing.

One has to wonder how much of this decision was based more on the fact that this case originated in Arizona then it did any of the legal mumbo jumbo they use to justify their decision. Note they didn't overturn the conviction just the sentence. I guess maybe we should put the guy up in a condo with all amenities paid for by the taxpayers.

Just once I would like to see one of these rulings, whether it was the decision on Prop 8, the Arizona immigration law or any other high profile case, contain what these esteemed legal geniuses would propose as an alternative. It seems to be awful easy to overturn something without giving any kind of guidance to the parties of what changes need to be made to make the law conform to their view.

Even without the act of malice that they cite, do they think that the killing of 10 people does not deserve a life sentence?

For all you illegal alien sympathizers, this is the cost of your namby-pamby, feel good approach that puts the blood on your hands. The things liberals love the most, drugs and allowing everybody to suck off the teat of the American taxpayer results in nothing but heartache, and often death for those south of the border. I wonder how many Mexicans will die as a result of Obamacare?

While The DOJ Pursues Lawsuits Against Arizona...

Georgia law enforcement has struck another blow against the illegal immigrant trade, this time by busting a counterfeiting ring which was producing drivers licenses, social security cards and other documents. The Social Security numbers being used were legitimate numbers of real citizens.
Cherokee County Sheriff’s investigators arrested Virginio Josue Jeronimo-Mejia, 23; Edilzar David Jeronimo-Diaz, 34; Marcos Juan Baltazar-Pedro, 32; and Sebastian Simon-Manuel, 32; Wednesday after searching their home at 104 Alexander Street.

All four were charged with multiple counts of second-degree forgery.

Diaz also was charged with driving without a license.

Authorities searched the home after a June 2 investigation of an apartment in Woodstock where they found counterfeit driver’s licenses, Social Security cards and Resident Alien cards that were being made.

At the Canton home, investigators said they found computers, printers, $400 in cash and counterfeit documents.

They also said they found letters from the Social Security Administration that were mailed to the Alexander Street address. Investigators said those letters indicate that some of the Social Security numbers on the counterfeit cards belong to actual United States citizens.

It is just another in a long string of victories in the battle against illegal aliens, all done without federal cooperation or involvement. More and more states need to wake up to the fact that it is going to rest upon them to fight this scourge. While liberals and our Imperial Federal Department of Justice and Homeland Security can take delight in attacking the sovereign state of Arizona for wanting to slow down the problem, it is painfully obvious to anybody not in an Obama induced stupor that more must be done and states and local governments need to go ahead and put on their big boy pants and 'Git 'er done'.

So while the Washington DC political elite can't hear or see anything outside of the beltway we continue to get stories of sections of our country now under the control of the Mexican drug lords and organized crime families that rival anything done by La Cosa Nostra or during the Roaring 20's and 30's by guys like Capone, another notorious Chicago gangster.

Do Educators Have A Problem With Reading Comprehension?

"Illegal immigrants who are students cannot be classified as Georgia residents," Newsome said. "They can still enroll, but they must pay out-of-state tuition."

That is the statement from the lawyer for the Board of Regents, the governing body of Georgia's colleges and universities.

Using the Regents circular logic why don't they just say that there is no reason a pedophile shouldn't be granted a day care license? Grand theft auto conviction? No problem, I'm sure a rent a car company would be jumping at the chance to hire you.

You see guys it is that first word, illegal, that is at the crux of the issue here. Illegal activity is supposed to be reported, not condoned. I am waiting for the day when some of these educated eggheads are charged with conspiracy or aiding and abetting this type of illegal activity. They will prosecute a pawn shop owner who traffics in stolen goods but they won't go after people who willfully assist in allowing the theft of taxpayer dollars and defrauding the state.

There is no moral high ground here. Stop the rationalization and start obeying the law. Academia is not above the law, no matter how much they feel like some Greek gods ruling from on high from Olympus.

This seems like some weird perversion of a 'Godfather' movie with Don Corleone holding a press conference and telling the world that sure he engaged in blackmail, extortion, money laundering and an occasional contract killing but it's all good cause all those folks deserved it.

We are supposed to be a nation of laws, with nobody being above the law.

So tell me oh great gods of Regents, what other laws are we allowed to just ignore?

Help Wanted: Construction Job - New Opening

That is the good news.
An American citizen said she is worried about her husband, who came into the United States illegally. He is sitting in a local jail after being caught fishing without a license.

Josue Castro, 25, is newly married and was living the American dream with one glaring problem -- he is not an American citizen.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Beatriz Castro said her husband sends money home to his family in Honduras and is active in their church. She said he holds a steady construction job.

That should say held a steady construction job. Nothing to see here. He was just doing a job real Americans don't want. Even in a state with 10.4% unemployment. Can't think of anyone who is a legal citizen who might want that job. Nope. Not any of those recent grads who face the worst employment conditions in 41 years. I bet none of those young African Americans, which some studies show have an unemployment rate reaching 20% want the job.

He had been arrested 5 years ago for trying to enter the country illegally, which begs the question, did this employer bother to check his immigration status prior to hiring him? How culpable is this women in hiding him from authorities? Shouldn't she be charged? Instead she gets on the television to plead her case rather then worrying about being charged herself with helping to violate this country's immigration laws. If she wants to be with him so much, if they deport him she is free to leave the country and join him in his homeland.

This is the reality of the broken immigration system in this country and woefully inadequate response from any federal agency.

It's On: Law Enforcement Versus Academia

To hell with Arizona, we have our own little immigration battle shaping up in Georgia.

On the one side, academia. A group which knows nothing of the real world and exist in their own little bubble in the Halls of Education, allied with the open borders liberals.

On the other, law enforcement and pretty much the 75% of the country who managed to move on away from the security blanket of school and engage in life.

Most people probably have at least a passing knowledge of the case in Georgia involving a Kennesaw State University student who was discovered to be in this country illegally after being stopped for a traffic violation and giving law enforcement false information.

Well a lawsuit has now been filed asking for an investigation into the University System of Georgia to determine just how pervasive the problem of colleges ignoring state and federal immigration laws is.
Sheriff Neil Warren is calling for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to probe the University System of Georgia's governing body, the Board of Regents, for possibly violating the law by admitting illegal immigrants into the state's universities.

Anti-illegal immigration activist D.A. King filed a complaint on May 19 with the GBI and Immigration and Customs Enforcement, then asked Warren to assist in the matter.

In a letter dated June 4, Warren referred to King's complaint, stating that the Board of Regents is in violation of state and federal laws, which prohibit state universities from admitting illegal immigrants.

"O.C.G.A. 50-3601(c)(7) requires compliance with 8 U.S.C. 1621 which provides that aliens not legally in the United States are ineligible for certain State or local benefits, including postsecondary education," Warren writes in his letter to GBI Director Vernon Keenan.

Academics love to engage in debate. They aren't too big into action, which is really at the crux of the situation in Arizona. All those eggheads are actually afraid that some action may take place instead of merely passing feel good legislation and engaging in endless studies and debate. Well I hope they get to debate their case for ignoring the law in front of a judge. Depending on who the judge is of course, and the ACLU and their associated minions are very good at shopping around for a sympathetic judge, it will be fun to watch these guardians of the Ivy Halls of Edumakation explain a dozen different ways why laws only apply to the little people and they are not the little people.

On the other hand they will probably just use the lawsuit as another excuse to raise tuition.

Those Poor, Poor Illegal Immigrant Students

A lot of attention has been given lately to the plight of students who are the offspring of illegal aliens, therefore making them illegal aliens also, and I ain't talking about those anchor baby cases. Well, here we have a case of one of those nice law abiding illegals taking up a class seat, and now a jail cell, that real Americans I guess don't want.

The suspect in this case thought it would fun to throw a bleach filled balloon at another kid walking down the street from a moving vehicle.

The result is the balloon hit the kid in the face and blinded him.
But Juan Carlos Flores remains in jail due to a possible immigration violation, according to jail records.

Flores, a Meadowcreek High School student, has been charged with aggravated battery for throwing the balloon at 14-year-old Miguel Mesa on the last day of school. Flores was one of four students in a van when the incident took place, but he is the only one being charged as an adult, due to his age.
Ever since the story first broke I have been keeping an eye out on the coverage because of the people involved. Yeah, yeah, call it racial profiling. Whatever. I was not disappointed, however.

You see, Gwinnett County is one of four counties in Georgia who have the ability to ask for and determine the immigration status of people they arrest. You know, just like Arizona wants to do.

The other is Cobb County, which, of course, brought to light the case of the college student who once pulled over for a traffic violation it was determined that she too was in the country illegally.

Funny how these work out. Not funny ha-ha, but funny in that way that only leads one to suspect the motives of those who are so adamantly against enforcement of our immigration laws.

I wonder if our upstanding U.S. Attorney General is going to rush to the defense of these people with the same zeal that he is pursuing lawsuits against Arizona. Note to Mr. Holder: Cobb and Gwinnett counties are merely enforcing existing federal law.

Look it up.

On a related note arrests for driving without a license have plummeted in certain counties. See if you can guess which ones before clicking the link and read what law enforcement says could be a contributing factor.

So, Who Won The Game?

Seems the adults in this country need to grow a little thicker skin. Some kids at a high school in Nebraska have been suspended over an incident in which green cards were found on a soccer field, which was the site of championship game. One of the schools in the game has a predominately Hispanic population.
Several Lincoln East High School students have been suspended for making or distributing "green cards" thrown onto the field following the high school championship soccer game.

The cards were directed at Lincoln East's rival in the Tuesday night game, Omaha South High School. Sixty percent of Omaha South's students are Latino, and the green cards were an apparent reference to immigration status.

Folks, I played soccer for many, many years, starting in high school. If I was in a championship game I would look for anything to give me an edge over the competition. If I thought sprinkling green cards on the ground would get into the head of the opponent, then that field would be so pretty and green it would make the blue grass of Boise State jealous.

Just a little more information for those not familiar with soccer there is a carding system for infractions. A yellow card is administered for a minor violation of the rules and is basically a warning. A couple of them and you can be ejected from the game. A red card is an immediate ejection. Once ejected from a soccer game your team must play short handed the remainder of the game. So it is with a nod to this card system along with the current broo haha over illegal aliens that led the students to play this prank.

So I really want to know. Who won? Did this stunt sufficiently unnerve the other team and lead to their defeat or did they prevail in spite of it?

How Many Illegals Are In Your College?

Hey, La Raza, lookee here.

I have been following this story with interest in light of all the heat the state of Arizona has been taking over their recent passage of legislation to allow them to verify the status of people they catch in the act of committing an unrelated illegal act.

You see, in Cobb County, Georgia they have been able to do this for over a year, after the sheriff's department underwent training from ICE. The program is called Federal Program 287(g). Yes, there actually is a federal law which Arizona merely mirrored. In Cobb County, they have put it into practice with good effect.

This story revolves around a young lady who is a student a Kennesaw State University and was pulled over recently for a traffic violation. She was unable to produce a driver's license. She did have an expired Mexican passport and for that reason she was detained until her status could be determined. It was discovered that she was indeed in the country illegally, but a judge gave her a one year reprieve on deportation so she could finish her college education.

What a deal. Well, now the police want her back for lying to them in interviews and supplying false information on forms. The young lady has gone missing now, shortly after this report was filed.

There is strong suspicion that the president of the university is aiding in hiding her. If those suspicions turn into reality I hope he learns a hard lesson in how nobody is above the law.
University officials said she was admitted to KSU as a state resident because she had graduated from a Georgia high school. Undocumented aliens can attend Georgia colleges but they must pay out-of-state tuition, officials said.

Friends said Colotl had two semesters remaining before she receives a degree in political science. Colotl worked at night to earn money for college, according to friends. She was planning to study law after finishing at KSU.

Papp [ed.- the KSU President] advocated for Colotl based on her involvement at KSU. He asked ICE to put off deporting her.

Papp has said, however, that Colotl will now be billed as an out-of-state student.
You caught that didn't you? Illegal aliens are allowed to attend universities in Georgia provided they pay the out of state tuition. Admit it, Big Education, you are all about the money.
Chancellor Erroll Davis said the University System of Georgia follows the law as it pertains to undocumented students: Students are required to indicate on admissions applications whether or not they are citizens. Undocumented students may still enroll but must pay out-of-state tuition, which can be three times as much as in-state. Colotl was admitted before this law was in place, Davis said.
So people admit to being in the country illegally, in violation of the laws of this nation, and the university system simply ignores it so that they can charge the higher tuition fees?

A lot of attention is given to employers who hire illegals; well, what about looking at our schools? There are different degrees of illegal activity, but illegal is illegal. Obviously somebody who shoplifts a pack of gum should be punished differently then someone who shoplifts thousand dollar gowns, but both deserve prosecution and they both violated the same law.

How many American citizens could be allowed the chance to attend college if the seats were not taken by illegals? Academia for too long has felt like they were above the law, while at the same time imposing some of the most idiotic punishments under the guise of their Zero Tolerance policies. Nice to see which acts they pursue ruthlessly, like wearing clothing with the American flag on it, and which ones they simply ignore.

What they want to do in Arizona is no different then what this program is. It doesn't allow the police to just randomly walk up to people and ask for their papers. Arizona is simply trying to obey federal law and for that we have limp-wristed panty-waists all over the country wetting themselves and working themselves into a froth, with the latest being a high school in Chicago canceling a trip for their girl's basketball team to Arizona.

For those in academia, there is a backlash coming and you are going to reap the whirlwind you have created.

Updated with an exit question. Dear Mr. University Guy, since when has it ever been okay to be in this country illegally? Trying to obfuscate by saying they must declare whether they are a citizen or not with the term undocumented doesn't fly. Even people in this country who are not citizens have documents to prove their status. For Mr. Davis to be head of the University System he sure seems less then bright when it comes to telling the difference.

Reconquista Starts In Arizona

A noted racist group which operates under the umbrella name of La Raza, "The Race" is currently hard at work organizing a boycott of Arizona. La Raza is made up of several other organizations, most of which have avowed racist agendas and because they are wrapping themselves in self indulgent and deluded symbols of the anti illegal immigrant movement have been able to dupe and involve many legitimate organizations into supporting their cause.

People need to become aware of just who this organization is that is promoting the Arizona bashing and they need to quit being so politically correct that they are afraid to identify just what this organization is and what their ultimate goal is.

The late Rep. Charlie Norwood from Georgia wrote an article in 2006 for Human Events which explained just who and what this group is up to. Among the stated goals of one of the organizations under the La Raza umbrella is Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan, or Chicano Student Movement of Aztlan (MEChA) is:
"Chicano is our identity; it defines who we are as people. It rejects the notion that we...should assimilate into the Anglo-American melting pot...Aztlan was the legendary homeland of the Aztecas ... It became synonymous with the vast territories of the Southwest, brutally stolen from a Mexican people marginalized and betrayed by the hostile custodians of the Manifest Destiny."

Substitute the word white in their motto and see what sort of reaction you would get. Their two sentence motto is:
For La Raza todo. Fuera de La Raza nada."

It means: "For The Race everything. Outside The Race, nothing."

The ultimate objective of this group is something they call the Reconquista, the Reconquest. They believe that the southwestern portions of the United States were stolen from them and they are dedicated to reclaiming it.

This group now sees a prime opportunity to advance their agenda and they are doing it by labeling their opponents as the very thing they publicly proclaim themselves to be. Legitimate organizations might want to slow down jumping on the bandwagon and spend a little more time identifying the players in this drama.

Too many uninformed and ill informed citizens are being swept along for the ride, to no small degree because of the lack of journalistic principles. Evidence of this lack of courage can be found in the article I linked to above from the Washington Post where they describe La Raza as simply the largest Hispanic civil rights group in the country, just like CAIR is a supposed civil rights organization for Muslims.

You also don't need to look very deep to find out the influence of the real muscle on the liberal side, SEIU.
"We take no pleasure in calling for a boycott, but we feel there is no alternative," said Eliseo Medina, executive vice president of the Service Employees International Union. "Any adverse impacts in the short term are outweighed by the long-term benefits of stamping out discrimination."

It seems lately that the only thing the SEIU does is organizes protests, whether it is on Wall St. or the health insurance industry. When it comes to crippling this country economically, you find SEIU.

For those who only see anything and everything labeled American as being evil, they will certainly find themselves at home with the La Raza crowd, and just like other similar organizations such as ACORN and CAIR, they have been able to fly under the radar and obtain credibility due to the lack of moral courage of the media and elected officials.

There has never been any doubt in my mind from day one that all of this outrage over Arizona simply enforcing the law has more to do with the fact that they actually intend to do something about illegal immigration and not just pay lip service to the problem, like so many politicians have done, so they could sleep at night and have a warm fuzzy feeling, never for once believing anybody would have the courage to actually take action.

I wish those in the sports world who are feeling pressure from these goons would take a few minutes to find out who the players are, and for the business community, you are being manipulated by the same organizations who at the drop of a hat will be on your doorstep making demands of you.

Michelle Malkin also did an in depth article about La Raza from a protest in 2006 in Washington D.C.
