Pelosi Calls In Her Marker

Nancy Pelosi has apparently called in the marker she had on Charlie Rangel for keeping him on as Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee.

House Ways & Means Committee Chairman Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.) held a hearing this morning to certify that H.R. 3200 -- the main House Obamacare bill which was the subject of all the town hall rage in August -- has met all requirements to pass as a “budget reconciliation” measure.

Under reconciliation, the bill can be passed by a simple majority vote in the Senate -- just 51 votes -- and will be given preferential treatment on the House floor as well. The Dems have apparently invoked the “nuclear option” to shut out Republicans and ensure the bill is passed before the end of the year.

The bill certified for “reconciliation” is the Ways & Means version of H.R. 3200 that was passed out of committee before the August break, and before it was read aloud at town hall meetings across the country and blasted by voters across the country.
It contains all of the horrors previously exposed: federal funding of abortion, coverage for illegal aliens, comparative effectiveness, healthcare rationing, deep cuts to Medicare. Everything the American people overwhelmingly reject.

Queen Nancy and her like minded progressives in congress seem hell bent on cramming this down our throats. Nancy probably doesn't have much to worry about, but for those congress critters who have constituents who don't go around in a constant drug induced stupor, this could cause trouble.

Of course all these different versions of these bills have to still be mashed together, but I think once it is done Frankenstein is going to be viewed as a beauty pageant winner in comparison. And this bill will be far more dangerous.

British Healthcare System On Life Support

Yes sir. I want a health care system modeled after the British system. Healthcare is so great and having the government oversee everything just makes everything hunky dory.

Almost half of hospitals fail to meet fully the core standards of care despite a decade of Government investment in the NHS, according to the health regulator’s annual report.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) warns today that more than 40 health trusts are at risk of being refused new licences to operate, which will be issued next April.

The report, an annual assessment of quality of care and financial management of NHS organisations, concludes that while there have been significant improvements in waiting times, tackling superbugs and controlling budgets, many trusts are still failing the basic requirements of good care.

Welllll okay so maybe the quality of care may suffer a little teeny tiny bit, but the cost have been reduced and the taxpayers are getting a good deal. Well maybe not.

The registration process risks embarrassing the Government, which has spent an extra £50 billion in real terms on the NHS in the past ten years. It will take place weeks before a general election, widely expected for May 6.

But our government is sooo much better then the one in the UK. Why look at all of our success stories, like the Post Office, Amtrak, the Senate cafeteria.

What is it going to take to convince those pinheads on Capitol Hill that we don't want a government takeover of our healthcare system, we just want to address the parts that don't work well. I personally don't want to go in to my doctors office and there is Madeline Albright with a rubber glove telling me to drop my pants, turn my head and cough.

Veteran's Warning On National Health Care

This is what health care looks like in a program administered by the national government. This is a report about the local VA clinic/hospital near me. The local station that I got the video from does not allow me to embed it, but please take a few minutes to go watch this report. I do not use VA facilities for this very reason, but rather use private health care options.

There is no reason to believe this type of situation would not be repeated all across this country if the plans the Democrats are trying to shove through become reality. Listen to the reasons cited in this report, they are many of the same reasons being given as reasons why the liberals plan is flawed and for many Americans could prove fatal.

I didn't watch Barry O's dog and pony show last night, since I figured it would be like all of his past performances and stage managed to the nth degree. Judging by the coverage this morning on the various news shows, I see some semi-pointed questions were asked but the answers were seriously lacking. It seems Barack's response basically boiled down to that of a 5 year old hollering "I want" at the top of his lungs in the toy department of a discount store, and it is up to the adults, i.e., the taxpayers in this country, to tell him no.

What You Didn't See From Green Bay Yesterday

Barry O took his show on the road once again yesterday, while his family continues to vacation in Europe on your dime, to promote his omnipotent healthcare plan.

Since I was working from home I got to see the campaign stop and while he was surrounded by his adoring fans inside, outside it was a different matter.
I wonder why we didn't see these, can you really call them protesters, who lined the road leading up to the venue?


Regarding that campaign stop, after Barry O talked about how seizing control of the healthcare system in this country was the single most important thing that needed to be addressed or else western civilization would cease to exist, using the same rhetoric and words that he used previously when talking about financial institutions, the automakers, and the housing market, just before he seized control of them also, he opened it up for questions from the crowd. He assured us that the people were not pre screened or pre selected, so I want to know why was it that all those who opposed his plan were on the outside?

There was the local teachers union member who did not have a question about healthcare at all, but rather used his opportunity to blast the No Child Left Behind policy and the unfairness of testing.

There was the guy who asked for a note for his daughter for school.

There was a woman who was a big fan of going to a single payer system.

There was NOT a single dissenting opinion or question, either from the people in attendance or the media.

Oh yeah and of course this trip was paid for with your tax dollars. You know after the President in Training Pants said last week that we were out of money.

Apparently the taxpayers and the country are out of money but the Obama's have tax payer funded credit card that has no spending limit on it.
