'If I Organized a Rally for a Stronger Law to Protect Puppies, I'd Get 100,000 People at That Rally'

More Tea Party Derangement Syndrome, courtesy of Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell. I'm not quite sure what planet this guy is living on if he thinks the Tea Parties are getting too much credit from the media.

However, Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell (D) earlier cast the Tea Party movement in a far different light. Also appearing during the roundtable, the former head of the Democratic National Committee said the media are giving "the Tea Party too much credit."

"If I organized a rally for a stronger law to protect puppies, I'd get 100,000 people at that rally," he said. "So I think the media has blown [the Tea Party] out of proportion."

Which begs the question: Why isn't Rendell doing enough to protect puppies?

Meanwhile, Rendell's successor at the DNC is apparently suffering from delusions.

Tea Parties may end up helping Democrats, Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine told 200 Organizing For America activists at an Ethiopian restaurant on Chicago’s North Side Wednesday night.

The Tea Party is built on “Anger politics - and the anger movements peter out,” said Kaine, a finalist for Obama’s vice-president.

Gaffe-tastic Biden Strikes Again

Your daily dose of comic relief from the bumbling Joe Biden. Just remember, it took one incident to make Dan Quayle a punchline for all time. This clown delivers on a daily basis.

Inside, Biden spoke 20 mins. Lots of applause. "I am not unaware of the controversy swirling around this dinner and swirling around the speed or lack thereof that we are moving on issues that are of great importance to you."

Boasted the new administration has appointed 60 gays or lesbians, including nine requiring Senate confirmation. Promised to "put some pace on the ball."

Standing ovations as he pledged to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act, Don't Ask Don't Tell and get passage of the Lieberman-Baldwin bill on health benefits.

Additionally, Biden promised to put a ban on workplace discrimination, get adoption rights for all and end the HIV travel ban.

Biden also praised Tim Kaine as the "great governor of New Jersey."
One problem: Tim Kaine's not governor of New Jersey.

Jon Corzine is governor of New Jersey (Remember, he didn't wear his seatbelt in the state patrol car for the big high-speed crash).

Tim Kaine is governor of another state, called Virginia.

He's also chairman of the Democratic National Committee.

Biden is from Delaware.

He used a Teleprompter.

Not quite sure how Biden is going to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act considering his boss supports it.

Tim Kaine: Smug Twerp

One of the dumbest issues to come along in some time is the question of how many houses John McCain owns. Apparently he's forgotten how many there are. Seems the class-warfare left is eager to play up McCain as some spoiled rich guy.

Whoop-de-damn-doo.

Now along comes Barack Obama's possible running mate, The Eyebrow, also known as Tim Kaine, to offer this classy remark.

Obama V.P. prospect and Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine mocked Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., on Thursday for not knowing exactly how many houses he owns.

"I understand that Sen. McCain was asked yesterday this question, 'how many houses do you own?,' and he couldn't answer that question. He couldn’t count high enough apparently to even know how many houses he owns," said Kaine.

What a schmuck. Seems an appropriate comment though for someone who might run with a guy who thinks there are 57 states. I'm sure the nutroots will be yukking it up and cracking some clever dementia jokes over this.

Wouls seem to me a guy who made the absurd statement that Obama helped bring a ceasefire between Russia and Georgia would know to keep a low profile. Better yet, maybe he can ask Obama why Tony Rezko bought him his house.

“Does a guy who made more than $4 million last year, just got back from vacation on a private beach in Hawaii and bought his own million-dollar mansion with the help of a convicted felon really want to get into a debate about houses? Does a guy who worries about the price of arugula and thinks regular people “cling” to guns and religion in the face of economic hardship really want to have a debate about who’s in touch with regular Americans?

Obama Leaning Toward Joe Biden as VP?

Maybe he's gotten over those remarks from last year when Joe Biden called him clean and articulate, as this report from Chicago indicates Barack Obama is leaning toward Delaware Senator and renowned plagiarist Joe Biden as his running mate.

I'm just passing on the latest I'm hearing--that Sen. Joe Biden (D-Del.) is moving up on the list of potential running mates for presumptive Democratic nominee Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.). While Obama's heart may go towards Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine--his head takes him to a more experienced pick, a Sen. Evan Bayh (D-Ind.) or Biden, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

I can see the appeal of Kaine--the parallel narrative is compelling. Their mothers came from the same Kansas town, both Harvard Law grads with interests in civil rights; both wives Harvard Law grads.

If you ask me, Kaine disqualified himself permanently from consideration for higher office for his absurd statements the other day saying Russia bent to Obama's will and laid downs their arms.

Otherwise, it seems the candidate of change may be content with someone who's been in the Senate over 30 years. Maybe he thinks it lends gravitas to his campaign.
