Bubblehead Valerie Jarrett Mistakes Uniformed General For Her Waiter at Alfalfa Club Dinner

White House spinmeister Valerie Jarrett's blissful ignorance never ceases to amaze.
During an exclusive dinner hosted Monday by the Alfalfa Club, Obama adviser Valerie Jarret had just such a moment. And were it not for an irritated tipster, Jarret might have walked away from the dinner unblemished.

According to our tipster, Jarrett was seated at the head table along with several other big-name politicians and a handful of high-ranking military officials. As an officer sporting several stars walked past Jarrett, she signaled for his attention and said, “I’d like another glass of wine.”

Garçon!

White House economic adviser Austan Goolsbee, who was seated next to Jarret, began “cracking up nervously,” our tipster said, but no one pointed out to Jarrett that the man sporting a chestful of medals was not her waiter.

“The guy dutifully went up and got her a glass of wine, and then came back and gave it to her and took a seat at the table,” our tipster said. “Everyone is in tuxedos and gowns at this thing, but the military people are in full dress uniform.”

“There was no shortage of waiters either,” the tipster added.
It's a good thing Jarrett exists in her own stratosphere, so at least we know she won't lose any sleep over this embarrassing faux pas.

In fact, she's probably still wondering why her waiter sat down at her table after fetching her a glass of wine.

What euphoric detachment from reality looks like.

Patient Dumping Pioneer To Advocate For Obamacare

This just gets better and better. Politico is reporting that Michelle Obama may get out in the public eye to promote the Democrats proposed takeover of health care and who better to have out there then somebody who helped pioneer the program officially known as the Urban Health Initiative, but most often referred to as "patient dumping". Maybe now we can get some answers to some lingering questions that the Chicago Sun-Times raised over a year ago. You know when the campaign was going on and the media was in full "See No Evil, Speak No Evil, Hear No Evil" mode.
Sen. Barack Obama's wife and three close advisers have been involved with a program at the University of Chicago Medical Center that steers patients who don't have private insurance -- primarily poor, black people -- to other health care facilities.

Michelle Obama -- currently on unpaid leave from her $317,000-a-year job as a vice president of the prestigious hospital -- helped create the program, which aims to find neighborhood doctors for low-income people who were flooding the emergency room for basic treatment. Hospital officials say such patients hinder their ability to focus on more critically ill patients in need of specialized care, such as cancer treatment and organ transplants.

Some of the other players in this scheme are David Axelrod, now the president's Senior Advisor, Valerie Jarrett, another Senior Advisor to the president, and Dr. Eric Whitaker. Along with the other usual suspects of Rezko and Blagojevich.

Who is Dr Eric Whitaker you ask? Well besides being the head of the hospital when Michelle was hanging out there earning a 6 figure salary for doing very little he is now the head of the Illinois Department of Health and Barack's bestest buddy ever from his Harvard days. Why they are so tight that sometimes when Obama is hanging out with some of his czars and other advisors he has Eric hang out with them.
President Obama will on Thursday night recline -- one is obligated to, after all -- at the first ever White House Passover seder to be attended by a sitting U.S. President.

Eric Lesser, special assistant to senior adviser David Axelrod and all-around mensch, is running the event, which is not expected to include as guests top White House tribesmen Axelrod or White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel.
Guests will include:

*President Obama
*The First Lady
*Malia Obama
*Sasha Obama
*Valerie Jarrett, Senior Advisor to the President
*Dr. Eric Whitaker (personal friend)

*Susan Sher, Counsel to the First Lady, and family
*Eric Lesser, Special Assistant to the Senior Advisor, and family
*Arun Chaudhary, White House Videographer, and family
*Herbie Ziskend, Staff Assistant to the Vice President’s Policy and Economic Advisors
*Reggie Love, Personal Aide to the President
*Lisa Kohnke, Deputy Director of Advance and Special Events for OPL-IGA
*Melissa Winter, Deputy Chief of Staff to the First Lady
*Dana Lewis, Personal Aide to the First Lady
*Samantha Tubman, Associate Social Secretary

Back in January he was rumored to be on the short list for Surgeon General. Dr. Whitaker has been seen golfing with Barack in Hawaii, visiting the White House on numerous occasions and the two were inseparable on the campaign trail. There is no telling what official position he would be filling if the Rezko ties hadn't have come into play, but there is still time to name him to some sort of czar position.

So 2 of the 3 people who helped cobble together this patient dumping scheme are now senior advisors to the president and are linked to helping Michelle Obama get her cushy gig at the University of Chicago Medical Center with a big assist from Dr Eric Whitaker who is Barack's close friend from his college days.

Oh yeah and Mr Axelrod suggested they drop or change the word urban.

So anyway the web that is Chicago crony politics continues and we are left to wonder who is going to ask the questions.

Obama Flunkie Heckled By Nutroots

Some people you just can't please. As far left as Barack Obama has lurched, it's just not enough for the nutroots.
More shouts and protests followed. "I can't hear you," Jarrett said. "You know what you've got to do? You've got to figure out a way to get your question on here [pointing to the computer on stage that was receiving emails from questioners]. We are not going to have shout outs from the audience."

The moderator agreed. "This is not a town hall meeting like that," said Baratunde Thurston, of Jack and Jill Politics and The Onion. The crowd got the reference to the boisterous demonstrators at health care town halls. But they didn't stop. From the back of the room, someone shouted a question about why the private security contractor, Blackwater, was still being paid for work overseas.

"Well we are certainly trying to get rid of the no bid contracts," said Jarrett. "He has been very clear about that."

A group of individuals sitting at a table off to the side started hissing. "I hear the frustration and I hear the kind of hissing," said Jarrett. "I hear you. Settle down over there, settle down."
"I'm asking you to trust [the President]," she pleaded. "And I know that's hard. Because I know how pure you are to the cause. But he also has to keep in mind that he has to keep those folks safe."
Jarrett apparently is unaware these people don't give a rat's ass about the troops.

Why Hasn't Rahm Emanuel Resigned From His Congressional Seat?

Since Barack Obama's Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel is smack dab in the middle of the Rod Blagojevich scandal, it got me wondering why he hasn't resigned from his Congressional seat yet? Before we get to that, however, we have news this morning that Emanuel indeed spoke directly with Blagojevich about who might replace Obama.
President-elect Barack Obama's incoming chief of staff Rahm Emanuel had a deeper involvement in pressing for a U.S. Senate seat appointment than previously reported, the Sun-Times has learned. Emanuel had direct discussions about the seat with Gov. Blagojevich, who is is accused of trying to auction it to the highest bidder.

Emanuel talked with the governor in the days following the Nov. 4 election and pressed early on for the appointment of Valerie Jarrett to the post, sources with knowledge of the conversations told the Sun-Times. There was no indication from sources that Emanuel brokered a deal, however.

A source with the Obama camp strongly denied Emanuel spoke with the governor directly about the seat, saying Emanuel only spoke with Blagojevich once recently to say he was taking the chief of staff post.

But sources with knowledge of the investigation said Blagojevich told his aides about the calls with Emanuel and sometimes gave them directions afterward. Sources said that early on, Emanuel pushed for the appointment of Jarrett to the governor and his staff and asked that it be done by a certain date.

At least some of the conversations between Emanuel and Blagojevich were likely caught on tape, sources said.
Oops. Now those are tapes I'd really like to hear.

So we now have both Obama and Emanuel caught in a lie.

Change!

Anyway, since the media hasn't paid it much attention, we're wondering why Emanuel hasn't resigned from his seat yet. I cannot locate any stories saying he's already done so, but according to his Wikipedia page, there's probably a good reason why he hasn't yet done so.
After Emanuel submits his resignation of his congressional seat, the Governor of Illinois must set the date for a special election within five days, and the election must take place within 115 days.
Maybe Emanuel hasn't resigned yet because it's possible he'll be jettisoned from Obama's administration and he can just go back to Congress? It's almost a shame Blagojevich can't appoint someone in his place. Now that would really be amusing.
