Billionaire investment guru Warren Buffett is will help fundraise [sic] for President Obama's reelection campaign at two fundraising events in Chicago and New York respectively.Obama has spent every free moment this week in New York at lavish fatcat fundraisers, but we're supposed to pretend he's a man of the people or something.
According to Crain's Chicago Business, Buffett will attend the Oct. 27 Chicago fundraising event alongside a number of major Chicago donors including former Obama campaign national finance chairwoman Penny Pritzker, a longtime Obama supporter and fundraiser, and John Rogers Jr., another early Obama campaign backer.
Buffett will also be featured at a Democratic National Committee fundraiser in New York in late September.

We Are All Warren Buffett's Secretary
Quite amazing how MoveOn dot org had this ad all ready to go after Obama's class warfare speech today. It's almost like they're acting in concert or something.
MoveOn is already planning to air a TV ad on national cable stations this week that alludes to Mr. Obama's proposed "Buffett rule." The ad features actors portraying middle class workers who say, "I'm Warren Buffett's secretary" and complain about paying higher taxes than the billionaire investor. If we lived in a sane world, Warrenn Buffett would just give his secretary a raise and would could, um, move on.
Just wondering, doesn't the left know secretaries are now known as administrative assistants?

Yawn: Warren Buffett Wants His Taxes Raised
Why is it these loudmouths don't just pull out their checkbooks and write a check for whatever extra taxes they want to pay?
Just watch, as Obama embarks on his campaign bus tour today, he'll be quoting this clown.
Update: As predicted, Obama cites the Buffett piece.
Warren Buffett, the third wealthiest man in the world with a net worth of around $80 billion, is demanding the U.S. government make the rich like him pay higher taxes and says they should no longer be protected like endangered “spotted owls.”Um, Warren, since you're supposedly worth $80 billion, why not just give it away to the federal government. Put your money where your mouth is of just shut the hell up.
In a New York Times op-ed on Monday, titled “Stop Coddling the Rich,” Buffett, Berkshire Hathaway’s chair and CEO, said he and his “mega-rich” friends have been spared the “shared sacrifice” the country’s leaders have asked for as the country veers toward a double-dip recession.
“While the poor and middle class fight for us in Afghanistan, and while most Americans struggle to make ends meet, we mega-rich continue to get our extraordinary tax breaks,” he wrote.
“These and other blessings are showered upon us by legislators in Washington who feel compelled to protect us, much as if we were spotted owls or some other endangered species. It’s nice to have friends in high places.”
He observes that investment managers earn billions, but only pay a 15 percent tax rate.
Buffett said his 2010 tax bill, including income and payroll taxes, totaled $6,938,744 — or 17.4 percent of his taxable income. Most people in his office pay 33 to 41 percent, he said.
Just watch, as Obama embarks on his campaign bus tour today, he'll be quoting this clown.
Update: As predicted, Obama cites the Buffett piece.

'For Him to Discard Me Like That Was Devastating'
Just imagine if Warren Buffett wasn't a darling of the left and a close personal pal of Barack Obama. He'd be trashed as cold, cruel and mean-spirited for cutting off his granddaughter.
TWO years ago, billionaire Warren Buffett cut his son's adopted daughter, Nicole, out of the family inheritance, telling her, "I have not emotionally or legally adopted you as a grandchild, nor have the rest of my family adopted you as a niece or a cousin."Hey, maybe Oprah can stage a familiy reunion here. Bring in Obama, Buffett and the girl and see if they can all chip in and at least get her some health insurance. I mean, we're talking billions between them, can't they dig down deep and foot her tab?
Now the 32-year-old struggling artist - who can't afford health insurance or cable television - opens up to Marie Claire magazine about her ousting.
Nicole, of Berkeley, Calif., and her twin sister were adopted at age 4 when Buffett's youngest son, Peter, married Nicole's biological mother. The two divorced in 1993, but, Marie Claire reports, Nicole was "embraced as kin by the larger Buffett family - especially Susan, Warren's first wife, an avid music lover and cabaret performer."
Nicole tells the magazine, "The first thing most people think of when they hear my last name is money." Super investor Buffett - who was worth $50 billion as recently as September - lives modestly in Omaha, Neb., where he sent his children to public school. He earmarked the bulk of his Berkshire Hathaway shares for charity in 2006.
So when Nicole chose to participate in Jamie Johnson's indie documentary "The One Percent" - which focused on children born into money - the Oracle of Omaha was furious. In the film, Nicole says, "I've been very blessed to have my education taken care of, and I have had my living expenses taken care of while I'm in school."
Nicole then went on "Oprah" to promote the movie, confessing, "It would be nice to be involved with creating things for others with that money and to be involved in it. I feel completely excluded from it."
"For him to discard me like that was devastating," Nicole told the magazine. "It permanently divided our family."C'mon, Warren, man up. At least get her some cable and health care.

Soros Pal: U.S. "Undoubtedly in Recession"

Reuters is back throwing mud at the U.S. Check out this story today:
U.S. "undoubtedly in recession": Jim Rogers
LONDON (Reuters) - The United States has entered a recession, according to highly-regarded investor Jim Rogers, who told Britain's Daily Telegraph newspaper on Wednesday he was switching out of the dollar and into yen, the yuan and the Swiss franc.Highly regarded by whom? Reuters? Right. This is a guy who thinks the Chinese economy is a good bet for investments. Later, the article has this:
The veteran investor, who predicted the 1999 commodities rally, also said he was still bullish about surging Chinese stock markets despite worries over a bubble.
The US economy is undoubtedly in recession," Rogers told the Telegraph in Hong Kong in an article published on its Website.Apparently, Mr. Rogers, as well as the Reuters editors, do not understand the definition of the word "recession" or have bothered to check any actual econometric data. So what is the definition of recession?
A period of general economic decline; specifically, a decline in GDP for two or more consecutive quarters. And how, you may ask, has the U.S. GDP done recently?
News Release: Gross Domestic Product and Corporate Profits
Real gross domestic product -- the output of goods and services produced by labor and property located in the United States -- increased at an annual rate of 3.8 percent in the second quarter of 2007, according to final estimates released by the Bureau of Economic Analysis. In the first quarter, real GDP increased 0.6 percent. So, instead of the GDP going down for two consecutive quarters, as required to qualify as a "recession," it has gone up.
What the U.S.-hating socialists at Reuters have done is hunt around for someone to say what they wanted to hear, and then they printed it. I'm sure I could go up and down Wall Street and find some "highly regarded investor" who thinks Elvis Presley is still alive too.
That does not make it so.
So, Reuters, you are so full of crap, and your anti-U.S. pro-socialist bias is very apparent.
Rogers, it just so happens, is a former partner of another America-hater, George Soros.
Earlier this year, with the benchmark Shanghai index trading at around 4000, Mr Rogers, a former investment partner of George Soros, added his voice to the chorus of warnings about an incipient bubble forming in the mainland Chinese capital markets.Speaking of George Soros, Michelle Malkin notes a company initially funded by the Media Matters sugar daddy was raided by the FBI Wednesday.
With the Shanghai Composite Index closing at 5843 points, Mr Rogers said he was relaxed about the market's continued growth.
"I still feel the same way. It's not a bubble yet - if it goes past 9000 in January I'll have to sell. Bubbles always end badly," he said. "I do not want to sell Chinese stocks. I want to own them forever and I want my [four year-old] daughter to own them."
Mr Rogers' comments came as Warren Buffett, the 'Sage of Omaha', urged investors to be cautious about the Shanghai market's surge, which has seen it rise by more than 125pc this year.
