Aw: Obama Fan Organizes Koran Reading at Capitol

If we've learned anything this week it's you can be a total nonentity with a handful of kook fringe followers one day and a media obsession the next. That crank in Florida proved that already. Now we have another douchebag looking for his 15 minutes. Nine years ago today the Capitol was likely a target of Islamists. Today American dhimmis are reading their inspiration there.

A Virginia man has organized a Quran reading on the Capitol’s west lawn Saturday afternoon, an event planned to counter Florida pastor Terry Jones’ threat to burn the Muslim holy text.

The reading will proceed even though Jones has backed off. A Facebook page about the planned 4 p.m. quiet reading says it is designed to “counter the forces of ignorance and intolerance.”

“This event is not about religious proselytizing, but about furthering understanding and tolerance (in fact, the people organizing it are all either Christians or Agnostics). Please join us for a few hours of quiet reading in the name of brotherhood and peace,” the website states.

Tony Tribby, 43, noted that even though Jones has canceled his plan, there have been threats by others – including the extreme Westboro Baptist Church in Kansas – to undertake Quran burnings.

Naturally, he's an Obamaton.

Tribby said he volunteered for Howard Dean’s (D) unsuccessful presidential campaign in 2004 and for President Barack Obama’s campaign in 2008, but that Saturday’s Quran reading is the first political event he has organized.

His MySpace page lists his heroes as Howard Dean, John Conyers, and Janeane Garofalo, among others.

DR DOOLITTLE AND THE TALIBAN

Like a latter day Dr Doolittle, British Home Secretary - and Mr Bean look-a-like David Miliband suggests that it is time we started to talk to the Taliban.

But not ANY old Taliban, no, he wants to chat to the moderate Taliban. Learning from the lessons of Northern Ireland, the British Government believes that if we could only talk to the Islamic scum that kill our troops we might win their hearts and minds. Yes, that's how BAD it is over here. We have a bunch of pre-pubescent dhimmis in government who having sold out to terrorism in Northern Ireland are now seeking to do likewise in Afghanistan.

The only engagement with the Taliban should be from the business end of a drone, or a rifle, or a shell. We don't need to talk to them. Killing them is the key objective - every last one of them. But Dr Doolittle knows better...

CLUB JIHAD

Further to JMF's post, I am not in the least surprised to discover that there are those here in Europe who are gagging with unexpurgated excitement at the prospect of having some of the Gauntanamo faithful resettled amongst them. Perhaps there may be some staff vacancies on the Madrid rail system or maybe the London Underground?

The reality is that for many Euroweenies, the Gitmo rabble are noble heroes, all innocent of any crime, imprisoned by the great Satan in an act of inhumanity. But now The One is going to release these dedicated enemies of the USA, and what better place for them to go but Club Jihad - firmly located right across Europe. Hang out the bunting and let the celebrations begin - the boys are coming home. God help us.

Dhimmitude Interrupted

Let the seething begin.

A German court announced Tuesday it had upheld a ban on Muslim teachers wearing headscarves in schools in the state of Baden-Württemberg. A state administrative court of appeal in the city of Mannheim ruled teachers cannot cover their heads in the classroom -- at least not if they do so for religious reasons.

The court's decision overturned an earlier ruling in 2006 by a lower court, which decided in favor of a teacher who had converted to Islam. The teacher, who had worn a headscarf since 1995, took her case to court after the school board in the state capital of Stuttgart ordered her to stop wearing a headscarf in the classroom.

Explaing the latest ruling, the Mannheim court said in a statement: "The directive issued by the school administration for those working at the school not to wear such a head covering is lawful." It added the ban applied to teachers who had worn a head covering for years without any students complaining. By wearing a headscarf, the teacher broke her obligation to keep religious expression out of the classroom, the court said. It also ruled that the ban fully complied with Germany's constitution.

The teacher at the center of the court case, Doris Graber, has taught in elementary and secondary schools for over 30 years. After converting to Islam in 1984, she has worn a headscarf in the classroom for the past 13 years. But in 2004 the school board ordered her to stop covering her head.

Graber claims she should be treated the same as nuns.

The administrative court however rejected Graber's argument that she should be treated the same as three nuns in a public school elsewhere in the state on the grounds of religious equality. The judges however did not give a reason for rejecting the argument.

Earlier last week, the state attorney spoke of a "historic exception" in the aforementioned public school where the nuns still teach in habit. The public school, which was formerly a monastery, was taken over by the state and authorities are bound to a contract governing the "exceptions status" of the school, he said.

THE SPREADING ISLAMIC CRESCENT

It's quite shocking to see the lengths to which this dhimmified British government will go to ingratiate itself with Islam. I refer to the plans it has to issue special "Islamic bonds" to pay for PM Gordon Brown's public-spending programme by raising money from the Middle East.
Britain is to become the first Western nation to issue bonds approved by Muslim clerics in line with sharia law, which bans conventional loans involving interest payments as "sinful". The scheme would mark one of the most significant economic advances of sharia law in the non-Muslim world. It will lead to the ownership of Government buildings and other assets currently belonging to British taxpayers being switched wholesale to wealthy Middle-Eastern businessmen and banks. The Government sees sharia-compliant bonds as a way of tapping Middle-East money and "building bridges" with the Muslim community. Oh god.

We are, literally, being sold out by these scum in power. The United Kingdom may well become the first of the Western democracies to submit to Islam. We have an Archbishop of Canterbury who shills for Sharia and now a Chancellor of the Exchequer who sells our family silver for Sharia funded bonds. We really do need a revolution to win back our once proud Nation before the Islamic crescent casts a long shadow across it.

SHILLING FOR SHARIA

Interesting to read that Dr Rowan Williams, the venerable Archbishop of Canterbury, part-time Druid and full time hypocrite, now says that Sharia law in the UK "is inevitable" and indeed could help sustain social cohesion!

Well, I'm not sure if beheadings for thieves in Blackburn, stonings of homosexuals in Bradford, maybe the occassional public amputation for adulterers in Birmingham will really add the social cohesion that Williams imagines. There appears to be a move afoot to institutionalise Sharia law here, with the arch hypocrite Williams now becoming an advocate for this novel form of social cohesion.

Here's a chance for Rowan Williams to get real insight into the joys of Sharia Law. Let him buy a ticket to Tehran (One way, preferably) to witness the coming stoning to death of two women. Two sisters – identified only as Zohreh and Azar – have been convicted of adultery and have now been sentenced to be stoned to death. Adultery is a crime punishable by death in the Islamic Republic of Iran, in accordance with the canons of Islamic Sharia law. The Iranian Supreme Court has upheld the stoning sentence. Zohreh and Azar have already received 99 lashes for "illegal relations." Yet they were tried again for the same crime, and convicted of adultery on the evidence of videotape that showed them in the presence of other men while their husbands were absent. (Best Druid Williams leaves his wife Jane at home!) The video does not show either of them engaging in any sexual activity at all.

Won't it be fab when we get what the Archbishop of Canterbury wants - it will certainly create a few vacancies in the Media, I dare say. Good for social adhesion, and coming to a town near you if Williams and his fellow dhimmis prevail. I guess if Obama wins the Presidency, Sharia will become part of the "change" he and Hillary promise?

'Don't mention Islamic extremists': Government phrasebook tries to avoid upsetting Muslims

The Government has drawn up a controversial phrasebook on the language of terrorism and is insisting civil servants no longer blame fanatical extremism on Islam, for fear of upsetting the Muslim community.

The new counter-terrorism guidelines suggest that phrases such as "Islamic terrorist" and "jihadi fundamentalism" are too inflammatory and imply that all Muslims explicitly are responsible for extremism.

Instead the leaked Home Office document advises Whitehall bosses that they refer to violent extremism and criminal murderers or thugs to avoid any link between Islam and terrorism.

However, the war on terror handbook has provoked an unfavourable response from people claiming the Government are bowing under the pressure of political correctness.

Well, apparently there are a few people left that won't bow down, but they're clearly outnumbered.

Just get a load of this Orwellian gobbledygook.

A Home Office spokeswoman confirmed that the document had been distributed to "key delivery partners" including chief constables, local authorities and Government offices a few weeks ago.

She added: "The pack is the first of a series of communications intended to brief partners about recent work to develop the 'prevent' strand of the Government's counter-terrorism strategy and help them to identify further contributions they can make to this agenda.

"The 'prevent' strand relies on all sectors - public, private, voluntary and community - working with central government in its aim of stopping people becoming or supporting violent extremists.

"Coherent and effective cross-government communications are important in relation to countering terrorism. Language is part of this work.

"To engage effectively with local communities, we need consistent, clear and appropriate communications. If our messages are ambiguous or untargeted they will not reach or be understood by those who need to hear them and we risk having a negative impact on our audiences.

"The communications guidance is based on in-depth, qualitative research, but is not intended to be prescriptive."

Huh? How about saying we do not tolerate religious fanatics intent on destroying us?

But Tory MP and security expert Patrick Mercer said to the Daily Express: "It is no help to strike out words like Islamist. What else do we call these people?"

"I understand the sensitivities of parts of our communities. But a vast majority of Muslims, who are law abiding, understand what the problem is."

The guidelines make up part of a £45 million plan to tackle violent extremism in local communities and win the "hearts and minds" of Muslims.

Good luck with that.

POLYGAMY TO BE INCENTIVISED IN BRITAIN!

The serial submission of the British political elite to Islam continues. Get this.

Husbands with multiple wives have been given the go-ahead to claim extra welfare benefits following a year-long Government review!

Yes, even though bigamy is a crime in Britain, the decision by ministers means that polygamous marriages can now be recognised formally by the state, so long as the weddings took place in countries where the arrangement is legal. The outcome will chiefly benefit...SURPRISE SURPISE... Muslim men with more than one wife, as is permitted under Islamic law. Ministers estimate that up to a thousand polygamous partnerships exist in Britain, although they admit there is no exact record.

Listen, who give a toss what is permitted under Islamic Law? Polygamy has no place in the United Kingdom and for the State to not only overtly recognise it but to now financially reward those Muslims who practice it is one more advance for Islam, one more government-driven retreat.

'Sharia is Often Perceived as Oppressive and Brutal by Westerners'

The BCC is doing their part to get the Brits ready for Sharia Law, as they give viewers an inside look at how a Sharia Court works in Nigeria.

I hope they're paying attention. It isn't pretty.

Inside a Sharia Court

A devout Muslim, Judge Isah explains that Sharia is "a path which leads to Almighty Allah, so you cannot separate Sharia from Islam and Islam from Sharia".

Over the weeks I spent at his court, I witnessed the man's passion, his conviction, his wry humour, and the speed with which he administered his justice. And I was astonished by the extraordinary variety of cases he sees each week.

Nothing like the "wry humour" of a sharia judge. Must be a real cut-up between handing out stonings and public floggings.

In one case, Sa'adiyya Ibrahim claimed that since her separation from her husband, he had refused to perform his Islamic duty of providing for her. He insisted he had.

In the end, the judge decided in her favour because she swore it was true on a copy of the Koran. Judge Isah - which literally means Jesus - was convinced the plaintiff would not risk divine condemnation by making a false oath. He ordered the husband to pay up, which he did without protest.

For all anyone knows, she's a pathological liar, but hey, she swore on a Koran, so who are we to question her?

His court works more like a community centre, where every morning he sees people in his chambers. His aim is to mediate and avoid unnecessary expensive court cases that clog up the system.

This plays an important role in more way than one. Sharia is attractive to local people because anyone can bring a case to court and represent themselves.

"In our Sharia law, we can summon anyone to appear provided there is an allegation to defend. No exceptions," explained Judge Isah.

Boy, Rush Limbaugh would be in court every day. No wonder the left is so fervently embracing dhimmitude.

Sharia is often perceived as oppressive and brutal by Westerners, because of punishments like stoning to death for adultery and amputations for theft.

Uh, yes, I do perceive stoning for adultery and amputations for theft as oppressive and brutal, as do most normal human beings. Because such stone-age punishments are, well, oppressive and brutal.

One hot, dusty afternoon, I followed three young men being taken from the courtroom to the market square. They were convicted of alcoholism - strictly frowned upon in Muslim society - and received 80 lashes in front of a gathered crowd.

Judge Isah explained that public humiliation was part of the punishment. It also served to deter others who were tempted to indulge in vice.

"By stopping people from drinking alcohol, society will be in harmony and sanity," he said. "More over the sentence of 80 lashes is in the Koran so no one can question it".

See how simple it all is. It's it the Koran, so do not question it.

Is seething and whining also ordered up by the Koran when a Muslim perceives an offense?

In Zamfara, there are only two recorded cases of people who have had their hands amputated for stealing. According to official records both of them refused their right of appeal and insisted the punishment be carried out.

I found one amputee, Lawalli Isah, still languishing in the local prison, but when questioned about the severity of the punishment, he simply said: "It is in my religion, I accept it".

Like he's going to complain?

Most of the people that I met in Zamfara said they welcomed Sharia. It has cut down drinking and violence, and the court is no longer an intimidating place of wigs and gowns, doing business in a language that they do not understand.

After six weeks in Zamfara, I can see how Judge Isah's court functions well as a small claims court for this rural Islamic society. But my reservations about Sharia remain the same. For me, the sticking points are still the floggings and the amputations, and the undeniably unfair treatment of women in rape and adultery cases.

Other than that, it's just peachy.
