Relax, It's Still Cool To Beat Up White Folks

Most people are aware by now of a beating of what has been revealed was a transgendered woman at a McDonalds in Baltimore. Now comes word that the police and prosecutors are looking into charging the two women involved with a hate crime. No, not because the attack was black on white but rather because the victim was transgender.

You see white folks ain't on a protected list so it is still open season on them. Do you see the flaw in these so-called hate crime laws?

In Atlanta they had a gang of about 20 youths, all black, attack two Delta employees aboard the commuter train. While little is known about the victims this is not being classified as a hate crime.

Dems Hiding Behind Defense Appropriations

I stand with the Republican house leadership on this issue, and wish folks would take the time to contact their congressional representatives or at least the ones mentioned in this piece to let them know you support them.

The reason is simple. For as long as I can remember members of congress have always tagged distasteful legislation onto and in the defense appropriations bill, although most of the time it comes in the shape of some pet pork barrel project rather then some sort feel good touchy feely legislation like this case.

House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) and House GOP Conference Chairman Mike Pence (R-Ind.) are voting against the House/Senate fiscal year 2010 defense authorization bill — because it contains hate crimes provisions designed to protect gays and lesbians.

GOP Whip Eric Cantor is also a no, saying that the legislation constitutes classifying a new group of "thought crimes."

The Democrats also probably feel some sort cynical irony in putting hate crimes legislation for gays and lesbians in to the appropriations bill for the military which has a Don't Ask- Don't Tell policy that they have railed against ever since Bill Clinton instituted it.

As a general rule I am against so called hate crimes legislation no matter what shape it takes, since it gets into the realm of what a person was thinking and requires very little other the debating skills of the lawyer in order to convince a jury of such a thing. A crime against a person is enough of a hate crime without trying to find any other motivation.

If the Democrats think this is such a wonderful piece of legislation it should be able to stand on it's own. I am tired of the defense budget being used as some sort of club to blackmail legislators into voting for it even though it contains all sorts of non defense related items. Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats in congress are trying to play a game of chicken, knowing that if the Republicans vote against this they can use it in next years campaign commercials. Republicans need to have the nerve to take a stand and then be ready to defend the vote when the next election cycle starts. The bottom line is the Dems can pass this without the Republicans anyway, but I am looking for those who can put principles ahead of political expediency.

Let Boehner, Pence, and Cantor know that sometimes you have to stand up for what is right even when it isn't easy, and that is the lesson we need to be teaching everyone. The one word of warning I would give them however is don't be hypocrites when it comes to doing this and try to put something in the next defense appropriations bill that you want.

Just disgusting. Yet it's typical of Obama's America. The beaten kid is white and according to the media, all white people are racist, so I guess he had it coming.

Of course this is obviously a hate crime. Will CNN and MSNBC, so eager to declare any opposition to The One as racist, even report this?

"In my estimation, it's racially motivated," said Capt. Don Sax of the Belleville Police Department. He said one reason he had formed this opinion was that many of the students, most of whom were black, yelled their support for the beating.

"There was absolutely no justification for the beating either time," Sax said.

Attacks Against Jews Going Underreported

Can't say it comes as any surprise that alleged hate crimes are skewed in this direction.

When you have professional grievance groups who ply their trade on making false reports and a willingly compliant media, nobody should be shocked.

But why are real hate crimes (and I hate that term anyway, crimes are crimes) against Jews going underreported?

A source inside the Manhattan District Attorney’s office admitted to me during a telephone conversation yesterday that “hate crimes,” specifically those occurring against Jews, are frequently omitted from such classification. Meanwhile, acts that victimize Muslims, regardless of their motivation, are usually reported as "hate crimes." Consequently, crimes against Jews and other religions fail to garner the same media focus as crimes against Muslims and skew the figures used to track criminal motives. Although this is not a new phenomenon, it has recently been accentuated by the incident that took place on a New York subway last week.

At about 6:20 last Tuesday, March 18, 2008, 25 year-old Uria Ohana, a rabbinical assistant, was assaulted by three Muslim men inside the subway station at Fourth Avenue and Ninth Street in Park Slope. As Ohana proceeded through the turnstile, 18 year-old Ali Hussein grabbed Uria Ohana’s yarmulke from his head; Ohana gave chase, and was assaulted by Hussein’s accomplices who were shouting “Alla hu Akbar” - Arabic for “God is great.” The chase ended when Hussein was struck by a vehicle as he ran onto Fourth Avenue. Hussein’s friends abandoned him at the scene, fleeing in a late model GMC Suburban.

The incident received very little media attention, and the motive was not initially recorded as a bias or “hate crime.” This happens frequently,” admitted this source, adding that the pressure from Muslim special interest groups is much greater than from other similar organizations. “It seems that there is a far greater propensity for law enforcement to recognize and classify crimes against Muslims as motivated by religious bias, and there more pressure from watch dog groups to insure that crimes against Muslims are immediately classified as having their origins in religious bias. What it does is that it skews the actual numbers,” added this source.

Shocking, isn't it?

To be fair, CAIR did issue a release condemning this attack, but it's my suspicion that's more a ploy to deflect attention from their status as unindicted co-conspirators to Hamas.

This report from late 2006 indicate a far greater proportion of attacks are against Jews. So why does the media buy the canard that attacks on Muslims have allegedly increased.

Update: The perp was indicted Tuesday.

Islamophobia? What Islamophobia?

Ever since 9/11, when Muslim terrorists murdered thousands of Americans, we've heard about an alleged surge in hate crimes against Muslims, especially from the unindicted co-conspirators at CAIR.

Well, as it turns out, it's all BS.

Not only are anti-Islamic hate crimes way down, but they're a fraction of overall religious hate crimes. The overwhelming majority of such crimes target Jews, something CAIR and other Muslim groups don't seem all that concerned about.

In 2006, a whopping 66% of religiously motivated attacks were on Jews, while just 11% targeted Muslims, even though the Jewish and Muslim populations are similar in size. Catholics and Protestants, who together account for 9% of victims, are subject to almost as much abuse as Muslims in this country.

Last year's anti-Islamic hate crimes totaled 156. While just one hate crime is one too many, that's a 68% drop from 2001.

The FBI report gives lie to CAIR's alarmist narrative of "Islamophobic" lynch mobs marching on mosques across America. In reality, Americans have been remarkably, and admirably, tolerant and respectful of Muslims and their institutions since 9/11.

It's plain that CAIR, which claims to be the "Muslim NAACP," has been hyping tensions.

Which is why the media should ignore their bogus claims.
