Hillary Clinton Sounds Like a Tea Partier, Says Governments Need to Listen to the People

Funny, but when Americans rose up over the past two years to demand economic freedom from crushing taxes and repeatedly told Democrats they had no desire to have government-run ObamaCare shoved down our throats, they were derided as out-of-control "teabaggers" who were foaming at the mouth.

Now as instability grows in the Mideast and elsewhere, all of a sudden she's paying lip service to protesters. Now if tomorrow a million people showed up outside the Capitol or White House demanding economic reforms in the United States, would she be telling her boss to listen to the pleas of the people?

Uh, doubtful.

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton on Saturday urged leaders across the Middle East to embrace democratic reforms in response to growing unrest in the region despite the risk of short-term instability in countries like Egypt, Tunisia and Yemen.

Clinton told an international security conference in Munich that change is a "strategic necessity" that will make Arab nations stronger and their people more prosperous and less susceptible to extremist ideologies. The region will face greater threats and insecurity without such actions, she said.

"This is not simply a matter of idealism; it is a strategic necessity," she said. "Without genuine progress toward open and accountable political systems, the gap between people and their governments will only grow, and instability will only deepen."

Open and accountable political systems? Why, what a quaint notion. Would have been nice if we had openness and accountability before we were herded into ObamaCare. To this day the majority of people do not want it, yet we're told what's bets for us. A lot of accountability there, huh?

"Some leaders may believe that their country is an exception - that their people will not demand greater political or economic opportunities, or that they can be placated with half-measures," she said. "In the short term, that may be true; but in the long-term that is untenable."

Half measures? Like, say, a couple of dollars in tax credits so were can build solar panels in order to win the future?

"If the events of these past few weeks prove anything, it is that the governments who consistently deny their people freedom and opportunity are the ones who will, in the end, open the door to instability."

Ah, yes, but when people here protest the erosion of their freedom and lack of jobs, well, they're just an angry mob being egged on by hate radio.

Time for Another 'Militias on the Rise' Story

You see this one every few years, usually during a Democrat administration. Naturally it comes from the far left Southern Poverty Law Center and leaps to wild conclusions.

Militia groups with gripes against the government are regrouping across the country and could grow rapidly, according to an organization that tracks such trends.

The stress of a poor economy and a liberal administration led by a black president are among the causes for the recent rise, the report from the Southern Poverty Law Center says. Conspiracy theories about a secret Mexican plan to reclaim the Southwest are also growing amid the public debate about illegal immigration.

Bart McEntire, a special agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, told SPLC researchers that this is the most growth he's seen in more than a decade.

"All it's lacking is a spark," McEntire said in the report.

It's reminiscent of what was seen in the 1990s - right-wing militias, people ideologically against paying taxes and so-called "sovereign citizens" are popping up in large numbers, according to the report to be released Wednesday. The SPLC is a nonprofit civil rights group that, among other activities, investigates hate groups.

Last October, someone from the Ohio Militia posted a recruiting video on YouTube, billed as a "wake-up call" for America. It's been viewed more than 60,000 times.

Any casual user of YouTube could tell you a video seen 60,000 times over the past ten months isn't very much.

Heck, this little blog you're reading had more page views than that in the past week.

Uh oh, I better watch out or we'll soon be termed a threat to society and reported to the White House snitch line.

Read the rest of the AP nonsense if you need to, but it's simply a tired regurgitation of a SPLC press release, though you can bet it'll sure get plenty of air time on the failing television networks today.

This isn't to suggest there are some loosely organized fringe groups out there, but their numbers are insignificant despite the scare tactics of the SPLC and their ilk. Seems to me your average gang, be it MS-13, the Bloods or the Crips pose a far greater danger to the public. But I guess mentioning them would be raaaaacist!

Ultimately, rising seas will likely swamp the first American settlement in Jamestown, Va., as well as the Florida launch pad that sent the first American into orbit, many climate scientists are predicting.

In about a century, some of the places that make America what it is may be slowly erased.

Global warming — through a combination of melting glaciers, disappearing ice sheets and warmer waters expanding — is expected to cause oceans to rise by one meter, or about 39 inches. It will happen regardless of any future actions to curb greenhouse gases, several leading scientists say. And it will reshape the nation.

Rising waters will lap at the foundations of old money Wall Street and the new money towers of Silicon Valley. They will swamp the locations of big city airports and major interstate highways.

Obviously, we're doomed. Yet there is an upside for some who hate politicians.

Storm surges worsened by sea level rise will flood the waterfront getaways of rich politicians — the Bushes' Kennebunkport and John Edwards' place on the Outer Banks. And gone will be many of the beaches in Texas and Florida favored by budget-conscious students on Spring Break.

Yes, it's come to this. The hype, hysteria and fear-mongering has reached its logical end.

Submit now to the global warming loons, or face a fate equal to nuclear war.

Climate change could have global security implications on a par with nuclear war unless urgent action is taken, a report said on Wednesday.

The International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) security think-tank said global warming would hit crop yields and water availability everywhere, causing great human suffering and leading to regional strife.

For a group purportedly in existence with the intention of arms control, I'm not quite sure where their expertise in this field derives from. Perhaps they're just trying to stay relevant and glom onto the global warming money-making machine.

Hey, if a dunce like Al Gore can cash in, it should be easy.

While everyone had now started to recognize the threat posed by climate change, no one was taking effective leadership to tackle it and no one could tell precisely when and where it would hit hardest, it added.

"The most recent international moves towards combating global warming represent a recognition ... that if the emission of greenhouse gases ... is allowed to continue unchecked, the effects will be catastrophic -- on the level of nuclear war," the IISS report said.

There's always the qualifiers, the ifs and could haves ... that will only occur ... unless urgent action is taken.

Still, even if urgent action is taken, well, it's too late, so get ready for nuclear annihilation, baby!

"Even if the international community succeeds in adopting comprehensive and effective measures to mitigate climate change, there will still be unavoidable impacts from global warming on the environment, economies and human security," it added.

Nowhere does this story indicate exactly how any of this catastrophic impact will occur. I guess just scaring the daylights out of you will get you to go along.

After all, we must do it for the children.

Scientists say global average temperatures will rise by between 1.8 and 4.0 degrees Celsius this century due to burning fossil fuels for power and transport.

Some scientists say that. Others dispute those assertions. It's not been proven, although they give themselves a pretty wide berth there just to play it safe.

Now they get to the juicy part.

The IISS report said the effects would cause a host of problems including rising sea levels, forced migration, freak storms, droughts, floods, extinctions, wildfires, disease epidemics, crop failures and famines.

Well, that pretty much covers everything except the prospective horrors of another Clinton admnistration.

The thing is, throughout history we've had all the above, none due to global warming.

The impact was already being felt -- particularly in conflicts in Kenya and Sudan -- and more was expected in places from Asia to Latin America as dwindling resources led to competition between haves and have nots.

What's going on in Kenya and Sudan has nothing to do with global warming and everything to do with ethnic and religious strife.

UN calls for pedal power to reduce environmental damage

KUALA LUMPUR (AFP) - More bicycle riding and other lifestyle changes are urgently needed to reduce climate-altering carbon emissions that are damaging Asia's health and could also threaten the economy, the World Health Organisation said Monday.

Climate change contributes directly or indirectly to about 77,000 deaths per year in the region, according to WHO estimates.

Some evidence of this claim would be nice. Oh, there isn't any?

"So far the impact is on the health of the people. If the trend continues, it may have an impact on the economy," said Shigeru Omi, WHO's regional director for the Western Pacific.

"Of course the threat is there. We should not wait for that to happen," he told reporters at the start of a four-day conference on the impact of climate change and health in Southeast and East Asian countries.

Omi said urgent action was needed because Asia's share of the world's greenhouse gas emissions was expected to grow larger with the rapid economic expansion of China and India.

"We have now reached a critical stage at which global warming already has seriously impacted lives and health and this problem will pose an even greater threat to mankind in coming decades if we fail to act now," Omi said.

He said that in some countries environmental issues were not given the highest priority but "if we ignore the environment, humanity will suffer."
