AARP's Creepy New Ad

So, it's come to this.

The Concord Coalition wasn't too thrilled with the ad either.
The Concord Coalition said today that a new ad campaign by AARP is misleading, divisive and an abdication of responsible leadership. At a critical moment, when hard decisions must be made about our nation’s future, AARP is demanding that current and future benefits for seniors be maintained at the expense of all other national priorities. It is interest group politics at its worst and should be soundly rejected.

The AARP ad features a senior citizen who warns that before politicians “even think about cutting my Medicare and Social Security benefits” they should remember that there are 50 million seniors with earned benefits who will be heard from on election day. The ad closes with an admonition to “Tell Congress: Cut waste and loopholes, not our benefits.”

The ad is timed to influence the already difficult work of the Joint Congressional Committee on Deficit Reduction (i.e. the “super committee”) which is seeking bipartisan solutions to reduce the deficit by $1.5 trillion over 10 years.

An email message announcing the ad says “Please let your members [of Congress] know that Medicare and Social Security cuts must be off the table as part of the super committees’s consideration” (emphasis added). AARP also states in an Oct. 12 press release that its members are urging the super committee to “protect current and future retirees from cuts to their Social Security and Medicare benefits” (emphasis added).

While the press release acknowledges that “Congress will have to make some tough choices to address our nation’s growing debt,” it does not propose any such choices and ignores how much more difficult those choices will be if Social Security and Medicare are exempted.

"This is the kind of tactic and rhetoric AARP has condemned in the past,” said former U.S. Senator Bob Kerrey, co-chairman of The Concord Coalition’s Board of Directors. “Since hollowing out the rest of the budget to pay for expanding entitlements would result in more uninsured, undereducated and unemployed Americans, AARP has taken an approach which can only and honestly be described as generational warfare. By its actions AARP has put at risk the strong inter-generational support for Social Security and Medicare."

After seeing the ad on television last night, I was reminded of this South Park episode:

So, Occupy Country Kitchen Buffet?

Moonbat Message to Oakland PD

Tell me this is a gag. Either this guy is goofing on Keith Olbermann or he really means business. What that business is we're not sure, unless it's unintentional comedy.

H/T.

Update: Well, this clown wanted to see the OPD cracking more heads, so here you go.

Via Ace.

Update: The idiot is on Twitter and the name given is Robert Todd Loewen. Judging by his chiseled physique, I'd say the OPD would really have their hands full.

Here's another. No explanation necessary.

Shocker: ACORN Paying OWS Protesters

Imagine our surprise to discover Obama's buddies from ACORN still meddling around. I though this criminal enterprise ceased to exist?
The former New York office for ACORN, the disbanded community activist group, is playing a key role in the self-proclaimed “leaderless” Occupy Wall Street movement, organizing “guerrilla” protest events and hiring door-to-door canvassers to collect money under the banner of various causes while spending it on protest-related activities, sources tell FoxNews.com.

The former director of New York ACORN, Jon Kest, and his top aides are now busy working at protest events for New York Communities for Change (NYCC). That organization was created in late 2009 when some ACORN offices disbanded and reorganized under new names after undercover video exposes prompted Congress to cut off federal funds.

NYCC’s connection to ACORN isn’t a tenuous one: It works from the former ACORN offices in Brooklyn, uses old ACORN office stationery, employs much of the old ACORN staff and, according to several sources, engages in some of the old organization’s controversial techniques to raise money, interest and awareness for the protests.

Sources said NYCC has hired about 100 former ACORN-affiliated staff members from other cities – paying some of them $100 a day - to attend and support Occupy Wall Street. Dozens of New York homeless people recruited from shelters are also being paid to support the protests, at the rate of $10 an hour, the sources said.

At least some of those hired are being used as door-to-door canvassers to collect money that’s used to support the protests.

Sources said cash donations collected by NYCC on behalf of some unions and various causes are being pooled and spent on Occupy Wall Street. The money is used to buy supplies, pay staff and cover travel expenses for the ex-ACORN members brought to New York for the protests.

In one such case, sources said, NYCC staff members collected cash donations for what they were told was a United Federation of Teachers fundraising drive, but the money was diverted to the protests.

Sources who participated in the teachers union campaign said NYCC supervisors gave them the addresses of union members and told them to go knock on their doors and ask for contributions—and did not mention that the money would go toward Occupy Wall Street expenses. One source said the campaign raked in about $5,000.

Current staff members at NYCC told FoxNews.com the union fundraising drive was called off abruptly last week, and they were told NYCC should not have been raising money for the union at all.
...
Another source, who said she was hired from a homeless shelter, said she was first sent to the protests before being deployed to Central Islip, Long Island, to canvass for a campaign against home foreclosures.

“I went to the protests every day for two weeks and made $10 an hour. They made me carry NYCC signs and big orange banners that say NYCC in white letters. About 50 others were hired around my time to go to the protests. We went to protests in and around Zuccotti Park, then to the big Times Square protest,” she said.

“But now they have me canvassing on Long Island for money, so I get the money and then the money is being used for Occupy Wall Street—to pay for all of it, for supplies, food, transportation, salaries, for everything ... all that money is going to pay for the protests downtown and that’s just messed up. It’s just wrong.”
According to Fox this is an exclusive, but, um, is it really?

Progress in Zuccotti Park: Less Drumming, More Portable Toilets

If these savages are going to hang on any longer, at least a bit of sanity will prevail. The locals living in the area won't be subject to so much of the incessant drumming, and the protesters may actually start using portable toilets in lieu of just taking a dump wherever they please. Maybe they can form a committee to show how the miscreants to use toilet paper.
Consider this a win/lose situation: After last night’s meeting with the local community board CB 1, protesters at Occupy Wall St. now must adhere to stricter noise regulations. This comes on the heels of another failed bid by the drumming group Pulse to have the board pass a 4-hour record for allowed jam sessions.

On the other hand, Zuccotti Park may now be getting their own Porta-Potty donations for sanitation purposes, which will probably decrease sales at the McDonald’s on Broadway and Liberty by 200%.

The board voted and passed a resolution last night to allow only two hours of “noise” per day in order to maintain a healthy respect for the sanity and eardrums of people who live in the area. This would include drumming, music, and “group chanting” … the last of which may pose a problem for the General Assembly, whose frequent “mike checks” could fall under that category.

Yet as part of the new resolution, the board also stipulated that police barricades in the area would be removed, decreasing the commute of local residents and employees, as well as the allowance of donated portable toilets in the park. (The Porta-Pottys will not be provided by the city however, they will have to be privately donated.)

The area’s lack of public restrooms have been a mounting concern for both protesters and non-protesters alike.

“I saw a gentleman who was actually using Tupperware containers to urinate in. He actually was dumping it in the street,” said John Tuttle, who works in the area.

Aw: Smelly Hipsters Find Love at OWS

I'll avoid posting a photo of these two since some may be eating. The story reads like it's straight out of The Onion.
Occupy Wall Street protester Kaylee Dedrick is still furious over getting pepper-sprayed by a cop - but the blinding sting wasn't all bad.

It sparked a romance with a fellow protester who came to her aid.

After pepper-spray-happy NYPD Deputy Inspector Anthony Bologna brought them together, Dedrick and Robert Grodt have become an item.

They kiss passionately, and slumber side by side - but neither would say they are dating.

"Nothing strengthens a relationship like a chemical agent," was Grodt's tongue-in-cheek reply when asked about their romance while they locked lips at the Zuccotti Park encampment earlier this week.

Grodt, an activist and journalist from Santa Cruz, Calif., played his guitar and serenaded his new lady-friend as he recalled the first time he gazed into her watery, red eyes.
Nothing like a little pepper spray to spice up the romance.
Grodt, a volunteer medic for the group's march up to Union Square, rushed to help her as she fell to the pavement, covering her eyes with her hands and screaming in agony. Employees of a nearby movie theater let him take her inside for treatment.

"I was treating her in a utility closet," he recalled.

They say their bond was catalyzed by the time, shortly thereafter, that they spent on the cinema's roof, ranting about police brutality.

"I think the main topic was 'F--- the police,' and how crazy it was, and how lucky we were that we got out when we did," said Dedrick, a teacher's aide from Albany.
A teacher's aide from Albany, huh? Um, so why isn't she back there teaching?

Michelle Obama Discovers Barack's Manhood

OK, that's my offering to a version of caption this. Have at it.

Obama Supporter Surrenders to Face Insider Trading Charges

Amazing how many of Obama's donors keep winding up under indictment, isn't it?
Rajat K. Gupta, a former Goldman Sachs director and McKinsey & Company managing director, surrendered to the Federal Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday morning to face charges of insider trading, the latest development in the government’s multiyear crackdown on illegal activity on Wall Street.

In charging Mr. Gupta, the government will tie up one of the biggest loose ends resulting from the investigation into the Galleon Group, which began nearly five years ago at the Securities and Exchange Commission. Since then, more than two dozen people have pleaded guilty or been convicted of swapping illegal tips around company earnings and other major corporate events. Raj Rajaratnam, the Galleon co-founder, was sentenced to 11 years in prison this month for making tens of millions of dollars by trading on confidential tips.
Rajaratnam is one of Obama's billionaire pals who also has some messy terror connections.

Of course the Times won't mention any connection to Obama. But we will.
The Indian-born, Harvard-educated Gupta also has served on the boards of Procter & Gamble and the parent company for American Airlines. He was a guest at President Barack Obama's first state dinner.
Naturally, he found himself a guest at a state dinner because of his generous supporter for Obama and his party.

'A Strong Stench Has Begun Rising From Occupy Boston’s Site'

A bunch of pigs marinating in their own filth. These malodorous mutants are just so offensive. Why must the public suffer through this depravity?
Food-borne illnesses, a flu outbreak, hypothermia, sexually transmitted diseases and vermin are just some of the hazards experts say make Occupy Boston a public health disaster waiting to happen — as City Hall turns a blind eye.

“The longer you’ve got a big group of people in an unsanitary location, the more at risk they’re going to be for infectious diseases. Time is only beginning to tell where this is going to go,” said Janelle Vaesa, a public health researcher who has studied similar deteriorating conditions at Occupy Wall Street in New York.

San Francisco health officials report they’ve subjected that city’s two Occupy sites to twice-daily inspections, and have found a rash of food, garbage and other sanitation issues.

Yet, even as a strong stench has begun rising from Occupy Boston’s site in the heart of the city and a weekend snowfall looms, the Boston Public Health Commission told the Herald yesterday it has no plans to inspect the month-old encampment, where dozens of activists are sleeping in abutting tents, without on-site toilets, and food donations are sitting in crates on wet ground, though hand sanitizer appears to be readily available.

BPHC spokeswoman Ann Scales said Boston will offer Occupiers a free on-site flu clinic Friday and is mindful of the potential for “pest infestation.” There are no plans to conduct health inspections, she said, though she noted, “From our standpoint, any time people are living in close quarters, the odds of transmittable diseases is there.”

After a Herald inquiry yesterday, the Inspectional Services Department will pay Occupy Boston a visit today to check out its makeshift food preparation area, spokeswoman Lisa Timberlake said. City officials said no permits have been issued to the tent city established by anti-corporate protesters who say they are modeling a new society.

Occupy Boston spokesman Nadeem Mazen said the camp’s food and sanitation committees have met with a city official to discuss health issues, and insisted the food preparation tent is a “professional operation,” where food handlers use gloves and no food is cooked. Of the potential for health problems in the densely occupied half-acre, he said, “I’d be more worried about getting sick from working in an old building with bad ventilation.”
Working. Something he'll obviously never have to concern himself with.

This is the decrepit mob Elizabeth Warren claims as her own. Good luck running on that, Lizzie.

Atlanta Occupied No More

Atlanta is occupied no more. Thank goodness the mayor ordered the police to take out the trash and let's hope they don't come back. These occupy folks have been nothing but rude, crude and immature ever since they appeared as a blight in Woodruff Park in downtown Atlanta and have been one of the largest collections of stupid assembled in one place I have ever witnessed.

Here is a short list of the stupid from this crowd in the days they staged their collective hissy fit.
1) Denied Rep John Lewis an opportunity to speak to them on Day One
2) Engaged in a mind numbing act called the human microphone where by the crowd in a scene straight out of every cult horror show from Hollywood would repeat word for word whatever a speaker said.
3) Staged a protest walk to a hospital in some sort of dispute over a homeless shelter thereby endangering people who may have needed attention at the hospital.
4) Staged daily afternoon protest walks designed to snarl afternoon rush hour traffic.
5) Planned to protest at a mall in the Buckhead area of Atlanta but only managed to get lost on the way and the few that made it were turned away at the doors by security guards.
6) In a final act of something that can only be described as a scene from Harry Potter they marched to the headquarters of Georgia Pacific, a company owned by the Koch brothers, and attempted to levitate the building. Yes levitate the building.

I hope they don't come back, but like a bad cold I have a feeling they are going to try to come back.

Occupy Atlanta Now Occupying Nothing

Maybe they can go re-occupy mommy's basement.
Woodruff Park remained quiet and empty early Wednesday morning after Atlanta police reclaimed the park, arresting 53 Occupy Atlanta protesters after multiple warnings.

Organizers had urged protesters who were not arrested to return to the park at 6 a.m., but there were none in the park at 7:30. About two dozen Atlanta police officers remained on the perimeter of the park, which was surrounded by 4-foot metal barricades.

Mayor Kasim Reed told reporters more than 100 officers were involved in the operation to clear the park, adding the protests, which started more than two weeks ago, had cost the city roughly $300,000.

Officers swarmed the park around 12:45 a.m. The arrests were orderly and peaceful, though some of the protesters had to dragged out. By 1:30 a.m. the park had been cleared and by 2 a.m. onlookers and demonstrators who watched from the perimeter had largely dispersed as police maintained a significant presence downtown.
Anyone notice a pattern of Democrat mayors in Democrat cities cracking down on these Democrat protesters?

The irony has escaped most media.

'A Lot of Tourists Coming Down From Hotels are So Disgusted and Disappointed When They See This'

It's not just the tourists disgusted by what they see. Most residents and Americans are grossly offended by this spectacle. How much longer must we endure this ugliness before the Democrats call off their dogs?
Fed up with petty crime, the all-night racket of beating drums, the smell of human waste, and the sight of trampled flowers and grass, police and neighbors are losing patience with some of the anti-Wall Street demonstrations around the United States.

In Oakland, Calif., police in riot gear fired tear gas and bean bags before daybreak Tuesday to disperse about 170 protesters who had been camping in front of City Hall for the last two weeks, and 75 people were arrested.

The mayor of Providence, R.I., is threatening to go to court to evict demonstrators from a park.

And businesses and residents near New York's Zuccotti Park, unofficial headquarters of the movement that began in mid-September, demand something be done to discourage the hundreds of protesters from urinating in the street and making noise at all hours.

"A lot of tourists coming down from hotels are so disgusted and disappointed when they see this," said Stacey Tzortzatos, manager of a sandwich shop near Zuccotti Park. "I hope for the sake of the city the mayor does close this down."

In Philadelphia, city officials have been waiting almost two weeks for Occupy Philly to respond to a letter containing a list of health and safety concerns. City Managing Director Richard Negrin said officials could not wait much longer to address hazards such as smoking in tightly packed tents, camp layouts that hinder emergency access, and exposure to human waste.

Negrin told The Inquirer on Tuesday night that Occupy organizers were meeting on the city's concerns, and said the situation was "evolving."

In Oakland, city officials had initially been supportive of the protesters. But tensions reached a boiling point after a sexual assault, a severe beating, and a fire were reported and paramedics were denied access to the camp, according to city officials.

When police moved in, they were pelted with rocks, bottles, and utensils, but no injuries were reported. Protesters were taken away in plastic handcuffs, most of them arrested on suspicion of illegal lodging.

Here are some of the "peaceful" protesters in Oakland.

SF Chron: Obama WH Has a 'Nixonian Quality'

We have to vehemently disagree with the leading editorial voice in America's most liberal city. This president is far, far worse than Richard Nixon.
The Obama White House's restrictions on media access to its fundraising events makes a mockery of its claim to be the most transparent administration in history.

If anything, there is almost a Nixonian quality to the level of control, paranoia - and lack of credibility - this White House has demonstrated on the issue of media access to President Obama's fundraisers.

Bay Area reporters will not be allowed inside the W Hotel today when the president meets with hundreds of contributors paying $7,500 or more to attend. Only Washington-based journalists were allowed in the pool - continuing a disturbing trend by this White House to severely limit access to fundraisers. Even former President George W. Bush, hardly a champion of transparency, allowed local reporters to cover his fundraising events.
Worse than Nixon, worse than Bush. Next thing you know they'll be talking Hitler.

Meanwhile, former Obama supporters were on hand protesting near one of the Campaigner-in-Chief's 437 fundraisers this week.

In a powerful display of profound disappointment with President Obama, some of the Democratic Party's biggest donors gathered Tuesday - not inside his tony San Francisco fundraiser at the W Hotel, but outside on the sidewalks carrying signs in protest of his policies.

"I don't even know what he stands for," said Susie Tompkins Buell, a co-founder of the Esprit clothing company and one of the most generous Democratic Party donors in the nation - instrumental in backing such powerhouse progressive organizations as the Democracy Alliance and Media Matters.
Wait, I thought Media Matters was an tax-exempt independent group (cough, cough)?

In case you had any doubt remaining he's 100% in campaign mode, Obama made sure to reinforce that image Tuesday. Nobody else is capable of caring for the children other than The One. Isn't he Onederful?
Not everything was sunshine and baby kisses for the Obama Nation, however. Fortunately, America's Daddy was long gone by the time Oakland police started tear-gassing his supporters last night.

Scenes From Zuccotti Park: 'We're Gonna Kill You!'

I hope they're chronicling all this good material for the long-anticipated book. This chapter should be near the end, right before the part where police shut the carnival down and sanity re-occupied Zuccotti Park.
Three men are wanted for threatening to kill a 24-year-old Occupy Wall Street protester because she was pressing charges over an assault at the group's Zuccotti Park encampment.

The young protester was roughed up at the Downtown sit-in by a man named Garfield Leslie, 19, police said Tuesday.

Leslie offered to sell the woman drugs, and when she declined that offer and his romantic advances, he punched her in the face and dished out more blows to two friends who had come to her defense, police said.

The woman filed a complaint with police, and Leslie was arrested at Zuccotti Park about 8 p.m. on Saturday.

Then, on Monday, the trio of young toughs paid the woman a visit at the park, threatening her with retribution.

"You got our friend arrested. We're gonna kill you! Watch you back!" they warned her, police said.
Watch you back? Boy, I hope that's a typo. Otherwise Reverend Sharpton will be paying a visit.
Police on Tuesday released grainy surveillance camera images of the three punks.

All were described by police as being black, roughly 18 to 20 years-old and 5-foot-9 or shorter. One had black hair and a beard; another had dreadlocks with red streaks in them; and the third wore a white shirt with the words "Stone Harbor" printed on the front.

Leslie, of Brooklyn, was charged with assault and harassment, police said.

The assault and the watch-your-back threat were far from the first signs of criminal troubles within the Occupy Wall Street ranks.
Yes, despite daily crime reports, this "movement" somehow soldiers on.

It would be nice if we had a mayor in New York who had a clue.
Police have made a total of 966 protest-related arrests since the movement started in September.
Just like the Tea Party.

Are You Ready for Occupy Wall Street: The Book?

Should be a very short story. The "movement" will surely be consigned to the dustbin of history by the time they plan to have this published.
Progressive publishing house OR Books will release a 200-page first draft of a history entitled Occupying Wall Street: The Inside Story of an Action That Changed America as soon as December 17, using volunteers from the movement's Education and Empowerment Committee, and including work by both "sympathetic writers and people who are active in the occupation," OR co-founder Colin Robinson told New York. The book's release date will mark the protest's three-month anniversary — assuming it survives the onset of winter. By then, the demonstrations will have already have been the subject of an MTV special and plenty of news coverage, but Robinson hopes his "interventionist book" will provide the most extensive chronicling so far. "Although you can't deliver definitive opinions at the moment or set out a course of action, you can record the details of what has happened so far in Zuccotti Park," he said.
I suspect the raging anti-Semitism and defecating won't be mentioned.

I like that part about the action that changed America. Feeling gradiose, aren't we?
Robinson sees the movement as "creating an alternative society in the middle of the financial center of the world," and wants to mirror that "openness and horizontal democracy" in the book's creation, but admits that's impossible to achieve completely. "I don't think you can write a book like that," he said, bristling at the possibility of calling the book an "authorized" account. "At a certain point people have to go away and write it," he said. "You can't approve every sentence. But we'll try to be as open about the process as we can." The idea for the book has not been presented at the movement's nightly general assembly meetings, but Robinson said there has been "a fair amount of support for the idea" among organizers.
I'm thinking this will be bogged down in committee.
While the book will touch on the most newsworthy moments, including the pepper-spray incidents, Brooklyn Bridge arrests, and city cleanup face-off, Robinson is also hoping to capture "quotidian detail," including "how the general assembly works, how the kitchen works, how security works," and so on.
Riveting stuff.

Transparency: Obama Freezes Out Local Reporters From SF Fundraiser

What is he so afraid of, getting a tough question?
President Obama is scheduled to appear before hundreds of donors at a $7,500-a-plate noontime fundraiser today at San Francisco's W Hotel - but not a single local reporter will be allowed inside to cover his only stop in the area, the White House said Monday.

Coverage instead is being restricted to a small pool of Washington-based reporters - a move that is a sharp departure from the practices of past administrations, political observers said.

Three former top White House press aides called the move insular and politically short-sighted. And some press watchers said it is hypocritical for an administration that Obama promised would be "the most transparent in history."

The White House declined Monday to say why no local reporters would be allowed to attend today's event, nor whether the ban on local media was part of a new national policy.

"As per usual, the White House traveling press pool will cover the President's remarks at his Bay Area campaign event and a transcript of his speech will be circulated to local and national media outlets," White House spokesman Adam Abrams wrote in an e-mail response to The Chronicle.

But barring local reporters from presidential events is not usual at all, according to veterans of past White House press operations and longtime Bay Area journalists.

Until recently, The Chronicle and other Bay Area papers including the Oakland Tribune and the San Jose Mercury News regularly served as local pool reporters in their home regions, feeding coverage of events to other media. Local journalists generally know big-monied donors and political players best.

Nicolle Wallace, a former press secretary to Republican President George W. Bush, called the ban "idiotic ... inexplicable on the politics side, let alone the press side."

"For a Democrat to go to San Francisco and not invite the local press is like George W. Bush going to Crawford, Texas" and doing the same, she said. "This is a place where people want to be reminded about what they love about the guy."

Chris Lehane, a former spokesman for Democratic President Bill Clinton, was also baffled by the move, saying they always had local pools.

"It's not only the right thing to do in terms of respecting the Fourth Estate, but it typically translates into better press coverage," he said. "It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that access results in the occupying of more real estate in the newspaper and on television."
Just imagine if Bush pulled such a pussy move.
"It seems the Obama campaign has calculated that taking a small hit from political reporters being denied access is a safer course of action than opening the event to reporters and cameras and risking an embarrassing YouTube moment," said former longtime KTVU-TV political editor Randy Shandobil.

Middle-Class Warrior Ties Up LA Traffic As He Stops For Chicken and Waffles on Way to Lavish Fundraiser

Nothing like showing you're a man of the people as you stop to schmooze at a chicken and waffle joint. On your way to a $35,000 a head fundraiser with the wealthiest 1%. I wonder if Moochelle knows he was sneaking some chicken and waffles, which when you think of it is the perfect meal for this chump.
President Obama's fundraising swing through Los Angeles made for a tougher afternoon commute for some motorists on Monday.

The traffic problems were most intense in Hancock Park and Mid-City, with east-west commuters facing some delays. A portion of Wilshire Boulevard and adjacent 6th Street were shutdown for several hours, jamming other streets linking downtown and the Westside.

On top of that, Obama made an unscheduled stop at Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles on Pico Boulevard.

Booths full of early-dinner diners craned their necks to see Obama, who was at the counter ordering for himself and nearby aides, including Valerie Jarrett, Jay Carney, David Plouffe and Marvin Nicholson. With him was Rep. Karen Bass (D-Los Angeles), who represents the area in the House.

Among other items, Obama reportedly ordered the No. 9, “Country Boy” -- three wings with choice of waffle, potato salad or French fries -- which cost $8.90, according to the menu. He quickly moved to the cashier.

The president, sans suit coat and with his shirt sleeves rolled up, then walked to one side of the restaurant and greeted the diners in each vinyl-covered booth.

Obama attended two events that evening.

At an intimate fundraising dinner in Hancock Park, Obama spoke softly to a few dozen supporters who had paid $35,800 each to greet him.

'Michelle’s Spitting Mad'

Aw, poor Moochelle. While America's Nutritionist gets fawning, slobbering coverage from most every media outlet, when someone dares to point out she can't stop shoveling food into her piehole, then there's hell to pay. Look out, folks: The Tower of Glower is angry!
First lady MICHLLE OBAMA fuming as PAULA DEEN dishes on her unhealthy eating habits despite new book “American Grown” PR blitz!

MICHELLE OBAMA is now furious with Southern cooking queen PAULA DEEN for crowing that the first lady, a healthy-eating advocate who’s waging a war against childhood obesity, pigs out on fattening foods.

While plugging her new book, “Paula Deen’s Southern Cooking Bible,” the feisty TV chef took a pot shot at Michelle for gorging herself on greasy french fries, fatty hot chicken wings and sugary deep-fried Snickers bars!

“Michelle’s spitting mad,” a source told The ENQUIRER.

“She thinks Paula is trying to smear her and her family just as the 2012 presidential election race swings into gear.”
So now pointing out the obvious is a smear? Good grief, these people are such babies.
“She’s no different than the rest of us,” Paula said about Michelle in a new interview.

Paula added: “She probably ate more than any other guest I ever had on the show! She kept eating even during commercials. Know what (the Obamas’) favorite foods are? Hot wings. Y’know – those kinds of foods that aren’t necessarily top-of-the-list healthy foods.”

“Michelle now deeply regrets ever being on Paula’s show,” added the source. “There are a lot of digs she would have been able to brush off, but portraying her as a high-calorie gorger during her crusade for healthy eating is crossing the line.”
The truth hurts, doesn't it, Moochelle?

Sniveling Biden Still Whining About Jason Mattera Asking Tough Questions; Update: Mattera Responds

What a baby this guy is. He runs around claiming there will be an increase in rapes if Obama's tax increase isn't passed, then when questioned about he runs away like a frightened little girl. Now he's officially complaining about it.

Man up, Joe.
Joe Biden’s office has complained to the Senate press gallery about a confrontation the vice president had with a conservative journalist last week on Capitol Hill.

Biden aides asked whether Senate rules were broken in the wake of the contentious exchange between the vice president and the reporter.

Jason Mattera, who works for Human Events, a conservative magazine, used a pretext to catch Biden off guard in a Senate hallway and grill him on claims the vice president has made about jobs legislation.

Biden’s office has also contacted the standing committee of correspondents, which oversees the gallery, regarding whether Mattera broke the rules by ambushing him.

Heather Rothman, the chairwoman of the gallery’s standing committee, said the matter is under review.

“We’re aware of the concerns,” said Rothman, a reporter for BNA. “It’s being discussed.

“We’re aware this occurred and the vice president’s office [has made] contact,” she added, noting the standing committee itself hasn’t met to deliberate the issue.

The video of Wednesday’s exchange went viral, as news outlets and the Drudge Report highlighted Biden’s comment to Mattera: “Don’t screw around with me.”

CNN aired a segment — including footage of the incident — the same afternoon, and a YouTube clip of the interview has already attracted more than 380,000 views.

Biden had just left a rousing rally where Democratic leaders said Republican opposition to federal funding for police and firefighters threatened public safety. But the cable news coverage focused on the dust-up between Biden and Mattera.

Biden’s visible irritation might be explained by how he was lured into the short interview.
Lured into the interview? Please. The idiot thought it was a photo op and wasn't prepared for any questions. Too damn bad, Plugs.

All he and Obama want are pre-packaged questions they already know the answers to. They're unable to think on their feet and come off looking like schmucks otherwise. Now that he's whining about it he looks even worse.
Mattera admits to using a pretext to momentarily disarm Biden, but argues his methods were justified.

“ABC and CBS have done undercover sting operations and have done them for decades. The fact that a conservative publication goes after a public official who was misrepresenting himself and a Senate bill to the public and tries to get an answer from him, that’s great,” he said in an interview Monday.

“The media should take notice that this is how you ask a question. If I had said, ‘Hey, Mr. Vice President, a question regarding your rape comments,’ he would shrug it off.

“He’s not going to take questions hostile to his agenda. I want to get him in that honest moment when he doesn’t have his talking points and isn’t prepared to spin,” Mattera added.

Mattera said his technique is “premised on looking to get the most honest reaction from politicians used to conning the media daily — and even their constituents.”

“You shouldn’t play patty-cake with politicians to gain access,” he said.
Funny, but Biden played such a tough guy during the interview. Then like a little worm he complains behind the scenes.

Since the network news outlets ignored this dust-up, Biden's best recourse would be to forget about it. He looked like and idiot, but then again he does that every day.

He just can't accept the fact he lost badly.

Update: I reached Mattera and he states simply:
The Obama Administration wants to take me on? Okay, fine. Bring it. My press credentials are a little something, something called the First Amendment.
Also, John Hayward lays the smackdown.

Police Shutting Down Occupy Oakland Mess

A good time to strike. All these maggots probably just passed out and should offer little resistance.
Oakland police have moved in this morning, beginning to arrest some of the hundreds of people from a plaza outside City Hall, two weeks after the protesters began building an intricate encampment as part of the Occupy Wall Street movement against corporate greed and economic inequality.

Shortly before 5 a.m., officers began making arrests.

Fifteen minutes earlier, officers in riot helmets began arriving at Frank Ogawa Plaza at the corner of 14th Street and Broadway at 4:45 a.m. and formed a line in the street adjacent to the plaza. Some protesters began shouting, "Cops, go home!"

Protesters pulled a Dumpster into the middle of the intersection, and officers quickly pushed it to the side of the road.

At 4:40 a.m., an officer used a public-address system to warn protesters that they would be making arrests if they did not leave the plaza.

"Attention all persons in Frank Ogawa Plaza. It has been determined you are illegally blocking Frank Ogawa Plaza and are the subject to arrest," said the officer, who ordered protesters to remove their belongings, secure their dogs and exit toward Telegraph Avenue. "Those remaining in the park will be arrested," he said.

The officer further warned that those who did not comply could, besides being arrested, face other "police action" that could result in injury.

At 4:50 a.m., some loud bangs were heard after officers lobbed "flash-bang" grenades, and smoke rose into the air. Officers on motorcycles began converging on the street corner while officers on foot began putting on gas masks. A police helicopter flew overhead with its spotlight on.
One of the many upsides to this police action is we'll be spared more of these romanticized news stories of the human debris.
No single face represents the elaborate encampment outside Oakland City Hall that inhabitants call an experiment in antiauthoritarian living.

Instead, two weeks after the first tent went up - and four days after the city gave its first eviction order - the plaza on Monday held a spicy stew of idealists and anarchists, angry middle-class workers and aging radicals, peaceniks and provocateurs, the jobless and the homeless, plus some people who just want to party.
Were Tea Party rallies every called a spicy stew? Of course not. They were just called racist, over and over and over again.
