The Hamas goons are pleading for mercy now that they're unable to stop the Israelis from beating their sorry asses up and down Gaza.

Hamas Seeks Truce Talks With Israel

Gaza's embattled Hamas leaders are seeking a cease-fire after months of Israeli attacks and sanctions, going so far as to make an unprecedented appeal through the Israeli media, a Hamas official confirmed Wednesday.

The overture, which the Hamas leader made Tuesday through an Israeli reporter, followed an especially bloody day in which the Israeli air force killed 12 militants, including a top commander.

Despite calls for a cease-fire within his Cabinet, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert pledged to continue targeting the leaders of militant groups who fire rockets into southern Israel almost daily.

Aww, the poor things.

In other words, they're pleading with Israel to stop wiping out their top terror thugs while they futilely try to regroup.

Thankfully, the Israelis aren't biting.

Israel has rejected a ceasefire offer from the Islamic militant group Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip. Robert Berger reports from the VOA bureau in Jerusalem.

Hamas offered Israel the truce a day after 13 Palestinian militants, including two top commanders, were killed in a wave of Israeli air strikes in Gaza. Israel launched the raids in response to daily Palestinian rocket attacks.

Hamas official Ghazi Hamad said the ball is in Israel's court.

Hamad told Israel Radio that it takes two parties to make a truce, and Israel should take the first step. He said if Israel stops incursions, assassinations and air strikes, the Palestinians would halt rocket attacks.

But after months of rocket fire on its border communities, Israel is no hurry for a truce, especially after inflicting serious damage on militants in the latest air strikes.

These nihilistic animals sure talk a tough game, but when they're getting waxed on a daily basis, then they want to talk peace.

Here's a suggestion: Recognize Israel and stop murdering innocent people. It's pretty simple.

Until then, drop dead.
