Parents who want to stop their children from picking up and playing with their gadgets can now buy a child-friendly alternative for £19.99.My tot loves electronic gadgets such as the Leapster and his toy cell phones so a device such as this I have no qualms with it. Kids at 3 and 4 years old can already navigate around on PC's so it's not as if they won't find such a toy useful and educational.
Dubbed the 'BlackBerry for babies' the 'Text and Learn' device from LeapFrog looks like an over-sized PDA and is designed for children as young as three-years-old.
The gadget helps youngsters learn how to 'browse' and 'text' without going online, allaying parental fears of their children being contacted by strangers or cyber-bullies.
The educational toy has a full qwerty keyboard and large LCD screen and allows children to send 'text messages' to a virtual puppy pal called Scout.
Although it doesn't connect to the Internet the gadget does have a pretend 'browser' mode.

Finally: 'BlackBerry for Babies'
A little something for that toddler techno-geek, a Baby BlackBerry to call their own. I really don't have a problem with this so long as they're not using it during meetings and while driving.
