Posing naked for Cosmopolitan in 1982 was less embarrassing for Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown than what he wore on the first date with his future wife, Gail Huff -- pink leather shorts. Vanity Fair's Web site got a peek at a profile of Brown in Sunday's New York Times, in which the former male model explains he got the $750 shorts after wearing them in a fashion show. "If I wore these now, I'd get shot. But it was the '80s. Pastels were in." He paired the shorts with white shoes. "Gail comes out, and she's like, 'Those are pink shorts.' I said: 'Yeah, you like them? They're great. Comfortable. Feel this leather.' "

'If I Wore These Now, I'd Get Shot'
Actually, Senator, if you wore pink shorts now you'd probably have a fanboy in Andrew Sullivan.
