Ledger Live: What happens when the ice cream man is an illegal immigrant? |
A tear-jerking tale of poor "unauthorized immigrants" forced into the shadows because they can't get proper permits to sell ice cream in a Democratic stronghold. Maybe Holder and Obama can sure their pal Cory Booker.
Interesting how the woman from Uruguay has no problem giving her name yet it's curious she's here five years and can't speak a word of English. Guess she's having a problem assimilating or something.
While the state of Arizona has sparked a national firestorm over its tough new immigration law, the City of Newark has quietly turned up the heat on another group of unauthorized foreigners: pushcart ice cream vendors.I love how every mention of SB 1070 is always prefaced with "controversial" or, in this case how it's sparked a "national firestorm." Well, if 70% of the public favors the law, how is that so controversial? The only firestorm I see it creating is resentment toward the federal government by the overwhelming majority for the refusal to enforce border control.
