TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey Republicans are cashing in on their biggest star: Gov. Chris Christie.(In case you are wondering, I take a size medium).
While failed U.S. Senate candidate Alvin Greene of South Carolina hoped to create jobs by manufacturing action figures of himself, a Christie line of merchandise is generating revenue for the state GOP party.
"He's a rock star and New Jersey rarely produces one," said political scientist Patrick Murray of Monmouth University. "You're not going to just sell these things to New Jerseyans. This guy's got a national reputation."
The available products include T-shirts, mugs and lapel pins. Each features a silhouette of New Jersey and the words "Chris Christie, governor" in blue, white or gold. The clothing is navy blue.
Prices start at $2.95 for a bumper sticker and climb to $45.95 for a hooded sweat shirt.
Speaking of Marc Lamont Hill, here he is blathering on yet again about Christie's weight and how it somehow prevents him from being a serious Presidential contender - even though he's otherwise a swell guy.
Really? As I recall Bubba was on the flabby side - and he managed to last for two insufferable terms.
I don't see a problem.
Is it just me, or does Meghan McCain's political analysis suddenly seem sharper and more insightful?
