Relax, It's Still Cool To Beat Up White Folks

Most people are aware by now of a beating of what has been revealed was a transgendered woman at a McDonalds in Baltimore. Now comes word that the police and prosecutors are looking into charging the two women involved with a hate crime. No, not because the attack was black on white but rather because the victim was transgender.

You see white folks ain't on a protected list so it is still open season on them. Do you see the flaw in these so-called hate crime laws?

In Atlanta they had a gang of about 20 youths, all black, attack two Delta employees aboard the commuter train. While little is known about the victims this is not being classified as a hate crime.

Finally: Corrupt Democrat Mayor of Baltimore Resigns

Well, it's about time. The mayor of Baltimore and a big Obama supporter has finally called it quits. Well, if by quit you mean leaving office is the result of a plea bargain reached with the judge and the prosecutors in the wake of a conviction for perjury and stealing from the poor.

Mayor Sheila Dixon resigned as part of a deal with prosecutors Wednesday, ending a three-year tenure that began with promise but unraveled amid embarrassing allegations that she stole from the poor.

Dixon, 56, was convicted last month of misappropriating about $500 in gift cards donated to the city for needy families during her time as City Council president. Had she not agreed to step down, she could have been thrown out of office.

On Wednesday, she pleaded guilty to a perjury charge for failing to disclose thousands of dollars in gifts from her ex-boyfriend, a developer who received tax breaks from the city. She entered an Alford plea, meaning she admits there is enough evidence to convict her but does not acknowledge guilt.

Dixon's voice wavered as she thanked her staff, but she did not apologize for her actions.

Being a Democrat means never having to say you're sorry. It also means you can abuse the very people you pledge to protect and look out for. This, of course, clears the way for her to now accept an appointment into the inner circle of the Obama administration.

Still, she proves there is no better work then government work. She gets to keep her pension, reportedly worth about $83,000 a year.

The deal also allows her to keep her city pension, which she would have had to forfeit with a conviction on her record. The Baltimore Sun reported the pension was worth $83,000, but the figure couldn't immediately be confirmed by The Associated Press.

This whole sordid affair began last January.

Sure has been a bad couple of days for Democrat politicians, hasn't it?

Baltimore Mayor Guilty On One Count

The verdicts are in in the trial of Baltimore mayor and Obama supporter Sheila Dixon, and she seems to have beaten most of the more serious charges. She was only found guilty on one count, using gift cards intended for the poor.

Baltimore's mayor was convicted Tuesday on a single charge she took gift cards intended for the city's poor. Although Sheila Dixon was acquitted of a felony theft charge, her conviction could force her from office.

Jurors deliberated more than six days after hearing the Democrat accused of using or keeping $630 worth of gift cards. She allegedly solicited most of the cards from a wealthy developer and then bought electronics at Best Buy, clothes at Old Navy and knickknacks at Target.

Ms. Dixon has been under investigation ever since she served on the City Council for various violations of ethics or other integrity issues. Since she is a Democrat, she of course ascribes to the policy that rules and regulations were made for the little people and not her. For other examples, refer to Charlie Rangel, Chris Dodd or Barney Frank.

The gift card case has revived talk of Dixon's perceived sense of entitlement. Her critics point to a pattern of behavior that suggests she thinks rules don't apply to her. When she became City Council president in 1999, the state ethics commission advised her to step down from her part-time state government job, saying it raised potential conflicts of interest. Dixon kept the second job for more than two years.

She also steered city business to a company that employed her sister. And the city paid Dixon's campaign chairman, without a contract, to do computer work at City Hall.

She has certainly dodged most of the serious charges that were made against her and now it will be up to the city council to take action, and they will probably wait until a sentence is imposed before making any decision.

Something Smells Bad In Baltimore

And it ain't Ray Lewis.

Late yesterday word came out that the Baltimore City State Attorney's office is looking into bringing charges against the couple who went undercover into the ACORN offices and got them on tape giving them advice on how to hide the girls profession as a prostitute, how to dodge taxes, and turning a deaf ear to the fact that they wanted to import underage girls from a South American country to use as prostitutes.

ACORN of course claimed it was an isolated incident and didn't reflect the professionalism of their organization, yadda, yadda, yadda. Then the next day a video came out of the same thing happening in the Washington DC office of ACORN. ACORN fired the two employees in Baltimore and I am sure they expect this go away.

The census bureau has now pulled their contracts with ACORN also.

It appears somebody made a phone call, or maybe not, and this public servant was acting with the same zeal as the lady in Ohio who decided on her own to investigate the background of one Joseph Wierzelbacker, "Joe the Plumber" after he confronted candidate Obama about his plans to redistribute the wealth.

The public servant in question is the Baltimore City State Attorney, Patricia Jessamy.

Now that I have brought you up to speed on the story so far, I wanted to add my little bit to the storyline.

Earlier this year the mayor of Baltimore, Sheila Dixon, was indicted for corruption charges. She too was a big Obama supporter.

So when Glenn Beck says he had an epiphany and realized that the number one issue we as Americans need to attack is corruption, it appears once again he might be on the right track.

The big credit for breaking this story goes to Andrew Breitbart who launched his new blog Big Government this week with this story. He certainly knows how to make a splash at a debut.

It will be interesting how long the dinosaur news media can remain silent on this matter.

Baltimore Mayor Indicted on Corruption Charges

I first got this as a tip from a "tweet" from a CNN reporter.

CNNRick CNN confirms Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon indicted on corruption charges. She'll hold a news conference to reax this afternoon at 4p est.

I immediately went to work to see which party Mayor Sheila Dixon belongs to. As soon as I started playing the "Name That Party" game, I had a good idea.

First off here's an article which outlines some of the issues that she was being investigated for. No mention in the entire two page article.

Then I went to her web site. Wait, what is that I see? A picture of her at an Obama rally. Still no mention of what political party she belongs to.

I saw the link to endorsements on the main page and sure enough, she has all the union endorsements a good Democrat would want.

At this point I am willing to go out on a limb and say she is a Democrat.

The State Prosecutor's Office says a grand jury has indicted Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon on 12 counts, including perjury, theft and misconduct in office.

The prosecutor's office announced the indictment on its Web site on the final day of a four-month grand jury session in which a City Council member and a prominent developer who once dated the mayor were indicted on public corruption charges.

The hits just keep coming for the Democrats but where is all the media coverage?

Here is Mayor Dixon's statement on this matter.

"There is something I want to tell the citizens of this great city about the charges that the state prosecutor has brought against me today.

For the past two years, I have done my best to serve the city of Baltimore as mayor, and I will continue to do so. I will not let these charges deter me from keeping Baltimore on the path that we have set, or from carrying forward the significant progress we have made thus far.

I am being unfairly accused. Time will prove that I have done nothing wrong, and I am confident that I will be found innocent of these charges. But, for the moment, I cannot comment further on the allegations that have been made against me. Instead, my attorneys will address these matters on my behalf.

I want to make it clear, though, that I will continue to put all of my energies into running the city of Baltimore during these perilous economic times. And with God's grace, I am confident that the city, my family and I will weather this storm."

Quagmire in Baltimore

Until the Democrats who control the city of Baltimore and the state of Maryland can meet certain milestones in controlling the insurgency, I urge the federal government to cut off funding and set firm timetables for U.S. withdrawal from this intractable civil war.

BALTIMORE - A city council leader, alarmed by Baltimore's rising homicide rate, wants to give the mayor the power to put troubled neighborhoods under virtual lockdown.

"Desperate measures are needed when we're in desperate situations," City Council Vice President Robert W. Curran told The (Baltimore) Sun. He said he would introduce the legislation next week.

Under Curran's plan, the mayor could declare "public safety act zones," which would allow police to close liquor stores and bars, limit the number of people on city sidewalks, and halt traffic during two-week intervals.

Police would be encouraged to aggressively stop and frisk individuals in those zones to search for weapons and drugs.

Baltimore has tallied 108 homicides already this year, compared to 98 over the same period last year. Police and prosecutors also say they are facing a "stop snitching" culture that discourages victims and witnesses from cooperating with investigators trying to get criminals off the streets.

Councilman Keiffer J. Mitchell Jr., a mayoral hopeful, said Curran's idea was an interesting concept but it raised questions about civil liberties.

"We have to make sure we're not declaring martial law," he said.

Mayor Sheila Dixon had a lukewarm response after meeting with Curran on Wednesday, but she said she might support the idea with some changes.

Baltimoron Apologizes for Limbaugh Quip

Well, I doubt Robert Murrow is really sincere in his apology, but since all the publicity made him look really stupid, I don't think he had much choice.

"I am very upset about that comment, and I've let him know I'm very upset about that comment," Kocher said. "It's his personal comment, and it's wrong. It does not belong out there in any kind of official capacity. As far as I'm concerned, he was not speaking for the department.

"I don't care if it's Rush Limbaugh, Michael Moore or Britney Spears. You don't deface anything - period. And you don't endorse defacing anything - period."

Kocher said Murrow had "deeply apologized."

Mayor Sheila Dixon issued a written statement.

"While this employee identified himself as a spokesperson for the Department of Public Works ... his statement does not represent the position of the City Government or my feelings as Mayor," Dixon is quoted saying. "Whether they occur on public or private property, I take all acts of vandalism seriously."
