Barney Frank Freaks Out Over Eric Cantor Singing the Praises of Bush

The ugly, angry left has spent the better part of the past 24 hours doing a victory lap over the killing of Osama bin Laden, as summarized nicely here. We've come to expect this. These are the same people who derided George W. Bush for reading to kids during the attacks on 9/11. So they tried to score cheap political points on 9/11 and then again they day bin Laden died. None of this comes as any surprise. These are vicious, ugly people, so expect nothing less.

So we have to wonder what planet Barney Frank is living on when he freaks out over Eric Cantor paying proper homage to George W. Bush on the day when it's revealed the interrogation tactics he put in place helped eventually lead to bin Laden's whereabouts.

I guess Frank instead expected Cantor to get on his knees and bow before Obama?

Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) accused House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) of injecting partisanship Monday into his reaction to news of Osama bin Laden's death.

Frank, a senior Democrat with a signature blunt style, said that Cantor had adopted a partisan tone when, in a statement congratulating President Obama on the death of bin Laden, the second-ranking House Republican said Obama had "followed the vigilance of President Bush in bringing Bin Laden to justice."

"Let’s give discredit where it is due," Frank told the liberal blog ThinkProgress. "For Eric Cantor to phrase it that way, to say [Obama] followed the vigilance of President Bush is a degree of key partisanship that exceeded what I even expected from Cantor. That’s just sad."

Cantor's statement wasn't much different from those made by other Republicans on Monday. Many GOP lawmakers took care to both congratulate and praise Obama and former President George W. Bush for the successful assassination of bin Laden.

The Virginia Republican echoed that sentiment Monday afternoon on Capitol Hill.

"Nearly 10 years ago, President Bush stood before the nation after 9/11 and pledged to the American people that we will not tire, we will not falter and we will not fail in our quest to defeat those who intend to do us harm through acts of terror," he said alongside other GOP leaders. "Last night, we heard President Obama tell a very changed nation that we did not fail."

Republicans say they're not the only one injecting politics into the situation; they say Frank's statement itself politicizes the debate, and that he and Reps. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) and Gary Ackerman (D-N.Y.), who each issued politically-tinged statements claiming credit for Obama, should recognize Bush's role in bin Laden's capture, as Republicans have.

Eric Cantor: Um, Yeah, I Think Obama Was Born Here

The media is doing their best to perpetuate the "birther" issue. Funny, but none of them seem the least bit interested in actually seeing Obama birth certificate. They want to keep this up to portray the doubters as crazy. Eric Cantor, for one, isn't playing along.

The new Republican House majority leader says he doesn't think questions about President Barack Obama's citizenship should play a role in the discussion of policy matters.

Two years into the Obama administration, so-called birthers continue to argue that Obama isn't a natural-born citizen and that he hasn't proved he's constitutionally qualified to be president. Birth records in Hawaii haven't dissuaded them.

Of course nobody can find those records, but let's move on or something.

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor says he believes Obama is a citizen and that most Americans are beyond that question.

Appearing Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press," Cantor refused to call people who question Obama's citizenship "crazy," saying it's not nice to call anyone crazy.

This could all be put to rest if Obama just showed his birth certificate. But he wants to keep this as an issue. Why that so hard for anyone to figure out escapes us.

Update: This makes sense. Obama was born in Hawaii, but never legally changed his named back to Obama after being named Soetoro.

I honestly and truly believe this solves the entire mystery.

It is seriously this straightforward.

* Obama was indeed born in Hawaii in 1961

* Obama was indeed adopted by Lolo Soetoro in the 1970s

* Obama’s name was indeed changed to Barry Soetoro in the 1970s

* Obama’s birth certificate was altered per Hawaiian law to reflect his new name in the 1970s

* Obama never changed his name back to “Barack Hussein Obama, Jr.” — most likely because he used “Barry Soetoro” on all of his student aid applications for college, and probably received foreign student grants and admissions assistance playing off his years living in Indonesia

* All the records, transcripts, documents, and paperwork Obama continues to hide from the public is all hidden because it lists his name as “Barry Soetoro” on all of it.

* Obama will not allow his birth certificate to be released because it lists the “wrong” name on it: Barry Soetoro

It is as simple as this, folks.

Philadelphia Man Charged With Threatening to Kill Eric Cantor; (Update) Special Added Bonus: He's an Obama Donor

I blame this on the climate of hate engineered by the left.

Today, a two-count complaint and warrant was filed charging Norman Leboon with threatening to kill United States Congressman Eric Cantor and his family, and threatening to kill Congressman Eric Cantor, who is an official of the United States, announced United States Attorney Michael L. Levy and FBI Special Agent in Charge Jan Fedarcyk. As set forth in the affidavit to the complaint and warrant, in or about late March, 2010, Leboon created and then transmitted a YouTube video to Google over the internet, in which he threatened to kill Congressman Cantor and his family. No harm came to the Congressman or his family as a result of Leboon's threats.

Funny how there hasn't been a single arrest resulting from any of the alleged acts of violence against Democrats of late but here we have a real incident resulting in an arrest.

WaPo reports the story. No mention that he's 1) a Muslim or 2) an Obama donor. Recall after that nutjob flew a plane into the IRS building in Austin last month a WaPo columnist immediately insinuated he sounded like a Tea Partier. Now we have evidence he's a Muslim Obama donor and pfft, nothing. Same at MSNBC. Same at CNN. Same at Politico.

We'll assume whoever did this is anti-Semitic as well since GOP Congressman Eric Cantor is Jewish.

Republican Rep. Eric Cantor's Richmond campaign office was shot at Wednesday night, Fox News has learned, the latest in a rash of apparent threats and acts of intimidation against members of Congress.

Since we have no evidence this was done by Obama and Pelosi supporters we'll just have to use the drive-by media template and jump to conclusions and declare it so. Just another in the long line of attacks on Republicans, fostered by the climate of hate engineered by the left.

As House Republican whip, Cantor is the highest elected Jewish politician in the country.

The Department of Homeland Security is involved in the Cantor case because he is a member of the House leadership.

Fox News has also obtained a threatening message left Friday on the voicemail of Rep. Jean Schmidt, R-Ohio.

Obviously this will be the top story on all the networks tonight and will be immediately condemned by Democrats and leftwing blogs. Three weeks ago Kentucky Senator Jim Bunning received numerous death threats yet those were hardly noticed by the state-controlled Obama media.

I haven't seen any press in Virginia about that event happening. We need to see if this is true, or if this is part of the Rovian tactic to claim that your opponents are doing something that they aren't doing. He also claimed that he has received "many emails" that are threatening due to his no vote on health care, but that he won't release them because he doesn't want to "fan the flames of hate".

They're trying to turn the story of tea party violence into a "bipartisan hate" story to deflect from themselves. It's time to verify his story!

Dangerously Naive: Obama Wants 'Serious, Meaningful Dialogue' With Iran

I see dumb people

The mind boggles at how naive this guy is. OK, well if he's not naive then he's downright reckless and dangerous. You cannot have serious dialogue with madmen. Is that too complex a notion to understand?

President Barack Obama is offering Iran "a serious, meaningful dialogue" over its disputed nuclear program, while warning Tehran of grave consequences from a united global front.

"Iran's leaders must now choose — they can live up to their responsibilities and achieve integration with the community of nations. Or they will face increased pressure and isolation, and deny opportunity to their own people," Obama said in his radio and Internet address Saturday.

Hours later, Iran's nuclear chief told state TV that his country would allow the U.N. nuclear agency to inspect Iran's newly revealed and still unfinished uranium enrichment facility. Ali Akbar Salehi didn't specify when inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency could visit. He said the timing would be worked out with the U.N. watchdog.

Obama said in his address that evidence of Iran's building the underground plant "continues a disturbing pattern of Iranian evasion" that jeopardizes global nonproliferation.

At least someone in Congress see how futile this dialogue nonsense is.

Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.), the No. 2 Republican in the House, said Iran is a "real-time security threat to the United States, Israel and our allies around the world."

He said the nuke discovery "leaves little doubt that terrorist nations are not to be trusted or negotiated with diplomatically."

It might be time for Plan B, Bammy.

From the start, the president has been adamant about coddling Iran's head thug, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and pursuing diplomatic talks.

Even after the International Atomic Energy Agency confirmed the second site yesterday, Obama pledged his commitment to "meaningful engagement" and "dialogue." (Heads up: A mushroom cloud is a powerful bargaining chip.)

When Ahmadinejad stole re-election and violently crushed dissidents, Obama sat on his hands.

When the prez decided to scrap a US missile shield in Eastern Europe, aimed at defeating possible nuke-tipped Iranian missiles, he cited intelligence showing the Iranian nuclear threat wasn't as grave as thought.

(How, exactly, does that square with news of Iran's secret enrichment site?)

And this week, after the UN Security Council adopted an anti-nuclear-proliferation "resolution" that left out any mention of Iran, it took French President Nicolas Sarkozy to express shock: "How," he asked "could we justify meeting without tackling" Iran's nukes?

Now, in light of yesterday's revelation, Obama's nine-month course seems almost suicidal. Surely this second site means Iran is closer to having a bomb than most knew.

That it's on a military base makes it harder for Iran to claim it's for peaceful purposes -- and perhaps tougher to take out by force, if need be.

And the secrecy around it proves that Iran won't ever "talk" honestly with the "international community."

Let's face it: Negotiating isn't likely to work. Obama needs a Plan B. Pronto.

Cantor Contrasts Obama With Putin

This is unfair of Eric Cantor. How dare he compare a relative moderate like Putie with a far-left radical like Obama?

The No. 2 Republican in the House is comparing some of President Barack Obama's economic policies to those of Russia's prime minister and former president, Vladimir Putin.

The House Republican whip, Rep. Eric Cantor of Virginia, tells The Associated Press that Obama is micromanaging the auto industry to win points with Democratic allies and labor unions.

Cantor said Thursday that Obama's plans for the auto industry are, in his words, "almost like looking at Putin's communist Russia."

Cantor says the normal rights of secured creditors have been taken away and given to political cronies and the auto workers unions.

Expect a major meltdown by the left over Cantor's comments. They hate being compared with their Communist comrades.

'The American People See That This Agenda Is Way Far Out Of the Mainstream'

While that's indeed increasingly clear, predicting a takeover of Congress next year may be a bit ambitious, although I do see a backlash against Obama and the Democrats brewing. Know this much, however: The media will be more vicious than ever against the GOP heading into the 2010 midterms. It'll be uglier than ever.

These may be dark days for the Republican Party, but a top GOP congressional leader predicted today that Republicans would trounce Democrats in the 2010 midterm elections and could take back control of the House of Representatives.

"I really believe we've got a shot at taking back this House because you see what's gone on here with the unfettered ability of this administration and Nancy Pelosi to run this Congress," Rep. Eric Cantor, R-Va., the No. 2 Republican in the House, told ABC News in an exclusive interview. "The American people see that this agenda is way far out of the mainstream. They want a check and a balance on this power. And I think at the end of the day that's what rules come November 2010."

Democrats currently have a 257-178 majority, meaning Republicans would need a net gain of 40 seats win control of the House. That would be a historic landslide similar to the 54-seat gain in 1994 that gave Republicans control of the House.

Certainly not impossible and it seems to me there is more anger toward big government at this time than there was at a similar juncture in 1993. What Cantor and the Republicans need to do is keep the agenda focused on economic and tax issues and don't play the left/media social issue game.

Even on health care, an issue that has historically favored Democrats, Cantor predicts Republicans will have the advantage in next year's midterm elections. Democrats may have the votes now to push through their version of health care reform, but he says they will face a backlash with "lasting ramifications that will impact the ballot box in November 2010."

"They can jam it through," Cantor said of the Democratic health care plan, "but there will be a huge political cost for this kind of plan to pass in the House."

Cantor should also stress the fact an increasing number want this reckless stimulus spending curbed.

There was more than one whip at last night's Britney Spears concert in Washington DC.

GOP aides confirmed to the Huffington Post that House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-Va.) attended the pop concert at the Verizon Center, where Britney appeared on stage brandishing a leather lash.

One House GOP leadership aide said Cantor went at the request of a fundraiser. "If suffering through a Britney Spears concert will raise one more dime to help Republicans take back the House, then I'm glad Cantor's willing to do it."

A House Democratic aide shot back, "Looks like Eric Cantor's not that innocent."

Maybe I'm missing something, but is there a requirement that the House Minority Whip has to watch Obama read off his oversized TelePrompter?

This apparently is scandalous news among the Journolist set. Why, even the Washington Post feels obligated to report this earthshaking news.

Some of the retarded left equates this with Obama filling out his NCAA pool, though I guess only they can explain that.

Full disclosure: I once ran into Britney and her posse near the W Hotel in Manhattan one hot July night about six years ago. They asked me if I had any coke. I didn't. I suggested to them they shouldn't ask strangers on the street for drugs, scolded them and told them to run along. Five years of misery for Britney followed. Draw your own conclusions.

Queen Pelosi Has An Enemies List

Used to be having a documented enemies list was grounds for you to become Public Enemy No. 1. Heck, Richard Nixon has been out of office for nearly 35 years and dead for 15 and we still hear about his list of enemies.

Alas, it's perfectly fine if you're a Democrat to have an enemies list. Heck, you even get a glowing profile out of the deal. Although I have to say Rush Limbaugh is going to be disappointed he's not at the top, although we know he's Nos. 1 and 1a on Obama's list.

In fact, three of the top five are Democrats. So much for unity.

So who’s on Pelosi’s list now?

1. Rep. Heath Shuler (D-N.C.). No Democrat has done quite so much in so short a time to arouse Pelosi’s disdain as the failed-Redskins-quarterback-turned-ambitious-North-Carolina-congressman.

The conservative, anti-abortion Shuler would have made the list for voting against both bank bailout bills and the stimulus package, but the way he went about it didn’t help; Shuler told an audience back home that “House leadership and Senate leadership have really failed” on the $787 billion package.

The thing that riles Pelosi most, according to several House aides, is that she believes Shuler’s motives are as much political as they are ideological — and that he’s picking a fight with her to position himself for a run against Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.) next year.

Unless Shuler is planning a long House career, picking a fight with Pelosi may indeed have its advantages: His 2006 opponent, incumbent GOP Rep. Charles Taylor, scored points by portraying Shuler as a Pelosi acolyte.

“I don’t know if Shuler is talking without thinking or if he’s just making the calculation that distancing himself from Pelosi is never a bad thing to do,” said a senior House leadership aide.

2. Rush Limbaugh. He’s Pelosi’s sworn enemy — and she views him as beneath contempt and unworthy of her comment.

Asked about the right-wing talk-radio king the other day, Pelosi said: “I don’t speak to that. I’m the speaker of the House. I don’t get into the popular culture.”

3. Rep. Paul E. Kanjorski (D-Pa.). Pelosi and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee made an all-out effort to help the veteran Scranton congressman win a tight race against longtime nemesis Lou Barletta last fall.

So aides say the speaker was taken aback when the western Pennsylvania representative bucked leadership by voting “no” on the original version of the stimulus bill.

He voted for the conference report later, but hard feelings persist.

4. Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.). It’s no surprise that Pelosi isn’t crazy about the young, aggressive minority whip, who has marshaled an anti-Pelosi GOP insurgency in the House.

Pelosi has good personal relationship with House Minority Leader John A. Boehner (R-Ohio). But members of her leadership cadre are starting to really dislike Cantor, despite their public pose of studied indifference. Part of the reason: Cantor is employing many of the same techniques Pelosi used so successfully to torture former House Speaker Dennis Hastert when she was the Democratic whip in 2002 and 2003. [hey, I thought Democrats were opposed to torture?]

It remains to be seen if Cantor’s power-of-“no” philosophy will work — congressional approval ratings have actually spiked on the stimulus — but he’s gotten traction by nitpicking Pelosi’s proposals and magnifying the majority’s blunders.

5. Rep. Jim Cooper (D-Tenn.). The fiscally conservative gadfly would have topped the list had he not reversed his first stimulus “no” by voting in favor of the final package.

Even so, the most outspoken of the Blue Dog Democrats is still on thin ice with leadership, thanks to his comment that he “actually got some quiet encouragement from the Obama folks” for initially bucking Pelosi on the stimulus. That required a hasty Obama-Pelosi cleanup effort that resulted in a Cooper clarification — although he continues to express dissatisfaction with what he sees as Pelosi’s top-down leadership style.

Some of those Blue Dogs, Cooper and Shuler in particular, could possibly be good candidates to cross the aisle if the Republicans are able to close the gap in the House next year.

Read on. The rest of the list is all Democrats. Doesn't seem like there'll be many tears shed when this woman is dethroned.
