Woman Sues Police for Making Her Listen to Rush Limbaugh

You'll be shocked to discover she a big fan of Chris Matthews and Rachel Maddow. She should have used this opportunity to learn something.

A Texas woman is suing her local police department after she says she was arrested for no reason – and forced to listen to Rush Limbaugh.

In a lawsuit filed last week over the Oct. 4, 2010 incident, Bridgett Nickerson Boyd said her trouble began when she noticed her engine steaming and pulled over to the side of the highway, the Houston Chronicle reported. As she was pulling over, sheriff's deputy Mark Goad pulled behind her – and then arrested her for driving on the shoulder.

To make a bad day even worse, her heart began racing dangerously fast and she had to go to the hospital, according to the report. Goad followed her there – and then rearrested her once she was treated.

The final straw came when he then put her in the back of his car and cranked up the conservative talk show host – who was making "derogatory comments about black people" all the way to jail, Boyd charged.

Really? I suspect she can't cite any examples.

Says Limbaugh:

"This woman doesn't know how lucky she is. What a great opportunity she had, forced to listen. Derogatory comments about black people? We don't make derogatory comments about black people. We make derogatory comments about liberals," he said, chuckling. "According to her Facebook page, Bridgett Nickerson Boyd's favorite TV shows are Chris Matthews and Rachel Maddow. No surprise there. I don't know about Jerry Springer. He's not mentioned. Wouldn't doubt it, though."

Compounding the Misery For Democrats: Bob Turner is Friends With Rush

You just know this will eat them alive.

Rep.-elect Bob Turner has a colorful resume: as a television syndication executive, he helped advance the careers of talk show hosts Jerry Springer and Sally Jesse Raphael. Less known was the fact that he helped launch conservative talker Rush Limbaugh's television career, as well.

Limbaugh, who had kept uncharacteristically silent about the New York special election on his show until after the election, acknowledged his friendship with Turner on the show Wednesday - and his deep rooting interest in the race.

"It was Bob Turner who took the flier. And it was then that Roger Ailes and I teamed up and then partnered with Bob Turner," said Limbaugh. "I kept waiting for Democrat opposition research to discover this and start plastering it all over the place and I didn't see that."

The outside Democratic groups involved in the race, including the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, didn't mention the Turner-Limbaugh connection, in television ads or direct mail. A DCCC spokesman said there were more potent lines of attack to use against Turner, without going after Limbaugh.

But Limbaugh claims Democrats avoided invoking his connection to Turner because an outside Democratic group conducted polling, and found he was popular in the working-class, ethnic Queens and Brooklyn district.

"The Democrats did opposition research polling in the district and they found out to their shock that I'm very popular in this district. I have a very supportive audience in this district, which stunned them. It's Orthodox, it's Israel, blue-collar, it's made up of Democrats that are your father and grandfather's Democrats, not this current crop of leftist Marxist socialists or what have you," Limbaugh said. "So that's why they tried to tar Turner with Jerry Springer. But it wasn't gonna work no matter what they tried because this was about Obama."

Seemingly most of the desperate Democrat ads against Turner were calling his a "tea party extremist," and that obviously didn't help any. Oh well, back to the drawing board to think up more smears as we head into 2012.

Meanwhile, beaten and battered New York Democrats are pointing fingers every which direction. Here's a hint: Point them at Obama. He's why you lost the seat.

Heh: Obama Related to Bush, Palin and Limbaugh

Politics makes for strange bedfellows. And relatives.

President Barack Obama has family ties to none other than Sarah Palin, according to the genealogists at Ancestry.com, a discovery the family history site made when looking for connections between political foes.

And that's not all — Obama also is apparently related to conservative radio host and relentless critic Rush Limbaugh.

A genealogist at the Utah-based Ancestry.com, Anastasia Tyler, said Obama and Palin are 10th cousins through a common ancestor named John Smith, a pastor and early settler in 17th-century Massachusetts. Obama is related to Smith through his mother, as is Palin, Tyler said.

"Smith was against the persecution of the Quakers," Tyler said in an interview. "He was a very socially conscious man."

As for Limbaugh, he's also a 10th cousin of the president — one time removed — through a common ancestor named Richmond Terrell, who Tyler said was a large landowner in Virginia, also in the 17th century. "His history is a little more nebulous," Tyler said.

How do the genealogists come up with this stuff? Tyler said they start by picking the people they're interested in, then examine their family trees, going back further and further into history, looking for common surnames and locations.

In the recent project, genealogists looked at the trees of Obama, Palin, and Limbaugh but also a few others, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and Fox News pundits Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity. They didn't find anything much with the latter three.

But former President George W. Bush? He's related to both Obama and Palin, the site found. Obama and Bush are 11th cousins through common ancestor Samuel Hinckley, and Bush and Palin are 10th cousins one time removed, also through Hinckley — who, and stay with us now, was John Smith's father-in-law.

White House spokesthing Robert Gibbs immediately denounced Obama and demanded he distance himself from his relatives.

Poll: Americans Love Fox, Have No Idea Who These Losers on MSNBC Are

I think MSNBC's ratings might actually get a bump today as people tune in to see if any of their low-rated liberal hacks lose it on the air. When they realize nobody know who they are while at the same time admire Bill O'Reilly and Glenn Beck then you know heads are going to explode.

More people are getting their news about the upcoming election from cable television than any other source, and from Fox News more than any other cable channel, according to a POLITICO/George Washington University Battleground Poll released Monday.

The poll found that 81 percent of those polled get their news about the midterm elections from cable channels, like Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, or their websites, compared with 71 percent from national network news channels, such as ABC, NBC or CBS, and their websites.

Among cable news channels, Fox was the clear winner, with 42 percent of respondents saying it is their main source, compared with 30 percent who cited CNN and 12 percent who rely on MSNBC.

Fox’s opinionated personalities were also rated as having the greatest positive impact on the political debate in the country. Bill O’Reilly was rated as having, by far, the greatest positive impact, with 49 percent of respondents rating him positively, and 32 percent negatively.

Glenn Beck was the second most-positively rated personality, with 38 percent of respondents saying he had a positive impact, and 32 percent saying he had a negative impact.

Radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh was the third-most-positively ranked, with 36 percent saying he has a positive impact on the discourse, but his negatives far outweighed his positives, with 52 percent saying he has a negative impact.

“To some extent, Limbaugh has become almost a caricature in a way, so I don’t know how much influence he has beyond entertainment value,” Arteron said. “Whereas, in some way, the other people on Fox are seen as more legitimate news operations.”

MSNBC’s personalities were largely ranked as unknown by respondents: 70 percent said they had never heard of Ed Schultz, 55 percent said they had never heard of Rachel Maddow and 42 percent said they had never heard of Keith Olbermann.

Bill Clinton and John Kerry would call those people ignorant and uninformed.

'Limbaugh Can Play With Himself'

See what happens when "Republican leader" Rush Limbaugh reaches out to Barack Obama? The man who supposedly wants to unite America has his flunkies rebuff Limbaugh in crude fashion.

So much for bringing us all together.

When President Obama was asked if he would play a round of golf with his talk-radio nemesis Rush Limbaugh, the response, relayed by a top Democrat, was: "Limbaugh can play with himself."

This is according to Zev Chafets in his new book, "Rush Limbaugh: An Army of One," due May 25 from Sentinel.

The caustic comeback is another example of the verbal venom between the White House and the conservative radio star. In an interview with CBS News last month, Obama called the views spelled out by Limbaugh and Fox News Channel's Glenn Beck "troublesome."

Chafets reports he encouraged Limbaugh to reach out to the president just after last July's "Beer Summit" that Obama hosted between Professor Henry Louis Gates and Sgt. Joseph Crowley, the Cambridge cop who arrested Gates after he locked himself out of his own home.

"You guys are both golfers," Chafets told Limbaugh. "Would you play a round with the president and show the country that there are no hard feelings?"

"He's the president of the United States," Limbaugh told Chafets. "If any president asked me to meet him, or play golf with him, I'd do it. But I promise you that will never happen. His base on the left would have a s--t-fit."

Pandering to the kook left is far more important to Obama than in dealing with the most popular radio host on the planet. Heck, the stooges at Media Matters would soil their diapers and heads would explode at MSNBC.

Besides, Rush would probably kick his ass up and down the golf course. You ever notice for all of Obama's golfing we never hear what he shot?

Chafets writes that he reached out to Obama adviser David Axelrod, "whom I know slightly," but Axelrod didn't return calls. Then Chafets spoke to "a very senior Democratic activist with whom I'm friendly" who said he would convey the message.

A day or two later the adviser responded, "Limbaugh can play with himself." Chafets wouldn't name the aide or say whether the quote was directly from Obama.

Heh: Tool Who Accused Limbaugh of Sedition for Using the Word "Regime" Also Fond of the Word ... Regime

Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. We noted this chump last night in the Joe Klein item.

Well, well, well, look who also likes to used the dreaded R-word.

Time's Joe Klein got some attention over the weekend when he said, on "The Chris Matthews Show," that statements from Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin are "right up close to being seditious." What received less attention was the statement immediately following Klein's, from New York magazine's John Heilemann, author of the best-seller Game Change. "Joe's right, and I'll name another person," Heilemann said. "You know, name Rush Limbaugh, you know, who uses this phrase constantly, talks about the Obama administration as a 'regime.' That phrase, which has connotations of tyranny."

Heilemann's accusation echoed one that Chris Matthews himself made on MSNBC's "Hardball" April 2, when he denounced Limbaugh's use of the word 'regime.' "I've never seen language like this in the American press," Matthews said. "We know that word, 'regime.' It was used by George Bush, 'regime change.' You go to war with regimes. Regimes are tyrannies. They're juntas. They're military coups. The use of the word 'regime' in American political parlance is unacceptable, and someone should tell [Limbaugh] to stop using it." A quick search of the Nexis database revealed more than 6,500 uses of the word "regime" to refer to the Bush administration since January 20, 2001, in the New York Times, Washington Post, MSNBC, and, yes, by Chris Matthews himself.

So now John Heilemann has spoken up. Which leads to an obvious question. Has Heilemann himself ever used that word, with its "connotations of tyranny"?

A search of the Nexis database shows four recent examples of Heilemann using "regime" to refer not to tyrannies but to American domestic politics. He even used the phrase "Obama regime." For the record:

In the January 19, 2009 issue of New York, Heilemann wrote that Barack Obama had no particular expertise in economics, "So it's ironic, to say the least, that the first defining moment of the Obama regime happens to revolve around matters macroeconomic -- dealing not just with a nasty and potentially prolonged downturn, but with a wrenching, epochal crisis of capitalism on a global scale."

In the January 5, 2009 issue of New York, Heilemann wrote of "the power troika of Bob Gates, Jim Jones, and Hillary Clinton, each of whom plausibly could have filled the very same jobs in a John McCain regime."

In the December 1, 2008 issue of New York, Heilemann wrote that all administrations experience internal conflict over foreign-policy issues, "And Obama's regime -- with Joe Biden in the building and Robert Gates likely to remain atop the Pentagon -- will be no exception."

In the November 17, 2008 issue of New York, Heilemann wrote that Obama's choice of veterans of previous administrations satisfied some supporters, "But for other Obamaphiles, it fuels the anxiety that the regimes of the new boss and the old boss will end up resembling one another all too much."

There was an eyebrow-raising exchange Tuesday between radio host Rush Limbaugh and a caller in which Limbaugh makes a racist comment about Gov. Paterson.

And what is the alleged racist comment? She "conveniently" has a transcription of a conversation betwen Limbaugh and a caller.

CALLER: Yeah. Hey, listen. Interesting sidebar to that Eric Massa mess for Democrats. You know, our besieged governor, David Paterson, will be charged with naming a replacement for Massa. And I'm wondering if there's any chance, do you think that Paterson...

RUSH LIMBAUGH: Wait a minute.

CALLER: ...will exact some revenge on Obama, Emanuel, Cuomo, the whole Democratic gulag, by appointing a Republican or, at the very least, a DINO - a Democrat in name only?

LIMBAUGH: Are you sure that Paterson appoints or is there a special election?

CALLER: I am reasonably sure that Paterson will be appointing the replacement, assuming that he, you know, doesn't resign in the next 60 or 90 days.

LIMBAUGH: Let's assume you're right. So, David Paterson will become the massa...

CALLER: Yes.

LIMBAUGH: ...who gets to appoint whoever gets to take Massa's place. So, for the first time in his life, Paterson's gonna be a massa. Interesting, interesting.

Seems like a pretty innocuous take on the name Massa. Now lets see if you can spot the similarities between her "reporting" and this item from the tools at Media Matters.

Slow News Day: Comment Limbaugh Has Been Making for 20 Years Now Big News

You would think the, excuse the phrase, f--king retards at Media Matters would know this. They hang on Rush Limbaugh's every word, and usualy twist most of them. But this comment he made to Gretchen Carlson today dates back at least 20 years. But since the f--king retards at the New York Daily News regurgitate everything the little fascist pukes churn out, it's somehow news.

After a career spent battling the feminist movement, Rush Limbaugh took to the air today declaring, "I love the women’s movement — especially when walking behind it."

The conservative firebrand appearing on "Fox and Friends," defended his participation as a judge in last week's Miss America pageant.

"So for those who were critics of you in judging this pageant, and saying that you haven’t been a supporter of women in the past?" host Gretchen Carlson, the winner of 1989's Miss America pageant, asked.

"Oh, I’m a huge supporter of women. What I’m not a supporter of is liberalism. Feminism is what I oppose, and feminism has led women astray. I love women. I don’t know where all this got started," Limbaugh replied.

"I love the women’s movement — especially when walking behind it. This idea that I don’t like women is absurd. This is Miss America. And if there’s a Mr. America out there, it’s me."

Ever since the black Miss Virginia won the pageant there's been a virtual media blackout. Media Matters and their stooges were so desperate to make Limbaugh look bad they were left speechless with the results. And they make no mention he had the winner on his program yesterday. If he was the racist, sexit bigot they they portray him as, why would she have appeared on his program?

To take this comment he used today, one he's been uttering for decades, shows George Soros isn't getting much in return from his twits at Media Matters.

Influential conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh said on Friday doctors had found nothing wrong with him after he was hospitalized this week in Hawaii with sharp chest pains.

Limbaugh, 58, underwent an angiogram, or an imaging of the arteries and heart, to determine what caused the pain "like I have never experienced before," he said.

"They found absolutely nothing wrong. It was a blessing. No arterial disease, no coronary disease whatsoever," Limbaugh told reporters at Honolulu's Queen's Medical Center, where he was rushed on Wednesday from a nearby resort.

It was unclear when Limbaugh would return to his top-rated radio show, with 20 million listeners weekly. But he did use the news conference to take a jab at Democrats and their top policy priority -- healthcare reform that aims to give coverage to 47 million uninsured Americans and lower costs.

"Based on what happened to me here, I don't think there is one thing wrong with the American healthcare system. It is working just fine," he said.

Oh My: Rush Limbaugh Hospitalized in Serious Condition

This sure sounds like a heart attack.

Conservative radio talk host Rush Limbaugh was rushed to a Honolulu hospital on Wednesday afternoon with chest pains, sources told KITV.

Paramedics responded to the call at 2:41 p.m. at the Kahala Hotel and Resort.

Limbaugh suffered from chest pains, sources said. Paramedics treated him and took him to Queen's Medical Center in serious condition.

He was seen golfing at Waialae Country Club earlier this week. The country club is next to the Kahala Hotel and Resort.

The radio show host had been in the islands during the holidays.

Kooky Krugman: Big GOP Wins in 2010 Will Hurt the Party

I don't speak moonbat so maybe someone can help decipher this lunatic screed for me. Deranged NY Times hack Paul Krugman today bemoans the fact conservatives are rising up and influencing the GOP. Naturally, he goes on whining about the evil influence of Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck, a lazy man's rehash of White House talking points that can be found pretty much anywhere in the kook-left blogosphere. If I didn't know better I'd think I was reading the incoherent ramblings of a washed-up jazz musician suffering from creationist derangement syndrome. Whatever the case, Krugman comes to the conclusion that if the GOP makes strides in the 2010 midterms it'll turn out badly for them.

Seriously.

In fact, the party of Limbaugh and Beck could well make major gains in the midterm elections. The Obama administration’s job-creation efforts have fallen short, so that unemployment is likely to stay disastrously high through next year and beyond. The banker-friendly bailout of Wall Street has angered voters, and might even let Republicans claim the mantle of economic populism. Conservatives may not have better ideas, but voters might support them out of sheer frustration.

And if Tea Party Republicans do win big next year, what has already happened in California could happen at the national level. In California, the G.O.P. has essentially shrunk down to a rump party with no interest in actually governing — but that rump remains big enough to prevent anyone else from dealing with the state’s fiscal crisis. If this happens to America as a whole, as it all too easily could, the country could become effectively ungovernable in the midst of an ongoing economic disaster.

The point is that the takeover of the Republican Party by the irrational right is no laughing matter. Something unprecedented is happening here — and it’s very bad for America.

Krugman conveniently forgets which party now controls the entire government that is overseeing--as he puts it--disastrously high unemployment. But any counter to that by the irrational right will only hurt the GOP, the ones trying to do something about it. Seems Krugman would rather have the disaster continue than cede any power to the bogeymen (and women) on the right he so fears. Seems he'd be comfortable becoming a banana republic just as long as Rush Limbaugh can't celebrate a victory on the air.

Krugman isn't the only one parroting this nonsense. It was the popular talking point on the Sunday babblehead shows.
