While I'm leery of Brian Morganstern revealing his identity and pray for his safety, it nonetheless is his call to make. With that, here's my public gratitude to the young man who tipped the FBI to the plot involving the New Jersey jihadists and their plot to attack U.S. soldiers at Fort Dix.

CAIR Alleges Harassment in New Jersey

I just can't help but be suspicious that this report may be dubious. It's not as if CAIR hasn't filed bogus reports before.

Where's the Backlash?

Oh, that's right. It never happened.

In fact, it rarely ever does. Yet the slavishly lapdog media jumps high when their masters at CAIR issue press releases.

Iowa Muslims Fear Fort Dix Backlash

It's all getting so silly.

Iowa Muslims are bracing themselves, fearful that allegations of a plot by six Muslim men to attack Fort Dix, N.J., will spawn new incidents of anti-Islamic harassment and bias.

"Everybody was talking about" the FBI arrests of the men, said Ibrahim Dremali, imam of the Des Moines Islamic Center. "Some are afraid backlash may be coming. People are becoming cautious again. I've told them they have to be careful."

Hero Clerk May Need Immunity

It's really a pathetic situation when someone who gives a tip to police may need immunity because some lowlife scum like the terrorist-lovers from CAIR may sue them.

The New Jersey store clerk whose tip led to the arrest of six terror suspects needs legislative protection from being sued as a "John Doe" or whistleblower, lawmakers said yesterday.

"The events in Fort Dix are just another reminder of the need for this legislation," said Rep. Steve Pearce, New Mexico Republican and author of legislation to protect "John Doe" passengers being sued by a group of Muslim imams for reporting their suspicious behavior

"We owe a debt of gratitude to this individual for alerting authorities to this potential terrorist attack and thwarting what could have been a terrible disaster. I can only imagine how grateful the men and women at Fort Dix and their families are for the courage of this person to take action when he saw something suspicious," Mr. Pearce said.

U.S. authorities arrested six foreign-born Muslims suspected of plotting to attack the New Jersey fort and kill "as many American soldiers as possible ... in the name of Allah." The FBI was alerted to the group by a clerk at the Circuit City store who had been asked to copy to DVD a video of the men test-firing weapons in the mountains and calling for jihad.

"If we didn't get that tip," said U.S. Attorney Christopher Christie in New Jersey, "I couldn't be sure what would happen."

M. Zuhdi Jasser, director of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy, agrees that the FBI's arrests show the need to protect the principle of "see something, say something."
"What if this 'John Doe' had contrarily chosen to be silent due to a fear of litigation?" Dr. Jasser said.

Republican Minority Leader John Boehner of Ohio and Homeland Security Committee Ranking Member Rep. Peter King of New York used a procedural tactic to add the Pearce language to a rail and transportation security bill in March. The amendment passed unanimously by Republicans and had bipartisan support from 105 Democrats.

Don't forget to note well over 100 Democrats opposed the legislation.

AP Suggests Entrapment in Fort Dix Case

Here we go.

CHERRY HILL, N.J. (AP) - He railed against the United States, helped scout out military installations for attack, offered to introduce his comrades to an arms dealer, and gave them a list of weapons he could procure, including machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades.

These were not the actions of a terrorist, but of a paid FBI informant who helped bring down an alleged plot by six Muslim men to massacre U.S. soldiers at New Jersey's Fort Dix.

And those actions have raised questions of whether the government crossed the line and pushed the six men down a path they would not have otherwise followed.

It is an argument—entrapment—that has been made in other terrorism cases, and one that has failed miserably in this post-Sept. 11 era.

Then why bring it up?

Read the rest. The media wants to believe it's entrapment, and abetted by the usual Muslim groups whining about a backlash that never comes, will do anything to submarine this case.

Evil in Our Midst

Persuing some of the leftwing sites today, it appears they'd rather discuss anything but the Fort Dix terror plot. They just can't handle the fact we have evil in our midst and are desperately trying to avoid the uneasy truth that we ar at war both in the Mideast and on our own soil. They'd rather have a tantrum over the bogus story about supposed lack of equipment in Kansas.

They can also smugly note that if it weren't for the clerk at a Kinko's dropping the dime on the supects, that perhaps we would not have caught this bunch. True. But as was noted to all Americans after 9/11, we all must be diligent and keep our eyes and ears open and report suspicious activities.

Naturally, friends, relatives and neighbors, according to the Star-Ledger, say they were just ordinary guys.

Philly.com has many stories, while noting the Muslims fear a backlash which never quite seems to materialize. Perhaps they have more to fear from the monsters in their own community.

"People who harbor the intentions of hurting other people should be condemned by Islam, at least in our view," Quresh Dahodwala, an official of the Dawoodi Bohra community, said yesterday. "Islam does not support such barbaric acts."

Oh, really?

They're All Muslims, But...

Now that much more is known about the six Muslims arrested in New Jersey, the spin from Muslims begins.

The description of the suspects as "Islamic militants" caused renewed worry among New Jersey's Muslim community. Hundreds of Muslim men from New Jersey were rounded up and detained in the months after the Sept. 11 attacks, but none were connected to that plot.

"If these people did something, then they deserve to be punished to the fullest extent of the law," said Sohail Mohammed, a lawyer who represented scores of detainees after the 2001 attacks. "But when the government says `Islamic militants,' it sends a message to the public that Islam and militancy are synonymous."

Where would anyone get that idea?

Jihadis in Jersey

This story is just breaking early this morning. Hopefully more details to follow.

Six nationals of the former Yugoslavia were arrested early Tuesday on charges they plotted to attack the Fort Dix Army base and "kill as many soldiers as possible," federal authorities said.

The six were scheduled to appear in U.S. District Court in Camden later Tuesday to face charges of conspiracy to kill U.S. servicemen, said Michael Drewniak, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office in New Jersey. Five of them lived in Cherry Hill, he said.

A law enforcement official, speaking on condition of anonymity because documents in the case remain sealed, said the men were arrested as part of a joint federal and local investigation.

An ABC radio news report I heard earlier stated the suspects were Bosnians.

I wonder if they're any relation to Sulejman the Mysterious?

The would-be attackers, ethnic Albanians who had been under surveillance by the FBI for months, practiced by shooting paintball guns and real weapons in a rural area of the Poconos, one source said. They also allegedly watched jihadist videos in which Osama bin Laden urged them toward martyrdom.

"They were prepared to die," said the law enforcement source. "We became increasingly convinced this was for real and these guys were ready to roll."

The FBI had the group under surveillance for more than a year, the source said. The men had scouted out Dover Air Force Base and Fort Monmouth before settling on Fort Dix, a base that is used to mobilize troops to Iraq, said the source.

The men - several of whom were in the same family - had videotaped their practice sessions in the Poconos, the source said. That videotape, in which they railed against America, led to their arrests.
