I tell you what, John Conyers, the wackadoodle Democrat representative from Michigan, sure is doing his best to make politicians in Chicago look like pikers. His wife is already serving a prison sentence for her malfeasance and now some very interesting questions are being asked about his son, government tagged vehicle and the theft of $27,000 worth of concert tickets.

The son of Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., says items were stolen out of the government vehicle he was driving last Wednesday in downtown Detroit, FOX 2's Simon Shaykhet reports.

John Conyers III, 20, told police two Apple MacBooks, valued at $1,100 apiece, and more than $27,000 worth of concert tickets to the Fillmore were stolen out of a burgundy 2010 Cadillac Escalade registered to the 14th Congressional District.

Questions like what was this son doing driving a vehicle with government tags on it? Who the hell has $27,000 worth of concert tickets in their possession and they don't work for Ticketmaster? Who paid for the 2010 Cadillac? Taxpayers want to know, provided anybody in his district still has a job and, you know, actually pays taxes.

Now we know how to get John Conyers to actually read a bill before he rubber stamps it.

Two words: Naked women.

While November’s election brought a tsunami of change to Michigan policies, some incumbents are untouchable. So untouchable, apparently, that they openly read girlie magazines on their trips to and from Washington. Detroit Congressman John Conyers was caught on camera in a late July flight to DC this summer ogling a Playboy magazine.

The video and pictures – first posted by ex-Detroit News reporter and New York Times Pulitzer Prize winner Charlie LeDuff on his Facebook page – were taken by an anonymous passenger seated in the same row as the 81-year old congressman. Conyers – in his aisle seat – is shown flipping though pages showing two nude gal pals in the August issue of Playboy. And he also apparently reads Hefner’s product for the articles! He appears to linger on an article titled “La Chatte” by Maureen Gibbon.

Deadbeat Democrat: Conyers Writing Bad Checks

He and his party have been spending our money like drunken frat boys the past couple of years, so really, is it surprising to find out a high-ranking Democrat is writing his own bad personal checks

Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.) lost his driver’s license temporarily this summer because he bounced the check used to pay the renewal fee, according to an Associated Press report.

Conyers, who chairs the Judiciary Committee, attempted to renew the license Feb. 2 but months later was informed that he wrote a check for the renewal on an account with insufficient funds. The license was suspended June 30 until July 26 when Conyers paid the fee.

Conyers’s office issued a written response after the AP asked for an explanation.

“…A check was inadvertently written to renew the chairman’s driver’s license from an account that had been recently closed,” the office wrote. “As a result his driver’s license was suspended. Immediately upon learning of this, a replacement cashier’s check was provided, and his driver’s license was immediately reinstated.”

The Associated Press discovered the lapse after inquiring about the driving histories of all major-part candidates in Michigan. The secretary of state’s office produced records dating back to 2003.

In addition to Conyers, 11 out of 30 candidates for Congress had marks on their driving record that included 19 speeding tickets, four citations and three suspensions.

Monica Conyers was unavailable for comment.

Dems Pushing Constitutional Amendment To Overturn The First Amendment

The progressives in the congress are in high dander over the recent Supreme Court ruling that struck down portions of the McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Law. It really was a matter of free speech and not corporate financing like the progressives are trying to paint it. I knew when I saw the extension on the web address, i.e., the dot org rather then the traditional dot com, that this was a far left liberal site. That is one of the surest signs of a liberal site, just like the media not mentioning a party affiliation in the reporting of a scandal automatically triggers a intuitive guess that it involves a Democrat.

Well they have taken the next illogical step, mainly proposing a constitutional amendment to repeal the First Amendment. The amendment is being cosponsored by Donna Edwards (D-MD) and John Conyers (D-MI) among others.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

John Kerry, fearing for his Senate seat maybe, and making an appeal to the far left in his party went even a little further.

I think we need a constitutional amendment to make it clear once and for all that corporations do not have the same free speech rights as individuals.

So who is it that contributes to Ms Edwards Campaign? The usual suspects, unions and SEIU in particular.



As for John Conyers, well he doesn't seem to have a problem taking campaign donations from some of those evil corporations. Among the list of contributors to his campaign are Microsoft and Comcast.

Corrupt Democrat Alert: Monica Conyers Pleads Guilty

You have to figure they've really got the goods on her if she's not even going to trial.

Detroit City Council President Pro Tem Monica Conyers is pleading guilty this morning to conspiring to commit bribery.

Conyers, the wife of powerful Democratic congressman U.S. Rep. John Conyers, is due to appear before U.S. District Court Judge Avern Cohn at 10 a.m. to answer charges in connection with the wide-ranging probe of wrongdoing at Detroit city hall.

The charge reads: Monica Ann Conyers beginning on a date unknown and continuing until or about December 2007, did knowingly and voluntarily conspire and agree with an aide and others to corruptly solicit and demand for the benefit of herself and others and to accept and agree to accept things of value from persons while an agent of the City of Detroit, an entity that received more than $10,000 in federal funding during the calendar year of 2007, with intent that Conyers would be influenced and rewarded in connection with any business transaction or series of transactions of a value of $5,000 or more with the City of Detroit.

Overt acts: On Nov. 20, 2007, at approximately 3:15 p.m., Conyers met with an individual sent by Rayford Jackson in the parking lot at Butzel Family Center and received an envelope containing cash. On Dec. 4, 2007, at approximately 2:30 p.m., an individual sent by Rayford Jackson met Conyers and her aide in a McDonald's parking lot in Detroit at which time the individual delivered an envelope containing cash.

She has been at the center of FBI questioning for months about the city’s sludge disposal contract with Synagro Technologies and her activities as a member of the city pension board.

I wonder if she put that cash in the freezer? And what did her husband know and when did he know it?

Pelosi Just Can't Let Loose Her BDS

BDS is a term coined by columnist Charles Krauthammer and stands for Bush Derangement Syndrome. It is the irrational hatred of anything associated with President Bush.

Today on Fox News Sunday she once again hinted that congress may still look into prosecution of some in the Bush administration, at the urging of our favorite personal injury lawyer from Michigan John Conyers.

John Conyers has along history of holding hearings in his role as head of the House Judiciary Committee including the infamous Winter Soldiers II hearings. The only reason Conyers isn't in a state hospital for the mentally insane is because he is an elected official in Washington.

Rep. John Conyers, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, announced Friday he wants to set up a commission to look into whether the Bush administration broke the law by taking the nation to war against Iraq and instituting aggressive anti-terror initiatives. The Michigan Democrat called for an "independent criminal probe into whether any laws were broken in connection with these activities."

Conyers has been an anti-Iraq war advocate since he first got the memo that he had voted to allow it.

Pelosi of course is handling the pandering to the far left wing nut jobs that comprise the majority of the Democrats so that Barry O doesn't have to get his hands dirty.

"I think you look at each item and see what is a violation of the law and do we even have a right to ignore it," the California Democrat said. "And other things that are maybe time that is spent better looking to the future rather than to the past."

Really Nancy? Then why is it all this week we have been deluged with images of past presidents like Lincoln, Kennedy, Roosevelt. For a party that preaches a lot about looking forward they sure do spend a lot time looking backwards and trying to recapture some self imagined glory.

Racist Reverend Squeals, Runs For Cover

Looks like the IRS probe into the shakedown practices of the odious Al Sharpton are hitting close to home. If this was all much ado about nothing, why would the rotund racist be making his case to John Conyers with a laughable plea to investigate the investigators?

It's the investigators that need investigating, a defiant Rev. Al Sharpton said yesterday in the face of the widening federal probe into his finances.

With the IRS and the US Attorney's Office breathing down his neck, Sharpton's civil-rights organization is appealing to Congress to launch its own investigation into the federal authorities.

"This is harassment and manipulation," Sharpton told The Post in response to news that some of his most generous corporate donors, including beer giant Anheuser-Busch, were slapped with subpoenas concerning their gifts to the National Action Network.

Sharpton reached out to Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.), the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, who has already subpoenaed former top Bush adviser Karl Rove over possible politicization of the Justice Department.

"We are mindful of the clear political motivation of the Justice Department and IRS under the present administration," Sharpton said in a statement. "In fact, nine United States attorneys have had to resign under the question of whether they were targeting people for political reasons."

He stops just short of blaming Karl Rove.

"We will never be silenced or intimidated by political zealots in law enforcement or journalism who clearly operate on agendas rather than facts, and we welcome the IRS, New York Post, or any other entity to look into our relationships with corporations," he said.

The projection meter just exploded.

Sounds like he's really feeling the heat. Well past time.

Circus Time: Desperate Democrats To Have New Boytoy McClellan Testify

Talk about being unable to let go. Despite everyone on the planet knowing it was Richard Armitage who "leaked" the name of non-covert CIA employee Valerie Plame, the idiots in Congress plan to have the hapless Scott McClellan up to Congress to testify next week.

Expect gave-to-gavel coverage of this charade on PMSNBC and CNN.

President Bush's former spokesman, Scott McClellan, will testify before a House committee next week about whether Vice President Dick Cheney ordered him to make misleading public statements about the leaking of CIA agent Valerie Plame's identity.

McClellan will testify publicly and under oath before the House Judiciary Committee on June 20 about the White House's role in the leak and its response, his attorneys, Michael and Jane Tigar, said on Monday.

In his new book, "What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington's Culture of Deception," McClellan said he was misled by others, possibly including Cheney, about the role of I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby in the leak. McClellan has said publicly that Bush and Cheney "directed me to go out there and exonerate Scooter Libby."

The statements prompted House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers, D-Mich., to invite McClellan to the hearing "concerning reported attempts to cover up the involvement of White House officials in the leak of" Plame's identity.

Plame's CIA identity was leaked to the news media by several top Bush administration officials in 2003, including Libby and former top White House political adviser Karl Rove. Last July, Bush commuted Libby's 2 1/2-year sentence, sparing him from serving any prison time after being convicted of perjury, obstructing justice and lying to the FBI.

Meanwhile, the certifiably insane Dennis Kucinich is still pushing impeachment. The tin-foil is wrapped a wee bit too tight on his skull.

How Do You Get the Media Interested in the Tony Rezko Trial? Mention Karl Rove

This is like that dog who keeps chasing his tail. He gets bored at the fruitlessness of it all after awhile and goes back to sleep. Of course he always wakes up having forgotten how silly he looked and proceeds to resume the pointless activity.

Today's installment of Rove Derangement Syndrome comes courtesy of Newsweek's Michael Isikoff. This should make for interesting conversation at Newsweek since Karl Rove is on the payroll over there. Maybe Isikoff is annoyed about that. Who knows, but this seems incredibily flimsy to run with.

The trial of Chicago developer and political fixer Antoin "Tony" Rezko has been closely watched for any mention of the defendant's onetime friend, Barack Obama. But last week, prosecutors threw a curveball, telling the judge that one of their witnesses is prepared to raise the name of another prominent Washington hand: Karl Rove. Former Illinois state official Ali Ata is expected to testify about a conversation he had with Rezko in which the developer alleged Rove was "working with" a top Illinois Republican to remove the Chicago U.S. attorney, Patrick Fitzgerald.

The allegation, which Rove denies, quickly reverberated in Washington. Democrats in Congress now want to question Ata. They believe he can help buttress their theory that Rove played a key role in discussions that led to the firings of U.S. attorneys at the Justice Department in 2006. The House Judiciary Committee "intends to investigate the facts and circumstances alleged in this testimony," panel chairman Rep. John Conyers of Michigan said in a statement to NEWSWEEK.

Not a shred of evidence to back up the claim, but let's throw it out there and see what sticks.

Investigators are intrigued by the timing of the alleged conversation about Fitzgerald. According to the Rezko prosecutors, it took place in November 2004—weeks after Fitzgerald had subpoenaed Rove to testify for the third time in another matter he was aggressively investigating, the Valerie Plame CIA leak case. A source familiar with Ata's testimony (who asked not to be identified talking about sensitive matters) said that Ata was meeting regularly with Rezko that fall. The two men shared a concern about Fitzgerald's ongoing probe of Illinois public officials. In one of those conversations, the developer allegedly told Ata that Bob Kjellander, a prominent GOP state lobbyist, was talking to Rove about getting rid of Fitzgerald. The reason: to "get a new U.S. attorney" who would not pursue the Illinois corruption probe, the source said. Ata, who has pleaded guilty to corruption-related charges and is now cooperating with the Feds, has no evidence that the conversation took place other than what Rezko allegedly told him, the source says.

No evidence, just allegations.

But that's all you need for Michael Isikoff.

Kjellander denies that he told Rezko anything of the kind. "I never had a discussion with Karl Rove or any other person on the White House staff" about firing Fitzgerald, said Kjellander, now a top GOP official in charge of this summer's convention. Rove's lawyer, Bob Luskin, told NEWSWEEK that Rove "does not recall" a conversation with Kjellander about Fitzgerald. He added that Rove "never talked to anybody in the White House about removing Fitzgerald."

The dog has awoken and is ready to chase his tail again.

Terror Co-Conspirators at CAIR Try Sneaky End Run

The unindicted terror co-conspirators at CAIR know they have a sympathetic voice in loathsome Michigan Democrat John Conyers, whose proving to be quite the useful idiot.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations is seeking help from House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers Jr. to pressure the Justice Department to change the group's status as a co-conspirator in a terrorism case.

CAIR officials recently met with Mr. Conyers, Michigan Democrat, and then wrote a letter asking him to lobby the new attorney general on behalf of the group, and to hold hearings.

CAIR is among several hundred Muslim groups listed as unindicted co-conspirators in a recent federal terrorism trial in Dallas into activities by the Holy Land Foundation Inc., a group linked to funding the Palestinian Hamas terrorist group. The trial recently ended in a mistrial and prosecutors have said they plan to re-try the case.

Despite its uncertain outcome, the trial has produced a large amount of information and evidence identifying U.S. and foreign groups sympathetic to or direct supporters of international Islamist terrorists.

A 1991 internal memorandum from the radical Muslim Brotherhood identified 29 front groups, including the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), that are part of a covert program by the Brotherhood in the United States to subvert American society.

CAIR officials have requested that Mr. Conyers ask the Justice Department to explain why it publicly identified the 306 co-conspirators in the Holy Land Foundation trial.

"Those on the list suffer negatively as a result of the label 'unindicted co-conspirator' as it impresses upon the typical member of the American public that those listed are involved in criminal activity," the group said in a letter to Mr. Conyers. "In reality, those so named have neither been charged with a crime nor offered any recourse for challenging the allegation."

Yes, your activities have made the distinct impression you are terrorist sympathizers, and no amount of seething and whining is ever going to change that impression.

The Justice Department needs to dismiss this forthwith.

Of course, if, God help us, a Democrat is elected in 2008, look for CAIR to have this purged forthwith.

The Democrats know who the boss is.
