The End of Hopenchange: 'We All Fell in Love With Him During the Campaign. He's Not the Same Man Today'

I guess by "we" he means everyone but Obama's most ardent disciples. But let's face it, the media's a lost cause. As to the rest of the planet, the fact he's a miserable failure is a given. Heck, he's even lost Calypso Louie now. Of course it's obvious why the sinister minister is bashing Obama now. Moammar Khadafy has been his chief benefactor all these years and he sees the money pipeline drying up.

Yet it's all too amusing.

Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan continued Thursday in his role as Moammar Gadhafi's only outspoken friend in the United States.

Even Gadhafi's own ambassador to the United Nations has denounced him, comparing the Libyan leader to former Cambodian strongman Pol Pot. But Farrakhan told a packed house at his Chicago headquarters that he considered Gadhafi a brother, and that if there was any "gangster" on the world stage, it was the United States.

"I don’t care what Gadhafi has done wrong. He's not the mad dog of the Middle East," Farrakhan thundered. "The mad dogs are growling and biting in Washington, D.C."

These mad dogs, we presume, include Obama. But you never know. Before long it could all be John Boehner's fault or something.

Indeed, the very building in which Farrakhan spoke, the gold encrusted "Mosque Maryam" on south Stony Island, was acquired with Gadhafi's help. He provided the Nation of Islam with a $3 million loan, which they used to acquire the facility, a former Greek Orthodox Church.

Later, Gadhafi provided Farrakhan with another $5 million loan, which Farrakhan has previously said was forgiven in full.

"It’s a terrible thing for me to hear my brother called all of these ugly and filthy names," said Farrakhan. And he warned the United States that their continued adventures in Africa were about to bring on the violent wrath of an angry God.

"Death and destruction is on the way to all of us, and we are worse prepared than the Japanese," he said.

The Nation of Islam leader bashed President Barack Obama, who he suggested was being duped by white advisors.

"We all fell in love with him during the campaign. He's not the same man today," said Farrakhan.

Farrakhan: Obama 'the First Jewish President'

Well, I guess this means Bill Clinton remains the one and only black President.

Farrakhan criticized President Barack Obama for joining up with the “old colonial masters” of the Western-led forces and expressed skepticism about European countries espousing humanitarian concerns, saying they “give noble motives to their wickedness.”

“Do you think they had humanitarian concerns when the British mowed down the Indians in India who were peacefully protesting?” he said. “Where in the hell is humanitarian values in America when you’ve got over 50 million Americans living in poverty, sick and diseased, with no healthcare?”

He also alleged that Obama had backed down from pushing a Palestinian-Israeli peace accord and banning settlement-building in the West Bank, calling him “the first Jewish president.” Obama is a Christian.

“He was selected before he was elected,” Farrakhan said. “And the people that selected him were rich, powerful members of the Jewish community.”

Funny, but I had no idea 52% of the public were rich, powerful Jews.

This isn't the first time someone uttered such silliness.

Calypso Louie: Mideast Uprisings Coming to America or Something

Well, they're pretty much already here. It's called union thuggery, and it's all being orchestrated by the Obama White House.

Nation of Islam leader Minister Louis Farrakhan predicted on Sunday that America faces imminent uprisings that mirror those in the Middle East.

“What you are looking at in Tunisia, in Egypt … Libya, in Bahrain … what you see happening there … you’d better prepare because it will be coming to your door,” Farrakhan said in a booming voice, thousands of followers cheering in his wake.

Farrakhan also called on President Barack Obama to allow protesters to march, urging the president not to attack innocent people when they do.

Not sure if this maniac is aware of something called the Second Amendment. When it comes to our doors, we'll be prepared.

Just saying.

As to his warnings to Obama, that's falling on deaf ears. His union thugs are already attacking people.

It was a strange week for the loony strongman from Iran.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's six nights in New York featured a secret sit-down with militant minister Louis Farrakhan, heckling in a hotel bar, and a fear of being rubbed out that bordered on paranoia.

The president shared a hush-hush meal with Farrakhan and members of the New Black Panther Party Tuesday at the Warwick Hotel on West 54th Street.

The meeting of the podium smackers took place in a banquet room, where the fiery leaders presumably exchanged theories on what's wrong with the world.

It's not quite as nutty as Danny Glover blaming the Haiti earthquake on global warming if only because I can't quite figure out what the hell he's talking about.

Calling this weekend's earthquake in Chile a precursor to his message, Nation of Islam leader Minister Louis Farrakhan today said America can not avoid the disaster and destruction that is in store.

Delivering an address titled. "The Time and What Must Be Done," Farrkhan addressed thousands at Chicago's United Center to mark the movement's Saviours' Day, commemorating the birth of W. Fard Muhammad-the founder of the faith 80 years ago.

"It's not an accident that a great earthquake took place in Chile," he said an hour into this speech. "It was a precipitate of what I have to tell you today of what's coming to America. You will not escape."

I guess as much as the loon Al Gore is in the climate business Farrakhan now has a degree in seismology maybe?

Farrakhan's remarks in the past have drawn criticism as anti-Semitic and racist.

Funny how anti-Semitic and racist comments are construed as anti-Semitic and racist, isn't it? Well, it seems he's still obsessing on white people.

"I can't even get a meeting with a congressperson if a white man's watching," he said to thunderous applause.

Meanwhile, the racist anti-Semite continues playing the race card, much to everyone's surprise.

The 76-year-old says the stalling of health care legislation is proof.

Much of Farrakhan's speech, so far, has detailed a 1985 vision he said he had in Mexico.

Farrakhan has often recounted the experience where he says he was invited up to an unidentified flying object and warned about future events, including the 1986 attacks on Libya by the U.S.

Having Barack Obama in power has a special significance for the Chicago-based religious movement that has long espoused black nationalism and fought for black self-reliance and power.

References to the Obamas are everywhere, from a session for women called the "Michelle Obama Effect" to a bazaar selling Obama memorabilia.

The Michelle Obama Effect, I'm told, is flexing your power guns while reducing mere mortals to a blubbering pile of goo with a death scowl. It's all very frightening. Even more painful is seeing that menacing glare staring up at you at checkout counters nationwide. There is no escaping the Michelle Obama Effect. You can't stop it, you can only hope to contain it.

Nation of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan says President Barack Obama has ignited an unprecedented energy among people, and he's urging followers to not let it die.

Farrakhan says Nation of Islam members must accept responsibility to build communities. He says an economic stimulus package alone won't save America.

Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg was in the house.

Snoop Dogg has made an appearance at the Nation of Islam's annual convention in a Chicago suburb.

Wearing sunglasses, a dark suit and a tie, the rapper spoke briefly in front of a crowd of thousands Sunday and praised the Chicago-based movement's Minister Louis Farrakhan.

Farrakhan has long held relationships with famous rappers and hip-hop artists. Snoop, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, called himself the leader of the "hip-hop community" and says he'll always seek out the minister.

Calypso Louie: Obama Will Bring 'New Beginning'

Another esteemed Chicago resident weighs in on the glorious Age of Obama now sweeping the planet.

Nation of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan says the U.S. can expect a "new beginning" under the leadership of President-elect Barack Obama.

The 75-year-old is scheduled to make a speech on that topic Sunday at Mosque Maryam, the Chicago-based movement's headquarters.

The address is called "America's New Beginning: President-elect Barack Obama."

Farrakhan has praised Obama and publicly supported his bid for the White House, which Obama's campaign quickly denounced.

In February, Farrakhan called Obama the "hope of the entire world" that the U.S. will change for the better at a Chicago Saviours' Day event.

Best observation of the morning came when someone on the anchor desk noticed another guy from the neighborhood casting his vote at the same location a few minutes before Obama arrived. The name? Bill Ayers.
