Obama Mentor: 'The State of Israel is an Illegal, Genocidal ... Place'

Gee, you suppose it's just a coincidence Barack Obama harbors such disdain for Israel? Well, if you sat stone-faced for 20 years listening to this garbage, it shouldn't be a surprise.
"Barack Obama was selected before he was elected," said Mr. Wright, dressed in black pants and a short-sleeved, African-style printed tunic. "Wall Street selected him. GM, Ford and Chrysler selected him. When you are selected by them, you are beholden to them."

Referencing the Book of Exodus, he warned churchgoers to "Please remember that Pharaoh was black, so not all of your oppressors are white." A chorus of "amen" and a phalanx of arms rose simultaneously into the air in agreement with Mr. Wright.

And he said faith was not a path to riches, repeatedly poking the expensively dressed Empowerment Temple Pastor Jamal Bryant for driving a Range Rover. "Every word that is in the Bible was written under six different types of [government] oppression," he said.

Mr. Bryant spent much of the hour-and-a-half interview with Mr. Wright with his immaculately manicured right hand on his head, slouched deep in his seat.

Mr. Wright spread the blame for black persecution around on lots of people and epochs. He hates Roman emperors for renaming months after themselves and upsetting their proper numerical order; Michelangelo for painting Jesus as white; U.S. public schools for teaching the American Revolution instead of African history. In particular, he hates the term "Middle East," as it implies Europe as the center of the world.

And he hates Israel. "The state of Israel is an illegal, genocidal … place," he said. "To equate Judaism with the state of Israel is to equate Christianity with [rapper] Flavor Flav." Laughter erupted from the mostly female audience on that remark.
The state-controlled media these days subjects GOP presidential candidates to anal cavity searches, and that's just on the day they announce. Imagine if Obama was subjected to similar scrutiny. He'd still be a community agitator, not the president.

H/T.

Jeremiah Wright: People Who Think Obama's Muslim are 'Sycophants'

Maybe the media can borrow some of those ebonics translators from the DEA and have them available for stories on the loony Jeremiah Wright. Here you have the AP releasing a story where they claim the nutty Wright called people who believe Barack Obama is a Muslim are psychopaths.

Oops.
The Associated Press has withdrawn its story about Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Wright referred to people who wrongly believe Obama is Muslim as "sycophants," not psychopaths.

A corrected story will be sent shortly.
Here's a corrected version, and Wright isn't making much sense either way.
The Rev. Jeremiah Wright, President Barack Obama's controversial former pastor, accused people who wrongly believe Obama is Muslim of catering to political enemies during a fiery speech Sunday in Arkansas.

In his sermon at New Millennium Church in Little Rock, Wright criticized supporters of the Iraq war and defended former state Court of Appeals Judge Wendell Griffen for speaking out against it. Griffen serves as the church's pastor.

Wright's only reference to Obama came when he compared Griffen's opponents to those who incorrectly think Obama is Muslim. The president, whose full name is Barack Hussein Obama, is Christian.

"Go after the military mindset ... and the enemy will come after you with everything," Wright told the packed church.

"He will surround you with sycophants who will criticize you and ostracize you and put you beyond the pale of hope and say 'you ain't really a Baptist' and say 'the president ain't really a Christian, he's a Muslim. There ain't no American Christian with a name like Barack Hussein,'" he added.
What the hell is he talking about?

The Hill put up an item a few hours ago and it still uses psychopaths in the headline

Obama, meanwhile, remains very thin-skinned about it and the dreaded "birther" issue.

'When Obama Threw Me Under the Bus, He Threw Me Under the Bus Literally'

Looks like the decades-long relationship between Barack Obama and the wild-eyed lunatic jeremiah Wright may finally be irreparable. Two years after "leaving" Wright's church (hey, how's that search for a new church coming along, Barry?), Wright is now lashing out at his former buddy.
The Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Barack Obama's controversial former pastor, said in a letter obtained by The Associated Press that he is "toxic" to the Obama administration and that the president "threw me under the bus."

In his strongest language to date about the administration's 2-year-old rift with the Chicago pastor, Wright told a group raising money for African relief that his pleas to release frozen funds for use in earthquake-ravaged Haiti would likely be ignored.

"No one in the Obama administration will respond to me, listen to me, talk to me or read anything that I write to them. I am 'toxic' in terms of the Obama administration," Wright wrote the president of Africa 6000 International earlier this year.

"I am 'radioactive,' Sir. When Obama threw me under the bus, he threw me under the bus literally!" he wrote. "Any advice that I offer is going to be taken as something to be avoided. Please understand that!"

The White House didn't respond to requests for comment Monday about Wright's remarks. Several phone messages left by the AP for Wright at the Trinity United Church of Christ, where he is listed as a pastor emeritus, were not returned. Wright's spokeswoman, his daughter Jeri Wright, did not immediately comment on the substance of the letter.

Then-Sen. Obama cut ties with Wright when his more incendiary remarks became an Internet sensation in the spring of 2008. At a National Press Club appearance in April 2008, he claimed the U.S. government could plant AIDS in the black community, praised Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan and suggested Obama was putting his pastor at arm's length for political purposes while privately agreeing with him.

Obama denounced Wright as "divisive and destructive" and later cut ties to the pastor altogether and left Wright's church.

The letter was sent Feb. 18 to Joseph Prischak, the president of Africa 6000 International in Erie, Pa. Wright subsequently agreed to write a letter to Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner on the group's behalf to try to get access to millions of dollars.

Wright's original letter ranting against Obama's treatment of him surfaced in an appeal filed by federal inmate Arthur Morrison, boxing great Muhammad Ali's one-time manager, who was convicted of making phone threats.

Obama Pal Jeremiah Wright to Present Himself a 'Living Legend' Award

This is a whole lot of crazy for one building: Jeremiah Wright, Calypso Louie and Father Pfleger. A shame they couldn't fit Barack Obama and his ego in there.

'Barack Ain't Gonna Improve Your Child's Reading Score'

I guess he ain't gonna improve literacy, either.
President Barack Obama's longtime minister, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, gave an assessment Thursday of his former congregant's short time in the White House: Obama is just like any other president.

Speaking in a brief interview with The Associated Press before giving a speech at a civil rights landmark, Wright smiled at the mention of the name of the nation's first black president.

"He's like any other president," Wright said. "He's a politician and he's got to do what politicians do."

Wright's remarks were similar to those he made after his fiery preaching became a campaign issue last year, forcing Obama to distance himself from his longtime pastor at Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago.

Obama resigned from Trinity United and, ultimately, cut ties with Wright because of the uproar caused by videotaped snippets of some of Wright's sermons, in which he shouted "God damn America" and accused the government of creating AIDS.

On Thursday, Wright was addressing more than 700 people at a mass meeting that kicked off the 44th anniversary celebration of the 1965 Selma-to-Montgomery voting rights march.

The event was held at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, site of the first mass meeting that led to the watershed voting rights movement in Selma.

During his address, Wright cautioned against putting too much faith in Obama.

"Barack's name ain't Jesus. Barack ain't gonna improve your child's reading score. There are things we've got to do on our own," he said.
It's been almost a year since Obama pretended he was leaving the racist Wright's church.

How's that search for a new church going?

Racist, Sexist Reverend Wright on Obama: 'He's Still My Child'

Having been treated to the comic stylings of Bill Ayers over the weekend, it's apparent all of Barack Obama's radical associates now feel free to flap their gums. Now the incendiary racist, Jeremiah Wright, confirms he's not just an angry, America-hating madman, he's also a sexist pig.
President-elect Barack Obama made a "bad decision" by distancing himself from the Rev. Jeremiah Wright and his church, Wright said Sunday -- but that's OK.

"He's still my child," Wright said in a sermon in which he expressed pride in Obama's longtime association with Trinity United Church of Christ.

His talk was spiced with his trademark blend of history lesson, mimicry, singing, and -- depending on your point of view -- insults, or telling it like it is. One object of contempt seemed to be Elisabeth Hasselbeck of ABC's "The View," whom -- while not saying her name -- Wright twice referred to as a "broad," including once as "that dumb broad." Hasselbeck has criticized Wright on "The View."

Wright, speaking at Trinity on its 47th anniversary, said he was proud of "the only church that produced the first and only African-American president in the 211-year history of the United States. No other church can say that."

"The hatred of the media and the haters in politics may have caused him to distance himself from us, but the love of Christ will never allow me to distance myself from him,'' Wright said of Obama. "I can no more disown him than I can disown any other child of mine who makes [a] bad decision. He made a bad decision, but he's still my child."

Wright also compared the detention camp at Guantanamo Bay and Abu Ghraib Prison to the abuses of old colonial powers. "What we doing with a base in Cuba?" he asked. "We just take stuff."
Apparently, he's also illiterate.

President-in-Training Obama, out on a smoke break, was unavailable for comment.

The Wright Stuff

Too little, too late, perhaps, but they may as well get it out there. Just remember, Barack Obama sat there listening to this crap for 20 years, but pretended not to hear it.

Sure.

By the way, how's that search for a new church going? Noboody in the media seems inclined to ask.

Shocking New Ad Links Obama to His Friends

If we actually had a functioning media in this country, we'd see these faces a lot more. Actually, we'd see a lot less of Obama because he wouldn't be elected dog catcher if the public really knew about him.

Would 'Jesus The Community Organizer' Have Attended Jeremiah Wright's Church for 20 Years?

One of the more offensive political statements in memory is now making the rounds as the Democrats pick up on the nutroots line that "Jesus was a community organizer," in a rather weak retort to Sarah Palin mocking Barack Obama during the GOP convention.

Really, how vain can you get comparing Barack Obama, a two-bit Chicago hack, to Jesus Christ? Really, are they so insane to think that's going to win over religious voters?

But it begs the simple question: Would Jesus have sat in a pew for 20 years listening to the psychotic rants of Jeremiah Wright? Just in case you've forgotten who Wright is (since the media is reticent to remind you), have a sampling of Obama's buddy:

Would Jesus have tolerated that? No, I don't think so.

Yet the moronic Democrats continue to utter the absurd comparison. Remarkably, this boob Steve Cohen claims he wasn't comparing Obama to Jesus, then again compares him to Jesus. Real slick, dude.
U.S. Rep. Steve Cohen's House floor speech suggesting that both Barack Obama and Jesus were "community organizers" has lit up the blogosphere, produced heated partisan exchanges and, on Thursday, landed him on "Hardball."

Cohen released a statement on Thursday clarifying his intent in making the remarks Wednesday night, saying, "I didn't and I wouldn't compare anyone to Jesus. Jesus cannot be compared to anyone. What I pointed out was that Jesus was a force of change, and those who work to accomplish change deserve respect."
Then MSNBC imbecile Chris Matthews whips out the race card, repeating the weak assertion that calling Obama a community organizer is racist.
Chris Matthews, the MSNBC show's host, suggested that politicians should avoid metaphors referring to either Jesus or Adolf Hitler, but also suggested that Palin's ridicule of community activists was "code phrasing" pointing to Obama's urban Chicago background.
Do the Democrats really think it's a winning strategy to compare Obama with Jesus Christ and then insinuate that anyone who criticizes him is racist?

If so, I implore them to please keep it up. They'll have only themselves to blame for Obama's landslide defeat.

It speaks volumes that Obama hasn't asked his surrogates to knock off the ridiculous comparison. He obviously agrees he's as important as Jesus.

Jeremiah Wright Gushes Over Obama

Lost in the mix of the revelations of Jeremiah Wright's marriage-wrecking escapades was the fact he slithered into New Jersey Sunday with little fanfare and proceeded to fawningly praise his good pal Barack Obama. Of course, we're supposed to believe the two of them no longer have a relationship after Obama claims to have left Wright's church.

Speaking of which, how's that search for a new church going, Senator? Haven't heard anything about that in months, nor does the media seems interested, although they've found a sudden interest in a certain small church in Alaska, bless their investigate hearts.

Anyway, Wright appeared in East Orange Sunday and it's as if he and Obama has never parted ways, which, frankly, I don't believe they truly have.
Given their public falling out this spring, it was far from certain the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright would speak favorably of Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama when he preached in East Orange yesterday.

But in his afternoon sermon on Jesus' turning water into wine -- "the ordinary into the extraordinary" as Wright put it -- he neared the end of his 40-minute sermon with a riff on Obama that thrilled a church crowd of 300.

"Let me tell you how I know what I'm talking about," Wright said at Elmwood Presbyterian Church, where he leads a weeklong revival each September. "Twenty years ago, a scrawny little kid -- pointed nose, big ears, momma from Kansas, daddy from Kenya -- the Lord told him, an ordinary black boy, He told him, 'You could be a state senator ...'

"Not only did he become a state senator," Wright continued, as cheers rang up in the sanctuary, "this black boy with an African daddy from Kenya and a white American momma from Kansas, he had the audacity to hope, so he ran for the United States Senate, and the Lord turned the ordinary into the (extraordinary). And now! And now! Oh my God, and now! Whooo!"
After he stopped hyperventilating, Wright again veered off into that most fevered of all leftist maladies: Fox Derangement Syndrome.
Toward the sermon's end, though, he commanded the attention of those in the sanctuary and an overflow room, and drew grins, as he referred to the controversy briefly, mentioning two conservative cable TV commentators.

"I'm a testimony," Wright said from the pulpit, guided by lyrics to an African-American spiritual song. "I didn't make it on my own, and I'm not standing here alone. It was Jesus ... who gave me this opportunity. Not (Sean) Hannity. Not Bill O'Reilly. It was Jesus."

Then, he said, to cheers, "I ain't preaching for no journalists, I'm preaching for Jesus ... I ain't preaching for no president, I'm preaching for the prince of peace! ... Look at me! I'm a testimony! Stand on your feet!"
Whooo!

Jeremiah Wright in Sex Scandal

Quite the ladies man, that racist, psychotic, America-hating buddy of Barack Obama.
He almost wrecked Barack Obama's presidential dreams, and now firebrand pastor Jeremiah Wright has helped destroy a Dallas church worker's marriage - and her job, The Post has learned.

Elizabeth Payne, 37, said she had a steamy sexual affair with the controversial, racially divisive man of the cloth while she was an executive assistant at a church headed by a popular Wright protégé.

When word of the unholy alliance got out, Payne's husband dumped her, and she was canned from the plum job at Friendship-West Baptist Church, she told The Post.

"I was involved with Rev. Wright, and that's why I lost my job and why my husband divorced me," Payne said.

She refused to reveal when the adulterous affair started or how she met Wright.

But fellow churchgoers at Friendship-West "found out about the affair in the spring," Payne said.

At the time, she was secretary to the Rev. Frederick Haynes III, a longtime Wright disciple.

In April, Payne organized a series of Texas public appearances by Wright, 67. Weeks before, Obama had disavowed his preacher of 20 years after Wright's anti-government rants came to light.

"Liz was by Rev. Wright's side day and night during those days," a church source said.

"It's all true," said Payne, adding that she has filed a wrongful-dismissal claim with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to get her job back.

In an ironic twist, Wright last night spoke at an East Orange, NJ, church revival on the subject of "unexpected problems."

"There's no such thing as a problem-free relationship," he told a packed Elmwood United Presbyterian Church. "In life, you'll have unexpected problems."
I wonder how many more women there are?

Maybe Obama should be a nice guy and put her on the payroll.

Messiah Seeks Help From God

Could you imagine the howls from the left if a headline openly declared John McCain was seeking help from God to gain votes? The cries about the vaunted separation of church and state would reverberate nationwide.

But Barack Obama, or any Democrat for that matter, slumming for votes in church? Well, hey, that's just peachy.

The hypocrisy boggles the mind.

Anyway, all these puff pieces about this radical leftist finding God barely scratch the surface of his decades-long friendship with the maniac Jeremiah Wright and continue to perpetuate this myth of Internet "smears" claiming he's a Muslim.

People, you need to get some new talking points already.
Christian radio stations are broadcasting adverts in which Barack Obama describes how he let Jesus in his life as he knelt before a cross in a Chicago church 23 years ago.

"I felt that I heard God's spirit beckoning me," the Democratic nominee says, "I submitted myself to his will, and dedicated myself to discovering his truth."

The adverts are being funded by an organisation called the Matthew 25 Network, named after a biblical passage in which Christ promises redemption for those who care for the least and the lost.

Although not formally linked to Mr Obama's campaign, the network is part of a concerted effort to prise off a chunk of a Christian vote that has long been regarded as the more or less exclusive preserve of Republican presidential candidates.
Make you wonder why Obama would seek help from God when his Koolaid drinkers think he is God.

G-ddamn America Awarded $15 Million to Rev. Wright's Church of Hate

The chickens came home to roost at Jeremiah Wright's Church of Hate to the tune of $15 million.

Still, that apparently was not enough to stop the lunatic Wright from calling us the US of KKK-A.

Just imagine how he'd have behaved if he wasn't on the government dole?
Across America seven days a week, parents drop their kids at day care centers, which are supported by funding from the federal government.

But what makes one facility noteworthy in inner city Chicago is that it’s run by Trinity United Church of Christ. It’s the same church whose former head pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, drew widespread scrutiny after he cursed the U.S. government for its treatment of African-Americans.

FOX News has learned that over the last 15 years, Trinity has received at least $15 million in grants from the federal government — in other words, taxpayer money.

Records show this money supported a variety of outreach: everything from low income housing to nutritional programs for needy kids to money for HIV/AIDS education. Wright blames the government for intentionally infecting the African-American community with that deadly virus.

DePaul University journalism professor Laura Washington, who specializes in race and politics, said Wright is a hypocrite for taking money from the government.

“On the one hand, he says, ‘God damn America’ and he says America is responsible for all the ills in the black community. On the other hand, he’s taking money from the same community he’s crucifying,” Washington said.

But another scholar who specializes in religion and politics says Wright never swore off government funding like ultra-nationalist Black Muslims have.

Andrew Walsh, associate director of the Leonard E. Greenberg Center for the Study of Religion in Public Life with Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., said Wright’s practices fall in line with his preaching.

“Wright believes things like the government-funded programs are a necessary compensation for the legacy of white racism, part of what’s necessary to heal the wounds inflicted over four centuries on blacks. His niche is even more specialized– he does this sort of work in the context of white denominational mainline Protestantism, which, on the whole has welcomed both him and his message.”
I wonder how much of that largesse Barack Obama helped steer there? Obama claims none.
Democratic presidential candidate and Illinois Sen. Barack Obama says the grants didn’t come with any of his help, despite 20 years of membership at Trinity.

In fact, after the Obama campaign learned FOX News was working on this report, it released a statement saying, “Barack Obama did not work to secure grant money for Trinity United Church of Christ while serving in the Illinois state Legislature or Congress.”
A little parsing there. How about was he was an alleged community organizer?

Thanks to Gateway Pundit for the link.

Change! Obama Flees Crazy Church

Now there's a man of principle, willing to stand up for his friends and spiritual mentors.

Uh, not really.
Sen. Barack Obama's campaign confirmed Saturday that he has resigned from the Chicago church where controversial sermons by his former pastor and other ministers created repeated political headaches for the Democratic frontrunner.

The resignation comes days after the Rev. Michael Pfleger, a visiting Catholic priest, mocked Obama's Democratic rival, Sen. Hillary Clinton, for crying during the runup to the New Hampshire primary.

Previously, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, former pastor at Trinity United Church of Christ and Obama's minister for about 20 years, drew unwanted attention for the campaign when videos of his fiery sermons surfaced.

'Reverend Wright Stole My Wife'

This Jeremiah Wright is a real piece of work. Not only has he submarined Barack Obama's shot at the White House, it looks like he's a two-faced operator when it comes to the game of love.
The Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Barack Obama's loose cannon of a spiritual adviser, stole the wife of a parishioner - after the man sought Wright's help in saving his troubled marriage, the former husband told friends.

Delmer Reed, 59, confided to pals that he believed the minister moved in on his wife while Wright was counseling the couple at his Chicago church in the early 1980s, The Post has learned.

"That's exactly how he said it," Reed's divorce lawyer, Roosevelt Thomas, told The Post.

"It looks like Delmer might have been right," he said, because after Delmer and Ramah Reed were divorced, she got remarried - to Wright. "Either that or this was the biggest coincidence in the world."

Asked about the relationship between Wright and his ex-wife, Reed told The Post, "Oh, the things I could tell you."
Wright naturally denies it all (who wouldn't believe him?), but apparently everyone knew the deal..
But years ago, Reed did express anger about the situation, said Harold Davis, who said he learned about the matter through mutual friends.

"Jeremiah knew all the weaknesses of the couple, and he started focusing on the wife, her vulnerabilities, and started doing things she wanted Delmer to do - spending time with her, taking her to the movies, that sort of thing," said Davis, who heads the Chicago branch of football great Jim Brown's Amer-I-can youth program.

"Everybody knew Jeremiah took the man's wife," said Davis. "It was common knowledge."

Northwestern to Reverend Wright: On Second Thought...

Northwestern University was all poised to give the Revrund Jeremiah Wrong an honorary Doctorate of Sacred Theology. Well after careful consideration they have rescinded the offer.
But vice president for university relations Alan Cubbage now says the offer has been rescinded because of the controversy surrounding Wright. He also says the school wants "to ensure that the celebratory character of commencement not be affected."
And in other college news remember the story a while back about the governor of West Virginia whose daughter received a masters degree that it looks like she didn't earn? Well there is more fallout.
Six months after his inauguration, President Mike Garrison is struggling to hold his administration together - and keep his job - amid a scandal that erupted after the school granted Gov. Joe Manchin's daughter a master's degree she didn't earn.

Two top university officials resigned last weekend over their part in the episode. Major donors have canceled plans to donate millions. Members of the Faculty Senate are planning a no-confidence vote on Garrison next week. And critics inside and outside the university have demanded the president resign over what appears to be an instance in which political pull influenced the awarding of a degree.
But wait a minute. Buried way down in the story is some more information on those 2 "university officials" who "resigned".
The resignations of Provost Gerald Lang and R. Stephen Sears, dean of the business school, have not satisfied the most vocal of the critics, particularly since Lang and Sears will remain as tenured professors, with Lang earning nearly $200,000 a year and Sears almost $160,000. Lang presided over the meeting last October during which Sears made the final decision to grant the governor's daughter a degree.
So who is yanking whose chain here? Oh yeah the governor being the good Democrat that he is is also a super delegate.

Wright: He's a 'Barack-Stabber!'

Psycho preacher Jeremiah Wright isn't too happy Barack Obama tossed him under the bus, and apparently has been seething since January 2007 when Obama dis-invited him from his announcement that he was running for president.

Is it any wonder this maniac has seemingly been undermining Obama the past few months?
The Rev. Jeremiah Wright would be happy to see Barack Obama's presidential campaign derailed because the pastor is fuming that his former congregant has "betrayed" their 20-year relationship, The Post has learned.

"After 20 years of loving Barack like he was a member of his own family, for Jeremiah to see Barack saying over and over that he didn't know about Jeremiah's views during those years, that he wasn't familiar with what Jeremiah had said, that he may have missed church on this day or that and didn't hear what Jeremiah said, this is seen by Jeremiah as nonsense and betrayal," said the source, who has deep roots in Wright's Chicago community and is familiar with his thinking on the matter.

"Jeremiah is trying to defend his congregation and the work of his ministry by saying what he is saying now," the source added.

"Jeremiah doesn't care if he derails Obama's candidacy or not . . . He knows what he's doing. Obviously, he's not a dumb man. He knows he's not helping."

The source spoke yesterday about Wright's motivation for thrusting himself back into the news, the day after the pastor appeared at the National Press Club on Monday and embarrassed Obama by accusing the United States of terrorism.

Wright has said the reason he has begun granting interviews and making public appearances now is that he wants to defend black churches.

But the source said the preacher's motivation is much more personal.

The source noted that the roots of Wright's disillusionment with Obama began last year after the Illinois senator unexpectedly yanked him from participating in the public announcement of his presidential campaign.

"That's why Jeremiah revealed . . . that he had actually been at the [announcement] hotel and prayed privately with the Obama family before the official declaration," the source told The Post.

"Rev. Wright, as well as other senior members of his church, believe that Obama has betrayed over 20 years of their supposed friendship."
Obama comes off looking incredibly weak and it's fair game to question his judgment as to how he could sit there in Wright's church for 20 years and see nothing wrong with the demented views of this America-hating loon.

Ralph Peters has a look at the cult of victim-hood (hello, Michelle Obama), while Michelle Malkin has a look at the Jive-Talk Express.

Commentary from far and wide here.

In what has to be one of the lamest attempts at changing the subject, on the day Obama denounces his buddy of 20 years, what does the Associated Press do?

Their chief political correspondent files an item on how much Obama loves to play basketball. What is this, some pathetic attempt to shore up his cred with the peeps in the 'hood?
He's confident and competitive. Superstitious and silly. Admits his mistakes. Shares credit. Always in control. That's Barack Obama on the basketball court, the hardwood hideaway that helped him adjust to a white world as a racially mixed teenager — and now stands as a sweaty platform for his Democratic presidential campaign.

Hillary may have Bill. But Barack's got game.

For months, the Illinois senator kept his "first love" under wraps, but suddenly basketball is center court as a political strategy. It's no accident: Obama needs something — anything — to deflect attention from the re-emergence of Rev. Jeremiah Wright, his bombastic former pastor whose racially charged opinions threaten to widen the disconnect between the Illinois senator and white working-class voters.
Obama needs anything to distract from Wright, and Ron Fournier willingly complies, by talking about ... basketball.

Unreal.

Obama's Chicken Comes to Washington

The insane Jeremiah Wright slithered into Washington today and a few folks braved the inclement weather outside the National Press Club to have their say.

Obama's Psycho Preacher Claims His Words Were Twisted

This is just pathetic.

Anyone who's seen the video knows all too well this jerk meant what he said, so playing some word games isn't going to float. No doubt his interviewer lapped it up, but he's a lost cause anyway.
In his first wide-ranging interview since video clips of his inflammatory sermons were aired, the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. defended himself over the controversy, saying that his words were twisted.
Mr. Wright, Senator Barack Obama’s former pastor, gave an interview to Bill Moyers on Wednesday, to air on PBS tomorrow.

“I felt it was unfair,” Mr. Wright said, according to excerpts of the interview released Thursday. “I felt it was unjust. I felt it was untrue. I felt for those who were doing that, were doing it for some very devious reasons.”
What was untrue about "God Damn America"?

You said it. Deal with it.
In Mr. Wright’s sermons, he suggested that Americans bore some responsibility for the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, saying “America’s chickens are coming home to roost.” He also blamed the government for the spread of AIDS among African-Americans, characterized the United States government as corrupt and referred to the “U.S. of K.K.K. A.”
Seems pretty clear to me where he's coming from.
“It’s to paint me as something — ‘Something’s wrong with me. There’s nothing wrong with this country … for its policies. We’re perfect. Our hands are free. Our hands have no blood on them,’” he said. “That’s not a failure to communicate. The message that is being communicated by the sound bites is exactly what those pushing those sound bites want to communicate.”
Aww, the poor baby.
Mr. Wright, who has acted as Mr. Obama’s spiritual mentor and retired in February as pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, said that he has never heard Mr. Obama repeat any of his controversial statements.

“Absolutely not,” Mr. Wright said. “I don’t talk to him about politics. And so he had a political event, he goes out as a politician and says what he has to say as a politician. I continue to to be a pastor who speaks to the people of God about the things of God.”
Says what he has to say? In other words, it isn't what he really believes?

And what's this about he continues to be a pastor? The second paragraph of the story says he's a former pastor?

... To Tell The Truth, The Whole Truth ....

It's now a race to see which New Democrat can skate on the biggest lie.

Herr Dr. Josef Goebbels would be proud.

Obama Would Have Left if Wright Stayed

White House hopeful Barack Obama suggests he would have left his Chicago church had his longtime pastor, whose fiery anti-American comments about U.S. foreign policy and race relations threatened Obama's campaign, not stepped down.
Yeah, right. And I'm the high rabbi of Mecca, Medina and Riyadh.
"Had the reverend not retired, and had he not acknowledged that what he had said had deeply offended people and were inappropriate and mischaracterized what I believe is the greatness of this country, for all its flaws, then I wouldn't have felt comfortable staying at the church," Obama said Thursday during a taping of the ABC talk show, "The View." The interview will be broadcast Friday.

In his sermons over the years, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright has railed against the United States and accused it of bringing on the Sept. 11 attacks by spreading terrorism. He also has said the government invented AIDS to destroy "people of color" and has shouted "God damn America" for its treatment of minorities.

Videos of his remarks circulated on the Internet and on television.

In an attempt to quiet the controversy, Obama gave a speech last week in which he sharply condemned Wright's remarks but did not repudiate him.

Obama said Wednesday he has spoken with Wright, who retired from Trinity United Church of Christ last month but remains as a senior pastor.
Amazing. Absolutely freakin' amazing. It seems that Obama has no problem with Wright's status of 'retired' but remains as 'senior pastor'. But, as a lieyer (Harvard Law, '91), Obama's well-versed in the art of double-speak.
Hillary Rodham Clinton, Obama's rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, broke her silence on the matter Tuesday, saying she would have parted company with a pastor who spoke about the country the way Wright has.

If this crock o' shit doesn't blow up in Obama's face, the RINO just might be in trouble come November.
