Sheila Jackson Lee to Aide: 'I Don't Care Anything About Your Disability'

Democrat compassion in action.
Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee's former legislative director is suing the Democratic congresswoman, claiming she made "humiliating" comments about her vision disability while refusing to do anything to accommodate her.

At one point, the lawsuit claims, the congresswoman told her: "I don't care anything about your disability."

The lawsuit, filed last month in District of Columbia federal court, seeks unspecified damages in the form of "back and front pay," as well as punitive damages. Former aide Mona Floyd claims Jackson Lee's treatment of her amounted to "unlawful discrimination" and contributed to her resignation last fall.

The suit states that Floyd suffers from "monocular vision," causing eye fatigue and reducing reading speed -- symptoms that worsen without adequate rest during the day.

Floyd claims that after she came to work for Jackson Lee as legislative director and chief counsel in early 2010, the congresswoman did not follow through on a pledge from her office to "accommodate her disability."

She specifically claimed the congresswoman piled her with reading assignments, often forcing her to work from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. without breaks to get it all done. Floyd claimed she was rebuffed when she asked for more time to rest her eyes. In April 2010, the suit claims, Jackson Lee told her, "It should not take 10 years to get them done," in reference to a reading assignment.

The suit went on to question Jackson Lee's legislative efforts on behalf of disabled Americans, saying her treatment of Floyd showed she "only paid lip service to that constituency."
This horrible woman was once voted second meanest person in Congress. Maybe it's time she was bumped up to the top spot, which she claimed for being the biggest windbag.

Confirmed: Sheila Jackson Lee is a Blithering Idiot

Another day, another case of raging idiocy from the dumbest member of Congress.
Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee (D.-Texas) told the House Judiciary Committee yesterday that the “penalty” that the health-care law enacted last year by Congress imposes on individuals who do not buy health insurance is not in fact a penalty.

The law itself states: “If an applicable individual fails to meet the requirement of subsection (a) [having a government-approved health-insurance policy]… there is hereby imposed a penalty with respect to the individual.”
But according to Sheila Jackson Lee, super genius, it's not a penalty. It's an incentive!
“I would make the argument, one, that instead it is an incentive to do right--that it is not penalizing because penalty is punishment,” Jackson-Lee told the Judiciary Committee.
So the punitive penalty isn't a penalty. Or a punishment. Got that?

But wait, there's more!
“You’re not punished if you have health insurance, in fact. And so you are, in fact, incentivized to have health insurance, rather than take the negative which is to suggest that because we have a penalty you are being punished,” Rep. Jackson-Lee said.
Huh? Is there a translator in the house?
“But I also need to say whether or not it is more an incentive than it is a punishment,” said Rep. Jackson-Lee. “I am more inspired by incentive. And I welcome it being a parking ticket. We get parking tickets all the time, and no one complains about being required to do the right thing.”
What the f**k is she talking about?

Dumbest Woman in Congress Upset by Pepsi Commercial

When I saw this commercial Sunday night I thought it was pretty stupid, but I wasn't offended. Of course I consider myself a normal human being and I don't go out of my way to be offended or participate in grievance theater.

But sure enough, here comes the dumbest woman in the Congress to whine about it.
Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) took to the House floor Tuesday night to criticize what she called a "demeaning" Pepsi ad that aired during the Super Bowl.

In the ad for Pepsi Max, a black woman sitting on a park bench gets angry with her husband after an attractive, white female jogger sits down next to the couple and smiles and waves at the man.

After the man smiles back, his girlfriend or wife gets angry and whips her Pepsi Max can at him. The man ducks, and the can hits the attractive jogger in the head. The ad is titled "Love hurts."
I guess this should be the lesson for Pepsi. In order to avoid any "controversy" or "outrage" from the simpletons out there, be sure you have commercials with only black people or only white people. Don't ever mix the two races together or you'll be under siege by the race-mongers.
Jackson Lee said it was ridiculous for the soft drink maker to air the advertisement during African-American history month.

"In this month of African-American history where we're trying to celebrate what is good and great, it certainly seems ridiculous that Pepsi would utilize this kind of humor," she said. "It was not humorous. It was demeaning — an African-American woman throwing something at an African-American male and winding up hitting a Caucasian woman."
Uh, Ms. Lee. It's OK to call us white people. I, for one, am not offended.
Jackson Lee said she has a sense of humor and believes in the First Amendment. She also said the Super Bowl is a great time for "fellowship" with family members.
Really? She has a sense of humor? Probably explains why she wears her hair the way she does.

Cheesiest Use of a Giant Placard Since Alan Grayson's Last House Floor Speech

Can you see it there, right behind Sheila Jackson Lee?

It's a little hard to make out with that bundt cake hairdo blocking the view, but that is supposed to be a picture of a Medicare patient at risk of losing her coverage if Obamacare is repealed.

Or something like that.

Nevermind that Obamacare is paid for (we're told) in part by taking $500 billion out of Medicare. So by repealing Obamacare, that $500 billion would remain in Medicare - thereby causing the sick old lady in the picture to be tossed out on the street to fend for herself!

Don't follow the logic? Don't worry, neither does Neil Cavuto. We can't all be geniuses like Sheila Jackson Lee.

The New Civility: Democrat Says Repealing ObamaCare is 'Killing Americans'

Congress hasn't even voted on the repeal of ObamaCare, but one of the bright lights from the Democratic Party is already helping change the tone in Washington by wailing how the GOP is already killing people.
Repealing healthcare reform would result in "killing Americans," one Democratic lawmaker suggested Tuesday night.

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas), in a speech on the House floor about the rhetoric surrounding Republicans' bill to undo the new reform law, said repeal would result in more deaths in the U.S.

"Frankly, I would just say to you, this is about saving lives. Jobs are very important; we created jobs," Jackson Lee said. "But even the title of their legislation, H.R. 2, 'job killing' — this is killing Americans if we take this away, if we repeal this bill."
Really, the Democrats created jobs? Uh, where exactly? Millions of jobs have been lost during their reign of error and we're supposed to pretend they've been creating jobs?

Well, Jackson Lee hasn't ever been known as one of the brightest bulbs.
"So I would argue that my good friends, some of them are new and I appreciate their newness, I appreciate their desire to keep a commitment to constituents — but when you come to the Congress, you have to govern, you have to look at the whole of America," Jackson Lee said in her floor speech. "And therefore, looking at the whole of America, you need to look at the crux; the crux is saving lives."
Has this woman ever made any sense?

Mindblowing Hypocrisy: MSNBC Clown Calls for 'Decency' Law

Sure, let's leave it up to Ed Schultz, racist Al Sharpton and the clueless Sheila Jackson Lee to decide what can or can't be said on the airwaves. If they actually spent the time listening to Rush Limbaugh instead of being fed spliced clips and edited transcripts from Media Matters they wouldn't look like such buffoons.

Savor the irony of a far-left bombthrower from MessNBC calling for decency. You can't make this stuff up.

Ms Lee, Call On The Red Courtesy Phone

The always clueless Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX)just epitomizes what has so many in this country up in arms over our elected officials. It isn't just the healthcare bill, it is the total lack of any sort of sense that the perfumed princes of DC have any idea of what is going on in America.

How much chutzpa does it take to answer your cell phone while a constituent is asking you a question at your townhall meeting?

The arrogance of those who reside within the bubble of The Beltway has reached epic proportions, and I mean that of politicians of all stripes.

Watch beyond the cell phone part though to see her response to a statement and a question revolving around the Tuskegee Airmen and how her followers try to help her.

Ethics Schmethics: Rangel and Pals Hit the Caribbean on Corporate Dime

What, you expect rules and laws to apply to Charlie Rangel? Quite an illustrious lineup he brought along to the posh Caribbean resort. Must be great to be above the law.
High-ranking members of Congress were flown to a lush Caribbean resort this month for a three-day conference planned and paid for by several of the country's most powerful corporations - a violation of federal ethics rules, critics say.

Six members of the Congressional Black Caucus attended the 13th annual Caribbean Multi-National Business Conference in sun-drenched St. Maarten, including embattled Harlem Rep. Charles Rangel and New Jersey Rep. Donald Payne.

Three New York City officials attended, including Comptroller William Thompson and Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrion Jr., as well as Gov. Paterson, who was the keynote speaker at a luncheon on the second day of the gathering.

The politicians were seen by The Post during the Nov. 6-9 conference, walking among the palm trees on the breezy grounds of the sprawling, terra cotta Sonesta Maho Beach Resort and Casino.

Paterson's office said he'd paid for his own travel and lodging during his visit. But other legislators enjoyed free airfare, meals and hotel rooms covered by the trip's organizer - and paid for by donations from corporations such as IBM, AT&T, Verizon, Citigroup, Pfizer, Macy's and American Airlines, a Post investigation discovered.

Officials with those companies were observed at the conference - sometimes acting as featured speakers at daily seminars and freely mingling among the pols at social events. Citigroup - which just last week received a massive bailout from the federal government - was one of the conference's biggest sponsors, ponying up $100,000 to help finance the event, according to one of the lobbyists at the gathering.

A spokesman for Citigroup told The Post the company has financially supported the conference for several years, but would not reveal an amount.
Of course, if anyone dares to criticize these freeloaders, you'll likely be called racist. Besides, these are all Democrats involved, so nothing will happen.
But according to House ethics rules, members of Congress and their staffs cannot accept multiday trips from a corporation that "employs or retains a registered lobbyist. Included in this limitation are companies, firms, non-profit organizations (including charities), and other private entities that retain or employ a lobbyist."

Though the conference's organizer is listed as New York City-based Carib News Foundation, that group pays for the event through donations from private, for-profit companies.

Furthermore, according to House rules, members of Congress must seek prior written permission from the House Committee on Standards of Official Conduct to take free multiday trips. They must also file reports with the Clerk of the House of Representatives listing all financial sponsors within two weeks of each trip.

The filings for the St. Maarten trip were due last Monday. But as of that date, only Rep. Payne's filings were available.

A spokesman for Rangel said his disclosure forms were submitted last Monday - but by the end of the week his filing hadn't turned up in the database of the Clerk of the House.
Must be a clerical error, of course.

Sheila Jackson Lee and The Art of Stupidity

Conservative Punk caught this gem of nitwit Democrat Sheila Jackson Lee praising Barack Obama, the man who took credit for the bailout before it failed, for delivering the votes.

Just one problem. She voted against it, even though he didn't deliver diddly squat.

Got all that? Get out the wading boots before watching the video.

This isn't Lee's only foray into the land of make believe. Last year she claimed Venezuela was a friendly nation. Of course, so does another friend of Barack's Obama's, but why drag Bill Ayers into this?

Lee is also famous for suggesting the names of hurricanes should be more representative of the cultures they impact.

Seriously.

Congresswoman Wants to Arm Sworn Enemy

Nobody has ever accused Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Moonbat) of being the brightest bulb, but her latest suggestion borders on lunacy. Of course, I'm sure President Pantsuit (God, help us) or some other Democrat nitwit would do this this as a peace offering, knowing if we just had the proper amount of dialogue, everyone would love us.
A U.S. congresswoman called on the Bush administration Wednesday to reconsider its ban on selling parts for U.S.-made F-16 fighter jets to Venezuela, urging improved ties between the two nations.

U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, a Texas Democrat, told reporters that she was making the first U.S. congressional visit to Venezuela since President Hugo Chavez's December re-election with the message: "I want an immediate repairing of the relations between the United States and Venezuela."

Jackson Lee described Venezuela as a friendly nation that the U.S. should cooperate with and said that the F-16 jets, which are built in Texas, was an issue of concern to her constituents in Houston.
Yes, they're really friendly under their new Communist dictatorship. Well, folks, elections really do matter. Now you have a party wanting to suck up to someone who is working with Iran, Cuba, and al-Qaeda. Swell.
The U.S. State Department has banned arms sales to Venezuela, including parts necessary to maintain its fleet of F-16s, citing a lack of support by Chavez's government for counterterrorism efforts and its close relations with Iran and Cuba.

Venezuela has since begun receiving the first of 24 Russian-made Sukhoi fighter jets as part of approximately $3 billion in military deals that Chavez has signed with Moscow.

She said her fact-finding mission to Venezuela was part of an effort by a new Democrat-controlled Congress to show that "Venezuela has many friends in this new Congress."
I have no doubt they do.

Bryan at Hot Air has more, as does A Blog For All.

Elsewhere, check out this New York Sun report on the dubious elections results in Venezuela, certified by the idiot Jimmy Carter.
Hugo Chavez may have lost both the recall referendum in 2004 and the December 2006 presidential election, according to studies conducted by a distinguished multidisciplinary team in Caracas, Venezuela. The team includes the rector of Universidad Simon Bolivar, Frederick Malpica, and a former rector of the National Electoral Council, Alfredo Weil.

Astonishing as it may seem to Americans who believe the contention by Mr. Chavez that he won both elections by a landslide -- 58% to 42% in the recall and 61% to 39% in the presidential election -- the studies show that since 2003, Mr. Chavez has added 4.4 million favorable names to the voter list and "migrated" 2.6 million unfavorable voters to places where it was difficult or impossible for them to vote.
In this country, the lunatic fringe are still whining over the 2000 Florida election, but have no problem with rigged elections in Venezuela.
