Change Is Now the Third Clinton Term

When Barack Obama babbles endlessly about change, doesn't that imply a break from the failed policies of Democrat days gone by?

You would think. But it's all just a cliche. Seriously, how does a cadaver in formaldehyde like Warren Christopher represent change? A relic of both the Carter and Clinton administrations is change?

Outside of Bill and Hillary, this appears to be the makings of the third Clinton term.

Barack Obama yesterday named a foreign policy panel to give him advice and possibly fill Cabinet posts if he is elected in November - and it's chock full of former Clinton administration bigs.

Among them are ex-Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, former Defense Secretary William Perry and former Secretary of State Warren Christopher.

We keep hearing how old John McCain is. Christopher was already shaving when McCain was born.

Change!

Other advisers are: Lee Hamilton, vice chairman of the 9/11 Commission; David Boren, former governor and senator from Oklahoma; Greg Craig, a former senior adviser to Albright; Richard Danzig, former secretary of the Navy; Eric Holder, deputy attorney general under Clinton; Sam Nunn, former senator from Georgia who chaired the Senate Armed Services Committee; and James Sternberg, deputy national security adviser to Clinton.

The free speech critics were right. Forget all the feigned outrage from both the Obama and McCain campaigns. From the breakdown of the public financing system to the proliferation of 527 organizations to the rise of wealthy, self-financed candidates, it should be clear by now that money, like water, will find a way around every effort to block its path.

This Is Change?

Quiz time: What do Madeleine Albright, Warren Christopher, William Perry, Jamie Gorelick, Tony Lake, Susan Rice, Greg Craig, Eric Holder, Richard Danzig and Jim Steinberg all have in common?

They're all former Clinton Administration officials in some capacity, many of them undistinguished.

So going back to the 90s represents change?

Today he'll be working with a senior working group, which includes most of the above. Gorelick, of course, was responsible for the wall that hampered the pursuit of terrorists during her time as No. 2 to the bumbling Janet Reno.

Now she's being considered for the top post herself.

Wonderful. Gives you such a safe feeling, no?

So it's fair game for Obama to be labeled with the September 10 mindset.
