So Glad For The Era of Post Racial Politics

Well, well, well, what is a Democrat supposed to do when asked about members of his party switching to the Republican party? Why tell them to keep their "white sheets handy for the midnight meetings" of course.

The esteemed elected official might want to remember that the switch to the Republican party in the state really got a boost when two African American gentlemen announced that they were switching parties
Two African-American Democrats on Thursday announced that they were joining the Republican Party.

Hall County Commissioner Ashley Bell and former state executive committee member Andre Walker said the Democratic Party had grown too liberal and they are finding a new home with the Republicans.over a disagreement with what the national Democrat party stood for.

The other gentleman in the video, while obviously appearing nervous at the comment, let it pass. He then later asked State Senator Robert Brown to apologize for making the obvious reference to the KKK and by extension smearing all Republicans.

Today Mr Brown held a mini press briefing where he once again proved that being Democrat means never having to say you're sorry and issued a short statement saying he never made reference to the KKK. Ummm, yeah except for that part about white sheets and midnight meetings. He took no questions and on the way out somebody who was accompanying him apparently knocked a reporter down.
As Brown and his aides left the Macon City Hall chambers, 13WMAZ's Bofta Yimam says a man who arrived and left with Brown knocked down Macon Telegraph photographer Woody Marshall.

Stay classy Dems.

Uh Oh: Attack Was Racially Motivated

It took some digging, but after I saw a headline that proclaimed loudly that the attack and murder of a Hispanic male was being described by prosecutors as being racially motivated I had to go check it out. Of course, the first thought is this would be tied back to those racist Tea Partiers, of course. My first clue came when the race of the people charged in this murder were not specified and simple curiosity took over from there.

My first clue came in a news article which gave the names of the 'teenagers'.
Steven Mack, Demetrius Yarborough, Deandre Roosevelt Rucker, Sherwin Bilal Archie and Darrius Lavale Tyson face other charges related to the death of Ponce. Pressley said Ponce didn't understand English, so he didn't know what the robbers were ordering him to do -- that's why he was killed.
I ran into story after story that merely repeated the same information which then led me to search on the names. It seems that Mr. Rucker is not a stranger to the world of crime and punishment.

In June, Rucker completed a six-month jail sentence for a probation revocation, according to state Department of Correction records. He was given probation in 2009 after being convicted of felony larceny over $1,000, breaking-and-entering, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and two counts of misdemeanor larceny.

DOC records state that while in prison, he racked up five infractions.
Then I found Mr. Yarborough's mug shot, he also is no stranger to the judicial system.

Yarborough was placed on probation Aug. 24 after convicted on two counts of misdemeanor larceny, conspiracy to commit credit-card theft and another conspiracy charge, according to state Department of Correction records
Finally, I found the mug shots of last two 18-year-olds.

So my question is, where is the ACLU, all the civil rights advocates and the usual parade of race-baiting liberals? The prosecutor says this attack was racially motivated so where are the John Lewis's and Al Sharptons of this world in regards to this case?

Of course, I am probably racist for pointing this out.

Chirp, chirp.

Classy: Liberal Twit Labels Tea Partiers as Racist, Calls Marco Rubio a 'Coconut'

Liberal racism and ignorance once again proudly on display. Consider the irony of an MSNBC/CNBC moron cavalierly accusing tea partiers of being racist with absolutely no evidence to support that assertion, then he calls Florida Senate candidate Marco Rubio a coconut, or brown on the outside and white inside. It shows how ignorant this Donny Deutsch is. If he had the slightest clue about politics he'd know Cubans in Florida have been largely voting Republican for decades. How could they not when liberals so freely associate themselves with Fidel Castro.

Via NewsBusters, with the transcript of Deutsch appearing with empty head Joy Behar.
DEUTSCH: We're such a media frenzy, 24/7 world that almost anybody that's been around too long, there's so much "no" attached to it, that you almost need that blank piece of paper. That's the new model. Like, you know, this coconut Rubio down in Florida. You know-

BEHAR: What's his name? I don't know him. Rubio?

DEUTSCH: Marco Rubio. He's running against Charlie Crist, who I think has done a great job. And he is the new great, you now, hope down there.

BEHAR: So, basically, these people, the tea partiers are basically angry with the right and the left for the same reason, that there's fiscal irresponsibility?

DEUTSCH: No, they're angry- they're basically- their argument is- and I think there's a lot of racism underneath it- is- "He, they, are taking your civil liberties away. They're stomping on the Constitution. They're telling us how many bullets we can have in our guns."
As pathetic as Deutsch is, how insipid is Behar? It's one thing to just be plain stupid, but how clueless can she be that she has no idea who Marco Rubio is. And she's hosting a political talk show?

Good grief, these liberals are stupid. It goes without saying Deutsch should apologize for his racist comment but I won't hold my breath. Sinking ever further into cable oblivion is probably enough punishment for him.

I Will Not Be Silenced

So much for Saturday's being slow news days. There is now a brouhaha shaping up spurred on by a Democrat representative from Georgia by the name of John Lewis. He is no stranger to the race wars.

Here is a chronology of events so far today.

First it is Lewis shooting off his mouth.

"As one who was a victim of violence and hate during the height of the Civil Rights Movement, I am deeply disturbed by the negative tone of the McCain-Palin campaign. What I am seeing today reminds me too much of another destructive period in American history. Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin are sowing the seeds of hatred and division, and there is no need for this hostility in our political discourse.

"During another period, in the not too distant past, there was a governor of the state of Alabama named George Wallace who also became a presidential candidate. George Wallace never threw a bomb. He never fired a gun, but he created the climate and the conditions that encouraged vicious attacks against innocent Americans who only desired to exercise their constitutional rights. Because of this atmosphere of hate, four little girls were killed one Sunday morning when a church was bombed in Birmingham, Alabama.

"As public figures with the power to influence and persuade, Sen. McCain and Governor Palin are playing with fire, and if they are not careful, that fire will consume us all. They are playing a very dangerous game that disregards the value of the political process and cheapens our entire democracy. We can do better. The American people deserve better."

Mr Lewis never accused Hillary Clinton, who he supported at first, of any such thing when she was making the same statements.

The McCain camp, to their credit, hit back demanding that the Obama denounce such talk.

Well, now the Obama has issued a statement. Doesn't sound like they renounced anything.

Senator Obama does not believe that John McCain or his policy criticism is in any way comparable to George Wallace or his segregationist policies. But John Lewis was right to condemn some of the hateful rhetoric that John McCain himself personally rebuked just last night, as well as the baseless and profoundly irresponsible charges from his own running mate that the Democratic nominee for President of the United States pals around with terrorists. As Barack Obama has said himself, the last thing we need from either party is the kind of angry, divisive rhetoric that tears us apart at a time of crisis when we desperately need to come together. That is the kind of campaign Senator Obama will continue to run in the weeks ahead, said Obama-Biden spokesman Bill Burton.

Did she hit a nerve? I will not be silenced by the race card or intimidated into some sort of white guilt by the race warlords. You want anger, Barry O? Does anger scare you? You want to know what people are angry about? It is all of your associations, not just William Ayers. How about Tony Rezko? Bernadette Dohrn? Jeremiah Wright? Jeffrey Pfleger?

Are your internal polls indicating something the public polls aren't? Are you really losing this race in spite of all of your assistance from the media?

You say you want this to be about issues, yet when asked about issues, which is rare, you evade and go off and tell us what a wonderful government program you are waiting to impose to solve all of our problems.

We are angry because you surround yourself with people who act as an echo chamber, constantly telling you how great you are, while at the same time embracing the most radical fringes of your party. Have you ever denounced anything MoveOn has done? Have you ever criticized what passes for comments over on those favorite liberal blogs of yours like the Daily Kos and Democratic Underground? Did you ever condemn any of the liberal columnists or radio personalities who openly wished for the death of Bush or Cheney?

Maybe you ought to clean up your own side of the aisle before you come over picking a fight on the other side.

Forget Racism, Let's Worry About 'Colorism'

These folks at the New York Times have way too much time on their hands.

So obsessed with race, this genius actually admits racism is declining (thanks in no part to the race grievance culture on the left), but now introduces something else to fret about: colorism.
Among other things, the authors coded the appearances of all African-Americans elected to the House, the Senate, or a governorship, going back to 1865. They report that “light skinned [black people] have always been considerably overrepresented and dark-skinned blacks dramatically underrepresented as elected officials.’’
Well, maybe this explains the rise of Barack Obama. Perhaps Democrats feel safe voting for the black guy who isn't that dark.
The country is moving away from the blunt-force racism that once banished black people to the other side of the Jim Crow line. But we have entered a period of secondary discrimination — or “colorism’’ — that will be difficult to overthrow.
Yes, it will be difficult to overthrow, especially with the race industry shoving it down our throats every day.

Democrats: The Party of Racism

You just know the opinions of Bruce Bartlett will cause a firestorm with the Democrats.

Because it's all too true.
Racial gaffes by Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's presidential campaign, the meteoric rise of Sen. Barack Obama and the pivotal role of the South Carolina primary on Saturday have intensified the issue of race in the Democratic Party, which makes Bruce Bartlett seem like a prophet of sorts.

In his new book, "Wrong on Race: The Democratic Party's Buried Past," Mr. Bartlett chronicles the party's history from slavery to the civil rights era and beyond, providing a look at such figures as South Carolina's "Pitchfork Ben" Tillman and other racist Democrats.

"At least on a historical level, the Democratic Party has always been the party of racism," Mr. Bartlett said in a telephone interview with The Washington Times.

A former Reagan administration official whose previous book "Impostor" criticized President Bush for straying from conservative policies, Mr. Bartlett said the purpose of his latest book is to challenge Democrats' "party of inclusion" mantra and to encourage black voters to dutifully consider the merits of both major parties.

"One purpose of the book was to give Republicans a kind of story to tell, if they decide to go into the black community and talk to black leaders," he said. "I think at an abstract level there are a lot of blacks who recognize that being almost totally part of one political party and not being involved with the other is not good for them."
Democrats long ago began taking the black vote for granted, and the GOP would be much healthier if they genuinely sought the black vote without having to quiver and quake about being called racist.

In fact, the GOP has been the one party that has promoted and supported the African-American community in deeds, not words.

Just look at the cabinet makeup of the past two presidents if you need a guide.
The rise of Mr. Obama as a challenger to Mrs. Clinton indicates the urgency for Republicans to establish their appeal to black voters.

"If [Republicans] start to talk now about the Democratic Party's racist past, then they'll help prepare themselves for dealing with the possibility of running against a black candidate and being able to frame some of their criticism of him, that they undoubtedly will have, in terms that will not be viewed as potentially racist," he said. "It's going to be a difficult balancing act."
Indeed it will be, if it comes to that.

Of course, the GOP won't have just the Democrat machine to fight this battle against.

You can be sure the overwhelming majority of the media will be whipping out the race card every chance they get while conveniently ignoring the dark past and often odious current history of the Democrats. Instead of running to a racial arsonist like Al Sharpton every time there's a racial controversy, how about seeking out a fresh voice like Michael Steele or a genuine national treasure like Thomas Sowell, a man who knows what real racism is all about?

Senator Robert "Sheets" Byrd (D-WV) was unavailable for comment.

Pantsuit and the Racist

If you had any doubt the Democrats are beholden to the racist Al Sharpton, this should put those doubts to rest. Looks like love to me.
Appearing with the Rev. Al Sharpton, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton made an impassioned plea yesterday to become the first woman president as she urged women to wage a campaign against media outlets that denigrate them.

"I am proud to be a woman running for president. And I hope that by my winning, other young girls and women can think about how they keep going, what barriers they break through," Clinton said to rousing applause during a women's luncheon at the Sheraton New York Hotel sponsored by Sharpton's National Action Network.

Clinton praised Rutgers University basketball coach Vivian Stringer and players for challenging radio shock jock Don Imus, who was fired after calling them "nappy-headed ho's."
It's so refreshing to get away from the minor stories like the Virginia Tech massacre and get back to the real issues, like Don Imus. Just one problem with Mrs. Clinton jumping on the Imus story after two weeks. The players have had enough.
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton finally dropped by Rutgers to meet with the school's women's basketball coach -- but the players themselves skipped the half-hour meeting, citing their studies and Imus fatigue.
Good for them. It appears they've had enough exploitation.

More from Six Meat Buffet.

Liberal Condescension Toward Minorities

Joe Biden, of course, is just the latest example. But as Mary Katherine Ham points out, liberals tend to assume minorities cannot achieve anything in this country without their help. When black Republicans achieve success on their own, they're viewed suspiciously.
Question. Why is it always liberals who seem so genuinely, overtly surprised when black candidates are viable candidates, and in their surprise, evoke old, damaging stereotypes about them? If you'll excuse a Bushism, I think it's because much of their political philosophy and existence depends upon misunderestimating minorities.

Minorities are getting lower grades than other students. Lower the standards! Minorities aren't getting into colleges at the same rates as other students. Give them special race-based admissions programs! Minorities need help. Give them expensive social programs of questionable efficacy!

The liberal solution to these problems has never been one that grants minorities the dignity of achieving success. In fact, it assumes they are incapable of achieving it without extensive help from liberal government programs. When you come from the school of pat-on-the-head public policy for minorities -- as Joe Biden does -- I guess maybe it is astonishing that a black man could be outstripping you in your run for president.
Read it all. Something else liberals ought to consider when Republicans disagree with blacks on matters political: It's about the issues, not their skin color. Is that so difficult for them to understand?

Bye Bye, Biden

The Loquacious Senator digs a hole he will likely never get out of. I have no beef with his derisively dismissing The Silky Pony, The Pantsuit, and Obama as serious presidential timber. Hey, I do it every day. But sometimes speaking candidly reveals an inner self you just may not want the public to see.
Mr. Biden is equally skeptical--albeit in a slightly more backhanded way--about Mr. Obama. "I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy," he said. "I mean, that's a storybook, man."

I doubt Biden would care to elaborate on who he thinks are the dirty, inarticulate, ugly African-Americans he contrasts with Obama.

My question is, how quickly will the antique media bury this story? They can't possibly have one of their boys looking like a closet Klansman now, can they? They've already got a problem with and old Klansman, but I won't mention Senator Byrd.

Michelle has a couple of questions.
Question A: Who will press Joe Biden to name the names of the inarticulate and dim and dirty and unattractive African-Americans he was thinking about when he, um, complimented Barack Obama?

Question B: Will the Washington Post give this coverage equal to its Macacaphony over George Allen's racial blundering?

I'll give them a crack: A--Nobody, except maybe someone from FNC. B--Hell no.

Allahpundit thinks it's the shortest campaign in history. He has a point. Many other links over there.
