Petulant Man-Child Storms Out of Debt Meetings

Gee, it sounds as if Lil' Bammy isn't getting his way. First we learn he's too delicate to take questions and now, like a spoiled baby, he storms out of meetings.

President Barack Obama abruptly left today's negotiating session to raise the debt ceiling and lower the deficit, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor told reporters after the meeting.

Cantor said Obama walked-out "angrily" after he offered to support two separate debt ceiling votes — a proposal Obama had repeatedly said he would veto.

According to Cantor, all progress in the debt talks has been erased.

Probably had a party to get to.

Gee, I though he was the adult in the room?

Transparency! White House Shuts Out Boston Herald Writer

The most open and transparent White House ever! Well, except for those reporters who don't march in lockstep.

The White House Press Office has refused to give the Boston Herald full access to President Obama’s Boston fund-raiser today, in e-mails objecting to the newspaper’s front page placement of a Mitt Romney op-ed, saying pool reporters are chosen based on whether they cover the news “fairly.”

“I tend to consider the degree to which papers have demonstrated to covering the White House regularly and fairly in determining local pool reporters,” White House spokesman Matt Lehrich wrote in response to a Herald request for full access to the presidential visit.

So whatever they deem fair is how access is determined. Thanks for the heads up. Those of you covering the White House now know what it takes to get your job done. Bow and scrape before this administration.

“My point about the op-ed was not that you ran it but that it was the full front page, which excluded any coverage of the visit of a sitting US President to Boston. I think that raises a fair question about whether the paper is unbiased in its coverage of the President’s visits,” Lehrich wrote.

But Lehrich said the Herald wasn’t purposefully barred from the press pool, saying local pool duty by the Boston Globe was arranged earlier with the White House Correspondents Association. And Lehrich insisted the Herald may yet be allowed into Obama events.

“As we have in the past — including the multiple occasions on which the Herald has supplied local pool reporters — we will continue to consider the Herald for local pool duty for future visits,” Lehrich wrote.

Gee, that's very nice of them. Determining news, opinion and ad placement is now a function of the executive branch, apparently.

Glenn Reynolds, a University of Tennessee law professor who has followed White House-press relations at right-leaning Instapundit.com, said a pattern appears to be developing.

“It’s all about control,” Reynolds said. “At some point this will blow back on them. Most presidents behave in a more refined fashion. Experience has shown that acting presidential is good politics and to their advantage.”

Kook Leftists Want to Secede From Arizona

Whenever we read about some nascent movement from a state about seceding from the United States, it's typically met with derision and howls of laughter. Yet now here we have a case of some whiny liberals unhappy with being in the minority in Arizona and who actually want to secede from the state. At what point will the left grow up and accept the results of elections? If Arizona is so bad, why don't they just move?

On the patio of a downtown bar here last Wednesday night, a handful of people gathered over pitchers of beer to plot the creation of America's 51st state.

With copies of the Arizona constitution before them, they debated how to turn Pima County—a liberal southern swatch of Arizona that borders Mexico and includes Tucson—into "Baja Arizona."

"What's the objective?" one member asked the group, Start Our State.

"Becoming our own state and making our own decisions," said organizer Paul Eckerstrom.

Baja Arizona (the working title) will almost certainly remain a dream, but it suggests the growing chasm between the state's Republican leaders and its frustrated liberal minority.

Aww, poor babies are fwustwated. Waaah! Waaah!

Republicans say the separatists' effort is, at best, a publicity stunt. "It's their silly way of pushing back," said Lori Klein, a state senator and the nullification bill's chief sponsor. "It's Pima County. They fight us on immigration. They fight us on taxes."

"It's no secret that the Democrats took it on the chin this year," said Brian Miller, Pima County Republican Party Chairman. "So instead of regrouping and trying to convince people they are correct in their views, they want to secede." On the other hand, he noted, if Pima County does become its own state, "that would make me the state GOP chairman."

Jokes about the effort, and the liberal history of the region, abound. "The official state license plate would read: Baja Arizona: Your Welfare Is Our Business," wrote Roger Yohem, a columnist for "Inside Tucson Business. "The official state gun would be the Hasbro Super-Soaker."

Ouch.

Obama's Sister Souljah Week: Or How the Angry Left Will Remain Useful Idiots

The Hill today notes how this week is shaping up as Obama's "Sister Souljah" week, as the beleaguered, petulant POTUS smacks down his core constituency in the midst of his latest meltdown.

President Obama’s liberal critics are furious, vocal and useful to a White House trying to solve the riddle of reelection.

White House officials who last year viewed the “professional left” as an annoying bunch of ungrateful idealists living in a fantasy world now see Washington’s angry liberal class as a key but unwilling or unknowing ally in the 2012 race.

In other words, these useful idiots can stomp their feet and piss and moan as much as they'd like, but let's face it, where are they going? A third party? Ha! Good luck with that. They'd only manage to lay a red carpet for a GOP coronation. A primary challenge? Again, go ahead and try. It'll only set the current Democrat Civil War into full-blown nuclear conflict. You think if Obama were ousted that the black vote will still blindly vote 95% Democrat?

Administration officials think the political and economic environment will be better for Obama and Democrats in 2012 than it was in 2010, but they know voters will still hate Washington.

Their answer is to spend the next two years running against everyone inside the Beltway, and that means both Democrats and Republicans.

The president’s tone when he announced the tax-cut deal was a public scolding of both parties, and the professional left got another lashing at Tuesday’s press conference.

Recalling the debate over the public health insurance option, Obama blasted them for choosing ideological purity over progressive results.

What this really is is a blaring billboard highlighting how immature the left is. Here they have the most far left president they could ever dream of having (after this mess, there'll never be someone so far left elected for generations) and in less than two years, when he's lurched further left than anyone ever imagine, he's still not "progressive" enough for these babies.

And it’s not just the professional left that is angry. Every Democrat in Washington who doesn’t work at the White House is mad. When, they ask, is Obama going to start fighting?

Well, the truth is Obama has started fighting. He’s just fighting everyone, including the left.

You know things are bad when the TOTUS starts turning on him. Supposedly though, there's a method to Obama's madness: Trying to make him look like a grown up. Good luck with that.

With all the children in the Washington circus screaming, Obama will look like the grown-up, officials believe.

In many ways, the next two years will feel like a dull and prolonged version of Bill Clinton’s Sister Souljah moment. The term was coined after Clinton publicly criticized the hip-hop author and activist over her comments about race.

Let's hope the angry left fades into obscurity as fast as Sister Souljah did.

'Why Are We Always Punting on 3rd Down?'

I think to make it easy on Barack Obama that Congressthing Anthony Weiner (D-ick) ought to phrase his questions using basketball terminology. Obama isn't quite up to speed on football and may become easily confused and think Weiner is talking about Canadian Football League rules.

Memo to our President: Why are we always punting on 3rd down? Lets get our offense on the field.

Poor little Weiner. Two years of the Democrats running roughshod are coming to a close and coming to grips with reality is difficult.

Rep. Anthony Weiner (N.Y.) had harsh words for President Obama on Twitter on Monday as the White House and leaders in Congress neared a deal to extend both the Bush tax cuts and expired federal jobless benefits.

"Memo to our President," Weiner tweeted, "Why are we always punting on 3rd down? Lets get our offense on the field."

This is the second time in recent weeks that Weiner, a liberal Democrat, has knocked Obama for his dealings with Republicans.

Following a White House meeting between the president and GOP leaders Dec. 30, Weiner criticized Obama for playing too nice.

"I think that President Obama sees bipartisanship as an ends rather than a means," he told the New York Observer.

"We have kind of now seen for the last couple of years the Republicans see rank partisanship as a successful tactic. I may want there to be such a thing as a unicorn, but it doesn't mean I build my day around finding one."

"I want the president to be a success," he said. "Many of the president's opponents, including those sitting around the table with him want him to be a failure and have said so. I want the president to stand up from that table."

Yes, we've certainly had way too much bipartisanship from Obama. Seriously, what world is Weiner living in?

Angry Left Freaking Out Over Obama: 'Boy, Their Political Instincts are Really Stupid'

Two weeks since the GOP's Congressional blowout and the angry left is still licking their wounds. From the sound of things they're ready to abandon world traveler Obama because he--get this--compromises too much with Republicans. Yes, the guy who for two years ignored the GOP is compromising too much with them.

Liberals furious with a White House they view as constantly telegraphing compromise with Republicans are pressuring President Obama to get tougher, arguing that is the only way he will win both progressives and independents in 2012.

Adam Green, co-founder of the Progressive Change Campaign Committee (PCCC) and an outspoken critic of the White House, said liberal anger has less to do with fears of a Clintonian move to the middle by Obama and more with a misreading of the election results by the administration.

“It’s less ‘Oh no, they’re triangulating,’ and more ‘Boy, their political instincts are really stupid,’ ” said Green, who along with other liberals has blasted the White House for suggesting it would compromise with Republicans on expiring tax cuts.

The White House “fundamentally” doesn’t get that “the only way to get Republicans to deal in good faith is to fight them, crush them and teach a lesson that if Republicans are on the wrong side of an issue there will be consequences ... so it makes sense to negotiate,” Green said.

Yeah, there'll be consequences alright, like the loss of even more seats and the Senate in 2012. How's that whole "crush them" thing working out, fellas?

“Right now, every time Republicans are on the opposite side of an issue from the public, it’s the Democrats who cave and talk about ‘compromise.’ It’s ridiculous.”

While those babies were busy with their temper tantrum, defeated Democrats were busy crying on the House floor.

Freshman Rep. Debbie Halvorson (D-Ill.), who lost her reelection bid, wiped away tears as she hugged fellow members of the class of 2008, many of whom lost on Nov. 2.

Less than three feet away, ousted Nevada freshman Rep. Dina Titus (D) appeared to brush away some tears in a less obvious manner.

Their tears taste delicious.

You've got to be kidding me.

A firm handshake is usually seen as a good thing in business and even in politics.

Not so much in South Florida. A candidate for the Broward County School Board wants the cops to lock up her opponent after what she claims was akin to battery after a recent debate.

Jaemi Levine filed a complaint with the Broward Sheriff's Office claiming David Thomas squeezed her hand so hard during a post-debate handshake Tuesday that it now hurts.

Instead of getting a grip on education issues, Thomas decided to get a grip on his opponent for the Disctrict 4 seat.

Levine alleges Thomas was upset that she outclassed him during the debate in Tamarac, which led to the Kung Fu-grip handshake and a few mumbled harsh words to get his point across.

"Don't ever question my integrity again," Thomas allegedly told Levine as he delivered the crunching handshake.

Thomas, a social science teacher at J.P. Taravella High School and a retired U.S. Navy Lt. Commander, told the Sun-Sentinel the story is non-sense and he didn't purposely injure Levine.

The story doesn't mention her party affiliation, but you just know no self-respecting Republicans would whine like this.

Sure enough, she's identified here as a Democrat. She's apparently too lazy to even answer questions for this voter guide. A commenter at the original story link notes Levine pals around with the odious Debbie Wasserman-Schulz. Figures.

Angry Teabaggers Heckle Obama: 'Obama Broken Promises KILL'

Tea Partiers really have to get control of their activists. We must return to civility and stop with this angry, raucous behavior. What sort of example does this set to the rest of the public?

Oh, wait, it was core Democrat constituents booing him.

Never mind.

President Barack Obama got heckled at a fundraiser Wednesday night by protesters pushing for more funding for AIDS programs and quicker action to allow gays to serve openly in the military.

Activists yelled slogans and held signs aloft reading "Obama broken promises KILL." Supporters of the president tried to drown them out with shouts of "O-bam-a! O-bam-a!"

The hecklers were so raucous Obama went off-script several times to address them, insisting he's increased AIDS funding and is working to overturn the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy. He told them to go shout at Republicans, noting that a vote on repealing "don't ask, don't tell" failed this week in the Senate, with Republicans united in opposition.

"Some of those signs should be going up at the other folks' events, and folks should be hollering at the other folks' event. Because the choice in November could not be clearer," the president said.

How pathetic. The man just refuses to accept responsibility for anything. Oooh, ooh, don't yell at me, yell at them!

Addressing an activist pushing for more funding for global AIDS initiatives, the president said, "We heard your point. And as I said before, we increased AIDS funding. ... The people who will take over if we don't focus on the election, I promise you, will cut AIDS funding."

Really? Can he point to a single vow from a single Republican who said they'd cut AIDS funding?

Obama Whines About Evil GOP Blocking More Reckless Spending

The guy has bankrupted us in 18 months, spending trillions with zero accountability, yet when he wants an additional $30 billion to give away and the GOP doesn't play along he pisses and moans like a little baby.

President Barack Obama is going after Senate Republicans who have stymied his proposal to create a $30 billion fund to help unfreeze lending for credit-starved small businesses.

His election-year push for additional job measures suffered a fresh setback this past week when the GOP blocked the small-business plan.

The president used his weekly radio and Internet address Saturday to accuse Republicans of "holding America's small businesses hostage to politics." He said the bill has the support of business groups and contains many ideas favored by both parties.

"Understand, a majority of senators support the plan. It's just that the Republican leaders in the Senate won't even allow it to come up for a vote," Obama said. "That isn't right."

Obama made clear that it's not only a policy disagreement, but a reason for voters to steer away from Republicans in November's pivotal congressional elections, which will determine whether Democrats keep their majorities in the House and Senate.

"When America is just starting to move forward again, we can't afford the do-nothing policies and partisan maneuvering that will only take us backward," he said.

Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky would have none of that talk.

He said Democrats have put the bill aside six separate times so they could move on to something else. "So from the beginning this bill clearly wasn't a priority to them — until they realized that they didn't have anything to talk about when they go home in August," McConnell said.

"Nearly every major piece of legislation this Congress has considered has had painful consequences for small businesses. Attempting to create a controversy isnt going to hide that from anyone," he said.

Pathetic: Moaner-in-Chief Uses Commencement to Whine About Blogs and Talk Radio

Way to inspire the graduates. Piss and moan about your critics. This guy is the biggest baby to ever occupy the White House.

US President Barack Obama lamented Sunday that in the iPad and Xbox era, information had become a diversion that was imposing new strains on democracy, in his latest critique of modern media.

Obama, who often chides journalists and cable news outlets for obsessing with political horse race coverage rather than serious issues, told a class of graduating university students that education was the key to progress.

"You're coming of age in a 24/7 media environment that bombards us with all kinds of content and exposes us to all kinds of arguments, some of which don't always rank all that high on the truth meter," Obama said at Hampton University, Virginia.

"With iPods and iPads and Xboxes and PlayStations, -- none of which I know how to work -- information becomes a distraction, a diversion, a form of entertainment, rather than a tool of empowerment, rather than the means of emancipation," Obama said.

He bemoaned the fact that "some of the craziest claims can quickly claim traction," in the clamor of certain blogs and talk radio outlets.

"All of this is not only putting new pressures on you, it is putting new pressures on our country and on our democracy."

So according to the community organizer, freedom of opinion and diversity of thought is a threat to democracy.

Ironically, last week he urged graduates to read the Huffington Post, as if they don't ever have crazy claims or rank that high on the truth meter.

Obama and his media lackeys control probably 98% of the "news" we get but that's just not enough. Without 100% control of the "information" we get this whiny pissant just cannot be happy.

Pathetic: Obama Uses Commencement Address to Whine About Critics

Way to fire up the graudates, Bammy. Spend your time moaning about critics and telling the young skulls full of mush to read the Huffington Post.

Obama told both sides in the political debate to tone it down. "Phrases like 'socialist' and 'Soviet-style takeover,' 'fascist' and 'right-wing nut' may grab headlines," he said. But such language "closes the door to the possibility of compromise."

That kind of passion isn't new, he acknowledged. Politics in America, he said, "has never been for the thin-skinned or the faint of heart. ... If you enter the arena, you should expect to get roughed up."

Obama hoped the graduates hearing his words can avoid cynicism and brush off the overheated noise of politics. In fact, he said, they should seek out opposing views.

His advice: If you're a regular Glenn Beck listener, then check out the Huffington Post sometimes. If you read The New York Times editorial page the morning, then glance every now and then at The Wall Street Journal.

"It may make your blood boil. Your mind may not often be changed. But the practice of listening to opposing views is essential for effective citizenship," he said.

Maybe he ought to tell the folks on his side to cool it with the Nazi psychobabble we've been hearing all week. FOr a guy who refuses to listen to Republicans his advice is more than abit hypocritical.

I got an email today from a group working on a CNN program airing Saturday and rebroadcast Sunday and didn't give it much thought until I noticed some whining over it tonight. From the mail:

The fiscal experts who have repeatedly said Social Security is sound and broader health care reform will protect Medicare.

All of you who voted for an active government to invest in our future.

While you are kept silent, who does CNN give the microphone to?

A multimillionaire Wall Street mogul who wants our government to slash investments while millions are losing their jobs. This guy had no problem taking tax cuts for the wealthy that caused our deficit problems – and his Wall St buddies crashed the economy.

We are in the midst of a great debate over the direction America should take.

"The most trusted name in news" should be the place where we have the debate, not where one opinion is deemed to be absolute truth.

We already have a cable news network that does that. We don't need another unfair, unbalanced channel

Good grief, people, get a grip. A couple hours of programming on a Saturday afternoon in the spring isn't likely to get many viewers to begin with. But these loons flip out because of one guy in the program while overlooking the fact you have a former Democrat presidential contender along with a slew of CNN personalities. And they make the fantastic leap of saying CNN is becoming a clone of Fox News? How childish.

These people won't be content until they control 100% of the programming on every television channel. There's no room for differing opinions, only rigid thought, one-way programming and conformity. They claim we're "the midst of a great debate" yet want to silence people in the debate.

Here's a suggestion for these twits: Don't watch.

The Time for Whining is Over

Eleven days ago this sniveling brat snidely told John McCain the campaign was over. So what's he doing today? Why, campaigning for his massive healthcare boondoggle in front of a handpicked audience.

He's becoming more shrill by the minute.

The public is "not worried about the next election. We just had an election," he said to cheers. "They're worried about the next pay check or the next tuition payment that's due. They're thinking about retirement."

Actually, the next election is closer than the last election, and trust me, we're focused on it.

Jim Geraghty suggest the time for Obama's talk is over. I couldn't agree more. If anything, time to retire his favorite line has passed.

"It's time to make a decision. The time for talk is over."

Hey, Look Who Took Money From Evil Insurance Companies

Remember this meltdown from Anthony Weiner last week? He was so cute railing against the evil insurance companies and making the absurd claim he never met a Republican who wasn't wholly owned by the big, bad insurance companies.

Well, look what we've got here. It turns out Weiner himself has taken insurance company money. Seems I've never met a sniveling Democrat who wasn't a total hypocrite.

But who owns Weiner?

The unions, for starters. Over the years, according to Federal Election Commission records, he's taken more than $631,000 from just about every Big Labor outfit imaginable.

Or the trial lawyers.

Well, they don't call themselves that anymore -- they're the American Association for Justice. And their political action committee has forked over $43,000 to keep Weiner in Congress.

Or groups like the AMA, the American Hospital Association and lobbying outfits for radiologists, cardiologists, podiatrists, surgeons, anesthesiologists, psychiatrists, pathologists -- even veterinarians. They've been good for $122,500.

Wall Street -- you know, those financial companies that Democrats love to bash -- has kicked in $92,750.

Then there's the home builders' lobby ($22,500), the auto dealers' lobby ($25,000), the Realtors' lobby ($41,000), casino companies ($20,500) and the beer wholesalers ($12,500).

As for the evil insurance industry, Weiner has glommed up at least $20,300 from such companies as John Hancock, Met Life, MONY, New York Life and Prudential, as well as from the American Council of Life Insurers.

Sort of makes you wonder why all these special interests think that Anthony Weiner is so . . . well, special.

I guess glomming money from Big Labor, Big Trial Lawyer, Big Medical, Big Beer, and Big Realty is fine with Weiner. Oh, and he also takes money from Big Insurance yet talks out the other said of his mouth and trashes the hand that feeds him.

Funny, but I don't recall seeing Weiner whining on the House floor about all his Democrat friends, including his mentor Chuckie Schumer, taking all that money from Big Bernie Madoff.

Facts are terrible things, aren't they?

Democrats Booed Bush at 2005 State of the Union

For all the Democrats wetting themselves over Joe Wilson calling Obama a liar last night, here's a little refresher for you. We know the delicate Obama and the rest of the left are apoplectic over this and frankly, Wilson would have been better off staying mum, but for the angry left to lecture anyone about civility is just a bit much.

The bottom line is Obama indeed was lying. Those wee-weeing might want to check the facts before flipping out. Or, as noted political columnist Mike Lupica says, they should just shut up.
