Would-be Bush Assassins Jailed

This will no doubt be met with great sorrow in the fever swamps at the HuffPost and Daily Kos.
Three Jordanian militants were today found guilty of plotting to assassinate US President George Bush and sentenced to 15 years' imprisonment by a Jordanian military court.

The verdict came ahead of the American president's arrival in neighbouring Israel on the first stop of a regional tour.

The court heard how Nidhal Musleh al-Momani, Sattam al-Zawahrah and Tharwat Daraj were arrested the day before Bush landed in the Jordanian capital, Amman, on a visit to the Kingdom in November 2006.

According to the prosecution, the three were found with machine guns and large plastic bottles filled with gasoline meant to be used for bombs, and had planned to attack the American and Danish embassies in Amman.
Meanwhile, since Bush is now over in the Middle East, let's hope all security services are on high alert, especially after this warning that has flown very much under the radar.
