A COMPUTER has been stolen from the office of a British cabinet minister in a break-in in the second serious security breach involving a senior government official in a week.Considering the recent incompetence, I guess this could at least be blamed on a thief, though I suspect they knew what they were looking for.
Britain's BBC television said the computer contained 'restricted' government documents, including some on defence and extremism, but no information believed to be top secret.
"There was a break-in at the constituency office of Hazel Blears on the afternoon of Saturday, June 14. Hazel was not there at the time," a government spokesman said.
"The thief broke in through a window, triggering the building's security alarm. A PC (personal computer) was stolen. Nothing else was taken. We understand the building's security staff arrived within minutes."
This is hardly the worst news today for the Brits, however, as they now releasing Osama bin Laden's right hand man.
Seriously (H/T LGF).
Radical cleric Abu Qatada, described as "Osama bin Laden's right hand man in Europe," is to be released in the next 24 hours.
Qatada, who is accused of giving advice and support to terrorists including the leader of the September 11 hijackers, has been described in official documents as a "truly dangerous individual" who was "heavily involved, indeed at the centre of terrorist activities associated with al-Qa'eda."
