'Clinton, Osama Meet to Discuss Unity'

Heh. That was the actual headline that ran in the Detroit News.

Oops.
The editor and publisher of The Detroit News has apologised for a headline error in early morning editions about Barack Obama in which the Democratic presidential nominee-in-waiting was called Osama.

Jonathan Wolman said the headline incorrectly read "Clinton, Osama meet to discuss unity" and appeared on page 17A of about 45,000 newspapers.

Mr Wolman said the error was made during a spell-check search and was caught and corrected about 20 minutes after the newspaper began publishing.

He said his apology was "graciously" accepted by Mr Obama's campaign. Obama spokeswoman Amy Brundage said the campaign had accepted the apology.
