Program Notes From Lighthouse On The Right

In an act of shameless self promotion, but mostly because during today's show so much of what I talked about also links to various other websites for information I have included the program notes for today's show over here for folks to reference, or ignore, depending on their taste.

Having now taken the plunge into the Blog Talk Radio universe, and finding a really decent bunch of people whom have varying views and opinions, but always present a place for which conversations with other people across the country and all walks of life can take place in a friendly and constructive way, I am hooked.

So while I am trying my hand at this new medium--after all life is all about exploring new things and possibilities--as well as challenging oneself to try things, I wish to express to all the people who have been so supportive. For those who have not explored BTR. I encourage you to check out some of the shows. They are talk shows hosted by real people which allow interaction and it is fun and, in my case, highly addictive.

So without further ado, here are my show notes from today with the links to the items I talked about today.

23 year old Nashat Akram is a midfield player for the Iraqi national soccer team. In recent years the team has been very successful: earning a 4th place spot at the 2004 Athens Olympics; a silver medal at the 2006 Asia Games in Doha and winning the 2007 Asia Cup.

They’re currently on-course to qualify for this year’s Beijing Olympics after Akram scored the winning goal in a match against China – knocking the Olympic hosts out of their own competition. Earlier this year he signed with English side Manchester City, but couldn’t take the job due to problems with his work permit.

Military conflicts don't end on their own, and they don't end because of politicians, insiders and parties. They are forced to end by power-challenging mass movements.
