Indonesian authorities could be waiting for Prince Charles to leave the country before proceeding with the execution of the Bali bombers, reports say.

The bombers looked to have survived another night on death row without facing execution, by firing squad, after an Indonesian judge said yesterday that judicial appeals by the bombers would not delay their executions.

However the ABC reported there was speculation the executions were being held up until Prince Charles left Indonesia tomorrow.

Authorities might also be hoping that coverage of the US presidential election would take the focus off the executions, it said.

Naturally, the longer this is delayed, the more time there is for the fanatics to peddle their crackpot conspiracies.
