The Central Islip man charged with secretly filming women and young girls in a changing room during photo shoots at his home faces more charges after an investigation revealed 20 more victims, police said Thursday. You think?
Robert Infantino, a photographer and frequent performer at schools who billed himself as " Long Island's Favorite Magician," was arrested again Wednesday following a three-month probe, Suffolk police said.
Following his arrest in August, Infantino pleaded not guilty to two counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child, 12 counts of unlawful surveillance and 64 counts of possessing child pornography. At the time, there were three known victims, police said.
An indictment unsealed in September in Riverhead revealed three more victims, authorities said.
The Suffolk police Special Victims and Computer Crimes Section and the Child Abuse and Domestic Violence Bureau of the Suffolk County district attorney's office identified more victims, and the case was presented to a grand jury, which handed down a 33-count indictment against Infantino, authorities said.
Infantino, 50, surrendered at the Seventh Precinct Wednesday. He was charged with promoting a sexual performance by a child and 32 counts of unlawful surveillance second degree. He is scheduled for arraignment Thursday in Riverhead.
Following Infantino's initial arrest, prosecutors said investigators also found a substantial cache of child pornography on Infantino's computer.
"One of the reasons we're concerned here is we're dealing with someone who's been a magician for the last 24 years," Assistant District Attorney John Cortes said at the time. "There may be other victims out there."
