I guess all that golf wore the poor guy out. Back for two days in DC, Obama apparently got a good look at his plunging poll numbers and figured it was time to head for the hills.
President Barack Obama and his family are trying again for a little rest and relaxation. His AP stenographer blames his orchestrating a five-minute announcement re-appointing Ben Bernanke as interrupting his vacation. It's not as if that announcement couldn't have waited. They wanted to make it look as if he was still tending to business in between hitting quadruple bogeys.
The president is heading out to the presidential retreat at Camp David on Wednesday morning. The five-day stay in Maryland's Catoctin Mountains gives the first family a head start on the Labor Day weekend.
Now the guy is back for 48 hours and he has to leave on Wednesday morning for Labor Day?
