I want to go on the record as saying I am no fan of the University of Georgia Bulldogs; however, this is a nice story, and shows just how much the things we take for granted can mean so much to service members who are deployed. It is a nice touch also on the part of the UGA football team to wear the patch of the 48th Infantry on their helmets.
I'm hoping these soldiers had to do this as the result of losing a bet. Being in Afghanistan is hard enough without having to embarrass yourself by holding up a UGA banner.
For the record, I am a Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets fan, or as they are known around here, the guys who sign the front of the paycheck. They won their first game Saturday and play tonight against Clemson.
