Another Bribe? 'Unprecedented $4.35 Billion' in Education Funds Now Available to Certain States

The Obama administration wouldn't ever think to dangle money in front of some states that just could happen to have some lawmakers in position to sway the healthcare vote, could they?

I mean, sleazy stuff like that is beneath them, right?

Well, let's just say the timing of this is slightly suspicious.
New York was named one of 16 finalists for a pot of federal education aid that could net the cash-starved state as much as $700 million, the U.S. Education Department announced today.

The news came as a surprise to many officials, educators and advocates in New York, who had seen the state's failure to raise the cap on charter schools or to make significant strides on allowing teachers to be evaluated based on their students' test scores as two strikes against its application.

Federal officials have set two rounds of applications for an unprecedented $4.35 billion competition that encouraged states to reform their educational strategies. Fourty-one states applied in Round 1.
So this came as a surprise just a day after Obama says he would do anything to ram his healthcare scam down our throats.

The WaPo also says this is unprecedented. If the media ever reportes a story about Obama without using unprecedented, that would set a new precedent.
