The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows that 30% of the nation's voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Thirty-eight percent (38%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of –8. The President’s Approval Index rating has fallen six points since release of a disappointing jobs report last week.

Thirty-nine percent (39%) now give the President good or excellent marks for handling the economy while 43% say he is doing a poor job.

Just imagine how low his numbers would be if it weren't for the fawning state-run media.

Meanwhile, the supposedly dead GOP is having some success recruiting candidates for 2010.

It's starting to feel like 1993 all over again, the same year a Republican win in New Jersey foreshadowed huge GOP sweeps in 1994.

Obama Discovers Himself

I guess it's safe to make jokes about Obama's ears now.

Serving as Mr. Obama’s guide in Giza was Dr. Zahi Hawass, Secretary-General of Egypt’s Supreme Council of Antiquities. He led the way in and around the pyramids and the Sphinx, including a visit to the Tomb of Qar, who Hawass described as a well-known priest, scholar and judge in ancient Egypt. On the wall were hieroglyphs of Qar, primitive images engraved in the stone. He was a thin man man with big ears.

“That looks like me!” exclaimed President Obama. “Look at those ears.”

The president summoned to his top aides to take a look, and repeated his observation about the Qar hieroglyph.

“Look, that’s me,” he told them. None of his senior staff was willing to disagree with the boss. Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel smiled politely, if not knowingly.

Actually, the graven image bore more of a resemblance to Mr. Spock of “Star Trek” fame. Wasn’t there an episode where the crew of the Enterprise went back in time to the Egypt of the Pharoahs? If there wasn’t, there should have been. That might have explained a hieroglyph of Spock on the wall of an ancient tomb. Maybe President Obama went back in time. That’d be a good scenario for a pitch meeting in Hollywood.

I wish he would go back in time.

And stayed there.

Iranians Scoff at Obama Speech

All the soaring rhetoric and stirring oratory from Barack Obama isn't enough to persuade the psychotic mullahs of Iran to join hands with the world and sing Kumbaya.

Iran's supreme leader said on Thursday the United States was deeply hated in the Middle East and told U.S. President Barack Obama that "beautiful" speeches alone would not improve its image in the Muslim world.

Speaking on the same day Obama was due to give a major speech to the Islamic world in Cairo, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said the hatred felt towards America could not be changed with "slogans" but that different U.S. action was needed.

In a break from the policies of his predecessor George W. Bush, Obama is offering improved ties with the Islamic Republic if it "unclenches its fist." Iranian leaders say they want to see a real shift in the policies of their old foe.

"The nations of this part of the world ... deeply hate America because during many years they have seen violence, military interference, rights violations, discrimination ... from America," Khamenei said in a televised speech.

"Even if they give sweet and beautiful talks to the Muslim nation ... that will not create a change," said Khamenei, Iran's most powerful figure with the final say on all matters of state. "Nothing will change with speeches and slogans."

But hey, the media will fawn and slobber and tell us how great a speech it was, and isn't that all that matters?

Obama Finally Notices Murder of Private Long

Maybe if Private William Long performed partial-birth abortions his killing would have caught the attention of Barack Hussein Obama a little quicker.

But since he was an Army soldier murdered by a Muslim jihadist, it wasn't worth mentioning for over two days, and until after Obama left the country.

Nothing like performing your Commander-in-Chief duties respectfully.

Meanwhile, in a statement released by the White House Wednesday, President Obama said, “I am deeply saddened by this senseless act of violence against two brave young soldiers who were doing their part to strengthen our armed forces and keep our country safe. I would like to wish Quinton Ezeagwula a speedy recovery, and to offer my condolences and prayers to William Long’s family as they mourn the loss of their son.”

Deeply saddened, huh? So much you ignored this murder for over 48 hours.

Obama Warmly Greets Comrade Chavez

They seem like old pals. Later they sat around a campfire and reminisced about Che Guevara.

President Obama shook hands with Venezuela's Hugo Chavez on Friday at the opening of the Summit of the Americas being held this weekend in Trinidad and Tobago.

It wasn't immediately clear Friday evening what words were exchanged between the two leaders, but photos released by the Venezuelan government show Obama clasping Chavez's hand and smiling broadly.

Earlier Friday, Dan Restrepo, the president's top Western Hemisphere adviser on the National Security Council, had told FOX News Obama might cross paths with Chavez.

"A chance encounter if it occurs," Restrepo said, in describing such a meeting. "Let's put the animosities behind us. Let's not have old arguments.

"Let's not have tired ideological arguments. Let's get down to figuring out how we can advance things that are in our national interest. Things that matter to the United States that should matter to Venezuela. Putting the arguments and ideologies of the past aside and working on pragmatic solutions to real problems that face our countries today," he said.

Why have any ideological arguments when you're basically on the same page?

Meanwhile, as Obama shares a bro-shake with the thug Chavez, opposition leaders in Venezuela are in hiding and being jailed.

The mayor of Venezuela's second largest city is missing, apparently the latest casualty of a crackdown on opposition by President Hugo Chavez that observers are calling outright persecution.

Manuel Rosales ran against Chavez for president in 2006 and lost, but last year he was elected mayor of the port city of Maracaibo, home to over 3 million people.

After Chavez vowed on national TV to throw Rosales in jail, the government filed corruption charges against the 56-year-old mayor. Two weeks ago, Rosales dropped out of sight. Supporters say he is hiding — from an enemy who now has the power to crush all opposition.

The same power Comrade Obama desperately seeks.

President in Training Apologizes to Nancy Reagan

Really slick move insulting the ailing former First Lady while holding your first softball, Twinkie-munch session with the fawning press.

Sorry, but this weak apology isn't quite cutting it.

President-elect Barack Obama called Nancy Reagan this afternoon to apologize for a joke about her having heald [sic] "séances" in the White House, an Obama aide said.

“President-elect Barack Obama called Nancy Reagan today to apologize for the careless and off handed remark he made during today’s press conference," said transition spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter. "The President-elect expressed his admiration and affection for Mrs. Reagan that so many Americans share and they had a warm conversation."

Obama was asked at his press conference today if he'd spoken to all the "living" presidents.

"I have spoken to all of them who are living," he responded. "I didn’t want to get into a Nancy Reagan thing about doing any séances."

Warm admiration, my ass.

Ironic, isn't it, how he lamely invoked Ronald Reagan's name wherever he could during his campaign, then goes out of his way to throw a cheap shot at a woman who just broke her hip.

Meanwhile, the petty trainee avoided Fox News during this "press conference," giving his press secretary Nedra Pickler the first question.

This childish obsession over Fox News is really beneath the dignity of the White House. George W. Bush has been mercilessly pummelled by most of the media during his term but has never acted so petulantly about any media outlets.

Obama needs to grow up before he actually assumes office. If he's going to whine and snivel like a little bitch about Fox, then he just doesn't have the chops to be a credible leader.

Joe the Biden claimed Obama has a spine of steel. He might want to try demonstrating that.

So somebody calls Barack Obama a terrorist and the media meltdown is now under way.

Funny, but I don't recall anyone in the media complaining the past eight years when George Bush was called every name in the book, accused of masterminding 9/11 and being compared with Hitler.

But no, someone calls Obama a terrorist and we have stories about lynch mobs at McCain rallies.

What. A. Joke.

In case you've been under a rock since 2001, here's just a small sampling of how Bush has been portrayed. You just know even the slightest portrayal of Saint Obama this way will send the media into fits of apoplexy.

We see this crap every September 11. You remember the media complaining about this? Neither do I.

This is a popular one on the web. Have you seen any media outlets decrying this? Neither have I.

Human garbage like this is ubiquitous at every lefty protest. Ever see any indignant media reaction to this? Neither have I.

The always popular Bush as Hitler. Has Dana Milbank ever complained about this? You know the answer.

We know who you are and who your friends are.
Barack Obama, why don't you just go home?

Barack, your visit here is just a waste of time; you're not wanted or needed here. We'll do just fine without you and you'll probably do better with out us, too. Don't come around here making as if you're looking out for the good of Israel. We know who you are and who your friends are.

Zigzagging back and forth about dividing or un-dividing Jerusalem won't clear your history.

I'm not talking about your middle name. Any good Christian might have the middle name Hussein (although I can't think of any others). We won't hold that against you. There are worse things than having an Arab name; like for instance being supported by a known Jew-hater, bigot Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam, who among other statements has accused the Jews of bringing on the Holocaust through cooperation with Hitler - "They helped him get the Third Reich on the road." But, of course, it would be wrong to hold that against you, because you haven't been rallying for his support (recently).

We can't really blame you for the beliefs of Father Michael Pfleger, who embraces Black Liberation Theology, which claims that Jesus was Black - so the Jews have no claim to Israel and, therefore, the Muslims are the rightful heirs of the Holy Land. Those beliefs have nothing to do with you, aside from the fact that you have coined the man your "moral compass." But one must admit that Pfleger is not your only mentor and also is not alone in looking up to Farrakhan.

Your spiritual mentor is Reverend Jeremiah Wright, who has praised Jimmy Carter for denouncing Zionism. Last year, the Trumpet Newsmagazine of Chicago's Trinity United Church of Christ gave the Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. Trumpeter Award to Louis Farrakhan and said that he is a man who "truly epitomized greatness." You are a member of that Church and Jeremiah Wright is its leader and your spiritual adviser.

Now you won't go so far as to criticize Jimmy Carter, not even for meeting with the heads of Hamas, because, to paraphrase your words, "It's not your place to criticize him." That is, not until the next day, when you were seeking the support of Jewish leaders. Then you must have found a new place for criticism. Aren't the Jews great for giving a guy a new vision and a sense of self-confidence? Is that what you meant by, "It's time for change"?

Barack Hussein, we won't hold it against you. But can you tell us what you mean by supporting a Palestinian State along side Israel? Do you mean a replay of the ethnic cleansing of Jews from Gaza three years ago? Do you foresee soldiers carrying men, women and children away from their homes, which are to be demolished by bulldozers? Palestinian rule brought on the endless rocket fire on Sderot and the thousands of Jewish refugees who have yet to find permanent homes or means of a steady income. Is that your vision of a new hope that Farakkhan's Final Call website praises you for?

Barack Hussein, why don't you just go home? Your visit to Israel this week is not because you're looking out for the wellbeing of Israel and the Jewish people. You're coming to Israel looking for the Jewish vote; your goal is to speak with the Jewish American voters through the press coverage of this tour to the holy land. You want them to think that you took the time off from your busy campaign to further peace in the Middle East. Your hope is that enough stupid Jews will misread the message and take it as an act of support for Israel.

Don't use us or our land as a photo-op to transmit a twisted call for support to Jewish-American voters. You don't fool us. We know who you and your friends are.

Barack Hussein, why don't you just go home? But on the way out, remember the words you heard here from the proud Jewish settlers in Judea and Samaria: "This is our land!" We are back after two thousand years of forced exile and we are not about to leave it again.

'Who is Mr Obama?'

Obviously they're brighter than the slavish media sycophants gushing and slobbering over Glowbama.

If only the media had an inkling most Americans are turned off as well.

Barack Obama's visit to the green zone in Baghdad far eclipsed a similar trip by Gordon Brown two days earlier in terms of the media frenzy it generated.

Journalists camped for three hours outside the residence of Nouri al-Maliki, the Iraqi Prime Minister, hoping for a glimpse of the Democratic presidential hopeful as he paid a visit.

There was another scrum as Mr Obama departed, surrounded by half a dozen burly security guards and an entourage of aides.

The circus was repeated outside Jalal Talabani's presidential compound, which sits just outside the green zone but is also formidably guarded.

The contrast with the attitude of ordinary Iraqis could not have been greater. Most were oblivious that the Obama visit was even taking place.

“Who is Mr Obama?” asked Muhammad Saed, 29, who owns a small supermarket in Baghdad. “I stopped reading the news after the invasion because it only talks about car bombs and people being killed.”

Ahmed Chaseb, a 29-year-old traffic policeman in the Shia slum of Sadr City, had also never heard of the senator.

'We Are All Hussein'

Emily Nordling has never met a Muslim, at least not to her knowledge. But this spring, Ms. Nordling, a 19-year-old student from Fort Thomas, Ky., gave herself a new middle name on Facebook.com, mimicking her boyfriend and shocking her father.

“Emily Hussein Nordling,” her entry now reads.

With her decision, she joined a growing band of supporters of Senator Barack Obama, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, who are expressing solidarity with him by informally adopting his middle name.

The result is a group of unlikely-sounding Husseins: Jewish and Catholic, Hispanic and Asian and Italian-American, from Jaime Hussein Alvarez of Washington, D.C., to Kelly Hussein Crowley of Norman, Okla., to Sarah Beth Hussein Frumkin of Chicago.

Jeff Strabone of Brooklyn now signs credit card receipts with his newly assumed middle name, while Dan O’Maley of Washington, D.C., jiggered his e-mail account so his name would appear as “D. Hussein O’Maley.” Alex Enderle made the switch online along with several other Obama volunteers from Columbus, Ohio, and now friends greet him that way in person, too.

Mr. Obama is a Christian, not a Muslim. Hussein is a family name inherited from a Kenyan father he barely knew, who was born a Muslim and died an atheist. But the name has become a political liability. Some critics on cable television talk shows dwell on it, while others, on blogs or in e-mail messages, use it to falsely assert that Mr. Obama is a Muslim or, more fantastically, a terrorist.

“I am sick of Republicans pronouncing Barack Obama’s name like it was some sort of cuss word,” Mr. Strabone wrote in a manifesto titled “We Are All Hussein” that he posted on his own blog and on dailykos.com.

Next time the Obamatons whine about The Messiah being called by his middle name, they can be reminded of this silliness.
