Carville: Tea Party a 'Dangerous Political Force That Threatens the Very Future of Our Country'

Yesterday the Fundraiser-in-Chief claimed the GOP would cripple the country while he was busy raising money from millionaires and billionaires. Today we get our daily does of Democrat hysteria in an email via the absurd James Carville.
There’s something in their tea.

That’s the only explanation I can think of to explain the bizarre babblings of Tea Party Republicans.

And the rants of these global-warming-denying, Social-Security-cutting, clean-air-hating, job-cutting, Wall-Street-protecting tea party types would be funny if it weren’t for one thing:

Money. Lots of it.

Backed by millions of dollars raised by Karl Rove and the Koch brothers, what would pass for a cheap side show at a flea-bitten circus has become a dangerous political force that threatens the very future of our country.

That’s why I’m asking you to drop whatever you’re doing right now and support Democrats’ $1 Million Rapid Response Action Fund before the big FEC deadline hits.

Contribute $3 or more before Friday's critical FEC fundraising deadline hits and help Democrats stand up to the Tea Party Republicans and take back the House Majority in 2012. House Democrats will triple match your gift!

This FEC deadline is a huge milestone in the House Democrats' 2012 campaign plan. Hitting this $1 million goal is absolutely critical to their plans to take the fight to Tea Party Republicans and counter the massive funding provided by Rove and his billionaire buddies.

The amount of money Democrats raise will also be interpreted by the Washington media as an indication of the strength of grassroots Democrats and whether we can mount a serious campaign against Tea Party Republicans. We’ve got to have a strong showing.

Contribute $3 or more before Friday's critical FEC fundraising deadline and help Democrats stand up to the Tea Party Republicans and take back the House Majority in 2012.

Don’t leave this email without joining House Democrats in this fight.

Every dollar you give goes right back out the door to help take the fight right to Tea Party Republicans on their home turf with targeted advertising, grassroots organizing, and rapid response research.
These were the same hysterical emails we saw repeatedly leading up to the humiliating defeat in NY-9 a couple of weeks ago.

Funny, but I thought the Tea Party was dead as a political movement? The media tells us that all the time. So why are hysterical emails coming out from the DCCC every day still demonizing them in an effort to raise money?

Carville: Hey, Help Us Fight Those Crazy, Paranoid, Extreme, Wingnut, Fear-Mongering, Job-Destroying, Union-Busting Lunatics

I'm starting this think this whole New Age of Civility is over. We've been getting emails from the Democrat heavy hitters recently as they're trying to raise money off just about any cause under the sun. Of course instead of offering any meaningful platform of their own, it's the typical shrieking about how evil the Republicans are and how they're going to take away grandma's Social Security. But for sheer amusement, today they break out James Carville with this gem, which must set some sort of record for juvenile name-calling.
Jammie --

Back home, folks always say “the proof is in the pudding.”

And if you ever needed proof of just how crazy, paranoid and extreme the Republican Party has become, all you need to do is look at this past month.

Speaker Boehner says “so be it” to devastating job losses and Sarah Palin is on her Facebook hollering about school teachers in Wisconsin being “thugs.” But there’s one way we can stop their right-wing hollering in its tracks.

We’re just 2 days out from the first FEC quarterly deadline of the year, and you know the world will be watching to see which side is stronger and more united. We have got to show these Republican wingnuts that we won’t be bullied and won’t go down without a fight.

Jammie, help show our Democratic grassroots strength by chipping in before the critical FEC deadline. Give $3 or more today and your gift will be matched 2-to-1 by a group of generous Democrats.

The right-wing mob hopes to sneak through an extremist agenda to cut 700,000 American jobs, destroy unions, dismantle environmental protections, privatize Social Security and dismantle Medicare before voters even realize what’s happened. They’re so shameless that they’ve even proposed cutting assistance for homeless veterans.

If grassroots Democrats like you stay on the sidelines, they’re gonna say the fear-mongering, job-destroying, union-busting Republicans are winning this fight.

Help show our Democratic grassroots strength by chipping in before the critical FEC deadline. Give $3 or more today and your gift will be matched 2-to-1 by a group of House Democrats.

If we meet our goal, the nation will know we stand behind Democrats. If we fail to meet our goal, we will be accused of abandoning Democrats when they need us most. Time’s running out: Contribute right now >>

Many thanks,

James Carville

P.S. We must keep Speaker Boehner, Sarah Palin, Governor Walker and their lunatic followers from out-hustling us, but time is running out. Contribute Now.
They must not be receiving much since I've been getting emails like this almost daily. They really need to update their playbook. Carville's been babbling this same nonsense for 20 years now.

Carville: 'Political Stupidity is Unbelievable'

James Carville unloads on the incompetent boob in the White House who's more concerned with basketball than he is with the people living in the Gulf region.
The "political stupidity is unbelievable," Democratic strategist James Carville said on "Good Morning America" today. "The president doesn't get down here in the middle of this. ... I have no idea of why they didn't seize this thing. I have no idea of why their attitude was so hands off here."

On Thursday, Obama will announce new measures the federal government will take to try to prevent any future BP oil spills, administration officials said. And on Friday, the president will visit the Gulf coast, his second trip to the region since the environmental disaster happened last month.

But Carville said the Obama administration's response to the BP oil spill has been "lackadaisical," and that rather than place the blame on the previous administration, it should've done more to deal with BP and "inept bureaucrats," which would've in turn helped boost Obama's approval ratings.

"The president of the United States could've come down here, he could've been involved with the families of these 11 people" who died on the offshore rig, Carville said. "He could've demanded a plan in anticipation of this."
But he did none of that. He apparently doesn't care. In the weeks following Katrina George W. Bush visited at least seven times. Obama's been there once for a photo op.
"It just looks like he's not involved in this," an angry Carville said on "GMA." "Man, you got to get down here and take control of this, put somebody in charge of this thing and get this moving. We're about to die down here."

Carville added that the Obama administration needs to launch a federal investigation into the incident that has become a major environmental disaster and a headache for the federal government.
Karl Rove weighs in on Obama's Katrina.
Could this be Mr. Obama's Katrina? It could be even worse. The federal response to Katrina was governed by the 1988 Stafford Act, which says that in natural disasters on-shore states are in charge, not Washington. The federal obligation is to "support . . . State and local assistance efforts" by providing whatever resources a governor requests and then writing big checks for the cleanup. Mr. Bush had to deal with a Louisiana governor and a New Orleans mayor who were, by federal law, in charge.

But BP's well was drilled in federal waters. Washington, not Louisiana, is in charge. This is Mr. Obama's responsibility. He says his administration has been prepared for the worst from the start. Mr. Obama's failure to lead in cleaning up the spill could lead voters to echo his complaint in Katrina's aftermath: "I wish that the federal government had been up to the task."
Apparently, it's not.

It's time the people put their boot on the neck of this incompetent administration.

Disturbing Mental Image of the Day

I really hope I'm never near James Carville at an airport.
The debate over full body security scans just got a lot more graphic, thanks to Democratic political strategist and frequent flyer James Carville.

Speaking on The Tony Kornheiser Show Friday, Carville laid out, or unzipped, his vision for airport security.

But the consummate talker couldn't help sharing too much information.

"Let me buy a [security] card, then go and measure my penis, and let me get on the airplane," he said.

Fortunately for travelers, and, one suspects, for T.S.A. agents, the scanners are designed to measure things like radiation and explosive levels -- not private parts.

Grayson Continues His Class Act

I know, I know, it is bad form to do back-to-back posts on the same topic, but this idiot Alan Grayson is on an all-out media blitz and is apparently turning into the mainstream media's latest darling. Here is a video of him appearing on the Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer in which he and James Carville engage in a little mutual admiration lovefest. What is most comical(?) is that when a conservative guest starts listing various proposals the Republicans have tried to put forth in the health care debate he immediately begins to talk over the top of him, all the while claiming the Republicans have no ideas and are just engaging in partisan politics and attempting to block the legislation. In doing so, he proves just what the Republicans on Capitol Hill have been saying all along--mainly that the Dems won't listen to them and won't entertain any of their suggestions or ideas.

During the Carville/Grayson lovefest, Grayson blames the Republicans for the $4 a gallon gas prices we experienced last year, while conveniently forgetting that the Dems controlled Congress at that time, and it was his leader Nancy Pelosi who turned out the lights and shut off the mics and went on a five-week book tour instead of staying in session to address the issue and leaving the Republicans literally in the dark. Grayson even invokes a phrase credited to conservative writer William Safire, "nattering nabobs of negativism," to describe Republicans.

He also calls all Republicans foot-dragging, knuckle-dragging Neanderthals. Real class act. The double standard could not be more apparent, either. While he is not being held to account for his bomb-throwing rhetoric by his party, and in fact is being held up as some sort of liberal idol now, two words from Joe Wilson have been the most highly criticized and over-analyzed words spoken in the last decade.

This guy Grayson is a real piece of work, and I hope his first term in Congress is also his last. His appearance on the Situation Room is just about 10 1/2 minutes of him name calling and refusing to concede any points being made that are contrary to his view.

To recap, Republicans want you to die, Republicans are foot-dragging, knuckle-dragging Neanderthals, have no ideas on healthcare and are the embodiment of nattering nabobs of negativism. Got everything but the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy in there.

Oh yeah, he appeared on the Rachel Maddow show on MSNBC, and from what I hear, he repeated the Neanderthal remarks.

Almost forgot, make sure to stop by the Daily Kos site and read his little diary entry from today. He is on a real media blitz today.

Pathetic: Hillary Auctioning Off a Date With Bill

Really lame. Why don't these very wealthy multimillionaires just pay off their own debt? No, can't part with their own money. They need to resort to low-rent stunts like this.
Hillary Rodham Clinton fans can win a chance to hang out with Bill Clinton by giving $5 to her failed presidential campaign and helping the ex-first lady pay off her sizable election debt.

The winner will "head to New York City to attend several interesting events with President Clinton, followed by your own special New York City weekend," according to yesterday's e-mail to Hillary supporters.
Now don't worry, if you can't hook up with Slick, you can always settle for the booby prize.
Another prize is a trip to LA for the "American Idol" season finale. The booby prize? Lunch in DC with political consultant Paul Begala and Democratic strategist James Carville.
Dear God, imagine trying to keep lunch down having to look at those two. Ugh.

Larry King: 'Somebody's Got to Think for the Masses'

Here on this panel you have Penn Jillette and someone named Stephanie Miller, who Larry King calls very popular, even though I've never heard of her. A really smug, arrogant bitch, to say the least. She's probably some Air America twit with zero ratings. Then you have James Carville. Coupled with King, that's a whole lot of ugly for one television screen.

Anyway, King makes the utterly absurd statement that "somebody's got to think for the masses," an incredibly insipid statement for someone living in America, where individual liberty is our most cherished freedom. Or at least it used to be.

Scroll to after the 5:00 mark for this astonishingly stupid statement.

Hey Larry, maybe someone's got to do the thinking for you, probably your wife telling you when to change your Depends.

But no, I don't need anybody to do my thinking for me, thank you very much.

Is it any wonder this addle-brained, fish-faced freak has no ratings?

Obama Hate Machine Moves On to New Target

I guess Obama and his persons of hench have milked the AIG "outrage" for all it's worth and realize attacking Rush Limbaugh has badly backfired, so they're back to another favorite punching bag.

Soooo tedious.
Dear Friend,

You won't even believe this.

The Republicans have called on none other than Sarah Palin to headline their big fat-cat fundraising dinner.

You know they're going to use every last dime they raise to try to slam the brakes on President Obama's change agenda.

You know what I say? Thanks, but no thanks - how about you get back on that bridge to nowhere, Sarah.

We've got to beat her and the rest of those "no, baby, no" Republicans standing in President Obama's way by winning this FEC fundraising battle on March 31st. It's the only one in President Obama's first 100 days. It'll show everybody that America stands behind President Obama and Democrats fighting for change - not Sarah Palin and the "just say no" Republicans.
Yawn.

What prompts this? Well, as Ed Morrissey notes, somehow the RNC managed to raise more money than the DNC for February.

Go figure.

Look Who Wanted Bush to Fail On 9/11

Why none other than the odious James Carville, one of the chief architects of Obama's campaign targeting Rush Limbaugh.
On the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, just minutes before learning of the terrorist attacks on America, Democratic strategist James Carville was hoping for President Bush to fail, telling a group of Washington reporters: "I certainly hope he doesn't succeed."

Carville was joined by Democratic pollster Stanley Greenberg, who seemed encouraged by a survey he had just completed that revealed public misgivings about the newly minted president.

"We rush into these focus groups with these doubts that people have about him, and I'm wanting them to turn against him," Greenberg admitted.

The pollster added with a chuckle of disbelief: "They don't want him to fail. I mean, they think it matters if the president of the United States fails."

Minutes later, as news of the terrorist attacks reached the hotel conference room where the Democrats were having breakfast with the reporters, Carville announced: "Disregard everything we just said! This changes everything!"

The press followed Carville's orders, never reporting his or Greenberg's desire for Bush to fail. The omission was understandable at first, as reporters were consumed with chronicling the new war on terror. But months and even years later, the mainstream media chose to never resurrect those controversial sentiments, voiced by the Democratic Party's top strategists, that Bush should fail.

That omission stands in stark contrast to the feeding frenzy that ensued when radio host Rush Limbaugh recently said he wanted President Obama to fail. The press devoted wall-to-wall coverage to the remark, suggesting that Limbaugh and, by extension, conservative Republicans, were unpatriotic.

"The most influential Republican in the United States today, Mr. Rush Limbaugh, said he did not want President Obama to succeed," Carville railed on CNN recently. "He is the daddy of this Republican Congress."

Limbaugh, a staunch conservative, emphasized that he is rooting for the failure of Obama's liberal policies.
Windbags like Carville shoot their mouths off so often they din't even realize how the things they say will come back to haunt them.

There's a special place in Hell for people like Carville.

There's a huge difference between oily hatchetmen like Carville and people like Rush Limbaugh.
"The difference between Carville and his ilk and me is that I care about what happens to my country," Limbaugh told Fox on Wednesday. "I am not saying what I say for political advantage. I oppose actions, such as Obama's socialist agenda, that hurt my country.

"I deal in principles, not polls," Limbaugh added. "Carville and people like him live and breathe political exploitation. This is all a game to them. It's not a game to me. I am concerned about the well-being and survival of our nation. When has Carville ever advocated anything that would benefit the country at the expense of his party?"
H/T Nick Rizzuto.

Update: Rush Limbaugh points out Carville and Greenberg have some silly poll today claiming how unpopular Rush Limbaugh is. Maybe Rush ought to commission a poll on how unpopular they are.

Nobody will point it out, of course, but Limbaugh's "approval ratings" are higher than the Democrat Congress.

More here.

'Carville and Begala are Just Trying to Ride My Fame Into Their Fortune and Become Relevant Again'

Bring it on, bitches

Fighting back against the coordinated and unprecedented White House smears of a radio host, Rush Limbaugh fired back today and left nothing in doubt. He'll take Obama on if the president is man enough.

I doubt he is.
RUSH: That's the union bunch. Can you just see...? (laughing) "Call the Republican leadership and say no to Limbaugh." (laughing) Now, ladies and gentlemen, the Politico story today. I got an e-mail last night from the writer of the story, Jonathan Martin, who did not tell me the full details of what the story they were working on was. He did not tell me that they have discovered that there is a team inside the White House targeting me and that they've been doing this since last fall, when they went out and did some polling data and found out I've got very high negatives among certain groups. So they thought, "Well, this is the guy to demonize! Since Bush is leaving, we need somebody," and so this is being led from the White House. There is an orchestrated attack, daily drumbeat on me from the White House. The participants here are James Carville, Paul Begala, and Rahm Emanuel.

But make no mistake about it. Emanuel is the leader of all of this. Carville and Begala are just trying to ride my fame into their fortune and become relevant again. Begala and Carville, don't confuse them with the powerbrokers that are managing this. It all Emanuel. Begala and Carville are second-rate talking heads on CNN. CNN has no audience. Rahm Emanuel is the power behind the throne -- and don't let his effeminate nature and his ballerina past mislead you on this. He may look effeminate (he was a ballerina at one time) but he has the feral instincts of a female rat defending its young. Well, take a look. When Emanuel and Carville and Begala are together (and I've seen pictures) it looks like a reunion of the Village People. (singing) Y! M! C! A! They are really the official greeters in Roswell, New Mexico in Area 51 where Carville was born.

My point here is that these are really odious, empty, nasty people who are feasting on their own arrogance. They are power hungry. But, you know what? They've never had a serious debate over ideas. Their goal is to destroy opponents, which is what they're trying to do now. They don't want to engage opponents. Their idea of victory is the destruction of the opponent. They're not for a level playing field. They want to clear the playing field so that their ideas do not have to undergo any scrutiny. So what do they do? They leak stories to the Politico intended to create impressions about their own importance and their brilliance, when in fact they aren't even bit players on the nation's stage. This is Emanuel, and this is Obama.

But I have an idea. If these guys are so impressed with themselves, and if they are so sure of their correctness, why doesn't President Obama come on my show? We will do a one-on-one debate of ideas and policies. Now, his people in this Politico story, it's on the record. They're claiming they wanted me all along. They wanted me to be the focus of attention. So let's have the debate! I am offering President Obama to come on this program -- without staffers, without a TelePrompTer, without note cards -- to debate me on the issues. Let's talk about free markets versus government control. Let's talk about nationalizing health care and raising taxes on small business.

Let's talk about the New Deal versus Reaganomics. Let's talk about closing Guantanamo Bay, and let's talk about sending $900 million to Hamas. Let's talk about illegal immigration and the lawlessness on the borders. Let's talk about massive deficits and the destroying of opportunities of future generations. Let's talk about ACORN, community agitators, and the unions that represent the government employees which pour millions of dollars into your campaign, President Obama. Let's talk about your elimination of school choice for minority students in the District of Columbia. Let's talk about your efforts to further reduce domestic drilling and refining of oil. Let's talk about your stock market. By the way, Mr. President, I want to help. Yesterday you said you looked at the stock market as no different than a tracking poll that goes up and down.

There's no "up and down" here. We have a plunge. The president yesterday suggested "we're getting to the point where profits and earnings ratios are approaching that point where you want to invest." Uh, Mr. President? There is no "profits and earnings" ratio. It's "price and earnings" ratio. He's the president of the United States. He doesn't know anything about the stock market. He's admitted it before. Let's talk about it anyway. You want to maintain it's a tracking poll? I'd love to talk to you about that. Let's talk about all of these things, Mr. President. Let's go ahead and have a debate on this show. No limits. Now that your handlers are praising themselves for promoting me as the head of a political party -- they think that's a great thing -- then it should be a no-brainer for you to further advance this strategy by debating me on the issues and on the merits, and wipe me out once and for all!
But Obama never will, because he's a punk who has to have henchmen and his media buttboys fight his battles for him.

Coward.

Obama should take a page from George W. Bush, who behaved like a grown up in the White House and never whined like a little bitch about criticism.

'No Way, No How, Nobama'

Despite the media gushing about unity and how much of a team player Hillary Clinton pretended to be last night, the backbiting continues. And that was just Day 1 of the Clinton-fest with the Big Ooze, Bill Clinton, scheduled for this evening.
Even as Hillary Rodham Clinton told supporters to go for "O" last night, strategists close to the Clintons yesterday trashed the convention as the "Seinfeld" of nominating fetes - a gathering about nothing.

"If this party has a message, it's done a hell of a job hiding it, I promise you that," James Carville, who was integral in Bill Clinton's 1992 presidential campaign, told CNN.

Democratic strategist Paul Begala, another former Clintonite from '92, took umbrage over former Virginia Gov. Mark Warner - the convention's keynote speaker - suggesting he would use his speech not to slam GOP candidate John McCain but call for bipartisanship.

"This isn't the Richmond Chamber of Commerce," Begala quipped.

Warner's speech did harshly criticize McCain as well as President Bush.

But Begala's comments again highlighted the simmering tensions between supporters of Hillary and those of Barack Obama, which has so far been the dominant story line of the convention.

Hillary herself has made public pleas for unity, and has said she'll release her delegates and cast her vote for Obama.

The two camps worked out a deal where both candidates' names would be placed in nomination, but there would be a truncated roll call followed by a call for unity.
More here on the simmering tensions.
A significant number of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton’s top fund-raisers remain on the sidelines and unwilling to work for Senator Barack Obama, a nettlesome problem that appears to be contributing to the campaign’s failure to keep pace with ambitious fund-raising goals it set for the general election.

The lingering rancor between the sides appears to have intensified at the Democratic convention, with grousing from some Clinton fund-raisers about the way they are being treated by the Obama campaign in terms of hotel rooms, credentials and the like. Tensions were already high, particularly in the wake of revelations that Mr. Obama did not vet Mrs. Clinton or ask her advice on his vice-presidential pick.

Many major Clinton fund-raisers skipped the convention; others are leaving Wednesday, before Mr. Obama’s speech.
One of those skipping town will be Bill Clinton himself.

Maybe he's got a McCain fundraiser to attend.

Clinton Advisor: 'Those People Are Shit' (Update: Bogus)

Granted, this is from 1992, but it does give you an idea what the Democrats and Clinton folks really think about the little people.

Calling them "worthless white niggers" can't go over well.

Update: A dirty trick?

More here.

In all fairness, I'm removing the video.

Richardson: Clinton Aides in the Gutter

Gee, Bill, tell us something we don't know.
New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson said Sunday aides to U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., use "gutter" politics to get their way.

The former candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination was compared by one Clinton adviser to Judas this week following his voiced support of Clinton's rival, U.S. Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., The Washington Post reported.

"I'm not going to get in the gutter like that," Richardson said of the comments from informal Clinton adviser James Carville. "And you know, that's typical of many of the people around Senator Clinton. They think they have a sense of entitlement to the presidency."

Richardson has been critical of the ongoing fight for the Democratic nomination, but his scorn of such tactics has primarily been aimed at Clinton's camp.
Says here Mrs. Clinton is self-destructing.
But Richardson said it all in his endorsement speech. He said that the fighting must stop and Hillary must cease and desist in favor of Obama because he was a “once in a lifetime leader”.

Later, he said the Clintons have a sense of “entitlement” to the White House and shouldn’t.

But the Clintons won’t be muzzled and are fighting for their political lives. They obviously don’t care if their vicious attempt to win their nomination battle may end up costing the party the war.

Short of a Hail Mary Pass, the Clintons are digging themselves an early, and permanent, party grave. More super delegates are going to follow Richardson’s lead even if Hillary pulls off Pennsylvania on April 22.

National polls, after a rough week for Obama, have them tied and he is gaining again at her expense.
Not sure where Richardson comes up with this once-in-a-lifetime nonsense, but I will says it's most amusing seeing the infighting.

Keep it up folks, keep it up.
