Kyla Grace Palin was born Saturday to Palin's eldest son, 22-year-old Track Palin, and his new wife, 21-year-old Britta Hanson.
Hanson's mother, Elizabeth Hanson, confirmed the birth and told The Associated Press that the baby girl is "exquisite." At birth, the littlest Palin weighed in at 6 pounds, 15 ounces, according to the maternal grandmother.
"She's adorable," she said Wednesday, adding that the family is doing well. "We're all extremely excited about her arrival."

AOL Weird News gave two writing analytic companies samples of the former Alaska governor's recently released emails and both agree that the Tea Party favorite writes as if she's in middle school.
The 24,000 emails during Palin's time as Alaska governor are still being sifted through. But the documents are filled with her famous folksy phrases like "holy moly," "shindig" and "holy flippin' crap."
Then comes the media reality check:
It turns out Palin's writing skills are still better than most educated Americans. Global Language Monitor gave Palin's emails a score of 8.2, which actually exceeds that of most chief executives.
I'm confused. Is she a babbling middle-school idiot or superior in writing skills to CEOs? Why doesn't the headline read Palin More Effective Writer Than Most CEOs?
John Katzman, CEO of another company, 2tor, gave Palin a score of 8.5. He said the potential presidential candidate's emails scored higher than his own, when based on the widely-used Flesch-Kincaid readability test.
You suppose she's scoring better than the guy who can't string together two sentences without aid of his trusty TelePrompter?
I have absolutely no respect for Sarah Palin, other than for her unimpeachable ability to hunt well, then butcher and dress game on the spot. Her limits are obvious. What we see and hear is what we get: an arrogant lightweight.

The poignant message to family and friends, included in 25,000 pages of her private emails made public on Friday, may alter the way the former Governor of Alaska is viewed by the American public.
In April 2008, two weeks before Trig was born with Down's Syndrome, Mrs Palin sent the email to her friends and family from her official government account.
In the touching message, Mrs Palin writes from the voice of God, as 'Trig's creator, your heavenly father'.
She addresses the 'unreal, sad and confusing' news that her soon-to-be born child will have Down's Syndrome.
The letter's existence had previously known, but only very brief excerpts had been made public.
Writing as God, Mrs Palin wrote, 'I let Trig's mom have an exceptionally comfortable pregnancy so she could enjoy every minute of it...'
She wrote, 'Trig's mom and dad' were told early by doctors that the child 'may provide more challenges and more joy than what they ever may have imagined or ever asked for.
'This new person in your life can help everyone put things in perspective... and get everyone focused on what really matters. The baby will expand your world and let you see and feel things you haven't experienced yet'.
The letter also makes unlikely conspiracy theories that have long been circulating on blogs that Trig was actually born to Mrs Palin's unwed daughter Bristol.

She also added, 'Trig is no different except that he has one extra chromosome. Doctors call it Down's Syndrome, and Down's kids have challenges but can bring you much delight and more love than you can ever imagine. Just wait and see, let me prove this'.
She also wrote, 'Trig will be his dad's little buddy, and he'll wear Carhartts while he learns to tinker in the garage.
'He'll love to be read to, he'll want to play goalie and he'll steal his mom's heart just like Track, Bristol, Willow and Piper did.

The beclowned media is poring over 24,000 emails sent or received by Sarah Palin in an exercise that has put the final nail in the coffin of the lamestream media.
But they finally unearthed something newsworthy. There are a lot of deranged people out there who hate Sarah Palin.
Among the emails Sarah Palin fielded while she was on the campaign trail were a batch of vicious threats against her life.
On Sept. 12, 2008, she received a message through the state of Alaska's website that accused her of being racist and suggested that she would have joined the Ku Klux Klan if she were a man.
"She doesn't belong to the NRA to support the right of each citizen to have weapons in an aim of self-defence, but just to support the right of every Southern white citizen to shoot all non-white people legally!" wrote the sender, identified as Dominique Villacrouz. "Sarah Palin MUST BE KILLED!"
On Sept. 17, 2008, Palin received a profanity-laced message from a Juneau resident saying she needed to be "shot from one of the planes that shoot th [sic] the very wolves that you ordered."
A similar message on Sept. 12 from a resident in Antwerp, Belgium, also called for Palin to be shot, saying that "only on that moment justice will be accomplished."
Palin forwarded the messages to her aides without comment.
Sarah Palin yesterday insisted her claim at the Old North Church last week that Paul Revere “warned the British” during his famed 1775 ride — remarks that Democrats and the media roundly ridiculed — is actually historically accurate. And local historians are backing her up.
Palin prompted howls of partisan derision when she said on Boston’s Freedom Trail that Revere “warned the British that they weren’t going to be taking away our arms by ringing those bells and making sure as he’s riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be secure and we were going to be free.”
Palin insisted yesterday on Fox News Sunday she was right: “Part of his ride was to warn the British that were already there. That, hey, you’re not going to succeed. You’re not going to take American arms.”
In fact, Revere’s own account of the ride in a 1798 letter seems to back up Palin’s claim. Revere describes how after his capture by British officers, he warned them “there would be five hundred Americans there in a short time for I had alarmed the Country all the way up.”
Boston University history professor Brendan McConville said, “Basically when Paul Revere was stopped by the British, he did say to them, ‘Look, there is a mobilization going on that you’ll be confronting,’ and the British are aware as they’re marching down the countryside, they hear church bells ringing — she was right about that — and warning shots being fired. That’s accurate.”
Patrick Leehey of the Paul Revere House said Revere was probably bluffing his British captors, but reluctantly conceded that it could be construed as Revere warning the British.
“I suppose you could say that,” Leehey said. “But I don’t know if that’s really what Mrs. Palin was referring to.”
McConville said he also is not convinced that Palin’s remarks reflect scholarship.
“I would call her lucky in her comments,” McConville said.
So first she's a blithering idiot, but then is proven historically accurate and she just got lucky.
Good grief, these people are a dense bunch. Surely they'll all be lining up to offer their apologies.
He couches it by saying she probably wouldn't win the GOP nomination. But considering how beatable Obama is, it's not inconceivable whoever does win the GOP nod stands an excellent chance of being the next president. Especially if the economic calamity that is the Obama administration gets any worse over the next year.
Howard Dean, the former Democratic National Committee chairman who helped Democrats capture the White House in 2008, warns that Sarah Palin could defeat President Obama in 2012.
Dean says his fellow Democrats should beware of inside-the-Beltway conventional wisdom that Obama would crush Palin in a general-election contest next year.
“I think she could win,” Dean told The Hill in an interview Friday. “She wouldn’t be my first choice if I were a Republican but I think she could win.”
Dean warns the sluggish economy could have more of a political impact than many Washington strategists and pundits assume.
“Any time you have a contest — particularly when unemployment is as high as it is — nobody gets a walkover,” Dean said. “Whoever the Republicans nominate, including people like Sarah Palin, whom the inside-the-Beltway crowd dismisses — my view is if you get the nomination of a major party, you can win the presidency, I don’t care what people write about you inside the Beltway,” Dean said.
Dean spoke to The Hill the same day the Labor Department revealed the national economy added only 54,000 jobs in May and the national unemployment rate had risen to 9.1 percent.
If not Palin, indeed anyone else has a good shot.
Dean said Republicans made the mistake of underestimating Bill Clinton in the rest of the Democratic field in 1991 when former President George H.W. Bush seemed to have a strong advantage but the economy was still mired in recession.
“I can remember Bill Clinton, I think, was one of the seven dwarfs,” Cain said. “This goes on every four years and I think it’s best not to pay attention to that kind of talk.”

I suspect the left won't be too upset over the Palin comments. But his taking on the Obamas with those comments will surely have them up in arms.

Sarah Palin's participation in the annual Memorial Day parade in Washington, D.C., has fueled as much noise about a potential presidential candidacy as the thousands of motorcycle-riding veterans participating in the Rolling Thunder ride-along Sunday.
At the Pentagon parking lot where the mob of veterans and their families pre-position for the thunderous two-wheeler march down Constitution Ave, Palin, who was not expected to address the Memorial Day crowd, said she was thrilled to participate.

A former member of Sarah Palin's inner circle has written a scathing tell-all, saying Palin was ready to quit as governor months before she actually resigned and was eager to leave office when more lucrative opportunities came around.
"In 2009 I had the sense if she made it to the White House and I had stayed silent, I could never forgive myself," Frank Bailey told The Associated Press.
Palin's attorney did not respond to multiple requests for comment for this story.
"Blind Allegiance to Sarah Palin: A Memoir of Our Tumultuous Years" is due out Tuesday and based on tens of thousands of emails that Bailey said he kept during his time with Palin. It began with working on her 2006 gubernatorial campaign and continued through her failed run for vice president in 2008 and her brief stint as governor.
The Alaska attorney general's office has said it's investigating Bailey's use of the emails. Executive ethics laws bar former public officials from using information acquired during their work for personal gain if the information hasn't been publicly disseminated.
The state has yet to release thousands of emails that Palin sent and received during her 2 1/2 years as governor. Bailey's attorney has said Bailey took "great care" to ensure his writings were consistent with legal requirements.
Since when is two-and-a-half years a brief stint? When Barack Obama announced he was running for president after two years in the Senate, was that called a brief stint?
Meanwhile, since the AP is promoting this book as an exclusive, we wonder whether they'll be assigning an army of fact-checkers to it as they did with Going Rogue?
Bailey dismisses any suggestion he's disgruntled or bitter; he said he got a front-row seat to state and national politics and was able to recommend judges and set up "hundreds" of board positions. "Yeah, there were some tough, tough times but hopefully I've learned from some of that," he said. "Time will tell."
He said he has no ill feelings toward Palin, with whom he says he hasn't spoken since the fall of 2009. If anything, he said, he feels sad for her.

Sarah Palin is being sued for more than $100,000 by an longtime Alaska political activist who said the hockey mom tried to railroad him while she was governor.
Theodore "Chip" Thoma of Juneau alleges Palin launched a campaign "to punish, embarrass, discredit and silence" him after he raised serious concerns about traffic in the neighborhood surrounding the governor's mansion.
Thoma's attorney, James McGowan, said that after Thoma complained about tour bus traffic on the narrow streets around Palin's place, the governor attempted to turn the tables and make it appear as if Thoma were directing "some unsavory and lunatic" campaign against the first family, the Associated Press reports.
The traffic was due, in part, to Palin's sudden national fame after she was picked by Republican Sen. John McCain to be his running mate in his failed bid for president.
Thoma is a 2010 recipient of the Celia Hunter Award for Outstanding Volunteer Contributions presented by the Alaska Conservation Foundation.
This sets up a convenient narrative should Palin enter the 2012 presidential race. All the stories will lead with "Sarah Palin, currently being sued in Alaska, has thrown her hat in the ring..."
Will she or won't she? That seems to be the burning question and while liberals want her in the race so they can open fire with everything they got on her there are just as many Republicans who fear Sarah Palin.
Here is the entire 15 minute speech that Sarah Palin gave this weekend in Madison, WI. It is worth watching since it provides something for everyone, but also because it is important to see it in it's entirety and not just view the quickie soundbites.
She was particularly effective comparing candidate Obama's words to President Obama's actions.
For quite a while now I have thought that Ms Palin is best suited in the role of giving speeches such as this and using her power to bring attention to issues more then her ability as a candidate. Her plain outspokenness is her greatest asset. Unrestrained by political insiders who work to make a politician's speech nuanced, she can strike a chord in the American people that they can rally around.
I can not come to a firm decision on the ability of Sarah to wage a successful campaign, but I definitely believe in her power to focus Americans on issues. Her greatest power maybe the ability to take all the attention and focus from the 'declared' candidates while conservatives continue to survey the horizon looking for the cavalry to come charging over the hill to save the day. I will say that I am less then excited about any of the candidates that are in the race so far.
What I like about Ms Palin is in spite of all of the withering criticism and scrutiny and vicious attacks that not only her but her family has had to endure she refuses to back down. There is something to be said for strength of character. This is the same trait exhibited by Rep West (R-FL).

The FBI has arrested a teenager who sent threatening letters to former Alaska governor Sarah Palin, warning her to "watch her back" and claiming he had purchased a gun and a one-way ticket to Alaska.
Shawn Christy, 19, was arrested in Palin's home state of Alaska after Palin won a six-month restraining order against him in October. The order required that Christy stay a mile away from Palin's home and from a Wasilla-area high school. An order of protection was also issued for Palin's friend, Kristan Cole, who testified that Christy had been contacting her since 2009, sending her a letter with proof of a gun purchase and the claim that he had an affair with Palin.
In an interview with the Associated Press in September, Palin's attorney, Thomas Van Flien, said Christy had "risen to the top of the dozens and dozens of people" who have threatened Palin since she was tapped as the Republican vice presidential nominee in 2008.
An Alaska judge has issued a six-month protective order against a Pennsylvania man accused of stalking former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
Judge Suzanne Cole found 18-year-old Shawn Christy stalked the 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate and ordered him to not follow or otherwise stalk Palin and to have no communication with her or her family.
The order comes after a 20-day restraining order was issued last month.
Palin and her lawyer have said the man from McAdoo, Pa., made implied threats on the phone, telling Palin he was buying a one-way ticket to Alaska and sending a receipt for a gun purchase.
Palin's father Chuck said a man recently had sent the family photocopies of a receipt for a gun he had bought, together with a photocopy of a one-way ticket to Alaska.
The family had laughed it off, but the man subsequently turned up in the state and was arrested by the FBI, Chuck said.
"We sleep with the guns," Palin's father admitted.
Can it get any more humiliating for the lamestream media, being suckered into reporting a satirical blog post about Sarah Palin? They hate her so much they can't even bother to do the most basic of fact checking. If only they had the slightest sense of humor they wouldn't be such laughingstocks.

The comedian gave his second racy shout-out to Sarah Palin this week on Sunday night, when he stopped on the red carpet at the SAG Awards to chat with E! host Giuliana Rancic.
"Sarah Palin, you're the hottest MILF in the world!" Morgan shouted, referencing the raunchy acronym coined in the 1999 teen comedy "American Pie."
Morgan was winking at his own controversial comment on Thursday night, when he called the "Going Rogue" author and onetime Vice Presidential candidate "good masturbation material" in an on-air segment during an NBA broadcast for TNT.
He must be aching for a Facebook shoutout from Palin. I doubt he'll be getting one.

While the story heats up on the internet, The ENQUIRER has uncovered official documents confirming the woman's arrest.
We have also uncovered documents that show the woman - identified by bloggers as Shailey Tripp - contributed free massages to an anonymous person working for Sarah's campaign for governor of Alaska.
While representatives for Todd Palin vehemently deny he cheated on his wife, allegations of his extramarital affair surfaced on Jan. 4 when an anonymous tipster sent out messages to news outlets making the allegation using the e-mail address thepalinmorals@hotmail.com.
So someone with a hotmail account is now all the evidence they need to run with it. And naturally, the leftist media was off to the races.
Since the first hours of this breaking story ignited a firestorm of controversy key mainstream media The New York Daily News, Vanity Fair magazine, Yahoo News, The Huffington Post and Forbes Magazine, among others, have cited The ENQUIRER's bombshell investigation into the Palin cheating scandal.
In fact, Forbes suggested that "in the Palin-built political arena of 2011, Todd Palin’s affair might be just the ticket Sarah needs to be the first single mother in the Oval Office."
The Anchorage Police Department blasted the National Enquirer’s recent report that Todd Palin is embroiled in a sex scandal involving an extramarital affair with a massage therapist who belonged to a prostitution ring.
"It was just guilt by innuendo, nothing else," Lt. Dave Parker told the Daily News on Wednesday. "There’s not one scintilla of evidence that Todd Palin had anything to do with this."
At least the NYDN has followed up on this and reported the truth. That doesn't get them off the hook for running with it in the first place, but they specialize in daily Palin trashing, so it was just too much to resist.
Curious how the NYDN and most other media avoided the Enquirer story about John Edwards and his love child for at least a year, and that at least had some evidence to back it up. Like photos of Edwards with his child.
It's worth noting I can't locate any retractions or apologies from Vanity Fair magazine, Yahoo News, The Huffington Post and Forbes Magazine. What a surprise. Their work is done, I guess. Now their wild-eyed readers can just regurgitate the original story without knowing the truth.
This, ladies and gentleman, is your mainstream media.
Without the physical evidence, these allegations are nothing more than rumors–and a serious annoyance for Sarah Palin and her family–until they turn out to be true. Sexual scandals are never positive press for candidates and politicians. If this is true, will Palin crawl back to Alaska with her tail between her legs? Will we have seen the last of the clan in Washington?
One can hope.
But I’d venture a guess that the opposite would happen. While I promise to follow the unfolding drama of Todd Palin’s extra-marital affairs and report back, I’ll also make this prediction: should the rumors prove true, and Todd’s affair with Shailey Tripp become public, rather than lose political ground, I’d say Sarah will gain it. Her Grizzly supporters have stood behind her through much worse offenses than marrying a local yokel.
