The purpose of this video is to feed information to the western media that it is not Al Queda or Taliban that are killing innocent Muslims but rather those evil crusaders. This is part of the coordinated propaganda effort going on right now to get the masses riled up in Afghanistan. It is no coincidence that in the last few days you have seen stories blaming NATO and ISAF forces for the deaths of villagers recently in Afghanistan. In fact today there was a slew of articles repeating the notion that there was massive outrage over the killing of three civilians recently.

In the last couple of days there have been stories about soldiers dragging students out of a school and executing them and various other attacks. All of these type stories are fed to a willing media to spread and still the editors at places like the AP and Reuters never catch on to the game.

It is always the same. Spread the stories in the media, release a video tape or audio tape backing up the allegations, that while targeted to western audiences, are actually for consumption by the home crowd and then wait to see which ambulance chasing lawyer will take up their case and try to prosecute some soldiers.

This tactic has worked very well for them in the past. They have managed to get a Marine Special Forces unit removed from the theater without firing a shot. It has resulted in the restriction on the use of our firepower in certain areas resulting in increased causalities on our side while giving them more latitude to operate. Don't forget the pending case of the Navy SEAL's who are accused of roughing up a most wanted terrorist in Iraq. It is almost to the point where we have more service members and civilian contractors pending charges then we have prisoners at Gitmo.

I so want this guy to eat a Predator launched cruise missile or wind up on the receiving end of a .30 caliber appetizer.

Coming to a prison in New York.

Its “supermax” segregation wing, built at the height of the IRA’s bombing campaign, was designed to house dangerous inmates.

The IRA’s place as the main threat to Britain’s security has now been taken by Al-Qaeda and a new breed of terrorist is being held inside Long Lartin’s supermax isolation unit. The most prominent today is Abu Qatada, a radical Islamist cleric wanted on terrorism charges in Jordan and known to MI5 as “Osama Bin Laden’s right-hand man in Europe”.

But that is in England and things will be far different here. Right?

We have nothing to fear right? I mean our attorney general Eric Holder says that the prison they will be held at has a similar supermax wing.

The high-security prison in New York City where 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is expected to be sent to await his trial has a supermax wing to keep even the most notorious criminals quiet — but it isn't perfect. Just ask Louis Pepe.

Ten months before Al Qaeda in 2001 struck a deathblow in the heart lower Manhattan, one of the terrorist group's founding members plunged a sharpened comb through Pepe's left eye and into his brain, blinding the 42-year-old prison guard and causing severe brain injuries that plague him to this day.

Yet last year, under the noses of warders, it is said that Qatada and Adel Abdel Bary, leader of the UK branch of Egyptian Islamic Jihad, were able to smuggle out a series of “fatwas” — religious rulings — legitimising attacks by AlQaeda and endorsing the murder of moderate Muslims.

All I can say is I am glad they are going to be up in New York to ruin the commute for the next couple of years with all of the security hassles. The police and security are going to have to be on their best for an extended time protecting these guys, which will take them away from other duties, and the jihadists will be waiting for that one time when the security folks let down their guard for just a moment. The security team not only has to be on the lookout for what their prisoners might do, but also constantly on the alert for those wishing to either help them escape or those wishing to do them harm.

Listen if the high taxes from Mayor Bloomberg doesn't run you out of town, waiting for a bunch of Al-Queda types to try a jail break ought to. But y'all have fun and continue to marvel at the wonderful awesomeness of Barry O and his team of Bush Derangement Syndrome sycophants.

Oh and a final word of warning from England.

“Islamist extremists are running rings around a Prison Service which often seems clueless about the nature of the extremist threat. If this situation is not tackled, British prisons risk becoming universities of terror.”

UPDATE: This afternoon the Obama administration confirmed that they are looking at a prison in Illinois as a possible location to move the Gitmo prisoners to.

A prison in northern Illinois is the leading contender to house detainees transferred from the federal facility in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, a senior Obama administration official confirmed Saturday.

Officials from the White House and the Defense Department will be visiting the Thomson Correctional Center, about 150 miles west of Chicago.

Man-Caused Disaster Foiled: Two Chicago Men Charged in Danish Cartoon Terror Plot

Don't be alarmed, folks, Bill Ayers isn't one of them.

Federal authorities have arrested and charged two Chicago-area men in connection with an alleged terrorist plot focused on targets in Denmark after a newspaper there published cartoons that enraged the Muslim community.

Prosecutors in Chicago and the District said that the men posed "no imminent danger" and noted that David Coleman Headley and Tahawwar Hussein Rana have been in U.S. custody for several days while they conducted further "investigative activity."

Headley, 49, allegedly identified targets in Denmark for a possible terror strike and traveled there twice this year to conduct surveillance and to report to overseers in Pakistan with ties to al Qaeda, according to court papers.

He was arrested earlier this month at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport in a flight that was to culminate in Pakistan, authorities said. He faces charges including conspiracy to murder people abroad and providing material support to terrorist groups.

A U.S. citizen who changed his name three years ago, Headley allegedly conspired with high-ranking operatives overseas, using code words to conceal the plot called the "Mickey Mouse Project." Among Headley's correspondents, prosecutors say, were two unnamed people with ties to the al Qaeda affiliated group Lashkar-e-Taiba and with Ilyas Kashmiri, the operational chief of another Pakistani organization connected to al Qaeda.

Rana, a Pakistani native who resides in Chicago where he owns a halal meat business and an immigration operation, has been charged with conspiring to provide support to terrorists by allegedly helping to arrange Headley's travels.

"The public should be reassured there was no imminent danger in the Chicago area," U.S. Attorney Patrick J. Fitzgerald said in a statement.

An immigration operation?

In other terrorist news, two men in New York are charged with aiding Hezbollah.

An Indian man and an alleged accomplice have been charged with agreeing to sell guns and military equipment in a sting operation to Lebanese Shi'ite guerrilla group Hezbollah, U.S. authorities said on Tuesday.

Patrick Nayyar, a 45-year-old Indian citizen who had been illegally residing in New York City, is accused of meeting with an FBI informant posing as working for Hezbollah and agreeing to sell guns, ammunition, vehicles, bulletproof vests and night vision goggles, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.

Nayyar and an alleged accomplice, Conrad Mulholland, face charges including conspiring to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization after they had meetings with the informant between July and September of this year, according to the indictment filed on Monday.

Nayyar was arrested on September 24 at his home in New York on separate charges while Mulholland remains at large.

Al-Qaeda Member Arrested at Hadron Collider

This ain't good. A researcher who works on the Hadron Collider, you know, that big ol thingamabobby that can bring about the end of the world by creating a blackhole, has been arrested for his association with Al-Qaeda.

French agents have arrested a researcher from Europe's top atomic lab on suspicion of links to al-Qaeda, fuelling fears that terrorists could be targeting the nuclear industry.

The 32-year-old man, who was detained along with his brother, works for the prestigious European Organisation for Nuclear Research (Cern) in Geneva, Switzerland, according to French police sources.

Once again it is the French. What is up with the French lately? They seem to have taken the lead in fighting the Islamic extremists. Has the election of Barack "Nobel Peace Prize Laureate" Obama scared them so much that they have been motivated to take action? A few days ago they tracked down and got some Somali pirates.

For some reason I don't think Al-Qaeda was listening when Barry said he wanted to rid the world of nuclear weapons.

Cern said the suspect had ''never been in contact with any elements which could be used for terrorist purposes.''

He was a physician who worked on data analysis ''in the context of a contract with another institute'' and ''none of his research had a potential military application'', it said in a statement.

Well, that's reassuring. Except when you are dealing with suicidal religious nut jobs who love to strap plastic explosive to their chests and walk into markets and go boom.

Memo to AP: When Terrorists Hide Among Children, Children Sometimes Get Killed

The rank bias just never ends. Rather than playing up the obvious good news, the Associated Press has to be lead with the fact a couple of kids may have been killed.

Will the time ever come when they realize the kids are basically human shields?

A U.S. helicopter strike north of Baghdad killed eight people in a vehicle, including at least two children, Iraqi officials said Thursday, insisting all the dead were civilians. The U.S. military said six were al-Qaida militants but acknowledged children were killed.

AP Television News footage showed the bodies of three children in blood-drenched clothes — the eldest appearing to be in his early teens — along with the bodies of five men, at the hospital in Beiji, where the dead were taken after Wednesday evening's strike.

Iraqi and U.S. officials each put the number of slain children at two. The reason for the discrepancies between the two accounts and the TV footage was not known.

It was the latest incident threatening to alienate Sunni Arabs, who have played a key role in the steep decline in violence over the past year by joining forces with the Americans against al-Qaida in Iraq. Beiji, an oil hub 155 miles north of Baghdad, lies in a largely Sunni Arab area.

Naturally, they have to gratuitously mention the dreaded Koran shooting incident, which today claimed its first victims. Of course, they'll be whining about that until around 2020.

The strike came as the U.S. was trying to ease Iraqi anger over the shooting of a copy of the Quran by an American sniper, who used Islam's holy book for target practice.

In Afghanistan on Thursday, a NATO soldier and two demonstrators were killed at a violent protest over the Quran shooting.

Iraq has not seen any street protests over the Quran shooting, which took place earlier this month in a Sunni area west of Baghdad. But Iraqi leaders have loudly denounced the act, prompting a series of apologies from U.S. military commanders and President Bush. The U.S. military says the sniper was disciplined and removed from Iraq.

Don't worry, the AP will be more than happy to agitate for some violence.

Well Ayman al-Zawahri has finally released his much anticipated first part of his responses to the questions posed to him via a web site. No I don't have the transcript since I have heard enough of his propaganda to probably write the responses myself.
His answer to the question regarding why Al Queda has killed so many innocents was also predictable. "What innocents?"
What I think continues to be the bigger hidden message is that once again there is no Bin Laden. I am starting to believe more and more that Bin Laden is at room temperature and Zawahri is stuck trying to continue rallying the forces while promoting the myth. Personally I think a martyred Bin Laden would be a bigger draw then the myth.
What will be interesting is seeing how long it will take his responses to appear on liberal blogs like Kos and Huffington Post being used as talking points by the folks who frequent those dungeons of despair.
He also blasts the UN and Israel which in itself is sort of contradictory. Nobody has passed more resolutions condemning Israel and worked more to provide cover for the Islamic terrorists then the UN. In a nutshell Zawahiri hates everybody and there are no innocent people. In a sane society we would label him as mass murderer and a psychopath, instead of bestowing the title Number 2 in the Al Queda organization, as if that is equivalent to being an CEO of some business.

Rough Justice: Most Wanted al Qaeda Walks Free on His Own Recognizance

Yemen is really doing its part to help in the war on terror.

SENIOR al-Qaeda figure Jaber al-Banna, who has a $US5 million ($5.4 million) US bounty on his head, walked free from an appeal hearing in Yemen overnight after being granted bail on his own recognisance.

Banna, who has joint Yemeni-US citizenship and was handed a 10-year jail term in absentia last year, is one of 36 convicted militants who are appealing prison sentences of between two and 15 years.

He surrendered to Yemeni authorities in December after negotiations lasting several months. There has still been no word of what deal, if any, was struck.

Banna made his first court appearance at the opening of the appeal on February 23 when he was allowed to walk free without any bail conditions at all.

At the overnight hearing, Banna urged the court to overturn his "unjust" sentence and accused the Yemeni government of colluding with the US to imprison him. He is due back in court on March 23.

Washington suspects Banna of providing material support to al-Qaeda and has offered a reward of up to $US5 million for his arrest.

He is one of a number of al-Qaeda suspects who have been the subject of arguments between Sanaa and Washington.

Yemen and the US previously clashed over Jamal al-Badawi, a suspected al-Qaeda militant jailed for 15 years, for his role in the October 2000 bombing of the destroyer USS Cole off the southern port of Aden which killed 17 US sailors.

Badawi, who also has a $US5 million US bounty on his head, was among 23 convicted al-Qaeda militants who escaped from jail in February 2006.

He surrendered to the authorities in October but neighbours said he was being allowed to serve his sentence under house arrest in his home.

Bin Laden issues warning on Iraq, Israel

CAIRO, Egypt - Osama bin Laden warned Iraq's Sunni Arabs against fighting al-Qaida and promised to expand the terror group's holy war to Israel in a new audiotape Saturday, threatening "blood for blood, destruction for destruction."

Most of the 56-minute tape dealt with Iraq, apparently al-Qaida's latest attempt to keep supporters in Iraq unified at a time when the U.S. military claims to have al-Qaida's Iraq branch on the run.

The tape did not mention Pakistan or the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, though Pakistan's government has blamed al-Qaida and the Taliban for her death on Thursday.

But bin Laden's comments offered an unusually direct attack on Israel, which has warned of growing al-Qaida activity in Palestinian territory. The terror network is not believed to have taken a strong role there so far.

"We intend to liberate Palestine, the whole of Palestine from the (Jordan) river to the sea," he said, threatening "blood for blood, destruction for destruction."

"We will not recognize even one inch for Jews in the land of Palestine as other Muslim leaders have," bin Laden said.

Hmm. Maybe that potassium nitrate had some nefarious purposes?

In the audiotape, bin Laden denounced Abdul-Sattar Abu Risha, the former leader of the Anbar Awakening Council, who was killed in a September bombing claimed by al-Qaida.

"The most evil of the traitors are those who trade away their religion for the sake of their mortal life," bin Laden said.

Bin Laden said U.S. and Iraqi officials are seeking to set up a "national unity government" joining the country's Sunnis, Shiites and Kurds.

"Our duty is to foil these dangerous schemes, which try to prevent the establishment of an Islamic state in Iraq, which would be a wall of resistance against American schemes to divide Iraq," he said.

Too late, pal. Your boys are getting their asses kicked.

Al-Qaeda Claims Responsibility for Algerian Bombings

No shocker here.

AL-QAEDA'S North African wing said two of its members carried out overnight twin car bombings in the Algerian capital in which up to 67 people were killed.

The attacks were carried out in Algiers by Abdul-Rahman al-Aasmi and Ami Ibrahim Abou Othman, the group said on an Islamist website.

It showed pictures of the suicide bombers holding assault rifles.

Earlier, Algerian Interior Minister Yazid Zerhouni blamed the attacks on the local branch of al-Qaeda, the Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat (GSPC).

"We are sure that it is the work of the GSPC," Mr Zerhouni said.

A number of UN workers were killed in the blasts.

I wonder what the Algerians and the UN have done to anger them?

Some variations on the names of the two perpetrators show up on past Club Gitmo databases, though it's not apparently them. Hard to tell with those names, however.

2 al-Qaida leaders captured in Iraq

BAQOUBA, Iraq - U.S. and Iraqi troops captured two senior al-Qaida militants and seven other operatives Saturday in Diyala province, an Iraqi commander said, as an offensive to clear the volatile area of insurgents entered its fifth day.

The U.S. military also cracked down elsewhere in Iraq, saying in a statement that seven other al-Qaida fighters were killed and 10 suspects detained in raids in Tikrit, east of Fallujah, south of Baghdad and in Mosul.

Three other militants suspected of having ties to Iran were detained in a predawn operation by U.S. forces working with Iraqi informants in Baghdad's main Shiite district of Sadr City, the military said separately.

Harry Reid had no comment.

Terrorists Iced in Pakistan ID'd

As we noted Tuesday, more than 30 terrorists were whacked in Pakistan, and reports now indicate they were mostly Arab and could possibly include some high-value targets.

ISLAMABAD: The terrorists who have been killed in blast in Datakhel area near the Afghan border in abandoned area of Miramshah have been identified.

Military sources while talking to Online confirmed that explosion in the suspected religious seminary in Datakhel area near the Afghan border on Wednesday claimed 33 lives out of which 27 persons including four injured have been identified as foreigners.

Military sources further confirmed that out of 23 deceased, 19 have been identified as Arab, while four belonged to Turkmenistan.

Similarly, four injured have also been identified as Arab. Now the area has been under strict security after the deployment of military personnel.

The locals of the area also confirmed that there was no religious seminary where the explosion occurred rather a compound used for the terrorists training.

Hmm. There has been very little media attention given this story the past couple of days, but it seems there may be more to this. The strike curiously came right after the reports of suicide bombers being prepped in the area.

Milan, 7 June (AKI) - Police in Milan arrested Thursday at least nine suspected militants who are accused of having provided logistical assistance and funding to an Algerian terror group which pledged allegiance to al-Qaeda last year, security officials said. Investigators believe the suspects had set up a cell in Milan of the Al-Qaeda Organisation of the Islamic Maghreb, the former Salafite Group for Preaching and Combat (GSPC), which has claimed responsibility for a wave of attacks in North Africa's largest country including suicide bombings that killed 33 in Algiers on 11 April.

The cell is also accused of providing logistical support to militants operating in Tunisia and among the arrest warrants issued Thursday is one against a Tunisian citizen, Essid Sami Ben Khemais, who had just finished serving a six-and-a-half year jail term on terror charges.

Lebanese Troops Battle Islamist Savages

No doubt the friends of Nancy Pelosi have a hand in this.

At least 19 people were killed in fierce gunbattles that erupted in Lebanon on Sunday between soldiers and fighters from a shadowy Islamic extremist group accused of links to Al-Qaeda.

Lebanese troops launched an assault on a building in Tripoli where militants from
Fatah al-Islam were holed up after a morning of deadly shootouts in the northern port city and and a nearby Palestinian refugee camp.

An army spokesman said 11 soldiers had lost their lives in the fighting -- the deadliest such clashes for seven years -- while seven gunmen were reported killed along with a civilian who was caught in the crossfire when troops attacked the building in Tripoli.

Lebanon sent in troop reinforcements to contain the battles which erupted at dawn in Tripoli and around the nearby Palestinian refugee camp of Nahr al-Bared, a Fatah al-Islam stronghold.

Naturally, Pelosi's good friends denied any involvement. We can always trust them, right?

Syria, the former power broker in Lebanon, announced it had closed two border posts into its smaller neighbour because of the violence.

Russia expressed deep concern, saying: "Such an upsurge of violence in an already tense situation in Lebanon gives rise to deep anxiety."

Lebanese authorities have accused Fatah al-Islam, a splinter group said to be ideologically close to Osama bin Laden's network, of working for the Syrian intelligence services.

This report says 21 are dead.

Al-Qaeda Leader Whacked in Iraq

The Democrats lost another comrade today.

U.S. and Iraqi forces have killed the head of the self-styled Islamic State in Iraq, an al Qaeda-led militant group that has claimed many major attacks in the country, Iraq's deputy interior minister said on Thursday.

Hussein Kamal said Abu Omar al-Baghdadi had been killed in a battle north of Baghdad. He declined to say when but said authorities had recovered Baghdadi's body.

"Abu Omar al-Baghdadi was killed north of Baghdad by Iraqi and American forces. He died as a result of wounds sustained in clashes. The Interior Ministry has his body to carry out further checks," Kamal told Reuters by telephone.

Rest in pieces.

With all the hoopla over George Tenet's new book and 60 Minutes appearance, it's almost overlooked that Al-Qaeda plan to assassinate Al Gore back in 1998.

Saudi Arabia foiled a plot to use anti-tank missiles to assassinate Vice President Gore in 1998 while he was traveling in the region, according to a new book by former CIA Director George Tenet.

The book says Abdel Rahim al-Nashiri, a leading member of al-Qaeda who was later linked to the bombing of the USS Cole, tried to smuggle four Sagger anti-tank guided missiles into the kingdom about a week before the vice president was scheduled to arrive, according to MSNBC.

Maybe the left will start taking terrorism seriously when they realize the sainted Goracle was also a target.

Who's Winning, Harry?

Amir Taheri makes an interesting point. If Harry Reid says we've lost in Iraq, then who won?

Because all wars have winners and losers, Reid, having identified America as the loser, is required to name the winner. This Reid cannot do.

The reason is that, whichever way one looks at the situation, America and its Iraqi allies remain the only objective victors in this war.

Reid cannot name al Qaeda as the winner, because the terror organization has failed to achieve any of its objectives. It hasn't been able to halt the process of democratization, marked by a string of elections, and it has failed to destroy the still fragile institutions created in the post-Saddam era. Al Qaeda is also suffering from increasing failure to attract new recruits, while coming under pressure from Iraqi Sunni Arab tribes, especially west of the Euphrates.

In military terms, al Qaeda hasn't won any territory and has lost the control it briefly exercised in such places as Fallujah and Samarra. More important, al Qaeda has failed to develop a political program, focusing instead on its campaign of mindless terror.

What about the remnants of the Saddamite regime? Can Reid name them as victors? Hardly. What's left of the Baath Party has split into four warring factions with rival leaders in exile.

The remnants of the Republican Guards have also split. Some have joined Muqtada al-Sadr's Mahdi Army, now the Loch Ness monster of Iraqi politics. Others have set up crime syndicates and/or death squads with no discernible political ambitions.

Reid may believe that Iran, either alone or with its Syrian Sancho Panza, is the victor. If that's the case, Reid shares the illusion peddled by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Al-Qaeda Planning Massive British Attack

Maybe if they just surrendered faster, Al-Qaeda would be nice to them. Harry Reid thinks it's a workable strategy.

AL-QAEDA leaders in Iraq are planning the first “large-scale” terrorist attacks on Britain and other western targets with the help of supporters in Iran, according to a leaked intelligence report.

Spy chiefs warn that one operative had said he was planning an attack on “a par with Hiroshima and Nagasaki” in an attempt to “shake the Roman throne”, a reference to the West.

Another plot could be timed to coincide with Tony Blair stepping down as prime minister, an event described by Al-Qaeda planners as a “change in the head of the company”.

The report, produced earlier this month and seen by The Sunday Times, appears to provide evidence that Al-Qaeda is active in Iran and has ambitions far beyond the improvised attacks it has been waging against British and American soldiers in Iraq.

There is no evidence of a formal relationship between Al-Qaeda, a Sunni group, and the Shi’ite regime of President Mah-moud Ahmadinejad, but experts suggest that Iran’s leaders may be turning a blind eye to the terrorist organisation’s activities.

The intelligence report also makes it clear that senior Al-Qaeda figures in the region have been in recent contact with operatives in Britain.

MPACUK calls it scare-mongering, of course. Still, don't think they're not trying to acquire nuclear capabilities and would use them immediately.

“It could be just a reference to a huge explosion,” said a counter-terrorist source. “They [Al-Qaeda] have got to do something soon that is radical otherwise they start losing credibility.”

Despite aspiring to a nuclear capability, Al-Qaeda is not thought to have acquired weapons grade material. However, several plots involving “dirty bombs” - conventional explosive devices surrounded by radioactive material - have been foiled.

Last year Al-Qaeda’s leader in Iraq called on nuclear scientists to apply their knowledge of biological and radiological weapons to “the field of jihad”.

Indeed, in March 2007, Al-Qaeda launched new threats against Spain, this time over its military deployment in Afghanistan. In a video, a hooded man said the presence of Spanish troops in Afghanistan "exposes Spain again to threats" unless they withdraw their troops from the country. "The Spanish people have been tricked by a socialist government which withdrew troops from Iraq and sent 600 to Afghanistan," the man proclaimed. So much for Zapatero's truce with Islam.
