So Helpful: AFL-CIO Offers 'Progressive Tax Revenue Proposals'

In the real world, a place the AFL-CIO hasn't lived in in decades, we call these tax increases. But when you've got your greedy paws on may wallets and want to squeeze more money out for pie-in-the-sky spending schemes, you call them progressive tax revenue proposals. They just never learn, do they?

The AFL-CIO is proposing a number of tax hikes and healthcare policy reforms, along with drawing troops down in Afghanistan and Iraq, to help bring down the national deficit.

In a memo sent to reporters Monday, Alison Omens, the labor federation’s director of media outreach, says the AFL-CIO will be urging members of Congress this October to help get Americans back to work, including passing $140 billion in funds for rebuilding the nation’s infrastructure and aiding state governments as proposed by President Obama in his American Jobs Act.

I didn't realize it was the job of labor unions to offer advice on the military. Then again, top thug Jimmy Hoffa did say he had an army ready to fight back against those evil tea partiers.

In addition, healthcare costs can be brought under control without cutting benefits, according to the AFL-CIO. They propose establishing a government-run insurance program known as “the public option,” which they estimate could save $88 billion over 10 years; allowing prescription drugs to be re-imported, saving $11 billion over 10 years; and having Medicare negotiate drug prices, saving $200 billion over 10 years, among their suggestions.

Calling them “progressive tax revenue proposals,” the AFL-CIO also recommends a number of tax hikes on the wealthy and the financial services sector to pare down the debt. That would include a financial transactions tax, saving more than $1 trillion over 10 years; a millionaires’ surtax, saving more than $400 billion over 10 years; and taxing capital gains as ordinary income, equaling savings of more than $168 billion over 10 years, among their proposals.

Notice how they call tax hikes savings. They sure won't be saving any jobs when they keep hiking rates on those evil millionaires. You know, the employers that do the hiring.

Obama, of course, is talking the same nonsense with his latest tax schemes.

Domestic Terrorism: Barbaric Union Thugs Run Wild in Washington

Welcome to Obama's America, bought and paid for by Jimmy Hoffa and Richard Trumka.

Hundreds of Longshoremen stormed the Port of Longview early Thursday, overpowered and held security guards, damaged railroad cars, and dumped grain that is the center of a labor dispute, said Longview Police Chief Jim Duscha.

Six guards were held hostage for a couple of hours after 500 or more Longshoremen broke down gates about 4:30 a.m. and smashed windows in the guard shack, he said.

No one was hurt, and nobody has been arrested. Most of the protesters returned to their union hall after cutting brake lines and spilling grain from car at the EGT terminal, Duscha said.

The International Longshore and Warehouse Union believes it has the right to work at the facility, but the company has hired a contractor that's staffing a workforce of other union laborers.

Thursday's violence was first reported by Kelso radio station KLOG.

Police from several agencies in southwest Washington, the Washington State Patrol and Burlington Northern Santa Fe responded to the violence to secure the scene that followed a demonstration Wednesday.

"We're not surprised," Duscha said. "A lot of the protesters were telling us this in only the start."

Why has no one been arrested for this obviously terrorist activity? Can you imagine if a right-wing group perpetrated such violence? Not only would it be 24/7 news, the Justice Department, FBU and Homeland Security would be raiding the homes and businesses of anyone involved.

Instead, nobody is arrested. Unreal.

Meanwhile, union boss Trumka, who regularly visits the White House and flies on Air Force One, is an invited guest at Obama's so-called jobs speech tonight.

The list of business, labor, and political leaders includes GE chairman Jeffrey Immelt, AOL co-founder Steve Case, AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka; and Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley.

Some advice for the folks at the Port of Longview: Arm yourselves and defend your property. It's quite obvious law enforcement has chosen sides, and they're not on yours.

It appears these animals are in violation of a restraining order.

A federal judge in Tacoma Thursday issued a temporary restraining order against the local longshore union that may clear the way for grain deliveries to the new $200 million EGT grain terminal at the Port of Longview.

The order, which will be in effect for 10 days, prohibits union members from engaging in "unlawful ... picket line violence, threats and property damage, mass picketing and blocking of ingress and egress at the facility of EGT," U.S. District Court Judge Ronald B. Leighton wrote.

Time to hold them in contempt. If you need any idea what kind of meatheads we're dealing with here, look no further.

Junior Hoffa Goes Full Media Matters, Blames His Call for Violence as Being Misinterpreted as Call for Violence by Evil Fox News and Drudge

Because what you saw yesterday was not a call to violence, it was just reminding his goons they're in a war or something. OK, thanks for clearing that up. I nominate this guy right now to keynote the Democratic Convention next year.

Teamsters President Jimmy Hoffa maintained Tuesday that union workers are at "war" with Tea Party-affiliated politicians, but insisted he wasn't inciting violence.

Hoffa stood by remarks he made over the weekend at a Labor Day rally in Detroit at which he called for workers to “take these son-of-a-bitches out” in 2012.

"I will never apologize for standing up for my fellow Teamsters and all American workers," Hoffa said in a press release Tuesday.

Hoffa also accused what he called "anti-worker media," including Fox News Channel and the website Drudge Report, of editing the clip of his speech to make it appear he was "inciting violence against members of Tea Party organizations."

He indeed was inciting violence. Everyone with a functioning brain knows this. The White House won't even disavow it.

"Let's Take These Sons of Bitches Out"

More of that new tone of civility we keep hearing. This from Obama cheerleader and money launderer Jimmy Hoffa Jr., head of the Teamsters Union.

"We got to keep an eye on the battle that we face: The war on workers. And you see it everywhere, it is the Tea Party. And you know, there is only one way to beat and win that war. Obama will deliver remarks at a Labor Day event sponsored by the Metro Detroit Labor Council, according to a White House official with knowledge of the trip.

Role Reversal: Striking Verizon 'Worker' Takes a Beating on Long Island

Sounds to me like this union guy "got in the face" of someone actually doing their job and got what he had coming. Of course, unlike when union goons beat people up, the guy who delivered the beatdown was arrested.

A Verizon union worker was hospitalized after a physical altercation with a non-union Verizon manager Thursday in Riverhead.

Dennis Dunn was taken to the hospital following a squabble with George Googe, an out-of-state Verizon manager. Googe was arrested and charged with second-degree harassment, according to Riverhead police.

The dispute occurred in front of the Suffolk County National Bank on West 2nd Street in Riverhead, nearby where Verizon union members were picketing, said Donald Dunn, executive Vice President of Communications Workers of America Local 1108, who is the brother of the hospitalized union member.

Dennis went to the protest to check on the demonstration when Googe crossed the picket line, said Dunn. Googe was later arrested.

“I know he was very upset…he’s a little shaken,” said Dunn about his brother, who was not wearing a red shirt like other union members when the incident occurred.

Verizon said though a spokesperson: “We’re looking into the allegations and we will respond accordingly. We don’t tolerate or condone any illegal behavior by any employee.”

Well, these things can happen when you run around announcing we're here to fight. Sometimes people punch back twice as hard.

Oh well.

After weeks of threats, harassment, intimidation, cutting power lines, putting little girls in front of trucks, picketing outside people's homes and overall thuggish behavior, one of them finally gets a punch in the mouth. Now they'll play the sympathy card. Good luck with that. About time someone stood up to these punks.

Union Executive VP's Message for Verizon Strikers: 'It Is Open Season ...Torture Them'

Sounds like these union goons are taking their marching orders from Barack Obama to get in their faces.

The Verizon strike involves 45,000 workers. Most of them work on the Verizon land lines, a business that has been declining as more and more people use cell phones. These workers and Verizon are trying to renegotiate a contract. Both sides are pretty far apart.

The main issues include cutting back on pensions, disability and sick days, and higher costs for healthcare.

In many cases, the pickets are quiet like the one in Harlem Monday afternoon: picketers passed out flyers, encouraging a few honks on the horn.

But in the past week, we've seen some CWA union members take it a good bit further.

One group of strikers blew horns and whistles in the faces of Verizon workers.

One protestor in New Jersey appeared to instruct a girl to stand in front of an approaching Verizon truck.

Fox 5 has learned union leaders record a voice message every couple of days updating members on the status of the negotiations.

On Friday, Local 1109 Executive Vice President Chris Calabrese spoke. In one clip, he references what strikers should do to managers and Verizon workers he calls scabs.

"It is open season. Follow them safely, but when you get to a location, torture them. Torture them with chants and noise. Be so loud that they can't concentrate and wish they never got out of bed," he said on the recording. Calabrese also said Verizon doesn't want a fair deal, but instead wants to break the union. "Understand brothers and sisters, we can never let these [expletive] piece of [expletive] pigs break us."

He goes on to tell strikers to be classy to customers and not use profanity or drink on the lines. Within the colorful language, Calabrese never encourages any violence or illegal activity.

Even so, CWA union political director Bob Master said the union decided it was not a good way to communicate.

Gee, ya think?

"It's vile, it's disgusting and it's disappointing. Certainly this is no way to behave during a job action like this," a Verizon spokesperson said.

It's vile, disgusting and typical of these animals.

I wonder how Calabrese would feel if someone declared open season on him?

Wonderful: Anti-Terror Resources Being Devoted to Protect Verizon Workers From Striking Union Thugs

Remember all that nonsense about Tea Partiers and Republicans being terrorists? Yeah, about that.

The NYPD is using crucial anti-terror resources to protect Verizon workers and equipment during a massive strike against the telecom giant, The Post has learned.

The short-staffed department, already stretched thin in all five boroughs, is monitoring Verizon garages and following its trucks with cops from all over the city, including members of the Critical Response anti-terrorism units.

"We have to follow Verizon trucks all day," said one disgruntled officer. "Why don't they have private security? Why are police being used to help a private company?"

Then all of a sudden, mysterious acts of sabotage started happening. Of course it's all just a coincidence or something.

The strike has gotten hostile at some facilities, including in The Bronx, where a striking employee allegedly fired a BB gun at a non-striking worker.

In Manhattan, picketing employees intimidated workers sent to splice a cable and refused to leave when police were called, according to a company legal filing.

In Albany, a striker pushed another worker into scaffolding, the company said.

"We have no issue with striking workers picketing and protesting outside our facilities, but it's irresponsible and dangerous when they take the extra step of blocking our employees from entering or exiting," Verizon spokesman Richard Young said.

"Our phones are lifelines for people who may need to make emergency communications."

Obviously these union terrorists don't care about the safety of the public. As long as they get what they want, they're content to hold a gun to people's heads and hold the innocent hostage.

Now the FBI is involved.

Spokesman Rich Young said the company, based in New York City, has discovered more than 90 acts of sabotage since the strike began last weekend. Young said wires had been cut in some places, causing the loss of phone and Internet service.

Among the nonresidential customers affected were a police department and a hospital, according to Michael Mason, Verizon’s chief security officer.

An FBI spokesman confirmed Thursday that the bureau is looking into the allegation. “Because critical infrastructure has been affected, namely the telecommunications of both a hospital and a police department, the FBI is looking into this matter from a security standpoint as part of our security efforts leading up to the 9-11 anniversary,” Special Agent Bryan Travers said in an email.

So spoiled union goons don't get their way and we've got to devote anti-terror and FBI resources?

Stay Classy, Union Thugs: 'This is Ridiculous. Why Are They Picketing My House?'

Way to help win the PR war, you idiots.

A Quincy mom has disconnected her support for striking Verizon workers yesterday after a group of mouthy picketers surrounded non-union repairmen and turned a phone-line fix at her home into what she is calling a “ridiculous” protest scene.

“I looked in the street and there are picketers, 10 of them or more, doing a circle around the Verizon truck,” said Karen Austin, 64, a mother of five who lives on Forest Avenue. “Every time (the repairmen) would walk up to my house they would follow them. I couldn’t believe my eyes. This is ridiculous. Why are they picketing my house?”

With tensions rising in a work-stoppage now in its fifth day, Verizon filed lawsuits in five states, including Massachusetts, yesterday to limit picketing by the 45,000 striking workers.

The company claims picketers have harassed non-union workers, and has reported suspected sabotage, such as sliced cables. The union has denied sabotage.

I've passed by the sniveling scumbags quite a few times in the past couple of days where I'm vacationing. I've made a point to roll down the window and spit in their general direction every time. They deserve it. They should consider themselves fortunate I show such restraint.

Verizon Communications Inc. reported a dozen cases of sabotaged cable lines and warned of delays in repairs and customer service on the second day of a strike involving about 45,000 employees.

The telecommunications company said there have been 12 acts of sabotage to telephone lines and to Internet and television services in Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, and New York since the strike began.

Fiber-optic lines were intentionally cut in Tewksbury and several other municipalities on the East Coast, the company said.

Stolen equipment in Cedar Grove, N.J., affected service to a police department, and a heat system was tampered with at a central office in Manhattan.

“This could be a dangerous situation if people need to reach fire, police, or emergency responders and can’t use their phone,’’ said Phil Santoro, a spokesman for Verizon.

Yeah, so if a few people die it's all for the cause or something. Why should these hard-working people have to pay a few extra bucks for their Cadillac health plans?

By the way, from the looks of things none of them are spending much on grooming or clothing. Seems more likely most of their disposable income goes towards liquor and drugs.

Myles Calvey, a business manager with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers who is representing New England workers in the negotiations, said the union has no knowledge of its members committing any acts of sabotage.

“We don’t do that, and nobody in the union leadership supports any of that,’’ he said. The striking workers are members of the IBEW and the Communications Workers of America.

Sure, it's all just a coincidence. As if they'd admit to their own thuggery.

Stupid Union Tricks: 'Because They Really Lack Originality, They Rip Off the Dynamics of the Tea Party Movement'

Finally, a story about protesters acting "patriotic" and they're not being labeled as a racist mob.

The protest outside the New Jersey Statehouse had all the usual trappings of a tea party rally: colonial costumes, allusions to governments infringing on rights and rattlesnake-emblazoned Gadsden flags reading "Don't tread on me."

But this was no tea party. It was a union demonstration.

In rallies and public statements, unions are using tactics that seem pulled directly from the tea party playbook, such as appeals to follow the Constitution, heed the will of the Founding Fathers and protect the American way of life.

While slashing government spending is paramount to the tea party's ideology, maintaining or increasing state spending on pension and health benefits is at the crux of public workers' demands in New Jersey.

Unions are fighting tooth-and-nail against legislation that requires public workers to pay more for benefits and curbs their ability to bargain collectively for them. They're placing the blame for the state's budget predicament on politicians who didn't put enough tax dollars into the system to begin with.

"We all must continue to fight for our right to petition our government for redressive grievances. We all have a right to collective bargaining," said a woman impersonating Abigail Adams, the wife of the second president.

She wore an 18th century-style dress with white apron and cap as she joined about 200 protesters who arrived at Monday's rally after marching across a bridge from Pennsylvania to mark the "Second Battle of Trenton," a reference to the battle that followed George Washington's 1776 crossing of the Delaware River.

Clashes over collective bargaining rights for public workers have taken place across the country this year, most visibly in Wisconsin and Ohio. But in both of those states, Republicans control the governor's mansions and the legislatures, setting up a tussle between Democrat-backed unions and Republican politicians.

The dynamics are different in New Jersey, where Democrats control the Assembly and Senate. Republican Gov. Chris Christie cut a deal with Democratic legislative leaders, leaving labor scrambling for ways to avoid the appearance of having lost public opinion.

"It always makes sense to show even though you're protesting the system, the government, you want to identify as being patriotic," said Ben Dworkin, a political scientist at Rider University in Lawrenceville, N.J. "That it isn't that you're opposing the country, just the people who are running it."

The Gadsden flag, an anti-British symbol of the American Revolution that has become a staple at tea party rallies, has started appearing in New Jersey.

While legislators hold hearings on the benefits legislation, protesters outside chant "Kill the bill," a mantra used during tea party resistance to federal health care reform. (Union leaders point out it's been used before in many contexts.)

"Impersonation is the best form of flattery," said Steve Lonegan, director of Americans for Prosperity-New Jersey, which backs the tea party movement. "Because they really lack originality, they rip off the dynamics of the tea party movement."

Of course when these stooges are doing it it's simply an act. I guess they've finally figured out the public has had enough of their greed and endless temper tantrums. Of course while they now wrap themselves in the flag, anyone opposing them is un-American.

"Our members are patriotic Americans," Baker said. "They love the Constitution and are very concerned about what they see happening in New Jersey, because it comes across as very un-American."

I eagerly await an all-white liberal panel at MSNBC fulminating on the racial overtones and the glaring lack of melanin at these rallies.

Whistleblowers Attacked by Union Thugs: 'This Was Union Greed and That's Worse Than Corporate Greed'

These union goons get awfully touchy when exposed as the frauds they are, don't they? Just imagine what might happen if we had a Justice Department that was actually interested in justice.

Unionized phone company employees say they were beaten or threatened after they accused their labor bosses of looting their coffers through various scams.

One member of Communications Workers of America Local 1101 said that after he reported a time-sheet padding scheme, a thug beat him so badly his spine was injured.

Another says he found a dead rat in his locker, while a third said a union officer warned that suspected informants should be brought off company property and "taken care of."

The threats come to light as the U.S. Labor Department is probing charges that union bosses lined their pockets at the rank-and-file's expense.

Accusations include an unauthorized 401(k) plan union officers gave themselves funded with members' dues, along with hefty weekly allowances, lavish expense accounts and six-figure salaries, union documents show.

The feds are also looking into allegations that double-dipping union bosses illegally received pay from Verizon and the local for the same hours, sources said.

"This was union greed and that's worse than corporate greed," said Kevin Condy, a reform movement leader of the 6,700-member local that represents mostly Verizon workers in Manhattan and the Bronx. "These guys acted like they felt they were entitled."

And, some members charge, the bosses retaliated when threatened with exposure.

In August, business agent Patrick Gibbons said he received death threats and his office was vandalized after he complained that union bosses were misappropriating cash.

"They were warning me that if I continue to complain about their finances, they would have me killed," Gibbons wrote in an open letter to union members.

Six months earlier, Verizon heavy equipment operators Salvatore DiStefano and Sebastian Taravella sued the local in Brooklyn Federal Court.

They said they were harassed after telling Verizon security officials a manager allowed workers to leave early but claim a full day's pay - as long as they completed a quota of assigned jobs.

DiStefano told the Daily News he was "attacked by a union thug" as he started the morning shift at a Verizon garage in the Bronx in April 2009. "He pounded me with his fists, he spit on me, he choked me and threw me down to the floor," he said.

DiStefano said he suffered two herniated discs and had knee problems that required surgery. He got workers' compensation as a result, records show.

Taravella said a dead rat was put in his locker with "a note tied to his tail" that said "Rest in Peace, Sebbie."

The incidents came after a local vice president purportedly told members at a meeting, "We have to deal with these spies on a personal level, like take them ... off the company property and off company time and take care of them," the suit charged.

But they're all about working families or something. As long as they keep their mouths shut and don't upset their fiefdom.

Christie Calls Teachers Union 'Political Thugs'

Tell us something we don't know, Governor.

New Jersey's Gov. Chris Christie took another shot at his state's teachers today by describing their union leaders as "political thugs."

In an interview with ABC News anchor Diane Sawyer, Christie offered no apology for his often tough talk that has left some teachers feeling bruised. He also talked about the presidential possibilities of both himself and his "friend" Donald Trump, and criticism by Jersey rock icon Bruce Springsteen.

While sitting in the school library at Lincoln School in Kearney, N.J., Christie told Sawyer that it's essential for his state's education system to change and he blames the teachers union for the harsh cuts his administration is making, that includes layoffs and larger classrooms.

"I believe the teachers in New Jersey in the main are wonderful public servants that care deeply. But their union, their union are a group of political thugs," Christie said.

Typically, ABC failed to note union leaders have openly fantasized about his death.

Typical: Union Boss Blames Budget Cuts for Worker Negligence in Child's Death

I'd bet every last nickel I have that you could have given these two maggots six-figure salaries with lavish benefits and three months vacation and they still wouldn't have done their jobs. Whatever the case, their negligence contributed to the death of a Brooklyn child and the only reaction from their union boss is to blame alleged budget cuts. Hey, here's an idea: Why don't they hold a protest and blame all the Democrats running New York City?

Two former child welfare workers were indicted Wednesday in the death of a Brooklyn girl who was starved, beaten and drugged - the first such prosecution in city history.

Despite numerous warning signs, Administration for Children's Services caseworker Damon Adams never visited the Bedford-Stuyvesant home where 4-year-old Marchella Brett-Pierce was found dead in September, prosecutors said.

Adams, 36, is also accused of falsifying records after the girl died weighing just 18 pounds. Chereece Bell, 34, the caseworker's direct supervisor, was charged with failing to monitor his work.

"To say there was no failure here would just defy logic and common sense," Judge Patricia DiMango said in Brooklyn Criminal Court on Wednesday.

Adams and Bell pleaded not guilty to charges of criminally negligent homicide, official misconduct and endangering the welfare of a child.

Bell's bail was set at $25,000. Adams, who was hit with additional tampering and falsifying records charges, was ordered held on $35,000 bail.

"This child was wasting away," prosecutor Jacqueline Kagan said. Had the ACS workers done their job, "this child would have been removed" from the home, Kagan said.

Predictably, the union boss accepts zero responsibility.

Faye Moore, the head of the Social Service Employees Union, said ACS layoffs and program cuts have overburdened workers.

In a statement, ACS said the indictments "may have the opposite effect from what's intended because it may discourage excellent, idealistic individuals from taking" jobs as social workers.

They were so overburdened they never visited the home?

This is now at least five children dead due to negligence. At some point incompetence and laziness should be recognized as a factor, not budget cuts.

Maybe the city should consider privatizing ACS.

Update: This jerk Palmer, who represents a police union, has had his own run-in with the law.

The leader of the state's largest police union was cited for drunken driving last week after he left his apartment to help another union employee who had crashed her car into a shed, according to police reports obtained Monday.

James L. Palmer II, executive director of the Wisconsin Professional Police Association, faces one count of first offense driving while under the influence, a traffic violation akin to speeding. He issued a statement Monday saying he regrets his actions.

"I am ashamed at this deplorable exercise of poor judgment, and I accept total responsibility," he said. "I offer my sincere apology to my family, friends, members, and co-workers, and commit that this will never happen again."

According to State Patrol and Columbia County Sheriff's reports, WPPA Finance Director Jean O. Steinhauer missed a turn in southern Columbia County around 1:50 a.m. on Dec. 19. She drove across a driveway into a ditch and through a snowbank before she smashed into the shed, knocking it off its foundation.

Palmer was quite hammered.

The Wisconsin Professional Police Association's executive director has been charged with drunken driving.

Columbia County Sheriff's deputies say they found James L. Palmer II standing beside WPPA finance director Jean O. Steinhauer's car early on Dec. 19. The State Patrol says Steinhauer had rammed her car into a shed.

Palmer told a sheriff's deputy Steinhauer called him and told him she had gone off the road and he had driven out to the scene. Breath tests showed Palmer's blood alcohol content was 0.146 percent and Steinhauer's was 0.15 percent.

I blame the Democrats, Obama and their climate of hate. And the teachers for producing such illiteracy as evidenced by this. This should really endear the unions to your average American.

Ironically, Obama has pulled himself away from watching basketball long enough to lecture America on bullying today.

“Bullying can have destructive consequences for our young people,” Obama will tell about 150 students, parents, teachers and nonprofit leaders, according to an advance text of his remarks released by the White House. “And it’s not something we have to accept.”

Such words ring a bit hollow when his union supporters are threatening to kill people.

Unions and Shrieking Democrats Crushed in Wisconsin

It's a beautiful night, folks. The whining and caterwauling has hit new highs. Their tears taste delicious.

The Wisconsin Senate voted Wednesday night to strip nearly all collective bargaining rights from public workers, approving an explosive proposal that had rocked the state and unions nationwide after Republicans discovered a way to bypass the chamber's missing Democrats.

All 14 Senate Democrats fled to Illinois nearly three weeks ago, preventing the chamber from having enough members present to consider Gov. Scott Walker's "budget-repair bill" - a proposal introduced to plug a $137 million budget shortfall.

The Senate requires a quorum to take up any measures that spend money. But Republicans on Wednesday separated from the legislation the proposal to curtail union rights, which spends no money, and a special committee of lawmakers from both the Senate and Assembly approved the bill a short time later.

The unexpected yet surprisingly simple procedural move ended a stalemate that had threatened to drag on indefinitely. Until Wednesday's stunning vote, it appeared the standoff would persist until Democrats returned to Madison from their self-imposed exile.

"In 30 minutes, 18 state Senators undid 50 years of civil rights in Wisconsin. Their disrespect for the people of Wisconsin and their rights is an outrage that will never be forgotten," said Democratic Senate Minority Leader Mark Miller. "Tonight, 18 Senate Republicans conspired to take government away from the people."

The lone Democrat present on the special committee, Democratic Assembly Minority Leader Peter Barca, shouted that the meeting was a violation of the state's open meetings law. Republicans voted over his objections, and the Senate convened within minutes and passed the measure without discussion or debate.

"The gig is now up," Barca said. "The fraud on the people of Wisconsin is now clear."

The fraud was clear when the cowardly Fleebagger 14 fled the state.

They lost. Badly.

Obama's union thugs react predictably.

Said Neuenfeldt: "Republicans have exercised the nuclear option to ram through their bill attacking Wisconsin’s working families in the dark of night. (Gov.) Walker and the Republicans acted in violation of state open meetings laws, and tonight’s events have demonstrated they will do or say anything to pass their extreme agenda that attacks Wisconsin’s working families."

I haven't seen many of these folks working the last month. Those of us in the private sector who actually do work to support their lavish lifestyle have had enough.

Change: NJ Unions Thugs Suspended For 'Sick-Out'

We highlighted this heartless group of spoiled union punks yesterday. Three of them are now suspended. Let's hope the rest of these greedy, heartless bastards are held to account and those suspended are soon fired.

Three union workers who called out sick to attend a labor rally at the New Jersey Statehouse last week have been suspended.

The move comes a day after Gov. Christie told NBC New York in an interview that "people who call in sick better be sick." Christie issued his warning ahead of another labor rally that drew thousands on Thursday.

Monmouth County officials said the three employees suspended without pay Thursday work for the county's Senior Citizen Area Transportation service and are members of CWA Local 1038.

The county said the workers were among 14 in the department who called out sick; officials alleged that 174 developmentally disabled adults who depend on the county's services ended up "waiting for buses that never came."

"These employees are being suspended without pay based on the fact that we have evidence to prove that they were not home sick as they had claimed," said Lillian Burry, a county official.

State Sen. Joe Kyrillos (R-Monmouth), who first complained of a "sick-out," applauded officials for the suspension, noting some workers were "caught on camera" at last week's rally.

He wants officials to keep reviewing video to see "if others were absent without proper excuse."

Some lamestream media outlets are making hay of the fact Governor Christie has said he supports collective bargaining. They want want to read the fine print.

"In fact, I love collective bargaining," Christie told the audience. "We're ready to collectively bargain. Let's have it be real collective bargaining, where someone is in there representing the people who pay the bills."

I suspect today's suspensions have Christie's fingerprints all over them. If the unions think they have a pushover in Christie, I wish them luck.

“Anyone who shrugs and abandons their contracted responsibilities should receive the strongest discipline allowed, up to and including termination,” Freeholder Deputy Director John P. Curley said. “They are responsible for aspects of government that are mandatory in dealing with public health, safety and well being.”
