Advice to Mrs. Spitzer: Take the Kids and Run

It's not my advice, mind you, but her friends.

I'd suggest she bankrupt his sorry ass along the way.
She stood silently, stunned beside her husband, New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer, as he read a statement of apology to his family Monday afternoon following disclosure of what is believed to be his love tryst with a high-priced prostitute.

But the words failed to soothe Silda Wall Spitzer's closest friends, who advised her to take the kids and run.

"They were great together — fun, fabulous to be around. There was never even one small inkling of anything like this," one friend told the New York Daily News. "If I were her, I would call my mother or my best friend and pack my bags and go someplace far away for six months and take my daughters with me."

Another pal told the News she is "disgusted" Spitzer betrayed his wife of 20 years. "Oh, poor Silda. She is such a wonderful woman. I cannot even imagine this," the friend said.
Instead, Democrats and their nutroots supporters would probably prefer she stick around while her pathetic husband tries to cling to his job.

Meanwhile, the New York Post now reveals Spitzer has been soliciting hookers for at least six years (H/T LGF)
Gov. Eliot Spitzer has been soliciting high-priced hookers for at least six years and possibly for more than a decade, sources tell The Post.

The revelation yesterday that the crusading governor was in fact "Client 9" named in a federal prostitution indictment did not shock insiders in the city's sex industry.

Sources tell The Post that Spitzer had frequented high-priced hookers as far back as 2002 and possibly earlier.
Apparently his February 13 tryst with Kristing wasn't the first time either.
Spitzer apparently also knew the mystery prostitute identified as "Kristen" in court papers very well.

He may had as many as seven previous "dates" with the $1,000 an hour girl, newsday.com reported.
From the Newsday item.
New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer had at least seven or eight liaisons over the last several years with prostitutes supplied by an international call girl ring based in New Jersey, according to sources familiar with the investigation into Spitzer's relationship with the ring.

The liaisons between Spitzer and a number of different prostitutes occurred around the country, including in Washington, D.C., and Florida, the sources said. For each encounter, Spitzer paid several thousand dollars, the sources said.

The circumstances of Spitzer's alleged dealing with the ring were uncovered by agents from the IRS Criminal Investigation Division and the FBI, tracing the flow of money from Spitzer's bank accounts to business fronts for the ring -- advertised on the Internet as the Emperor's Club -- conversations overhead on wiretaps, the governor's travel records, and informants who worked for the ring.
OK, raise their hands all of you who think it's a good idea for him to stick around?
