Saudi Oil Ticks Footing the Tab for Gaza Reconstruction

They're in solidarity with the the Hamas terror gang, apparently.
Saudi Arabia will pay for the reconstruction of all buildings demolished in Gaza by Israel during last week's deadly incursions in which more than 130 Palestinians were killed.

Saudi Health Minister Hamad Al-Manie said in comments published on Friday that King Abdullah had ordered the reconstruction as part of the kingdom's support for the Palestinian people and their cause.

"The king has ordered the reconstruction of Palestinian houses at the expense of the Saudi government," Al-Manie said during a press conference in Egypt on Thursday, quoted Arabic daily Al-Jazirah.
Their cause, of course, being the destruction of Israel.

Their support for Hamas belies this claim that a leading cleric warns against supporting al Qaeda.
A leading cleric has urged Saudi Arabians not to give money to charities and organisations which finance ‘evil,’ it was reported on Saturday.

Citizens should be wary of donating funds to parties with “shabby reputations or unknown backing,” Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul-Aziz Abdullah Al-Sheikh warned in a statement carried by the Al-Okaz daily, reported by newswire Dow Jones.

It’s even worse to give it to an organisation that’s known for its evil and for hurting Islam and its followers,” he added.
That's all well and good, if it's to be believed.

And I have serious doubts about that.
Despite government efforts to crack down on the group, individuals continue to support it and allied organisations through private donations to Islamic charities, the report said, with some US lawmakers insisting that oil money from the Royal Family itself had been diverted into charities supporting terrorist activity.
