Suspected killer of Auburn co-ed arrested

This girl is dead.

This man did it.

Now his mom has apologized.

And is attempting to give him an excuse.
Catherine Williams says she's having a hard time dealing with the fact that her son is accused of so many Crimes, especially the murder of a young college student. “I never thought Courtney would do this, never thought. But i am sorry for that family, I'm sorry. I've got nothing else to say. I'm just sorry for the loss of that family” Williams said. Courtney Lockhart grew Up in Lee County and graduated From Smiths Station High School Wiliams told the television station that her son hasn't been the same after serving 16 months in Iraq. She says her son had been living with her in Smiths Station, Alabama, since returning from the war. In 2003. A source tells news three that lockhart spent three years in the Army and was dishonorably discharged after punching his sergeant. Lockhart is in the Russell County Jail.
Those other robberies by the way.
Columbus police said Friday that Lockhart was also a suspect in the Thursday robbery of a 27-year-old woman with her 3-year-old child in the parking lot of Sam's Club, 5448-A Whittlesey Blvd. The man demanded the woman's purse at gunpoint before driving off in a silver two-door Honda or Toyota with an Alabama license plate, police said.

Lockhart was wanted by Columbus police for robbery and aggravated assault of a child, but it is doubtful that he will ever be tried on those charges. He is held in the Russell County jail on charges of first degree robbery, with bond set at $250,000.
More details.
The man put a gun to the head of a 3-year-old child Thursday in Sam's Club parking lot, 5448-A Whittlesey Blvd., and demanded the mother's purse, police said. Lt. Steve Cox said the man pulled up in a silver, two-door vehicle, jumped out and went to the woman's shopping cart, where he pulled a silver pistol and held it on the child. The 27-year-old woman handed over the purse containing an undisclosed amount of cash, her identification cards and other items.
An elderly woman.
Police in Newnan said they had issued a lookout for Lockhart's Sebring after an elderly woman was robbed outside a WalMart just off I-85 near the Coweta County city.

Newnan police said 72-year-old Marjorie Llewellyn of Newnan was pistol-whipped and briefly kidnapped at gunpoint during an armed robbery and attempted carjacking earlier in the day, the Newnan Times-Herald reported. The incident took place shortly before 10 a.m. Friday.

So this guy preys on the elderly, the defenseless and those he knows offer no or little resistance and I am expected to believe it is somehow because of his service in the military. I haven't been able to run down information on what unit he served with and whether or not he was reserve or active duty, although he sounds active duty. I am sure some intrepid reporternwill track down some high school classmates of his or folks from his unit to interview. Since juvenile records are not released to recruiters in AL I bet these interviews will reveal that this scum was no different after serving then he was before.

I pray the prosecutors will not allow this PTSD defense to go unchallenged. It is not a defense.
