This is really taking your love of beer to your grave.
So you think Canadians love their beer? Well, they haven't got anything on a Chicago man named Bill Bramanti. He's so in love with the suds that he's dying to prove it. And when the grim reaper finally does catch up to the still young 67-year-old, he'll toast his presence with a bizarre final nightcap. Thanks to Hot Air for the link!
Bramanti has not only pre-arranged his own funeral, he's going out his way - in a casket shaped like a beer can. The Illinois drinker held a bizarre party Saturday night with a select group of friends, stocking his newly delivered and somewhat expensive custom made coffin with his favourite beverage, Pabst Blue Ribbon beer.
His final resting place is silver, like a can, and has the Pabst colours of red, white and blue across it. While the new owner of the strange artifact hopes it's a long time before he'll be sealed inside the container, he's practicing his living philosophy that leaves out the 'eat' and goes straight to the 'drink and be merry' stage.
Incredibly his family is going along with the insanity. "Why put such a great novelty piece up on a shelf in storage when you could use it only the way Bill Bramanti would use it?" his 42-year-old daughter Cathy explains of the somewhat macabre fake wake.
It's still not clear how much the coffin will wind up costing Bramanti, but the artwork alone is in excess of US$2,000. Still, the eccentric owner is pleased with his purchase, which will eventually keep him as a cold one for millennia to come.
