Stan Friedman captured his second straight title Friday in the Ultimate Couch Potato Competition, spending nearly 19 hours reclining in front of the TV.
Friedman, 47, a research librarian for Conde Nast, outlasted three challengers to defend his crown at the second annual showdown in the ESPN Zone.
The Manhattan resident spent a laid back 18 hours, 48 minutes and 18 seconds in a recliner facing dozens of televisions inside the Times Square restaurant.

American Idle: Couch Potato King Successfully Defends Title
Heck, had I known there was a contest I could probably give this guy a run for his money. Guess that's a poor choice of words. A sit for his money? Between the Twilight Zone and Honeymooners marathons yesterday I also managed to squeeze in a few football games, though I didn't last 19 hours in the recliner.
