Beheading Is Crazy, Unless You're a Muslim

In yet another example of the double standards of the times we live in, a part-time actor who beheaded his mother and was arrested has been sent for psychiatric evaluation. When was the last time you heard of psychiatric evaluations of followers of the most infamous religion known for head chopping?
When cops arrived to the scene around 2:20 AM, officers say Brea was clutching the bible. Cops ultimately had to use a taser to subdue the actor. Brea was taken to a nearby hospital for a psychiatric evaluation with a police escort.
I guess not enough Christians have cut off enough heads for it to be considered normal behavior. God help us if all of sudden the brain trust at the Department of Justice decide to order psyche evaluations for the Club Gitmo guests. Don't you dare insinuate that a follower of the Religion of Peace® is crazy. CAIR would have you on a spit over an open flame so fast you wouldn't even have time to let the words finish echoing.

I guess those folks clutching a Bible and a gun aren't the big threat after all.

And They Want To Build A Mosque at the 9/11 Site...

For anybody who still doesn't get it, here is a gentle reminder of how Christians are treated in areas which fall under the influence of the Islamic regime from the country that Barry O spent some of his youth in.

After a series of protests by local extremist Islamic groups, the city decided to close the church and suspend the GKI despite the fact that the Christian group had all the necessary permits to build its church and practice its faith.

For some time, local Islamic groups had been protesting publicly and violently against Christians, accusing them of “proselytising”. They are certainly opposed to Christians having any building, even if the latter did not have a religious purpose.

Islam isn't a religion, it is a totalitarian regime which hides behind a veneer of religion to push it's goal of global conquest and a return to the good old days of the 9th Century Dark Ages.

In related news, an Atlanta suburb just denied the expansion of an Islamic center, which, of course, has all those good peace loving Muslim foot soldiers pitching a hissy fit.

Religious Tolerance on Display: Muslim Mob Stones Christians

While we're constantly seeing purported efforts at Muslim and Christian dialogue and understanding, the tolerance only seems to be coming from one side, and it isn't from the Muslims.

Case in point: Muslim Mob Stones Christians in Eastern Ethiopia
A mob of Islamic extremists stoned Seid Ahmed and Musa Ibrahim [names changed for security reasons] in Jijiga, a city on border with Somalia. The attack is the latest attack against Christians in Ethiopia where the spread of radical Islam is fueling the persecution of Christians.

ICC (International Christian Concern) www.persecution.org says that on July 19, 2008, Ahmed and Ibrahim were going to a church meeting when they were confronted by nine extremist Muslims yelling anti-Christian slogans. The extremists started hurling rocks at the two Christians.

Ahmed, who is a church leader, was hit by eight stones and suffered a severe concussion and injuries on his torso. He was admitted to Karamara Hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

Ibrahim escaped physical harm as he fled the scene to call the police who never arrived to stop the attack. The mob finally dispersed when Ibrahim ran in the direction of the local police station.

ICC says that Jijiga is the capital city of Somali Regional State, which is one of nine states in Ethiopia. The majority of residents in Somali State are ethnic Somalis who are majority Muslim.

According to ICC, this is not the first time that Christians have been attacked in Jijiga. On August 5, 2007, the Ethiopian Full Gospel Church in Jijiga was bombed. Though the church was packed with five hundred people, no one was hurt by the explosion. The same church was attacked by bomb five years earlier.

ICC's Regional Manager for Africa, Jonathan Racho, said, "Unless the growth of radical Islam is curbed in Ethiopia, the attacks against Christians will continue to rise. Ethiopian government officials, particularly local officials in Muslim dominated areas of the country, should be made accountable for failing to protect Christians against such attacks."
You suppose this will be addressed at Yale?

Sure. And I have a nice tract of oceanfront property in Wyoming for you.

Via Jihad Watch.

Oh, and as for the Yale confab, get this:
The 29-page letter that Muslim clerics from the major sects sent to Christian churches said "the future of the world depends on peace between Muslims and Christians." It invited Christians to join with them on the basis of "what is common to us and most essential to our faith and practice: the Two Commandments" – love for God and love for one's neighbor.
Translation: Submit or die.

Christians Get Green Light to Riot

I mean that's what Muslims would do if the same thing was done to their terrorists handbook, er, holy book. We can't have one set of standards for one group of people and another for a separate group.

So Christians rejoice, you are now free to overturn cars and burn them, threaten various infidels with death, issue whatever holy rulings you want and I guess the president of Israel now owes a big, fat, juicy apology to the Pope or something like that.

I take this for what it is, a group of overzealous religious fanatics trying to grab attention. I am hurt by their actions but not so much offended. What this does do though is for the common person who does not know the difference between an Orthodox Jew and your run of mill adherent of the Jewish faith is give them cause to wonder if all Jews are this way. I am not Jewish, but I know many so speaking from personal experience, not all Jews are not this way and in fact very few of them are.

Hindus Attack Churches on Christmas

No honest. There was a clash between Hindus and Christians in India.
NEW DELHI (Map, News) - Hindu extremists attacked Christians celebrating Christmas in eastern India, ransacking and burning at least six village churches, officials said Wednesday. One person was killed in the violence.

Authorities in the remote district where the churches were attacked have deployed 450 police to quell the violence, which had tapered off by Wednesday, said Bahugrahi Mahapatra, a government official.
The Christians don't sound completely innocent according to this report.
"The situation was aggravated by some Christians forcibly stopping the 80-year-old Hindu leader Laxmanananda Saraswati and attempting to attack him," said Giriraj Kishore of the VHP.

"When they were prevented from attacking him by his followers the Christians hit someone with an ax and one Hindu died," he told reporters in New Delhi
Interesting law.
Orissa, in fact, is the only Indian state that has a law requiring people to obtain police permission before they change their religion, a move designed to counter missionary work.
I am sure that will give the lefties all the ammunition they need for another 6 months to act like good dhimmis and say see it ain't only Muslims!

Gaza Christians Laying Low

We noted earlier how some Christians were returning to Baghdad and were finding a more tolerant atmosphere this Christmas.

The same can't be said about Christians in Gaza.

Shocking, isn't it?
Gaza's tiny Christian community is keeping a low profile this Christmas, traumatized by the killing of a prominent activist in the wake of Hamas' takeover of the coastal territory.

Few Christmas trees are on display, churches are holding austere services and hundreds of Christians hope to travel to the moderate-controlled West Bank to celebrate the holiday in Bethlehem. Many say they don't plan on returning to Gaza.
Who can blame them?
"We have a very sad Christmas," said Essam Farah, acting pastor of Gaza's Baptist Church, which has canceled its annual children's party because of the grim atmosphere.

About 3,000 Christians live in Gaza, an overwhelmingly conservative Muslim territory of 1.5 million people. It has been virtually cut off from the world and its residents driven deeper into poverty since the June takeover by Hamas, which is considered a terrorist organization by Israel and the United States.

Christians and Muslims have generally had cordial relations over the years in Gaza, but that relationship has been shaky since Hamas seized control and tensions were exacerbated with the recent death of 32-year-old Rami Ayyad.

Ayyad, a member of the Baptist Church, managed Gaza's only Christian bookstore. In early October, he was found shot in the head, his body thrown on a Gaza street 10 hours after he was kidnapped from the store.

He regularly received death threats from people angry about his perceived missionary work — a rarity among Gaza's Christians — and the store was firebombed six months before the kidnapping.

No group claimed responsibility for the killing, and no one has openly accused Hamas of persecution. But Christians fear that the Hamas takeover, along with the lack of progress in finding Ayyad's killers, has emboldened Islamic extremists.
You think?

I guess the conservative Muslims aren't very tolerant. Who would have thought?

Tell It To The Islamists

Excuse me if I'm just a bit skeptical about this call for "peace" from Muslim "scholars" supposedly reaching out to Christians.

How about laying down your arms, acknowledging Israel, and stop killing people in the name of your religion?

Then maybe we can have some dialogue.

Unprecedented Muslim call for peace with Christians
More than 130 Muslim scholars from around the globe called on Thursday for peace and understanding between Islam and Christianity, saying "the very survival of the world itself is perhaps at stake".

In an unprecedented letter to Pope Benedict and other Christian leaders, 138 Muslim scholars said finding common ground between the world's biggest faiths was not simply a matter for polite dialogue between religious leaders.

"If Muslims and Christians are not at peace, the world cannot be at peace. With the terrible weaponry of the modern world; with Muslims and Christians intertwined everywhere as never before, no side can unilaterally win a conflict between more than half of the world's inhabitants," the scholars wrote.

"Our common future is at stake. The very survival of the world itself is perhaps at stake," they wrote, adding that Islam and Christianity already agreed that love of God and neighbour were the two most important commandments of their faiths.

Relations between Muslims and Christians have been strained as al Qaeda has struck around the world and as the United States and other Western countries intervened in Iraq and Afghanistan.
More like relations between Muslims and the civilized world have been strained,

Not just Christians. How about letting Israelis live in peace? Doesn't seem to be any mention of that.
Aref Ali Nayed, one of the signatories and a senior adviser to the Cambridge Interfaith Programme at Cambridge University in Britain, said the signatories represented the "99.9 percent of Muslims" who follow mainstream schools and oppose extremism.

"In Islam we have had a problem for some time now where the mainstream voices are drowned out by a minority that choose violence," he said.

Nayed said organisers of the letter had set up an ad hoc network among Muslim leaders that could lead to more cooperation in future.

"These people don't take their signatures lightly," he said. "We are trying to institutionalise this so we don't lose it."

The overture to Christians could be followed by similar letters addressed to Jews or secularists, he added.
We'll believe that when we see it.

Until then, control your own end and let us live in peace. We're not the ones blowing people up and chopping off heads.

Muslims, Christians Brawl in Egypt

Seems the Day of Peace didn't have any lingering effects.

Apparently, Muslims in Egypt can't handle their women commingling with Christians.

Maybe if they weren't so pissed off all the time, they too could get a little action.

Nine injured, 25 held after Egypt sectarian brawl
Nine people were injured in a brawl between Muslims and Christians in the Egyptian port city of Alexandria, police sources said on Saturday. Twenty five people were detained.

The fighting began late on Friday after a group of Muslim youths exchanged words with a Christian man taking a Muslim woman into his flat in the Sidi Bishr district, they said.

The two sides, throwing stones and bottles, called in reinforcements. The fighting disrupted traffic and six cars were damaged by projectiles, the sources said.

Eight of the detainees are Muslims and 17 are Christians, all of them local people.

Relations are generally good between Egyptian Muslims and the Christian minority, which accounts for up to 10 percent of the population. But disputes over young women and building churches sometimes lead to sectarian violence.

Christian Library Bombed in Gaza

I'm sure Israel will be blamed somehow. Glad to see that security plan is working wonders (Via Weasel Zippers).

Bombers target Gaza City Christian library, internet cafe
Gaza City - Unknown assailants bombed a Christian library and an internet cafe in Gaza City early Sunday morning, hours after the Palestinian government approved a new security plan to end violence and anarchy in the Palestinian areas.

Security officials said the bombings were separate incidents, with the Holy Book library, belonging to Gaza's tiny Christian community, the first to be targeted.

The explosions caused 'severe' damage to both the library and the building housing it, Holy Book librarian Rami Ayad, told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa.

Less than two hours after the first bombing, another explosion hit an empty internet cafe in downtown Gaza City, causing damage to some computers and to a car parked outside.

There were no reports of injuries and no immediate claim of responsibility, but a new Islamic extremist group, calling itself Swords of Islamic Righteousness, claimed responsibility for two similar bombings in the past.

More Stupidity in New Jersey

Michelle Malkin notes the ridiculous decision by a New Jersey high school to conduct a terrorism drill. What's so ridiculous about it? Read on.
Last month, New Jersey's Burlington Township High School held a mock terrorism drill. "You perform as you practice," Superintendent Chris Manno told the Burlington County Times. "We need to practice under conditions as real as possible in order to evaluate our procedures and plans so that they're as effective as possible."

But the "real as possible" conditions included no bomb-vest-donning jihadists shouting "Allahu Akbar." No red bandana-wearing martyrs with visions of 72 virgins dancing in their evil heads. No America-hating plotters enraged by Israel's existence or driven to establish a worldwide caliphate.

Nope. Two local police detectives took on the role of hostage-taking Christian gunmen. According to the paper, "Investigators described them as members of a right-wing fundamentalist group called the 'New Crusaders' who don't believe in separation of church and state. The mock gunmen went to the school seeking justice because the daughter of one had been expelled for praying before class."
I guess they were so afraid to offend anyone. So they decided to offend the majority of people in this country.

Idiots.

Delusional Dean Plans Takeover

Acting President Howard Dean reveals he's been sneaking around meeting with world leaders, though he's not naming names.

Apparently he's unaware we already have a President in place.
Democratic Party Chairman Howard Dean has been meeting with world leaders to repair "the extraordinary damage" that the Bush administration has done to America's image and to prepare the way for a new Democratic president.

"I am trying to build relationships with other governments in preparation for a Democratic takeover," Dean told me. "I want to make clear that there is an opposition in America and that we are ready to take power and that when we do, we are going to have much better relationships with them."

In an hour-long interview at Democratic National Committee headquarters Tuesday, Dean also revealed that he has been quietly meeting with well-known Christian evangelical leaders in order to build new bridges between them and the Democratic Party.
Hmm. Meeting with Christians? Has he cleared this with the religion-hating extremists that comprise the bulk of his party?

I wonder how well it would have gone over had Haley Barbour been sneaking around with world leaders while Bill Clinton was President?

Democrats Pretend to Find Religion

It's always amusing to see Democrats finding God during campaign season, especially when they try the delicate balancing act of pandering to the far-left anti-Christian lunatics while pretending to have a deeply religious core.

In the Opinion Journal today, Mary Eberstadt has Curse of the Christian Bashers, an interesting insight into the phenomenon of candidates who normally eschew religious values who now come courting those evil Christians they frequently insult.
Heavens, it's getting crowded in the pews these days--at least with Democratic presidential candidates. Here is Sen. Barack Obama in California's Saddleback pulpit at the invitation of mega-selling pastor Rick Warren. There is Sen. Hillary Clinton with downcast eyes in Newsweek, praying before the cameras in New York's Riverside Church. And there preaches John Edwards, also in Riverside Church, weaving his personal faith into everything from AIDS to the minimum wage. Clearly the push is on to show that, for now anyway, the Democratic hopefuls are just plain folks in the religion department.

All the more reason to plumb the curious episode of Amanda Marcotte, that blogger for the Edwards campaign who resigned on Monday and was followed out the door Tuesday by another technical consultant, Melissa McEwan. Both quit thanks to circulation by conservatives of some of these former staffers' Internet musings. That is to say, in Ms. Marcotte's case especially: scatological Catholic-baiting rants about "theocracy" marked by leering references to the pope and liberal use of the F-word.

So far, so unremarkable. Just being a bilious feminist with a potty mouth doesn't much distinguish one in the blogosphere these days. What does matter is something else: We have here a Rosencrantz and Guildenstern moment, in which the fate of bit players becomes emblematic of a larger drama.

For what the blogger tempest really illuminates is a fact that could come to haunt the Democrats as they vie for national office: namely, that their past few wilderness years have also been boom years for the church-loathing liberal/left punditry. As a result, anti-Christian invective now graces (or disgraces) many of the books, magazines, Web sites and blogs to which liberals, including the Democratic elite, habitually look for ideas. One motto of this cottage industry is that the most serious threat to the American republic can be found in, no, not those religious fundamentalists, the ones that first leap to mind after 9/11; but, incredibly, certain other believers--our nation's Christians.
Read it all.
