An American-Murdering Dictator Turns To His Friends

The once arrogant dictator of terrorist-sponsoring state of Libya is presumably on the run and like all dictators before him probably hiding in a hole somewhere in the desert, but he still managed to get word out to his friends in the United States in an attempt to get out of the country with his head still attached. So who does he reach out to? Why none other then that wonderful, progressive, Department of Peace advocate, Dennis Kucinich (D-Land of Oz).

Rep. Dennis Kucinich, who has been one of the most outspoken critics of the Obama administration's military intervention in Libya, confirmed Friday that he was invited to visit the North African nation in an attempt to end months-long conflict between the Qaddafi regime and the rebel forces who have been aided by NATO air strikes.

The Guardian first reported that the Qaddafi regime offered Ohio Democrat an all-expense paid trip Tripoli as part of a hastily arranged “peace mission.”

When the enemies of your country are reaching out to certain people in a desperate plea for help it tells you two things. One is that they have a friendship that obviously spans the years, and two, when a bloodthirsty American-murdering dictator reaches out to somebody it's somebody who probably ought to be on a terrorist watch list and not an elected member of Congress.

But don't fear, Dennis has friends in other places. Like Syria.

But Kucinich, who was worried about security, declined the offer and visited Syria instead.

So Dennis, besides working tirelessly for years to get rid of the United States military, cavorting with known terrorists and brutal dictators, just what have you done to make us safer, or were you hoping to one day pull a Bashir and become leader of your own little kingdom?

That was one stellar class of presidential hopefuls the Democrats fielded in 2008. John Edwards, the womanizing good hair playboy who ditches his terminally-ill wife to father babies; Kucinich, who sucks up to Middle Eastern dictators who just happen to have him on speed dial, and, of course, the degenerate who wound up winning and thereby turning the rest of us into losers. I guess if you are all about the destruction of the United States you just keep on voting Democrat.

Crackpot Kucinich: Legalizing Marijuana is Like the Arab Spring or Something

Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) spoke at Seattle's "Hempfest" festival this weekend, equating the push for marijuana legalization to the civil rights movement and democratic uprisings in the Middle East.

“Open America! Show yourself! Time for mass action! This is why, and how, recent movements for freedom in Tunisia and Egypt gained momentum,” Kucinich said Saturday. “This is how Gandhi cast off the British Empire. This is how America’s suffragettes gained for women the right to vote. This is how Dr. Martin Luther King’s March on Washington became a pivotal moment in the civil rights history of this country.”

Gandhi, Martin Luther King, the right to vote, and the right to blow doobies. Sure, the comparisons are obvious.

Kucinich went on to advocate "hospitalization, not incarceration" for those with drug problems, and repeatedly invoked King's "we will overcome" refrain.

"Let your voice once again cause America to march, let your voice once again cause America sing, let your voice once again cause America to seek new freedoms," he said.

Olive Pit - 1, Dennis Kucinich - Nice Try

Well, it certainly didn't take long for Dennis Kucinich to fold like a cheap suit.

The saga of the dangerous olive pit-filled sandwich seems to be winding down. Rep. Dennis Kucinich, who has a long track record of getting what he wants in life -- be it a hot young vegetarian wife or money for a treacherous meal -- has settled his case against the Longworth House Office Building cafeteria, which served him a sandwich that split his tooth in half.

He announced the development in a statement detailing his dental heroism.

"Although the pain was excruciating, I shook it off and I went right back to work," he writes in the press release. He also clarifies that "this was not about aesthetics" and shares lots of cringe-inducing tidbits about the resulting infection, which went all the way to the bone, ultimately requiring the replacement of six teeth (not covered by health insurance).

Unfortunately for Kucinich, C-SPAN now maintains an extensive, searchable on-line video archive. And lo and behold, here we have footage of the shameless demagogue on April 22, 2008 - just five days after the incident. You won't see much pain, suffering, or "loss of enjoyment" here - just 90 seconds of buffoonish Big Oil-bashing.

No wonder he settled.

Going to the Pits: Dennis Kucinich Sues Over Bad Sandwich Wrap Experience

Strange man chews on a pit in sandwich wrap, suffers "loss of enjoyment" in his life, seeks $150,000 payday. Normally, he'd probably be laughed out of court. But in this case it's gadfly Democrat Dennis Kucinich, so why am I not surprised?

It's the pits to break a tooth while eating. Just ask Rep. Dennis Kucinich.

The Ohio Democratic representative is suing House cafeteria service providers for $150,000 for allegedly selling him a sandwich wrap with a stray olive pit in it.

Kucinich, who ran for president in 2008, said in a Jan. 3 lawsuit filed in the Superior Court for the District of Columbia that the pit caused "serious and permanent" damage to his mouth and wellbeing.

He said he is entitled to recover damages, "including but not limited to past and future dental and medical expenses, compensation for pain, suffering and loss of enjoyment and other damage."

Considering he gets what's probably one of those "Cadillac" dental and health plans since he lives on the public dole, wouldn't his expenses have already been paid? Probably, but it's the humiliation and pain he's suffered, so someone's got to pay.

The suit claims the sandwich wrap in question was purchased "on or about April 17, 2008."

"Said sandwich wrap was unwholesome and unfit for human consumption in that it was represented to contain pitted olives, yet unknown to plaintiff contained an unpitted olive or olives which plaintiff did not reasonably expect to be in the food prepared for him, and could not visually detect prior to consumption," the lawsuit reads.

Kucinich, who as a member of Congress receives dental coverage among the health care insurance he is entitled to receive, alleged in the suit that as a result of his consumption of the unwholesome and unfit food, the plaintiff "sustained serious and permanent dental and oral injuries requiring multiple surgical and dental procedures, and has sustained other damages as well, including significant pain, suffering and loss of enjoyment."

It's not often I find myself in agreement with kooky Congressman Dennis Kucinich, but he's dead right in this case.

Two members of the House of Representatives are demanding that the Mets scrap their $400-million naming-rights deal with financially troubled Citigroup because of the bank's receipt of federal bailout money.

Reps. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) and Ted Poe (R-Texas) sent a letter to Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner requesting he "dissolve" the contract with the Mets to name their stadium Citi Field. The Mets' home opener there is set for April 13.

In an interview yesterday, Kucinich said the financial behemoth is in no position to lay out cash to have its name on the Queens stadium. "It's just totally unacceptable that Citigroup should be able to spend $400 million in naming rights when they're the recipients of a massive federal bailout," he said.

Kucinich and Poe wrote that Citigroup's financial footing "has changed drastically" since the naming rights deal was struck in 2006. The agreement calls for Citigroup to pay $400 million over 20 years for the naming rights.

The Mets "are fully committed to our contract with Citigroup," said Jay Horowitz, the team's spokesman.

This will be a never-ending PR disaster for the Mets.

Free Press Moron: Hey, Let's Impeach Bush Now

Something named Rochelle Riley, who I'll assume suffers from raging Bush Derangement Syndrome, thinks now is a good time to impeach George W. Bush.

Does this idiot realize his term is up in less than two months?

Pelosi wouldn’t have to start from scratch: Rep. Dennis Kucinich, the bravest member of Congress, introduced legislation 11 months ago to impeach the president and vice president. Last January, the House gave a first reading of one of those articles of impeachment. Our own Rep. John Conyers, chair of the House Judiciary Committee, joined 38 other representatives to sponsor HR 635, which would form a committee to look into whether there are grounds for impeachment. Revive that effort!

Last week, Rep. Jerrold Nadler, D-New York, submitted a resolution demanding that Bush stop issuing “pre-emptive pardons of senior officials in his administration during the final 90 days of office.”

Anyone outside the districts of Kucinich and Nadler who pays the slightest attention to those oddballs should really consider psychiatirc help.

The only question remaining is this: Who's dumber? Riley or Gail Collins?

Kooky Kucinich Headlines Protest at Fort Benning

Always nice to see a presidential candidate protesting the military. This should really burnish his street cred with the nutroots wing of the Democrat Party.

COLUMBUS, Ga. - Democratic presidential hopeful Dennis Kucinich said Sunday the thinking that went into producing an Army school blamed for human rights abuses in Latin America was the same that led the U.S. to war in Iraq and could cause it to raid Iran.

Kucinich was speaking at the 18th annual protest of the school at Fort Benning that trains Latin American soldiers, police and government officials. One of his first acts as president if elected would be to close the school, he said.

I don't think anyone should make plans for the closing.

"The type of thinking that produced this school is the same type of thinking that produced the war in Iraq and is producing a war against Iran," Kucinich said. The Ohio congressman and former Cleveland mayor was addressing a crowd estimated by local police to number roughly 10,000.

More sound thinking from the pipsqueak. Nothing like being unprepared in case Iran attacks our interests.

The protests outside the gate to the military installation are timed to commemorate six Jesuit priests who were killed along with their housekeeper and her daughter in El Salvador on Nov. 19, 1989. Some of those who killed them had attended the School of the Americas.

The military has acknowledged that some graduates committed crimes after attending the School of the Americas, but has said in the past that no cause-and-effect relationship has ever been established.

The new Western Hemisphere Institute has mandatory human rights courses, but the demonstrators contend changes at the school are only cosmetic.

Fort Benning spokeswoman Monica Manganaro said the protesters are "spectacularly misinformed."

That's an understatement.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, normal people who support our military showed up by the thousands at Fort Benning.

It was OK to hug or even kiss a complete stranger in the middle of the street on Saturday -- as long as that person was a member of the U.S. military.

This year's God Bless Fort Benning, a day of appreciation for soldiers, was held in downtown Columbus with many groups displaying random acts of kindness. The event attracted more than 20,000 people, including about 9,800 Army trainees and 2,000 officers.

Members of the armed forces were offered free movies, food and telephone calls to anywhere in the United States. Amid the food vendors and stages set for musical acts, local residents shouted thank yous from across the street and hugged and shook the hands of Fort Benning soldiers roaming downtown.

"Hug a soldier right now," event co-founder Eve Tidwell demanded of the crowd gathered around the main stage on the 1100 block of Broadway. "Bikers, you better get a hold of a soldier... I swear even if there's protesters out there -- y'all hug soldiers, because they gave you the right to protest."

Thousands of protesters will gather in front of Fort Benning this weekend, just as they have for the last 18 years, to demand the closing of an Army school that trains Latin American military officers.

And look who is going to be the guest of honor? Now remember he wants to be Commander in Chief. Is this how you want your President to act? It would be kind of hard to go to the generals at the Pentagon and ask them for anything, doncha think?

Meanwhile, a crowd of more than 20,000 is expected to gather Saturday in downtown Columbus for the annual God Bless Fort Benning festival, featuring radio personality Dr. Laura Schlessinger. The event celebrates the fort's role in the community.

I spent some time at Ft Benning, 2 different occasions in fact, and at no time did the protests against the School of the Americas ever number more then about a 100. The biggest nuisance is that the gate they gather at to conduct their little whine fest is the one leading to the housing areas, so families are more affected by this then the soldiers or the folks on the post. It is on a side road leading to the base and unless you stumble on it by accident you would never know those folks were there. The other funny part is the folks aren't there early in the morning. We used to run that way as part of our PT (Physical Training) in the mornings and you know I just don't recall seeing those people there at oh dark thirty in the morning. Now if some intrepid camera crew had stayed to cover I am sure they would have played it up.
Oh another interesting bit of news regarding Laura Schlessinger.

"I can't think of a better way to spend Saturday than thanking our troops and their families for their sacrifice," said Schlessinger, whose 22-year-old son - a specialist with the Army's 82nd Airborne Division - is currently serving in Afghanistan. "Besides, it will be a heck of a lot of fun."

Kucinich questions Bush's mental health

PHILADELPHIA - Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich questioned President Bush's mental health in light of comments he made about a nuclear Iran precipitating World War III.

"I seriously believe we have to start asking questions about his mental health," Kucinich, an Ohio congressman, said in an interview with The Philadelphia Inquirer's editorial board on Tuesday. "There's something wrong. He does not seem to understand his words have real impact."

Kucinich, known for his liberal views, trails far behind the leading candidates in most Democratic polls. He was in Philadelphia for a debate at Drexel University.

Bush made the remarks at a news conference earlier this month.

He said: "I've told people that if you're interested in avoiding World War III, it seems like you ought to be interested in preventing them (Iran) from having the knowledge necessary to make a nuclear weapon."

Kucinich said he doesn't believe his comments about the president's mental health are irresponsible, according to a story posted on the newspaper's Web site.

"You cannot be a president of the United States who's wanton in his expression of violence," Kucinich said. "There's a lot of people who need care. He might be one of them. If there isn't something wrong with him, then there's something wrong with us. This, to me, is a very serious question."

Howard Dean to appear at Morongo presidential forum

Former Vermont governor and one-time presidential candidate Howard Dean will join American Indian leaders for a historic presidential forum for democratic candidates today at the Morongo Band of Mission Indians Casino Resort and Spa in Cabazon.

The event, which will feature three of the eight Democratic presidential candidates -- New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, Ohio Rep. Dennis Kucinich and former Alaska Sen. Mike Gravel -- is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. at the tribal conference center.

All three substantially trail Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., the front-runner in the race for the Democratic nomination, and Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., second in the polls.

Dean also will attend today’s event and host a reception for tribal leaders following the forum.

Many of the democratic frontrunners declined to attend the forum because of scheduling conflicts, according to organizer Kalyn Free, a Choctaw from Oklahoma, who said Indian country was still “excited” about the event.

Be sure and stay excited. When it's convenient for them, you-know-who will stop by just long enough to grab a few bags of "love gifts". Just make sure that they're stuffed full, then bend over and kiss your ass good-bye because that is the only concern for Native Americans -- your money into their pockets.

When she declared, "The American military has done its job," boos began to be heard around the room. As the boos increased, Sen. Clinton raised her voice. "The American military has succeeded," she said, to more boos. "It is the Iraqi government that has failed to make the tough decisions." Still more boos.

Apparently, Dennis Kucinich went over well with the crowd, which ought to tell you how far left this "Take Back America" group is.

We all know Mrs. Clinton is a socialist, but she has to perform that delicate balancing act of pandering to the crazies on the left while also pretending to be a "moderate" to the masses, which unfortunately seems to be working, thanks to a compliant media.

Limousine Libs Gone Wild

Fred Barnes provides an updated account of Karl Rove being harassed by Mrs. Larry David and One-Square.

Nothing more ridiculous than a pair of arrogant, know-nothing libs talking trash to an intellectual superior.

The point of recounting this stunt by two of Hollywood's most prominent limousine liberals--who have accused Rove of rudeness--is to put him in the proper political context. He is the chief target of Democrats, liberals, and the left, and they burn with a desire to see him discredited, fired, and jailed. If all else fails, and it has so far, they'll settle for tainting him as impolite.

A few Democrats have talked of impeaching President Bush, but that idea is a nonstarter. Representative Dennis Kucinich has called for impeaching Vice President Cheney. But with enemies like Kucinich, Cheney doesn't need friends. When the Democratic presidential candidates were polled at a debate in South Carolina last week, they pointedly failed to agree with Kucinich. So that leaves Rove at the top of the Democratic hit list.

Rove is more than a symbol. He is the architect of Bush's election triumphs and an influential player in pushing the president's agenda. He represents Republican success. The Democratic strategy now is to criminalize that success by treating normal political conduct by the Bush administration, spearheaded by Rove, as a series of criminal acts.

This obsession with Rove by the left borders on psychosis. Typically enough, if you can't beat the man fair and square, you have to destroy him personally. The politics of personal destruction has indeed been perfected by the Democrats.

Nothing Fair About This

Adam Thierer has a lengthy piece at City Journal about efforts to revive the Fairness Doctrine, something we thought was dead and buried years ago. But since liberals aren't satisfied dominating just 99% of the media, they need to come after those outlets where free speech still means something.

This media cornucopia is a wonderful development for a free society—or so you’d think. But today’s media universe has fierce detractors, and nowhere more vehemently than on the left. Their criticisms seem contradictory. Some, such as Democratic congressman Dennis Kucinich, contend that real media choices, information sources included, remain scarce, hindering citizens from fully participating in a deliberative democracy. Others argue that we have too many media choices, making it hard to share common thoughts or feelings; democracy, community itself, again loses out. Both liberal views get the story disastrously wrong. If either prevails, what’s shaping up to be America’s Golden Age of media could be over soon.

Liberals Pushing Impeachment

It appears the far left has a political death wish, while their constituents are not busy wishing death upon their opponents (hello, HuffPosters).

Congressional Democrats say their constituents are clamoring for something even the most liberal lawmakers promise they won't pursue: President Bush's impeachment.

"I get one call after another saying, 'Impeach the president,' " said Rep. John P. Murtha, Pennsylvania Democrat and one of Mr. Bush's most relentless critics on the Iraq war.

"It's a simple process but a very divisive thing," Mr. Murtha said. "You've got to measure what it's going to do to the country, and at this point I don't see that happening. Instead we'll fight it out on the issues."

Some members speculated that the Democratic takeover of Congress and passage of Iraq withdrawal timetables in both the House and Senate have emboldened liberals across the country who want to see the president embarrassed during his final 21 months in office.

"The timing is all wrong," said Rep. Jerrold Nadler, New York Democrat. "If this were the first two years of his administration I would advocate impeachment. A lot of people at home say impeachment, and I'm sure he committed a lot of impeachable offenses, but think about it practically."

Mr. Nadler said impeachment hearings would be pointless and would only distract the country from the presidential election next year.

When even Burger Boy Nadler and Crazy Jack are against it, you know it's a bad idea. But that won't deter the insane left fringe.

Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich, Ohio Democrat, said he thinks impeachment has merit. In a video on his 2008 presidential campaign site, Mr. Kucinich tells supporters: "We need to reevaluate the direction of this administration by looking at its conduct in office, by determining whether it has faithfully followed the laws of our nation. I'm prepared to start that process."

Obama More Liberal Than Kucinich

This probably makes him the leading moderate with the base of the party.

WASHINGTON - The most liberal member of Congress running for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination isn't Rep. Dennis Kucinich of Ohio.

It's Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois.

And the Republican candidate who's grown less conservative over his years in Congress? Sen. John McCain of Arizona.

Those are among the interesting findings in a recent analysis of votes by all the members of Congress who are running for president. They cut to the heart of debates going on among activists in both major parties: Can a liberal Democrat win a general election? Which Republican is ideologically pure enough to win support from conservatives?

What about the GOP?

The most conservative member of Congress seeking the Republican nomination - based on lifetime voting records - is Rep. Duncan Hunter of California, with a score of 82.5. The most conservative score possible was 99.

Hunter isn't registering much support again the more well-known names, but I certainly could live with him as President. Obama? I don't think so.

The bad news on the Doubtetalk Express today?

McCain got a 46 for social issues - left of center - and more conservative grades for economic and foreign policy issues.

Democrat Congressman and gadfly presidential candidate appears in Al-Jazeera today. How special.

Democratic leaders are poised to give President Bush another $ 120 billion ($120,000,000,000) for the war, more than enough money to keep out troops in Iraq through the end of his term and enough money to expand the war into Iran. Democratic leaders want to fund the war while saying they oppose the war. They are promising to use the war as a campaign issue against Republicans in2008 .

We do not have time to discern whether the leaders who say they are for peace yet vote for war are motivated by sincerity, self-deception or duplicity.
