Susan Crawford, a former special assistant to President Obama for technology policy, sees a potential culprit in MSNBC's decision to suspend anchor Keith Olbermann last week: maybe Comcast had something to do with it. Comcast is in the midst of a merger with NBC Universal, the owner of MSNBC.Crawford indeed is spooked by Fox. Naturally, the Kos Kidz dig her.
Crawford, whose Twitter handle is @scrawford, tweeted on Saturday: "someone should find out whether any comcast connection to olbermann fracas - and remember Quiz Show plot line."
Asked whether she was serious, Crawford confirmed that she was. She has previously raised concern that the merger might give Comcast the ability to tamper with MSNBC, which has a left-leaning reputation, in order to maintain a positive business relationship with Fox, which has a right-leaning reputation.
"What happens to MSNBC post-merger?" she wrote in a blog post last month. "Right now, it’s providing the only response to Fox News. Comcast won’t want to irritate Fox - you can’t be a pay-TV distributor without Fox News, in the same way that you can’t be a pay-TV distributor without ESPN. Fox News is a truck running downhill."

Fox Derangement Syndrome
It appears that the hatred of all things Fox extends beyond just demeaning and dismissing their cable news channel.
This weekend the Fox NFL show broadcast live from Bagram Air Force Base in Afghanistan and at least one writer over at the dead tree news managed to find fault with it.
What is very apparent is the writer never walked in the boots in a military member. He never stayed up all night watching a Super Bowl in some foreign land, decked out in 40 pounds of grunt junk with weapons at the ready, prepared to respond to any threat. He never spent more then an overnight away from America or his mom, looking for anything to remind him of home.
This show by the Fox NFL crew was important because it brought home to them. Howie, Jimmie, Terry and the rest of the crew didn't just fly in and do a show and leave. They spent the entire week there visiting the service members and giving them a memory they will keep the rest of their life. They created a connection back to the "real" world.
The writer even tried his hand at being a joke writer for the late great Bob Hope, and I can now tell why he got a day job at the New York Times.
He tried to belittle the show but in doing so he exhibits his ignorance of what a role sports plays in a male dominated and geographically diverse crowd like we have in the military. Whether it is baseball, football, or NASCAR, sports allow a way for the kid from Arizona to harass the street smart guy from New York, it gives the country boy from Wisconsin something to hold his head high for when his beloved Packers win. They allow to a service member to root for the home team, even when they suck. Ask me, I had to suffer through all the failed Atlanta sports teams of the 80's and 90's.
All I can surmise is that the writer was so afflicted with Fox Derangement Syndrome that he just can see nothing they do as good and wishes to promote his own self importance by belittling others. Well, he failed at this too. Either that or he has a real loathing of football, maybe going back to a time in his childhood when he didn't make the team or the quarterback stole his girlfriend.
H/T to Blackfive for the story.

Classy: White House Thugs Now Threatening Democrat Strategists Who Appear on Fox
The Obama Thug Machine is officially out of control.
At least one Democratic political strategist has gotten a blunt warning from the White House to never appear on Fox News Channel, an outlet that presidential aides have depicted as not so much a news-gathering operation as a political opponent bent on damaging the Obama administration.Welcome to Obama's America, where freely speaking your mind is now forbidden and where you're livelihood will be threatened if you don't fall in line.
Political consultants are a staple of cable television talk shows, analyzing current events based on their own experiences working on campaigns or in government.
One Democratic strategist said that shortly after an appearance on Fox he got a phone call from a White House official telling him not to be a guest on the show again. The call had an intimidating tone, he said.
The message was, "We better not see you on again,'' said the strategist, who spoke on condition of anonymity so as not to run afoul of the White House. An implicit suggestion, he said, was that "clients might stop using you if you continue.''
In urging Democratic consultants to spurn Fox, White House officials might be trying to isolate the network and make it appear more partisan.
But Patrick Caddell, a Fox News contributor and a former pollster for Democratic President Jimmy Carter, said he has spoken to Democratic consultants who have been told by the White House to avoid appearances on Fox. He declined to give their names.
Caddell said he had not gotten that message himself from the White House. "They know better than to tell me anything like that,'' he said.
Caddell added: "I have heard that they've done that to others in not too subtle ways. I find it appalling. When the White House gets in the business of suppressing dissent and comment, particularly from its own party, it hurts itself.''

Democrat Sissy Wets His Pants on Fox News
Good grief. This tool gets airtime on Fox News and still whines like a little bitch. I must have seen a thousand cable shows over the years where it's one token conservative up against three of four liberals and never have I heard them whine like this punk.

Chavez Hits the Red Carpet, Blows Kisses To Obama

So nice to see another of the Hollywood elite kissing the fat tush of Venezuelan thug Hugo Chavez.
Hugo Chavez stole the show at the Venice Film Festival, where he walked the red carpet with director Oliver Stone for the premiere of the documentary "South of the Border."Yes, such a pity he hasn't been able to shut down our media as he's largely done to any opposition media in Venezuela. I guess Stone will do a sequel covering that.
Hundreds of admirers, some chanting "president, president," gathered outside of the for the leader's arrival. A few held up Venezuelan flags and a banner in Spanish that read "Welcome, president."
Chavez threw a flower into the crowd and touched his heart, and at one point took a photographer's camera to snap a picture himself. Security outside the Casino was tightened in advance of his arrival with military police checking bags
The leftist leader is getting a chance to hob-knob with the Hollywood elite as the central focus of Stone's film "South of the Border" — a look at what Stone calls the "truth" about Chavez's role in the sweeping changes in South America.
Chavez has been an outspoken critic of U.S. policy and often made headlines for likening President George W. Bush to the devil. The film, which is a series of interviews and clips from U.S. media reports, tells the story of Venezuela's so-called "peaceful revolution" since Chavez came to power in 1998. Chavez is portrayed as a hero of the people who refuses to be bullied, Reuters reported.
Stone says the U.S. media — including FOX News — and the government have demonized Chavez and other leftist South American leaders.
"You can't get a fair hearing for Chavez. It's an outrageous caricature they've drawn of him in the Western press," said Stone told Variety.
Meanwhile, Stone's new buddy gushed about Barack Obama, short one Communist buddy since Van Jones departed in the dark of night over the weekend. Maybe the two can pal around and have a beer at the White House.
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, a fierce critic of U.S. foreign policy who once called George W. Bush "the devil," said on Monday he hoped to be able to work more closely with President Barack Obama.I guess building a "nuclear village" with Iran can be a topic of discussion.
The leftist 55-year-old leader added in an interview in Italy that despite the global economic crisis and signs of a slowdown in growth in Venezuela, he did not expect his country to fall into recession.
Chavez was in Venice for the world premiere of "South of the Border," director Oliver Stone's sympathetic portrait of a leader he says has championed the poor and who has been unfairly demonized by the U.S. media.
"I have no reason to call him (Obama) the devil, and I hope that I am right," Chavez told reporters in Venice.
"With Obama we can talk, we are almost from the same generation, one can't deny that Obama is different (from Bush). He's intelligent, he has good intentions and we have to help him."

'I Am Completely Disgusted By the Headlines Concerning My Sister's Weight'

After less than a week of basking in the joyous glow of Hopenchange, the less-talented, lip-syncing sister of the rapidly-expanding Jessica Simpson is enraged with media outlets having the temerity to show photos of her sister, and naturally blames Fox News.
Of course, Fox News didn't report the story until at least a day after we noted it here, via the Daily Mail. But hey, when you're a C-list celebutante suffering from Fox Derangement Syndrome, why quibble with accuracy?
Ashlee Simpson says she is "completely disgusted" by the scrutiny over her sister Jessica's new curves.Wait until she finds out other players on the Cowboys are secretly referring to Jessica as Flozell.
"I am completely disgusted by the headlines concerning my sister's weight. A week after the inauguration and with such a feeling of hope in the air for our country, I find it completely embarrassing and belittling to all women to read about a woman's weight or figure as a headline on Fox News," Simpson writes on her blog under an entry titled "Since when did a woman's weight become newsworthy..."
Jessica flaunted her new body at a concert over the weekend, wearing a figure-hugging black tank top and high-waist jeans. A flurry of blog posts followed.

Megyn Kelly Destroys Obama Hack

Fox Ratings Soar, Moonbat Heads Explode
Even when Bill O'Reilly isn't on, Fox News Channel doubles the ratings of MessNBC.
The best part of this is reading the comments of the Fox haters. Truly a deranged bunch.

Faux News is the most dangerous news channel in our nation. They are very right wing slanted and will do anything to make sure any type of liberal bias does not get played in a positive and enlightening view. Faux news is the start of an already growing fascist society in our nation. We are following the path of Nazi Germany where they slowly used media and propaganda to instill fear into people's hearts. That is going on with Faux. Those that watch faux don't think that they are being brainwashed. But in the future you will see a more militant and more ultra right wing slant from Faux. And before you all know it, they will be calling for citizens to look for Muslims and gays on the streets so that they can be tried and arrested for terrorist activities.

Fox Derangement Syndrome Takes Unexpected Comic Turn
Absolutely hilarious. Some moron with way too much time on his hands has unearthed a nefarious plot by New York affiliate Fox 5 to go in the tank for John McCain.
And here's the video evidence to prove it.
What a f--king idiot.
Oh, sure, John McCain can be seen in the video, but if this schmuck ever watched that news program, they'd see for themselves at the outset of the broadcast you see a quick montage of video of current newsmakers, and John McCain qualifies as such considering he's the GOP nominee for president. I don't necessarily watch Fox 5 News in the evening, but it's a safe bet if you do take the time, you'll probably see quick shots of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton in there as well.
Naturally, some knuckleheads are buying it.
The YouTube poster seems to have a thing for McCain. Maybe it's a Ron Paul kook.

'Sean Hannity, the Butt Boy of Rupert Murdoch'
Such a statement would be considered hate speech by the left, of course, but since it's the deranged Jeff Spicoli, apparently it's alright.
Ironically, he's filming a movie about a gay man.
Fox Derangement Syndrome, consuming the haters of the left.
Hmm. He must not be keeping up with the ratings.

"I almost wish Jerry Falwell were alive to see this. Almost," Penn shouted to the crowd. After dropping some names of conservatives who are still with us - "Bill O'Reilly, who is too stupid to talk about," and "Sean Hannity, the butt boy of Rupert Murdoch," Penn said, "We know something more. We know their end is near."Really? More people watch them every night of the week than go see Penn's films in the course of a year, likely.
Hmm. He must not be keeping up with the ratings.
