Oakland Mayor Threatens Anarchists With a Timeout

This woman makes David Dinkins look like a pillar of granite when it comes to placating mindless thuggery. Heck, Mikey Bloomberg could give her tips on how to at least rattle the sabers. But being this nincompoop Jean Quan already surrendered her city to the mob, her next best hope is for the lawless to, ahem, take some responsibility.

Oakland Mayor Jean Quan says the Occupy Oakland protesters camped outside City Hall need to move to a "less disruptive" location if they can't learn to behave themselves.

"They have to take some responsibility, they have to step up," she told KCBS-AM in an interview. "If they can't abide by not camping at night and they can't control the violence, they need to work with the city to move the camp to a place that will be less disruptive."

Quan told KCBS she didn't know where that new location could be, but jokingly suggested San Francisco.

What a card. She's a national laughingstock and she's cracking jokes.

Quan's administration has gone back and forth on what to do with the camp in Frank Ogawa Plaza at 14th Street and Broadway, where there are now about 165 tents. First she supported protesters, then approved a police sweep to clear the encampment Oct. 25, then allowed the tents to return.

At a lengthy meeting Thursday night, several members of the City Council hinted that they would like the camp to go away.

That might be easier said than done, Quan told KCBS.

She knows how to play her cards, doesn't she? Such bold, decisive leadership clearly shows she's on the fast track to a top law enforcement post in a future Democrat administration.

Issa: Holder is Dangerously Inept

Just imagine if these gunrunning scandals were happening under a Republican administration. The wall-to-wall coverage would knock even the latest Obama "pass this bill" speech off the air.

But if you don’t want to know something of this sort then you shouldn’t have the job he has. And ultimately that’s one of the questions is, if he didn’t know, is he that inept that he is dangerous to have as the Attorney General, and that is for the president to decide.”

Illinois to Lay Off Thousands of State Workers

Pat Quinn better watch out or Junior Hoffa may soon declare war on him.

A decision made by Gov. Pat Quinn may leave thousands of state workers without a job by the end of the week.

The cuts are coming in the face of a budget deficit that doesn't leave enough money to pay the workers, a source told the Chicago Tribune. Quinn also plans to close a prison, juvenile detention center and homes for the mentally ill.

Such heartless cruelty, closing homes for the mentally ill.

Naturally, Obama's buddies plan to sue Obama's home state. Now that's some change for you.

If no cuts are made, several agencies will run out of money by spring, Quinn says.

The state's largest government employee union, AFSCME, promises to sue if the layoffs are made, much like they did over blocked pay raises.

Maybe if Illinois was wise enough to elect a competent governor, like Wisconsin and Ohio have recently, they mihgt not be in this mess.

Unreal: Obama Rails Against GOP for Not Passing Trade Agreements That are Sitting on His Desk

I caught a bit of a Fox News segment with Greg Jarrett interviewing a couple of political strategists, one sane and the other, well, she was a Obama apologist who couldn't answer a simple question: Why did Obama rail against Republicans for not passing trade agreements that are sitting on his desk?

Remarkably, it's a true story.

President Obama says he wants to get the U.S. economy growing, so here's a tip that may help: In order for Congress to ratify free-trade agreements, the White House must first send the signed deals to the other end of Pennsylvania Avenue.

On his three-state tour in the Midwest this week, Mr. Obama repeatedly told audiences that the Korea, Colombia and Panama free-trade deals would all be law by now if not for an obstructionist Congress. Passing the deals is something Congress "could do right now," he said.

Except that's not true. Congress can't pass the agreements "right now" because it doesn't have them. They are still sitting on the President's desk. Seriously.

If you are surprised to learn this, you are not alone. White House deputy press secretary Josh Earnest only learned the news on Friday during a press conference. Asked why the FTAs haven't been sent, he responded, "We have not sent them over?"

That was followed by what might be called an awkward moment. "I will say this—I mean, there has been an active dialogue that's been underway between the United States trade representative, other members of the Administration, with the appropriate Congressional leaders in the committees of jurisdiction. We are in a place where we have seen Republicans advocating for passing these free trade agreements for quite some time," Mr. Earnest explained. He also pointed out that "these three trade agreements combined would create or support about 70,000 jobs here in the U.S."

In response to Jarrett's query, the Obama zombie simply blurted out that Congress has a low approval rating.

You just can't reach these people.

Wonderful: Guns From ATF Sting Linked to 11 More Violent Crimes

Perhaps if anyone can penetrate another staged Obama townhall they can pose a question to him about this ever-growing scandal

Firearms from the ATF's Operation Fast and Furious weapons trafficking investigation turned up at the scenes of at least 11 violent crimes in the U.S., as well as at a Border Patrol agent's slaying in southern Arizona last year, the Justice Department has acknowledged to Congress.

The department did not provide details about the crimes. But The Times has learned that they occurred in several Arizona cities, including Phoenix, where Fast and Furious was managed, as well as in El Paso, where a total of 42 weapons from the operation were seized at two crime scenes.

The new numbers, which expand the scope of the danger the program posed to U.S. citizens over a 14-month period, are contained in a letter that Justice Department officials turned over to the Senate Judiciary Committee last month.

In the letter, obtained by The Times on Tuesday, Justice Department officials also reported that Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives officials advised them that the agency's acting director, Kenneth E. Melson, "likely became aware" of the operation as early as December 2009, a month after it began.

Melson has said he did not learn about how the operation was run until January of this year, when it was canceled.

The July 22 letter, signed by Assistant Atty. Gen. Ronald Weich, was sent to Sens. Patrick J. Leahy (D-Vt.) and Charles E. Grassley (R-Iowa), the top members of the Senate Judiciary Committee. It was in response to questions posed to the Justice Department about Atty. Gen. Eric H. Holder Jr. and the weapons operation.

The program was intended to identify Mexican drug cartel leaders and smuggling routes across the border by allowing illegal purchases of firearms and tracking the weapons. Instead, many of the guns vanished.

Weich said that although the "ATF does not have complete information" on all of the lost guns, "it is our understanding that ATF is aware of 11 instances" beyond the Border Patrol agent's killing where a Fast and Furious firearm "was recovered in connection with a crime of violence in the United States."

Justice Department officials did not provide any more details about the crimes or how many guns were found.

Of course. They hate providing details.

If this crap happened during a Republican administration there'd be daily televised hearings and calls for impeachment. Why the almost complete media silence? Are the esteemed "journalists" at MSNBC too busy editing tapes to make people appear racist? Have they ever even mentioned this?

Super Genius President Fondly Remembers Awarding Medal of Honor to Dead Soldier

Let's cut the guy some slack. He was probably distracted by the logistics of his glitzy, big bucks fundraising blitz with the beautiful people in Manhattan tonight. So what if he fucks up and pretends to remember meeting a soldier who was already dead? It's not like he's some imbecile like George W. Bush or Sarah Palin.

During his remarks to troops at Fort Drum today, the President was reminiscing about the times he has spent with the US Army's 10th Mountain Division, when he got something wrong.

"Throughout my service, first as a senator and then as a presidential candidate and then as a President, I’ve always run into you guys. And for some reason it’s always in some rough spots.

First time I saw 10th Mountain Division, you guys were in southern Iraq. When I went back to visit Afghanistan, you guys were the first ones there. I had the great honor of seeing some of you because a comrade of yours, Jared Monti, was the first person who I was able to award the Medal of Honor to who actually came back and wasn’t receiving it posthumously."

The problem is, Jared Monti was killed in action in Afghanistan, on June 21, 2006. He was awarded the Medal of Honor posthumously, September 17, 2009. President Obama handed the framed medal to his parents, Paul and Janet Monti. He and the First Lady comforted them in the Oval Office following the ceremony.

No doubt MSNBC and CNN will be replaying this blunder for days upon end, ridiculing both his stupidity and insensitivity.

Naturally, his stooge downplayed the idiocy.

The Shame of Wisconsin Teachers: State's Black Fourth-graders Post Worst Reading Scores in U.S.

Funny how the whining teachers aren't touting this news during their temper tantrum in Madison.

Reading scores for Wisconsin's African-American fourth-graders trail those of their racial peers in every other state and the District of Columbia, according to a national government report that delivered dire news Wednesday about how Wisconsin prepares its students.

Further, fourth-graders as a whole in Wisconsin are losing ground in reading while other states make gains, as measured by the National Assessment of Educational Progress, also known as the nation's report card. Only 33% of the state's fourth-graders scored at a level considered proficient or advanced by the test; the rest scored at a basic level or lower.

And for these abysmal results they expect to be rewarded in perpetuity. Seems to me most of them should be fired. If they produced results like this in the private sector they'd have been out of work long ago.

Not only are they failing black children, those looking forward to college haven't got much to fall back on either.

The parents of the kids who can't read must be so grateful to see the incompetent teachers shutting down schools for days so they can protest.

'Where is the Media? Where is the Rest of the World?'

Sure doesn't appear event in Libya are garnering much sympathy from the Obama administration.

About 200 people demonstrated in front of the White House on Saturday challenging President Obama to help end recent violence in Libya.

The group was responding to reports of bloody clashes between protesters and soldiers in the isolated North African nation.

Malik Sahad, who helped organize the event outside the White House, said Libyans are now smuggling stories to the outside world via social media, essentially creating their own news coverage in hopes that the international community will step in.

"We have people that are risking their lives, who are finding ways to send their messages, their videos, their recaps, their recounts of what's been going on," Sahad said. "They're asking us, 'Where is the media? Where is the rest of the world? We don't have cameramen down here. We don't have Anderson Cooper down here. We don't have people on the ground level to give us support and to show the rest of the world what we've been going though.'"

That's because the Libyans are far more brutal and oppressive that the Mubarak regime, apparently. That and the Libyans are apparently jamming Al-Jazeera's signal.

Today, things got worse.

Libyan forces fired machine-guns at mourners marching in a funeral for anti-government protesters in the eastern city of Benghazi Sunday, a day after commandos and foreign mercenaries loyal to longtime leader Moammar Gadhafi pummeled demonstrators with assault rifles and other heavy weaponry.

A doctor at one Benghazi hospital said 15 people died in Sunday's clashes. Earlier he said his morgue had received at least 200 dead from six days of unrest. The doctor said his hospital, one of two in Libya's second-largest city, is out of supplies and cannot treat more than 70 wounded in similar attacks on mourners Saturday and other clashes.

The crackdown in oil-rich Libya is shaping up to be the most brutal repression of anti-government protests that began with uprisings in Tunisia and Egypt. The protests spread quickly around the region to Bahrain in the Gulf, impoverished Yemen in the Arabian Peninsula, the North African neighbors of Tunisia - Libya, Algeria, Morocco - and outside the Middle East to places including the East African nation of Djibouti and even China.

Yet here in America, some simpletons want to compare what's going on worldwide with the Obama-inspired idiocy in Madison.

Obama, meanwhile, is absent this weekend (probably hunkering down for the NBA All-Star game), so his stooge showed up with the odious Christiane Amanpour.

ABC''s Christiane Amanpour told Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton today that her picture in a new issue of Harper's Bazaar presents the perfect image for a high-profile diplomat -- standing in a corner.

Clinton chuckled at the idea -- "I just do what photographers tell me to do, it has no metaphorical meaning for me" -- but did allow that the cycle of protests and government reaction in the Middle East is testing the "balancing act" that is essential to foreign policy.

"We want to advance our security, our values, and our interests," Clinton said on ABC''s This Week. "And if there were one template that could be imposed on every situation, I wouldn't need to have this job, and nobody else would have to, either."

In approaching the unrest in Egypt, Bahrain, Libya, and perhaps other nations in the Middle East, the U.S. is pursuing its desire to promote democracies around the world, while guarding against anti-American extremists who might take advantage of the situation -- as happened in Iran in 1979.

Instead, she and her boss are now backed into a corner, so to speak.

"In general, Americans are in favor of human rights, freedom, democracy," Clinton said on ABC's This Week.

Yeah, except for the rights, freedom and democracy of conservatives. Or Libyans.

Here's an idea. Maybe the Libyans should hold up signs voicing their solidarity with spoiled Wisconsin teachers.

Oprah: We All Need to Respect Obama or Something

Maybe when the day comes that he gives me a reason to respect him. Until then, perhaps he should start respecting the American people.

Oprah called on President Obama's critics on Friday to “show some level of respect.”

"I feel that everybody has a learning curve, and I feel that the reason why I was willing to step out for him was because I believed in his integrity and I believed in his heart," the influential TV host said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” in Chicago.

Of the negative mood of the country, Oprah added, “I think everybody complaining ought to try it for once.”

Sorry, but the I'd much rather have a president who isn't on a learning curve.

Under My Plow: Bloomberg's Ratings Plunge As He Offers a Couple of Sacrificial Lambs Following Snow Disaster

With a 100% chance of the flaky white stuff headed our way tomorrow, it seems like a great time for Titanic Captain Mike "Nolabels" Bloomberg to rearrange the deck chairs. Now I know why he wants us all to cut down on our salt intake. He needs it to help clear his precious bike paths dotting the city. Anyway, nearly two weeks after he kissed his presidential aspirations goodbye (even though he's not running, of course), he kicks a couple of sanitation honchos to the curb, where they're sure to collect a comfy salary and pension.

Oh, the pain.

The heads just keep on rolling following last month's botched blizzard cleanup.

The city said today that two Sanitation Department bosses in Brooklyn were demoted "after examining our performance during the massive blizzard" and will install GPS devices in trucks that will plow parts of the outer boroughs.

The men that will be reassigned are Brooklyn South Assistant Chief Joseph Montgomery and Brooklyn South Deputy Chief Joseph Susol, although the city did not give a specific reason as to why they were being replaced.

"After examining our performance during the massive blizzard that hit us the day after Christmas, among the things we found were that structural and personnel changes were in order in Brooklyn to create a more balanced operation," said Sanitation Department Commissioner John Doherty.

The move comes a day after the city demoted EMS Chief John Peruggia as part of a post-blizzard shakeup.

The city was hit with 20 inches of snow on Dec. 26-27, with parts of Brooklyn and Queens remained paralyzed for days after the sanitation department failed to plow streets.

More snow is expected to fall on Friday, although forecasts call for as little as three inches in most parts of the city.

At a new conference at City Hall this afternoon, Mayor Bloomberg also outlined a plan to install GPS trackers in 50 Sanitation trucks, effective Friday, to help us "communicate" with drivers in Brooklyn.

"These are only initial improvements," Bloomberg vowed, saying they will have more improvements to announce next week.

"We're going to do better next time," he added.

This time last week he was belligerent and defiant, he'd done nothing wrong, and shut up and bask in his aura.

Today he sounds a bit less defiant. I can't wait until the media starts polling him in the wake of this debacle.

The city also said it will improve training procedures for all sanitation workers, who The Post reported last week had, in some cases, intentionally slowed down the cleanup as part of a union action in response to department budget cuts. Neighborhoods like Dyker Heights and Borough Park, both located in Southern Brooklyn, were intentionally targeted by drivers.

Bloomberg and Doherty have said there was no deliberate work stoppage.

Keep sticking to that story, guys. It's really working out.

In a stunning development, Bloomberg's poll ratings are falling as fast as the snow.

A poll taken after the storm showed Bloomberg's approval rating had plunged from 50% to 37% and only one in five New Yorkers think he handled it well.

At a press conference to address the city response to snow expected to fall today, Bloomberg stood with two embattled underlings - Deputy Mayor Stephen Goldsmith and Sanitation Commissioner John Doherty.

Not present was Joe Bruno, head of the Office of Emergency Management, said to be on thin ice for not mobilizing fast enough.

Bloomberg stammered awkwardly as he denied yelling at Bruno during a meeting and said the commissioner was absent because he was preparing for today's expected bad weather.

I just hope the grounds in front of the Ground Zero mosque area are properly cleared tomorrow. We don't want to offend his few remaining supporters.

Let's look at the upside: It's taken a natural disaster to save us from the political disaster known as Michael Bloomberg.

Bloomberg: This Week's Disaster a 'Character Building' Experience

Despite the calamity that hit New York City this week and the glaring incompetence of his administration and the snow removal fiasco, Michael Bloomberg still gives himself high marks for 2010. How gracious of him.

The Blizzard of 2010 may have forever dented Mayor Bloomberg's popularity.

The mayor admitted today that the botched snow removal effort this week was a "character building" experience for him.

"This year is not ending the way I would have preferred, but it's still been a good year," he said this morning on his radio show. "Nobody has a career that goes straight up."

He added that the city's failure to clear streets days after the blizzard was "character building."

Uh, no, it was criminal negligence.

Holder: New Black Panther Case a 'Made-up Controversy'

Really, Mr. Attorney General, it was all made up?

Asked about the prospect of oversight hearings and subpoenas involving the New Black Panther case, Mr. Holder said, “there is no ‘there’ there.”

“The notion that this made-up controversy leads to a belief that this Justice Department is not color-blind in enforcement of civil rights laws is simply not supported by the facts,” he said. “All I have on my side with regard to that is the facts and the law.”

Uh, how about some of these facts?

Leaders of the New Black Panther Party express joy in a newly available video that Attorney General Eric Holder tolerated their voter-intimidation activities and dropped a case against them.

In the video below, Malik Shabazz, president of the New Black Panther Party, explains at a NBPP meeting why New Black Panthers were sent to polling places with batons. His comments include some jokes, as when he cracked to members “You know we don’t carry batons…. PSYCHE! I’m just playin’.” Shabazz goes on to explain that his brother got a pass from the Obama Justice Department because “Justice Department leadership changed into the hands of a black man by the name of Eric Holder.” Good to know.

You see, nothing happened. Except what happened. But according to our Attorney General, what happened was just a fabrication, all video evidence notwithstanding.

Ever hear of J. Christian Adams, Mr. Holder? Surely you must have. He's a man who once worked for the Justice Department and resigned over this "made-up" non-story.

On the day President Obama was elected, armed men wearing the black berets and jackboots of the New Black Panther Party were stationed at the entrance to a polling place in Philadelphia. They brandished a weapon and intimidated voters and poll watchers. After the election, the Justice Department brought a voter-intimidation case against the New Black Panther Party and those armed thugs. I and other Justice attorneys diligently pursued the case and obtained an entry of default after the defendants ignored the charges. Before a final judgment could be entered in May 2009, our superiors ordered us to dismiss the case.

The New Black Panther case was the simplest and most obvious violation of federal law I saw in my Justice Department career. Because of the corrupt nature of the dismissal, statements falsely characterizing the case and, most of all, indefensible orders for the career attorneys not to comply with lawful subpoenas investigating the dismissal, this month I resigned my position as a Department of Justice (DOJ) attorney.

Why would this man resign his position if this never happened?

The irony is the story where the Holder quote comes from generally is sympathetic toward him and laments the frustration he'll be facing with those meanie Republicans in charge of the House. They have some questions for Holder regarding this "made-up controversy," questions I doubt he'll be answering truthfully.

Queens Baby Left Braindead Because EMS Workers Couldn't Get Through Unplowed Streets

Three full days after the blizzard hit New York City a baby falls ill. But thanks to the crack job done by sanitation department EMS workers could not get to the child in time and now he's laying braindead in a hospital.

Congratulations, Mike Bloomberg and the sanitation union. Heckuva job. Also critically wounded: Any future political office aspired to by Bloomberg.

A 3-month-old Queens boy was left brain dead last night after snow-clogged routes prevented medics from reaching him quickly -- and unplowed streets later forced the EMS workers to ditch their ambulance and sprint with the ailing baby to the hospital.

As little Addison Reynoso hovered at death's door, a priest performed last rites, and his family considered pulling him off life support.

The baby's heartbroken father fumed at the city's lax clean-up response to last weekend's monster blizzard.

"Clean the streets," Luis Reynoso said, "because that's why the ambulance came too late."

On top of the half-hour it took rescuers to get Addison to the emergency room, family members and friends said they were forced to call 911 several times before they could even reach a dispatcher.

"The weather hampered our efforts," an FDNY source said, hours after Addison -- apparently suffering from a respiratory infection -- was declared brain dead. "The snow did impact this."

Addison was being watched by a family friend in Corona Wednesday afternoon when he suddenly lost consciousness.

The frantic baby-sitter knocked on a neighbor's door after failing to reach a 911 dispatcher at around 1 p.m. and told the neighbors to call for help. A few minutes later, the boy's parents arrived, and his father lay the child on the floor and started performing CPR.

Addison's mom, Rocio Xoyatla, meanwhile, made several 911 calls, but only got a tone. She finally reached a dispatcher at 1:12 p.m., a family friend said.

It took at least 12 agonizing minutes longer for EMS crews to reach the home on 39th Avenue, near 108th Street in Corona.

When they arrived, medics found Luis Reynoso hovering over his dying child, desperately trying to blow life into the tiny lungs of the baby.

Reynoso and his wife sprinted down three flights of stairs with their child and climbed into the ambulance, which slogged two miles through the snowy streets with a police escort.

Then, the unthinkable happened. The ambulance got stuck in the snow on an unplowed stretch at Baxter and Layton streets, just 30 yards short of the emergency room door at Elmhurst Hospital.

EMS workers had to sprint the rest of the way cradling the baby, arriving at 1:42 p.m.

"The main street outside of the emergency room wasn't cleaned yet," Luis Reynoso said. "We had to get out of the ambulance and run."

Three days after the snow the entrance outside the emergency room wasn't plowed? This is criminal. Gee, it almost sounds coordinated.

There was a method to their madness.

The selfish Sanitation bosses who sabotaged the blizzard cleanup to fire a salvo at City Hall targeted politically connected and well-heeled neighborhoods in Queens and Brooklyn to get their twisted message across loud and clear, The Post has learned.

Their motives emerged yesterday as the city's Department of Investigation admitted it began a probe earlier this week after hearing rumblings of a coordinated job action.

Sources told The Post several neighborhoods were on the workers' hit list -- including Borough Park and Dyker Heights in Brooklyn and Middle Village in Queens -- because residents there have more money and their politicians carry big sticks.

"It was more targeted than people actually think," said a labor source. "Borough Park was specifically targeted [because of] . . . its ability to sort of gin up the p.r. machine."

The plan worked. Residents of those neighborhoods -- who, after three days, were still trying to dig out their cars -- are apoplectic.

"It's hurting people for greed," seethed Barry Coogan, 60, who lives on 64th Road in Middle Village. "Whoever made those decisions should lose their jobs.

"Don't hurt the neighborhood so you can't get medical help."

In Brooklyn, Democratic Assemblyman Dov Hikind called the clean-up "an absolute disaster."

"You have the most unbelievable anger I've ever seen," he said of his Borough Park constituents.

The revelation came as:

* A Queens baby was brain dead last night after poorly plowed roads hampered efforts to rescue him.

* Sources said Sanitation bosses issued verbal directives during the clean-up to give priority to streets near the homes of agency heads and other city bigwigs. "This happens all the time," one Sanit worker said. "They make sure the bosses and politicians get taken care of."

* Despite Mayor Bloomberg's insistence that all roads would be plowed at least once by yesterday morning, many were untouched, with snow still piled high. "We still have work to do," Bloomberg later said.

* Even as streets in the outer boroughs waited for a single plow to arrive, crews were clearing bicycle lanes on the Upper West Side. Bloomberg, however, insisted that was not happening.

Of course Bloomberg's going to dispute that, but I suspect he's full of it and is in CYA mode. If he had any balls he'd de-certify the union today and the state would beging a criminal probe of this mess. That or he should resign in disgrace.

In the end nothing will happen, though. You have a city run by liberals, a state run by a Democrat governor (and a new one being sworn in tonight) and two Democratic senators who've been noticeably absent this week (where's Chuckie?). If Andrew Cuomo wants to start on solid footing, he immediately appoints an independent prosecutor to investigate this mess.

Great News: Union Thugs Slowed Down NYC Snow Removal

Say what you will about the incompetence the the buffoon Michael Bloomberg, but this is just unconscionable.

Selfish Sanitation Department bosses from the snow-slammed outer boroughs ordered their drivers to snarl the blizzard cleanup to protest budget cuts -- a disastrous move that turned streets into a minefield for emergency-services vehicles, The Post has learned.

Miles of roads stretching from as north as Whitestone, Queens, to the south shore of Staten Island still remained treacherously unplowed last night because of the shameless job action, several sources and a city lawmaker said, which was over a raft of demotions, attrition and budget cuts.


"They sent a message to the rest of the city that these particular labor issues are more important," said City Councilman Dan Halloran (R-Queens), who was visited yesterday by a group of guilt-ridden sanitation workers who confessed the shameless plot.

Halloran said he met with three plow workers from the Sanitation Department -- and two Department of Transportation supervisors who were on loan -- at his office after he was flooded with irate calls from constituents.

The snitches "didn't want to be identified because they were afraid of retaliation," Halloran said. "They were told [by supervisors] to take off routes [and] not do the plowing of some of the major arteries in a timely manner. They were told to make the mayor pay for the layoffs, the reductions in rank for the supervisors, shrinking the rolls of the rank-and-file."

New York's Strongest used a variety of tactics to drag out the plowing process -- and pad overtime checks -- which included keeping plows slightly higher than the roadways and skipping over streets along their routes, the sources said.

The snow-removal snitches said they were told to keep their plows off most streets and to wait for orders before attacking the accumulating piles of snow.

Meanwhile, one of bumbling Bloomberg's hacks sent his props to the Sanitation Department with this Tweet.

Heckuva job, Goldy.

As city plowing crews waged a losing battle with a raging storm Sunday night, the man in charge of the operation sent a note of praise to his guys on the street.

"Good snow work by sanitation," Deputy Mayor Stephen Goldsmith posted to his Twitter account at 11:06 p.m. Sunday night. "Long shifts well executed and continuing."

Goldsmith, the former mayor of Indianapolis who Mayor Bloomberg brought in this year to cut costs in city government, is widely disliked by the city's unionized workforce.

As the blame game heats up in the wake of the disastrous snow clean up, many are pointing fingers at Goldsmith - and noting that he wasn't in town as the flakes started falling.

By the way, a baby is dead because of this. Unions lied, babies died.

Napolitano in April: Border is 'As Secure Now as it Has Ever Been'; Today: 'Napolitano to Arizona in Wake of Border Patrol Agent's Killing'

Back in the spring when Obama and his minions were busy attacking Arizona and filing suit against an American state for daring to try and protect themselves from the hordes of illegals, Big Sis visited DC.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, while testifying before a Senate panel, said the United States’s southwest border is “as secure now as it has ever been.”

“I say this again as someone who has walked that border,” she said. “I’ve ridden that border. I’ve flown it. I’ve driven it. I know that border I think as well as anyone, and I will tell you it is as secure now as it has ever been.”

Despite her ignorance and political expedience, that doesn't stop the bad guys.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano is headed to Arizona on Thursday following a gun battle that killed a Border Patrol agent near the U.S.-Mexico border.

Agent Brian Terry was shot late Tuesday night on the U.S. side of the border in a canyon well known for its drug and human smuggling activity.

Napolitano, who is expected to meet with Border Patrol agents and employees in Arizona tomorrow, called Terry’s killing “an unconscionable act of violence against the men and women of the Border Patrol and all those who serve and defend our country.”

I suspect she's the last person the border agents want to see. Maybe she can rub it in and bring that stooge Eric Holder with her.

Four suspects are in custody while a search is on for a fifth.

Law enforcement authorities are scouring mountainous, rocky terrain on foot and on horseback, searching for one of five men suspected of shooting and killing Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry on Tuesday night.

Four suspects are in custody, including one who is hospitalized.

"About an hour or so ago, one of our deputies picked up an undocumented alien in the general area, and he was referred to Border Patrol," Santa Cruz County Sheriff Tony Estrada said shortly before 3 p.m. "We don't know if he had any connection, because there is a lot of that activity going on.

"The area has been completely saturated with law-enforcement personnel. Of course, our hope is they will come up with the additional individual."

Terry, 40, was killed about 11 p.m. while patrolling near Peck Canyon in a remote area by Arizona 289.

Border Patrol agents and officers from the Department of Public Safety are stationed on ridgelines throughout the area in the Coronado National Forest. Authorities also are stationed along Peña Blanca Lake.

The scene is about 10 miles north of the U.S.-Mexico border and west of Interstate 19.

So not only is the border not secure, we've got this activity 10 miles inland. Sadly, with all this the media still refuses to call them illegal aliens.

'The Writing and Logic Are So Confused I Thought It Was a Joke'

Is it any wonder why the UFT is afraid to release performance reviews of their teachers to the public? If this incoherent letter from a principal is any indication, the children in New York City public schools are hopelessly doomed.

A rambling letter from the principal of a Brooklyn middle school was so poorly written and full of grammatical errors that parents and teachers say he deserves a dunce cap.

Principal Andrew Buck of the Middle School for Art and Philosophy was defending his policy of not providing textbooks in the email sent last week.

Or at least he seemed to be.

It was hard to tell because his logic was so bewildering, his language so stilted. His subjects and verbs didn't always match. He repeatedly misspelled "textbook" as two words.

After Buck fired off the email to teachers, parents got a hold of it and passed out copies in front of the East Flatbush school. Many are calling for his ouster.

"Our principal denies us books and then he sends this nonsense," said Paulette Brown, a nurse assistant from Flushing whose daughter is in the eighth grade. "You can't understand what he's saying in the letter. He has to go."

Buck, who earns $129,913 as head of the C-rated school, noted in the email that "a few influential parents" have been pushing for more textbooks in the classroom.

"Text books are the soup de jour, the sine qua non, the nut and bolts of teaching and learning in high school and college so to speak," he wrote in one head-scratching passage.

Buck appeared to switch positions midway through the document. After saying textbooks are useful, he went the other way:

"[J]ust because student have a text book, doesn't mean she or she will be able to read it . . . Additionally students can't use a text book to learn how to learn from a textbook..."

In one particularly bizarre section, Buck revealed that not being able to correctly answer questions at the back of many textbooks made him feel "dumb and inadequate" when he was a middle school student.

The missive contains about 50 errors of grammar and logic, said experts who reviewed it.

"The letter is a confusing mess," said Alan Ettman, who has taught English at Hewitt Clinton High School in the Bronx for 26 years.

"The grammar is horrible. The logic is tortured. I can't figure out what he's trying to say," said Ettman, who gave the letter a grade of F.

"It's as though each paragraph is not related to the one that comes before or after," Ettman said. "I think he's just trying to make excuses for not buying books."

Jack Wolkenfeld, a professor of English at Kingsborough Community College for 36 years, said the letter suggested a confused thought process.

"It's hasty, like the author hasn't thought it out," Wolkenfeld said. "The writing and logic are so confused I thought it was a joke."

Nobody's laughing at the Lenox St. school where only 13% of eighth-graders passed state reading exams last year.

Back in my college days our newspaper ran an editorial critical of the poor performance of students in the teaching department. We then had a graduate teaching student deliver a letter in rebuttal to us demanding we print it. It was the most illiterate piece of writing I'd ever seen. So we printed the letter as it was and it set off a firestorm at the university. Immediately we were accused of making it up to embarrass the writer. We then posted it on the office door and suddenly the teaching students were rendered silent, save for a few who came forward to admit how humiliating it was. I then had an English professor use it as a demonstration on how not to write.

Long story short: This is not meant to bash teachers, many of whom are intelligent and dedicated. But the unions who protect the incompetent ones while disrespecting parents must be held accountable. Yet they and the Democratic Party refuse to give parents a choice and the kids are left to suffer. They know more about condoms, so-called diversity, global warming hoaxes and voting Democrat than they know how to spell, add, subtract and compose a coherent sentence. When you have a principal who can't string a simple sentence together, how can we believe any child in that school will be properly educated?

Former President Bill Clinton lost the biscuit - a card with the codes needed to launch a nuclear attack - and couldn't find it for months, a former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff has revealed.

"At one point during the Clinton administration," Gen. Hugh Shelton recalled, "the codes were actually missing for months. That's a big deal - a gargantuan deal," he told ABC World News.

Bubba's scary blunder is described in Shelton's just-published memoir, "Without Hesitation: The Odyssey of an American Warrior."

Shelton claims the story is new, but another military man told a similar account in his book seven years ago that included a possible excuse for Clinton's knuckleheadedness.

Ret. Air Force Lt. Col. Robert Patterson claims Clinton was asked to present the biscuit so it could be updated with a new one but couldn't find it.

It was the morning after the Monica Lewinsky scandal broke.

"He thought he just placed them upstairs," Patterson recalled.

Expect the requisite trashing of Shelton today.

Smart Diplomacy: Bumbling Obamatons Hang Philippines Flag Upside Down

Thank goodness we have this towering intellect repairing our image abroad.

The U.S. Government today apologised for displaying an inverted Philippine flag - wrongfully signifying that the nation was in a state of war - in a meeting hosted by Barack Obama.

The Philippine flag was displayed upside-down behind President Benigno Aquino III when leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations met President Obama in New York on Friday.

The Philippine flag was shown with the red part at the top and the blue at the bottom, indicating the country is at war.

The blue field is above the red field when the country is at peace.

For many countries, including the UK and the U.S., a flag flown upside down indicates a state of distress.


However in the Philippines an inverted flag signals a state at war.

'This was an honest mistake,' U.S. Embassy spokeswoman Rebecca Thompson said in a statement. adding, 'the U.S. treasures its close relationship and close partnership with the Philippines.'

She added that the American embassy will find out how the 'unfortunate' incident happened.

No doubt they'll find someone to pin the blame on instead of accepting responsibility. It's the Democrat way.
