'She Touched My Hand, and I'm Never Washing It Again!'

Today's propaganda disguised as news.
On Tuesday, the First Lady led hundreds of school children in a solid minute of jumping jacks on the South Lawn. The event kicked off a 24-hour chase after a Guinness World Record—and served as a reminder of how adorably uncoordinated we all are as young people.
Wow, a solid minute! She's gonna need some cheeseburgers to replenish after that solid minute of exercise.
As this reporter arrived, the children, all clad in matching blue T-shirts, were running around the lawn excitedly while "Good Vibrations" played. Perhaps their zeal came from being the jumpers who would start off a string of jumping jacks the world over, as groups coordinated by National Geographic Kids tried to reach their goal of 20,426 people having jumped their jacks before 3 p.m. Wednesday. Perhaps it came from the knowledge that the First Lady would soon be in their midst.
Just gushing with anticipation. Queen Michelle would soon be here!

And then she arrived as the media kiddies squealed with delight.
Then, finally, came the main event. The children screamed as Michelle Obama arrived. "Woohoo!" she said. "Moving is fun!" Then she ran through a center space that parted the kids and showed them all how jumping jacks are done. After the minute of chaotic limb-flailing came to a close, the children surrounded her. Though her bodyguard looked none too pleased, the First Lady stayed and mingled with the swarming kiddies.

"She touched my hand!" one yelled. "She touched my face!" countered another. "She touched my hand, and I'm never washing it again!" the first retorted. Bless the children, indeed.
Pass the barfbag, stat!

Fairly Unbalanced: BBC Moves to Silence 'Climate Change Skeptics'

As if ignoring so-called skeptics all these years hasn't done the trick. Now the climate change warm-mongers and propagandists are making official government policy to try and ignore those interested in exposing the climate frauds.

What are they so afraid of?
Opponents of global warming should be given less coverage by the BBC than the climate change lobby, the corporation will rule.

The BBC is set to publish a report tomorrow on its science output announcing changes to rules on impartiality.

Following the overhaul, programme makers and broadcasters will be compelled to give less prominence to those who oppose the scientific community's majority view.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the report draws heavily on an independent review of BBC coverage by Steve Jones, a professor of genetics at University College London.

Professor Jones is understood to have cleared the BBC of any suggestion of bias in its programming.
Oh, so a genetics professor is now a media expert?
But the main conclusion made is that in cases where there is a widely held scientific view, such as on GM crops or the MMR injection, the BBC shouldn't give airtime to critics of the scientific consensus.
That's right. Just shut out the opinion of others and you can all believe your own bullshit.

Wonderful.

Manufactured News of the Day: Medicaid is Just Wonderful

Gee, some group out of Harvard and MIT put their eggheads together and came up with a study saying how great a government program going broke is?
Signing up for Medicaid could improve your overall health and financial security, says a surprising new study that offers clues on how President Barack Obama's health care overhaul might affect millions of low-income uninsured Americans.

The findings run counter to a widespread perception that having a Medicaid card is no better than being uninsured, and maybe even worse.

Led by economists at Harvard and MIT, and released Thursday by the National Bureau of Economic Research, the study found that having Medicaid significantly increased the chances people will perceive their health as being good to excellent, while decreasing the likelihood they'll have to borrow money or skip paying other bills because of medical expenses.
Not to be suspicious or anything, but when a group counts Paul Krugman and a who's who of Obama economic advisers as notable members, alarm bells begin ringing.

What, that's not mentioned in AP's puff piece? Funny how that is.
Medicaid is a federal-state program for low-income and severely disabled people now covering about 60 million Americans. Starting in 2014, it will also pick up about half the more than 30 million uninsured people gaining coverage under the new health care law. Since it pays doctors far less than Medicare and private insurance, some experts have questioned whether Medicaid coverage will translate into medical care that people need.
So when Medicaid collapses under the crushing weight of ObamaCare, the authors of this tripe will all remind us how misleading they were, right?

Naturally, the caveats are buried deep.
There are some caveats, however.

Adding 10,000 people to the Medicaid rolls in one state involves much less strain on the health care system than bringing in 15 million to 17 million people nationwide in 2014, as the health care law envisions. If there aren't enough doctors at that time, patients who just gained coverage could have a hard time finding a provider, or face long waits for an appointment.
Really, you suppose there will be a doctor shortage? How could this be?

But let's not examine the obvious conflicts of interest here. The media sure won't. You'll hear all day long how wonderful Medicaid is, and obviously how anyone disagrees wants to kill Grandma.

Newsflash: Rachel Maddow 'The Top US News Anchor', MSNBC Has 'No Political Agenda'

Calling someone from MSNBC the "top" anything is certainly news to us.
"I'm not a screamer," she agrees after the show during a chat in her office, her legs curled up underneath her, and contacts swapped for heavy-framed geekish glasses. "I'm confrontational, but I don't think that translates into anger." What it translates into is ratings. In the first quarter of this year, Maddow's ratings were 26% higher than CNN's talkshow in the same timeslot (1,065,000 to 848,000), which, incidentally, is hosted by Piers Morgan.
I guess they simply have to pretend Fox News doesn't exist in order to buttress the claim she's the "top news anchor in the US," something obviously not supported by the ratings.

Another howler:
Of Fox News, she says simply "When it starts to seem like you have popped into bed with a specific party, it makes it difficult for people to believe you are not doing someone else's bidding for them."

At MSNBC, on the other hand, "there are people here who are identified as liberals, but there is no political agenda".
Really? I guess if you lie to yourself enough you begin to believe it.

Painful EPA Rap Video for Kids: 'Public Transportation Is the Way to Go'

Your tax money at work. Nothing like indoctrinating the kiddies with junk science and propaganda. Here's a sample of the lyrics.
You can pick up paper and recycle it too, and there are many other things that you can do. You can click off the game boy, flip off the light, while you’re brushing your teeth, turn the handle to the right. Close the fridge door - keep it shut tight, no food has been added since the middle of the night. A 5 minute shower is all that’s needed to keep energy from being depleted. A long sleeve sweater is what I know – will keep you toasty and the fuel bills low. Plant a tree in your neighborhood, besides giving shade you know it looks real good.

I said Click it, flip it, turn the handle to the right, turn off the water, twist the handle real tight. Slip on your sneakers, lace em up tight, leave the car parked you know that’s alright. Public transportation is the way to go, it’s one of the ways to keep emissions low, you can ride your bike, instead of the car, if we save on fuel then we’ll all go far.

The USA is where we are to kick a new trend and to raise the bar. The climate is changing and that’s a fact, bears don’t know when to take a nap, On top of that it won’t be cool when the flood waters rise and mosquitoes rule. It’s time to get off the couch and start to move.
Start to move? Did the first lady help write this nonsense?

H/T Laura Ingraham.

Oh No! Another 'Polar Bears are Disappearing' Story

Of course the story is replete with the the word if, since there's zero evidence to support this nonsense and as recent as 2008 there were record numbers of polar bears. But hey, let's play along.
THE polar bear population is falling because of melting sea ice, a study published today has claimed.

The survival of the species across much of the Arctic will be in question if climate change continues at its current rate, said researchers from the University of Alberta.

They predicted that up to 73 percent of pregnant females in the Hudson Bay region will not reproduce if sea ice breakup comes a month early.

"If climate change continues unabated, the viability of the species across much of the Arctic will be in question," said biologist Peter Molner, the paper's lead author.

During ice-free periods, pregnant female bears are less able to hunt for food to build up energy reserves, as they hibernate before giving birth. If they cannot build up proper reserves, the embryo is reabsorbed.
If if if if.

Not will, not is, not conclusive evidence shows.

If.

As in, if these people weren't beholden to research grant money, they would be forced to get real jobs.
The Hudson Bay polar bears are the most southerly population and the first to be affected by global warming, said researchers, but if temperatures continue to rise across the Arctic, most of the polar bear population will be at risk.
OK, they're slipping. Is it climate change or global warming?

Soros-Funded Center for American Progress Laments Arizona Losing Money Due to SB 1070

Of course, the New York Times merely refers to this group of thugs as a liberal policy group, although we admit that's progress right there in identifying them as liberal. Still, no mention of George Soros and his deep pockets or of John Podesta or Van Jones, other distinguished members of this group, which clearly has an agenda in opening our borders and sowing chaos.
The state’s convention business as a whole is down $45 million this year, hurt by controversy over the state’s immigration crackdown that went into effect over the summer, according to a study to be released Thursday.

Spinoff effects bring economic losses into the hundreds of millions of dollars, according to the study, commissioned by the Center for American Progress, a liberal policy group in Washington. Potential future effects of fewer convention bookings could mean Arizona will receive an overall hit of more than $750 million, the study said.
The State Senate President tells them where to go.
The State Senate president, Russell Pearce, a Republican who sponsored the law to encourage illegal immigrants to leave the state, dismissed the report as a fiction and said illegal immigrants were costing the state billions.

“I get tired of this,” he said. “Arizona is not the bad guy. Arizona didn’t make illegal illegal. We’re enforcing the law.”
While Soros and his goons celebrate, the big losers in all this are ... Hispanic employees who work in the tourism industry.
Those hurt most of all by the boycotts and canceled business, Ms. Jarnagin said, have been hotel workers, many of them Hispanic, who have been laid off during the slow times.

The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, which represents 3,000 Hispanic-owned businesses across the country, opposed Arizona’s immigration approach but did not favor a boycott because of the disproportionate effect such sanctions would have on Latinos.
It's not exactly as if CAP even pretends to be objective.
Arizona’s enactment of harsh, anti-immigrant legislation—S.B. 1070—sparked an incendiary national debate over the role of states in making and enforcing immigration policy. Some states and localities rushed to copy Arizona’s draconian approach; others adopted resolutions condemning Arizona’s intolerance. But all states would be wise to consider the practical implications of their decisions before following Arizona any further down the proverbial garden path.

Passage of the Arizona legislation triggered a fierce, national public-opinion backlash against the state and led many national organizations and opinion leaders to call for economic boycotts.
Considering their hostile stance toward Arizona, why is the media so quick to simply rehash their press releases? (Oh right, they're in bed together.)

Where exactly was this fierce, national public-opinion backlash? Maybe in the media, but I never recall seeing a single poll under 70% support for SB 1070. I guess if you repeat a lie often enough...

Naturally, they make zero mention of the money the state saves as illegals flee, but I guess anything that refutes their nonsense isn't worth studying.

Expect this "study" to lead many a newscast today but don't expect any insight or analysis of the dubious group peddling the story. Or of the awfully coincidental timing of the release coming just at the moment Democrats are trying to ram through the DREAM Act.

Update: The charming Podesta has a curious take on what our armed forces are for.
How does one “move the country forward”? In the center’s report, Podesta explains that Obama can use executive orders, rulemaking, and even the armed forces “to accomplish important change” and that such means “should not be underestimated.”

Time: How Mr. Wonderful Became Mr. Unpopular

They scratch their pointy heads in bewilderment how a guy nobody knew anything about went from being popular to detested in less than two years. They'll be the last ones to figure it out, but we helpfully add a visual clue in case they don't get it.
The Barack Obama that most Hoosiers remember voting for can still be found on YouTube. He stands before a cheering Elkhart high school gymnasium in August 2008, tireless, aspirational, promising a new America of jobs and hope. "We can choose another future," says the newcomer with the funny name. "So I ask you to join me."

Today that view of Obama is harder to find in Indiana. A couple of weeks back and a dozen miles west of Elkhart, hundreds gathered in another school gym - except this time it was for a job fair. With the local unemployment rate above 12% and rising again this summer, about a third of the employer display tables stood empty. Julie Griffin, who voted for Obama in '08, sat down at the room's edge, well dressed and discouraged. After 23 years as a payroll administrator at a local RV plant, she got laid off 18 months ago. "Really, what has he been doing?" she said when I asked about Obama's efforts to help people like her. "I guess I don't know what he is doing."

Across the gym floor, Joe Donnelly, Elkhart's pro-life, pro-gun Democratic Congressman, worked the crowd. He was part of the moderate wave that won Congress for Nancy Pelosi in '06, and he was re-elected with 67% of the vote while campaigning for Obama in '08. The President has since returned to the region three times, but Donnelly is nonetheless fighting for his political life. In a recent television ad, an unflattering photo of Obama and Pelosi flashes while Donnelly condemns "the Washington crowd." This is basically a Democratic campaign slogan now: Don't blame me for Obama and Pelosi. "I'm not one of them," Donnelly told me when I caught up with him. "I'm one of us."

This shift in perception - from Obama as political savior to Obama as creature of Washington - can be seen elsewhere. When Obama arrived in office in January '09, his Gallup approval rating stood at 68%, a high for a newly elected leader not seen since John Kennedy in 1961. Today Obama's job approval has been hovering in the mid-40s, which means that at least 1 in 4 Americans has changed his or her mind. The plunge has been particularly dramatic among independents, whites and those under age 30. With midterm elections just nine weeks off, instead of the generational transformation some Democrats predicted after 2008, the President's party teeters on the brink of a broad setback in November, including the possible loss of both houses of Congress. By a 10-point margin, people say they will vote for Republicans over Democrats in Congress, the largest such gap ever recorded by Gallup.
This is what happens when media creations of God-like figures go bust. Chris Matthews aside, did anyone really believe a guy we still know very little about was Mr. Perfect?

Of course in the end none of it is his fault. It's the right-wing smear machine that apparently controls the media or something.
When challenged about his declining popularity, the President tended to deflect the blame - to the state of the economy, the ferocity of the news cycle and right-wing misinformation campaigns.
Naturally, no examples of this so-called "misinformation" are provided.

Time helpfully begins the Obama makeover and what we might expect after he leads the Democrats to slaughter two months from today.
But two years is the equivalent of multiple lifetimes in politics, and there are signs that Obama is already pivoting away from plans to engineer massive reforms in energy policy, global-warming response and immigration law to less-stirring, more-popular challenges like reducing the deficit and reforming taxation and entitlements. What little margins Obama does have to push major reforms through are sure to shrink away in the coming months. "I think the next couple of years, we've got to focus on debt and deficits," Obama told NBC News after his summer vacation. "We've got to focus on making sure that we make the recovery stronger. And a lot of that is attracting private investment."
Of course Obama believes in none of that so it's all about political expediency. After seeing the damage he's done in less that two years is there a single American out there who believes he wants to cut taxes and reduce the deficit?

Land of Make Believe: CBO Says 3.3 Million Jobs Created Last Quarter

Welcome to Fantasy Island.
President Barack Obama’s stimulus package may have created or saved as many as 3.3 million jobs last quarter and lowered the unemployment rate by as much as 1.8 percentage points, the Congressional Budget Office said.

The $814 billion program, known as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, or ARRA, probably added between 1.7 percent and 4.5 percent to gross domestic product for the three months through June, the nonpartisan agency said in a report issued yesterday.
It may have, it could have, blah blah blah.

A look at that report; keyword throughout seems to be estimated.

So now when we get the next unemployment figure and it's unchanged or worse, it'll be unexpected.

ABC News, under the byline of a guy named Andy Sullivan, reports this as fact.
The massive U.S. stimulus package put millions of people to work and boosted national output by hundreds of billions of dollars in the second quarter, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said on Tuesday.

CBO's latest estimate indicates that the stimulus effort, which remains a political hot potato ahead of the November congressional elections, may have prevented the sluggish U.S. economy from contracting between April and June.

CBO said President Barack Obama's stimulus boosted real GDP in the quarter by between 1.7 percent and 4.5 percent, adding at least $200 billion in economic activity.

During that time the economy was growing at an anemic pace.

Gross domestic product rose just 0.6 percent during that period, according to preliminary Commerce Department data which economists expect will be revised sharply lower when new figures are released on Friday.

The massive package of tax cuts, construction spending and enhanced safety-net benefits was passed in February 2009 in the midst of the deepest recession since the 1930s.
Wait. Tax cuts? What tax cuts?

This Day in JournoList: CNN Stars Helped Coordinate Attack on Palin

For those who would like to dismiss the esteemed members of the infamous JournoList as just a bunch of fringe bloggers, be sure to note the presence of a couple of CNN employees in this discussion looking to destroy Sarah Palin when she was named as John McCain's running mate in 2008.
“What a joke,” added Jeffrey Toobin of the New Yorker. “I always thought that some part of McCain doesn’t want to be president, and this choice proves my point. Welcome back, Admiral Stockdale.”
In addition to the New York, Toobin is also CNN's legal analyst with plenty of personal peccadilloes of his own.
In 2008, when Greenfield became pregnant, and when she told Toobin the news, he offered her "money if she'd have an abortion," says a source. He also allegedly offered to pay for her to have another child later via a sperm donor.

"When Casey wouldn't have an abortion, Jeff told her she was going to regret it, that she shouldn't expect any help from him," claims another source.
I wonder if his co-conspirators discussed any of that? Toobin, by the way, was married at the time he was trying to force his girlfriend into an abortion, or in liberal parlance, enforced choice.

Meanwhile, Time and CNN's Joe Klein, last seen accusing Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck of being seditious, eagerly pushed an early line of attack against Palin, one the rest of this cabal eagerly ran with.
Joe Klein of Time stopped by with an update on the latest from his magazine: “We’re reporting that she actually supported the bridge to nowhere. First flub?”
If there's any doubt Klein isn't a leftwing apparatchik, it's now evaporated.
Time’s Joe Klein then linked to his own piece, parts of which he acknowledged came from strategy sessions on Journolist. “Here’s my attempt to incorporate the accumulated wisdom of this august list-serve community,” he wrote. And indeed Klein’s article contained arguments developed by his fellow Journolisters. Klein praised Palin personally, calling her “fresh” and “delightful,” but questioned her “militant” ideology. He noted Palin had endorsed parts of Obama’s energy proposal.
Other participants on the JournoList are desperately trying to downplay the daily damage coming out. Good luck with that, kiddies.

It's worth noting there'd be howls of outrage if it were discovered that Fox commentators were coordinating a behind the scenes attack on a Democrat candidate.

By the way, has CNN even mentioned this scandal yet? And the punk who started this whole list is in damage control mode. Do the folks at the Washington Post now regret hiring this propagandist yet?

'The Idea That Taxes Are High Right Now is Pretty Much Nuts'

Think you're hopelessly overtaxed? Well, we've got some folks here who specialize in creative math who are going through contortions to tell us we're all crazy if we think our taxes are too high. According to them, we're paying the lowest level of taxes since 1950.
Amid complaints about high taxes and calls for a smaller government, Americans paid their lowest level of taxes last year since Harry Truman's presidency, a USA TODAY analysis of federal data found.
Some conservative political movements such as the "Tea Party" have criticized federal spending as being out of control. While spending is up, taxes have fallen to exceptionally low levels.

Federal, state and local taxes — including income, property, sales and other taxes — consumed 9.2% of all personal income in 2009, the lowest rate since 1950, the Bureau of Economic Analysis reports. That rate is far below the historic average of 12% for the last half-century. The overall tax burden hit bottom in December at 8.8.% of income before rising slightly in the first three months of 2010.
Of course this propaganda designed as "news" doesn't tell us how they came to this absurd conclusion. We can only figure they simply took the amount of tax revenue taken in by federal, state and local governments and divided it by the total population. Seriously, how on earth they can possibly tell me I'm paying 9.2% of my income when I have eyes and can actually read my paycheck and tax return?

Seems to me some of our "friends" on the left are behind this drivel and are just using this as a pretense to jack up our taxes under the mantra we're not paying our fair share or some such nonsense.
"The idea that taxes are high right now is pretty much nuts," says Michael Ettlinger, head of economic policy at the liberal Center for American Progress. The real problem is spending, counters Adam Brandon of FreedomWorks, which organizes Tea Party groups. "The money we borrow is going to be paid back through taxation in the future," he says.
The Center for American Progress, of course, is a George Soros-funded, far left outfit.
One of CAP's primary missions is to carry out "rapid response" to what it calls conservative "attacks" in the media. To this end, CAP maintains more than a dozen spokespeople ready to appear on short notice on national talk shows to debate or respond to conservative commentators. Among CAP's expert commentators are its own President, John Podesta; Eric Alterman, who claims expertise on the subject of media; and CAP Senior Vice President Morton Halperin, who offers to speak on national security.

On May 3, 2004, CAP helped to launch David Brock's Media Matters for America - which claims to serve as a "watchdog" organization monitoring "rightwing" media for ethics and accuracy. According to The New York Times, Brock conferred with Hillary Clinton, Senator Tom Daschle, and former Vice President Al Gore about Media Matters before embarking on the project. "Mr. Brock's project was developed with help from the newly formed Center for American Progress," notes the Times, and John Podesta "introduced [Brock] to potential donors."

CAP posts daily "Talking Points" to guide the likeminded in their disputes with conservatives. The organization has also established an American Progress Action Fund as a "sister advocacy organization" that "transforms progressive ideas into policy through rapid response communications, legislative action, grassroots organizing and advocacy, and partnerships with other progressive leaders throughout the country and the world."

The March 2004 Foundation Watch newsletter of the Capital Research Center reports that CAP raised $13 million in 2003. Part of that money came from George Soros, who had pledged $3 million, to be paid in $1 million increments over three years. Part came from Herbert and Marion Sandler, co-CEOs of the Oakland, California savings and loan holding company Golden West Financial Corporation (S&L).

Other donors to CAP include the Rockefeller Family Fund; the Irving Harris Foundation, the Philip Murphy Foundation, the New York Community Trust, the Overbrook Foundation, the Peninsula Foundation, the Robert E. Rubin Foundation, the San Francisco Foundation, the Bauman Family Foundation, the Nathan Cummings Foundation, the Joyce Foundation, the Open Society Institute, and the Robert and Irene Schwartz Foundation.

After Barack Obama was elected President in 2008, CAP served as perhaps the most influential organization advising the new administration. Among Obama's leading advisers were John Podesta and at least ten additional CAP experts.
I wouldn't be surprised to find out CAP funded this "news" study. Expect a barrage of stories on this today from the usual sources telling us we're all nuts for thinking we're overtaxed.

Thanks to Hot Air for the link.

Uh, Maybe They Should Have Sold It First

From Obama's cheerleaders at the Associated Press.
The initial blush of President Barack Obama's health care triumph immediately gives way to a sober political reality — he must sell the landmark legislation to an angry and unpredictable electorate, still reeling from the recession.

Voters may not buy it.

And that could mean a disastrous midterm election year for Obama and his fellow Democrats.
It's obvious the people do not want this, which is why he has to sell it. But it's all about him and the people be damned, so it had to pass to save Obama.

Oh, and how do they plan to sell this crap sandwich? All Obama, all the time. Sick of him already? You ain't seen nothing yet.
aimed at turning around Americans' opinion of the health-care bill.

Planning inside the West Wing for the post-vote period has proceeded quietly, even as the president and his allies on Capitol Hill were fighting for the measure's passage.

Reshaping the legislation's image will take place in three phases, White House aides said: the immediate aftermath; the seven months until the November midterm elections; and the several years that follow, during which many provisions in the measure will gradually take effect.
Just make sure you keep calling us stupid, racist homophobes. That should help sell it.

No doubt his media handmaidens and pals in Hollywood will dutifully help "sell" this garbage with a relentless propaganda drive.

The people won't be buying it.

Peruvian Mountain People Endangered by Global Cooling

The article doesn't say that, of course. It's "climate change" that's killing them off. Naturally, the writer still claims the world is getting hotter.

Amazing. They just can't let go of the global warming myth.
For alpaca farmer Ignacio Beneto Huamani and his young family, life in the Peruvian Andes, at almost 4,700m above sea level, has always been a struggle against the elements. His village of Pichccahuasi, in Peru's Huancavelica region, is little more than a collection of small thatched shelters and herds of alpaca surrounded by beautiful, yet bleakly inhospitable, mountain terrain.

The few hundred people who live here are hardened to poverty and months of sub-zero temperatures during the long winter. But, for the fourth year running, the cold came early. First their animals and now their children are dying and in such escalating numbers that many fear that life in the village may be rapidly approaching an end.

In a world growing ever hotter, Huancavelica is an anomaly. These communities, living at the edge of what is possible, face extinction because of increasingly cold conditions in their own microclimate, which may have been altered by the rapid melting of the glaciers.

A consequence is that Quechua-speaking farmers and their families, who have managed to subsist for centuries at high altitude, believe they may not make it through the next southern winter.

There have been warnings from meteorologists in Peru that this month will see the Huancavelica region hit by the worst weather conditions in years with plunging temperatures, floods and high winds. The weather is already claiming lives; last month seven people died and scores were treated in hospital after torrential rain caused flash flooding in Ayacucho, the capital of the neighbouring region.

The cold is tipping Pichccahuasi into a spiralling decline brought on by pneumonia, bronchitis and hunger.

Although designed to withstand the cold, Huamani's house is crumbling and his roof, half-collapsed from the snowstorms that battered the village last June and July, offers scant protection from the freezing wind and rain.
And this is all happening because the earth is getting warmer or something.

Good grief. Two-thirds of the United States is below freezing, orange crops in Florida are being destroyed, the world is seeing record low temperatures, yet we're told it's getting "hotter" and the miserable failures of Copenhagen are to blame.

The idiocy just never stops.
Climate change campaigners and development NGOs say that the failure of Copenhagen has signed the death warrant for hundreds of thousands of the world's poorest and that a quarter of a million children will die before world leaders meet again to try to thrash out another deal at the United Nations next climate change conference in Mexico in December. Among them may be these children of the high mountains.
Submit to the global warming hoax of millions will die!

Prominent Climate Hoaxer: 'Denial Industry is Out to Dupe the Public'

Talk about a massive case of projection. A guy who's at the forefront of the climate-change scam has the gall to make the claim the "denial industry" is out to hoodwink the public.

It doesn't get any funnier than this.
When you survey the trail of wreckage left by the climate emails crisis, three things become clear. The first is the tendency of those who claim to be the champions of climate science to minimise their importance. Those who have most to lose if the science is wrong have perversely sought to justify the secretive and chummy ethos that some of the emails reveal. If science is not transparent and accountable, it's not science.

I believe that all supporting data, codes and programmes should be made available as soon as an article is published in a peer-reviewed journal. That anyone should have to lodge a freedom of information request to obtain them is wrong. That the request should be turned down is worse. That a scientist suggests deleting material that might be covered by that request is unjustifiable. Everyone who values the scientific process should demand complete transparency, across all branches of science.

The second observation is the tendency of those who don't give a fig about science to maximise their importance. The denial industry, which has no interest in establishing the truth about global warming, insists that these emails, which concern three or four scientists and just one or two lines of evidence, destroy the entire canon of climate science.
OK, so if it's a mere "one or two" lines of evidence and "three or four" scammers, how does that translate to a "trail of wreckage"?

Uh, Mr. Monbiot, it is because the "evidence" has been hidden that your world is crumbling around you. Pointing fingers at those who question the junk science and playing make believe about "one or two" lines of evidence isn't going to wash away the stain.

As to the "denial industry" having no interest in establishing the "truth" about mythical global warming you are indeed correct. There is no global warming, so therefore there is no truth to establish. What we're more interested in is exposing the fraud that you and your co-conspirators have perpetrated on the public.
When I use the term denial industry, I'm referring to those who are paid to say that man-made global warming isn't happening. The great majority of people who believe this have not been paid: they have been duped. Reading Climate Cover-Up, you keep stumbling across familiar phrases and concepts which you can see every day on the comment threads. The book shows that these memes were planted by PR companies and hired experts.
Oh, and we don't see familiar phrases repeated every day by the climate scammers?

Can we project any more here, Mr. Moonbat?

Yup, we're all just a bunch of unwitting dupes, and the brainwashed public and schoolkids who have the daylights scared out them them on a daily basis have just been inculcated with the truth. No, they're not dupes, just messengers of the greater truth, whatever that is today.

Child Abuse In the Name of 'Climate Change'

This one just begs for a spoof video. I heard Rush Limbaugh playing this earlier and thought it was a gag. Unfortunately it's not. Really, these people should be ashamed of themselves exploiting kids with this shameless propaganda.
WWF has worked around the world for the past 50 years protecting our most beloved and endangered species—such as tigers, rhinos, polar bears and pandas. But that work is in danger of becoming unraveled if we don’t act now to find a global solution to climate change.

On December 7, 2009, more than 192 nations will gather in Copenhagen, Denmark, to negotiate a fair and binding global treaty to reduce emissions and save our planet from the worst impacts of climate change.

The rest of the world, including countries like Germany, Japan, South Africa, India and China, is ready to take action. And while it won’t be easy to reach a global agreement, under the leadership of President Obama, we know the world can come together and combat climate change.
And what better way than to use kids to further your goal?

Surprise! 'Kumar' in the Middle of NEA Scandal

Considering he's working with Valerie Jarrett, is it any shock Kal Penn (real name Kalen Modi) landed smack in the middle of a White House scandal?
Former actor and present White House associate director of public engagement Kalpen Modi was directly involved in planning the controversial conference call hosted by a National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) flack to encourage tax-supported artists to create propaganda for President Obama, according to emails obtained by Judicial Watch via a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.

The emails reveal that Modi worked with now-former NEA national communications director Yosif Sargant in planning the August 10 conference call that was first revealed by Andrew Breitbart's Big Hollywood.com web site. Participants in the conference call were encouraged to use their talents to generate public support for the Obama agenda in Congress.
More at Judicial Watch.
The following are excerpts from the email correspondence:

--August 10, 2009, 10:23 am: Email from Yosi Sergant to Kalpen Modi: "[The call is] organized by me...I'd ask you to come on and give the exact spiel you gave on Saturday. Walk them through the WH Arts Policy. They won't know it. Then I will take them into United We Serve and the NEA."

--August 10, 2009, 10:29 am: Email from Kalpen Modi to Yosi Sergant: "Oy. This would be awesome to be a part of. Let me know if you think it's going long, or maybe I can get someone from here to do it if I can't because of the Social Security mtg."

--August 10, 2009, 11:04 am: Email from Kalpen Modi to Yosi Sergant: "Let me see if we can move Social Sec by a few mins. Agreed, it would be great to be on the call and helpful for us also."

--August 10, 2009, 1:37 pm: Email from Yosi Sergant to Buffy Wicks, Deputy Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement: "We have an important call at 2pm for UWS (United We Serve) and the Arts with my peeps. Indie producers around the country. Kal can't join the call. Any chance you can hop on for 5 minutes and intro with Nellie and I?"

While the names of the individuals on the conference call were redacted due to "privacy concerns," some of their titles were disclosed, including: Green Blogger, Publisher, Musician, Music Writer, Film/Marketing, Actress/Director, Marketing, Magazine, Marketing/Magazine, Event Producer, and Actress. These individuals were described by Sergant in an email as a "rad group, who can really get stuff done."

"These emails shed new light on a very serious Obama administration scandal. The NEA is supposed to foster the arts, not serve as a propaganda machine for the Obama White House. We will continue our investigation so we can provide the truth to the American people about this scandal."
A shame nobody of the state-controlled media cares about this scandal.

They Lie: Insurance Company Profits Not Quite 'Obscene'

In their effort to ram socialized medicine down our throats the Democrats have taken to another Big Lie: That insurance companies are greedy and racking up "obscene profits" by taking advantage of people.

Just one problem: It's all nonsense.
Quick quiz: What do these enterprises have in common? Farm and construction machinery, Tupperware, the railroads, Hershey sweets, Yum food brands and Yahoo? Answer: They're all more profitable than the health insurance industry.

In the health care debate, Democrats and their allies have gone after insurance companies as rapacious profiteers making "immoral" and "obscene" returns while "the bodies pile up."

Ledgers tell a different reality. Health insurance profit margins typically run about 6 percent, give or take a point or two. That's anemic compared with other forms of insurance and a broad array of industries, even some beleaguered ones.

Profits barely exceeded 2 percent of revenues in the latest annual measure. This partly explains why the credit ratings of some of the largest insurers were downgraded to negative from stable heading into this year, as investors were warned of a stagnant if not shrinking market for private plans.

Insurers are an expedient target for leaders who want a government-run plan in the marketplace. Such a public option would force private insurers to trim profits and restrain premiums to compete, the argument goes. This would "keep insurance companies honest," says President Barack Obama.
If only Obama and the Democrats were honest.

I know, that's too much to ask for. Here's a look at some of their lies.
"I'm very pleased that (Democratic leaders) will be talking, too, about the immoral profits being made by the insurance industry and how those profits have increased in the Bush years." House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., who also welcomed the attention being drawn to insurers' "obscene profits."

"Keeping the status quo may be what the insurance industry wants their premiums have more than doubled in the last decade and their profits have skyrocketed." Maryland Rep. Chris Van Hollen, member of the Democratic leadership.

"Health insurance companies are willing to let the bodies pile up as long as their profits are safe." A MoveOn.org ad.

Health insurers posted a 2.2 percent profit margin last year, placing them 35th on the Fortune 500 list of top industries. As is typical, other health sectors did much better — drugs and medical products and services were both in the top 10.
As for the canard profits were up during the Bush years, that's also another lie.
But were the Bush years golden ones for health insurers?

Not judging by profit margins, profit growth or returns to shareholders. The industry's overall profits grew only 8.8 percent from 2003 to 2008, and its margins year to year, from 2005 forward, never cracked 8 percent.
Why must Democrats lie all the time?

Stunner: Obama Using Government Website for Propaganda

Actually, the stunner would be finding a givernment website these days that isn't promoting Obama's shameless propaganda.
Senate Finance ranking member Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) is raising concerns that a Department of Health and Human Services Web site that urges visitors to send an e-mail to President Barack Obama praising his health care reform plan may violate rules against government-funded propaganda.

The Web page is accessed through a “state your support” button featured prominently on the HHS Web site and carries a disclaimer that the Web site is maintained by HHS.

In a letter sent to HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius Tuesday, Grassley warned that “any possible misuse of appropriated funds by the executive branch to engage in publicity or propaganda in support of an Administration priority is a matter that must be investigated and taken seriously,” noting that in 2005 Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) argued that “the use of official funds for similar activities were 'underhanded tactics' and that these tactics 'are not worthy of our great democracy.'”
Of course that was then and this is now. Pelosi also said she was restoring integrity to the Congress.

OK, stop laughing.

Ironic, isn't it, that despite all the efforts, slobbering media coverage and owning the state-run media, Obama is now opposed by a majority on virtually every issue.

Just imagine where he'd be if there was integrity in government and a fair a balanced media. This is worthy of investigation but you can almost guarantee it will be ignored by the Obama lackeys in the lamestream media.
The form letter on the “state your support” page includes language hailing Obama's efforts. “We strongly support your commitment to comprehensive health reform. This is not a luxury. The continuing, sharp escalation of health care costs for families, businesses, and government is unsustainable. Reform is imperative. We believe that health reform must be enacted this year,” the letter says.

Additionally, the form letter says that signatories will back Obama's efforts. “During these extraordinarily challenging times, we need to put aside past differences and address the health and economic crisis. Our shared interest must come before narrow interests so we can achieve a health system that is affordable and provides high quality for all Americans. We will support your budget with its reserve fund dedicated to achieving health care reform in a fiscally responsible manner. Each of us must be prepared to contribute to achieving this fundamental goal. By signing this statement we affirm our commitment to work with you and our Congressional leaders to enact legislation this year which provides affordable, high quality coverage for all Americans.”

The page requires signatories to provide their name, zip code and e-mail address, and also asks for their mailing address and phone number, although that information is not labeled as required.
Incredibly creepy. Sounds to me like you're signing over your allegiance to Dear Leader.

Media Bias? What Media Bias? AP Laughably Claims Obama Has 'Silent Majority' on Health Care

An absolutely disgusting piece of propaganda disguised as news from Obama's stenographers at the Associated Press. When I opened up Yahoo this morning, I was greeted by this absurd story.
Fired up? Ready to go? You might not know it from the way President Barack Obama's grass-roots supporters have been largely drowned out in the raucous debate over his health care plan.
As we asked yesterday, is it mandatory for these liberal media morons to use raucous in every story? Was it raucous every time Code Pink or some arm of the Democratic Party interrupted hearings on Capitol Hill during the Bush administration?

Anyway, back to this drivel.
Yes, they're behind him, officials say — volunteering in their communities and contacting lawmakers in Congress. But some Obama organizers are calling their forces a "silent majority," embracing Republican terminology of long ago. And if the final legislation doesn't include a government run plan to compete with private insurers, they may be invisible, too.

While opponents of the health care revamp have largely controlled the image war with rowdy town halls and a huge march on Washington last month, Obama supporters have been mobilizing across the country as well, tapping into the unprecedented network his presidential campaign built last year.
Wait a minute. A huge march on Washington? Why was it every media outlet did their best to downplay that huge march?
"We're building a long-term organization with leaders in the community who are trained. It was successful in the election and it will be successful again," says Jeremy Bird, deputy director of Organizing for America.
Want to see what Organizing for America is all about? Behold:

The Associated Press, of course, finds nothing wrong with this disgusting propaganda.
OFA, the pro-Obama effort annexed to the Democratic National Committee, says it has enlisted more than 2 million people in active support of the plan since the beginning of the summer. It recently completed a 19-stop cross country bus tour, and leaders say they have held over 18,000 health care events in all 50 states and 435 congressional districts.

The intensity of such efforts is difficult to gauge, particularly when compared to the angry town hall meetings across the country over the summer and the "tea party" march that drew tens of thousands to Washington. A flood of questions at one recent OFA meeting in New York suggested it's far easier to ramp up the campaign to defeat the plan, even if proponents are turning out in the large numbers OFA claims.
Let's face it. Obama and the Democrats have been unable to sell their radical plan to annex 1/6th of the American economy and their only recourse is to shove it down our throats. To see a supposedly unbiased "news" organization prostitute itself to promote this is just shameful.

Almost as bad as a "news" network having kids dance to Obama's tune.

Even some kids can see this.

Indeed, a Fifth-Grader Is Smarter Than Obama

I've seen this video several places around the blogosphere today, an incredibly shameful piece of propaganda from CNN, which has forever forfeited any pretense of objectivity. Yet I hadn't seen the prelude here where 'Willie' lays out a devastating case against ObamaCare that leaves the CNN infobabe flummoxed and nearly speechless, as if she can't believe what appears to be a 10-year-old has a superior grasp of the debate than she or any of the other empty heads at CNN.

It's right at the beginning so you need not suffer through the painful song and dance routine.

Memo to the folks at Fox News Channel: Willie might be ready for a solo sitdown.
