After about an hour braving the storm in the tents, we made our way to a nearby McDonald’s on Broadway where we encountered about 60 protesters taking refuge from the cold. In the vestibule, a crowd smoked cigarettes.

Wait a minute, didn't King Bloomberg outlaw smoking? How is it these lowlifes get to smoke in a McDonald's vestibule?

A McDonald’s employee struggled to keep the protesters out of an upstairs area of the restaurant that was closed. She declined to give her name or comment on record, but we asked if she was enjoying the increased business that came with the protests. She shook her head.

“They’re harassing me, threatening me. … Other states are closing down, why can’t we?” she asked.

A woman performing more work in one day than all these people combined the past six weeks and she's got to suffer these thugs.

While the left shower sympathy and plaudits on these marauders, a woman working at a McDonald's, and every other decent working person around there, have to suffer.

A pair of men began to scuffle in the restaurant.

“Why don’t you mind you’re [sic] own business?” one said.

Another man called out inviting people to another location.

“Please come to 60 Wall Street,” he shouted.

Using the call and response style of the “people’s microphone” that has become another signature of the Occupy Wall Street protest movement, another man repeated the invitation. We asked him what was happening at 60 Wall Street.

“It’s a warm place that’s bigger than this,” he said.

“Please go there,” said the woman from McDonald’s.

Please, just go somewhere, back to whatever miserable lives you were already living.

Miami ICE Chief Busted With Kiddie Porn

When you aggressively make a name for yourself campaigning against child pornography, it might not be a good idea to be downloading such images yourself. Not the best career move, especially when you were about to retire.

The head of Immigration and Customs Enforcement for South Florida has been placed on paid administrative leave, as federal agents investigate four images of child pornography he allegedly received on his home computer via an AOL e-mail account, according to sources familiar with the probe.

Broward Sheriff’s Office and FBI investigators seized Anthony V. Mangione’s computer from his Parkland residence Saturday after obtaining a search warrant based on an alert from AOL, Mangione’s Internet service provider. Sources said Mangione, 50, who has headed the ICE regional office since 2007, was not believed to have received the pictures in connection with any ICE investigation.

The Justice Department probe could take a while to complete as investigators determine whether Mangione sent, received or distributed illegal digital images of children. “It’s going to take some time forensically to examine the computer,” a federal law enforcement official said.

AOL, which monitors the distribution of child pornography by its users, alerted a national nonprofit resource center about the images allegedly sent to Mangione’s computer in recent weeks, sources said. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children then forwarded the information to a multi-agency task force that investigates child-porn distribution over the Internet.

Investigators issued a subpoena to AOL to find out the identity and computer address of the account user who allegedly received the four images, sources said. The information provided the legal basis for the FBI to obtain the search warrant to enter Mangione’s home and seize his computer. Authorities also have seized his computer from ICE’s office in west Miami-Dade.

Age of Civility Dawns: Westboro Goons Won't Protest Child's Funeral in AZ in Exchange for Radio Air Time

Anyway, these repulsive creatures have come along and tried to inject themselves into the Arizona story. But now that the new Age of Civility commences, they've decided to avoid getting beaten down in the streets of a child's funeral in Tucson in exchange for some radio air time. How magnanimous of them.

In exchange for getting some radio time to air their controversial views, the Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kan., has abandoned plans to picket 9-year-old Tucson shooting victim Christina Tayler Green's funeral.

Shirley Phelps-Roper of the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka first told the Topeka Capital-Journal that church members will skip Green's Thursday funeral in Tucson.

Phelps-Roper says the church has been given airtime with 102.1 The Edge in Toronto, Canada and an interview with KXXT-AM in Phoenix, Ariz. on Saturday morning.

Still, they drive a hard bargain. Protests are still planned.

Phelps-Roper says the group still will picket the Friday funeral of U.S. District Judge John Roll and at the intersection where Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and others were shot.

I hope the decent among the locals show up to air their own voices.

Shameful: Bloomberg and His Hacks Rigged Ground Zero Mosque Approval

This disgusting behavior should really help the tyrant Michael Bloomberg in the presidential bid he swears he's not pursuing.

Mayor Bloomberg's top deputies went to great lengths to help the developers of a planned mosque near Ground Zero - even drafting a letter to the community board for them.

A flurry of emails released by City Hall yesterday revealed the coaching Hizzoner's brass gave to the imam pushing to build the mosque, Feisal Abdul Rauf.

At one point, Community Affairs Commissioner Nazli Parvizi even drafted a letter for Rauf's wife, Daisy Khan, to send to Community Board 1, which was voting on the project.

"As a Muslim-American and a New Yorker, I take my role in keeping New York the greatest City in the world serious," the draft said. Parvizi also provided the contact information for the board.

Another email shows that Immigrant Affairs Commissioner Fatima Shama expedited a temporary public assembly permit for the group to conduct prayers in January at the site, known as 51 Park.

Of course if you found any of this objectionable Bloomberg tripped over himself to call you an Islamophobic racist bigot. What's obvious to everyone:

But one critic of the mosque charged that the emails prove that backers rigged the public approval process.

"They were in cahoots all along," steamed Andy Sullivan, a Queens construction worker and vocal mosque critic.

How much was Bloomberg in the tank?

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said the documents show the city was an active proponent of the project.

"The mayor's office was at the beck and call of the ground zero mosque folks," Fitton said. "He obviously feels strongly about it, but he shouldn't turn the taxpayers of New York into advocates for this group."

At some point Bloomberg may have to toss someone under the bus. We offer a sacrificial lamb.

In another letter, Shama congratulated the group after the project was approved by CB1's finance committee, writing,

And the team behind Park51 was grateful to the mayor's team for all of their help.

Wrote el-Gamal to his cohorts,

"Just spoke to Commissioner Nazli Parvizi.She will call Julie Mennon [sic] to thank them for passing the resolution and ask how she can assist. She knows the folks at the tribute center and will put us in touch with them as well."

Such a cozy relationship a thug like El-Gamal has with the mayor, isn't it?

By the way, few media accounts will note it, but it was Judicial Watch that forced Bloomberg's hand.

E-mails released by the city Thursday document the cooperation between Bloomberg's Community Affairs Unit and the Cordoba Initiative, even as a furor erupted this year over the center's proposed existence two blocks north of ground zero. The city released the documents in response to a public-records lawsuit by Judicial Watch, a conservative group.

Bloomberg's spokesman said the city has extended similar help to other religious groups. But Judicial Watch says the e-mails show the city government went too far with its assistance.

Judicial Watch had to sue for the release of these e-mails. Obviously Bloomberg and his hacks had plenty to hide after evading for several months.

Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, announced today that it has filed a petition with the New York State Supreme Court to compel New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s office to comply with a Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) request regarding contacts between the Mayor’s office, Ground Zero Mosque Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, and controversial Muslim organizations. Judicial Watch is seeking the following information pursuant to its open records request filed on August 9, 2010:

a. All records of communication between the Office of the Mayor and Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf concerning the Cordoba Initiative’s proposed Cordoba House project.

b. All records of communication between the Office of Mayor Bloomberg and any of the following entities:

1. Council of American-Islamic Relations (CAIR);
2. Islamic Society of North America (ISNA);
3. International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT);
4. American Society for Muslim Advancement (ASMA);
5. American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC);
6. Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC).

On August 19, 2010, Mayor Bloomberg’s office acknowledged receipt of the request and indicated a response would be forthcoming in 20 days. After the Mayor’s office failed to respond by its self-imposed deadline and to a subsequent administrative appeal, Judicial Watch filed its petition with the New York Supreme Court.

Classy: Westboro Lunatics to Protest at Elizabeth Edwards Funeral

I've long stopped being sickened by these freaks at military funerals, but really, what's the point of this. Haven't her children suffered enough between the shenanigans of their lowlife father and what their mother has gone through? Have a bit of decency for once.

The Westboro Baptist Church, a Kansas church famous for its anti-homosexual protests at funerals, said it plans to protest at the funeral of Elizabeth Edwards on Saturday.

The church plans to protest for 45 minutes before the funeral starts at 1 p.m., according to the church's website.

The church did not provide a specific reason for the protest.

Because, well, what reason could there be? She stood up for gay rights or something?

Gee, you think it was a good idea to call your opponent a member of the Taliban?

Editorial boards have excoriated Grayson for taking Webster’s words grossly out of context by rolling footage of Webster saying “she should submit to me,” when Webster had actually warned husbands against that advice. As one Republican noted, painting Webster as anti-woman is a curious line of attack considering Grayson referred to a lobbyist as a “K Street whore” just last year.

Calling someone a whore? Seems to be a lot of that going around in Democrat circles. Why do Democrats hate women so much?

Worst Person in the World

It took the Rocky River community and school district a while to raise $120,000 for 12-year-old Sabreen Haq.

She was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and dying wish was to have a home instead of an apartment, where she could live with her family. She wanted her own bedroom for the first time in her young life.

Her mother, Maysoon, gave the money to her cousin, 35-year-old Hamza Abuhamdeh because he had extensive knowledge about rental property and buying homes.

Police said Abuhamdeh bought the family a home in North Olmsted, but he never let them move in. Instead, he rented out the house to another family. Police said he also put the home in his name and not Maysoon's.

Police said they tried to get him to either give the money back or let Maysoon's family move into the home, but Abuhamdeh only came up with $30,000.

The Make a Wish organization stepped in and sent Sabreen and her family to Disney World, but shortly after, she passed away.

She never got to see her new home or have that bedroom she wished for.

There's a special place in hell for this guy.

Decrepit Democrat Hero Spotted in Public

Fidel Castro, who hasn't been photographed in public in four years, made a rare cameo Saturday when he showed up in a white tracksuit at a Havana think tank, the Associated Press reported.

Castro, 83, has not been spotted out and about since falling seriously ill in 2006.

Though Cuba has released a few official photos of the former leader sporadically since then, those images have only pictured him in private meetings - most recently in February when he met with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula de Silva.

Saturday's photos were said to be taken during a visit to the National Center for Scientific Investigation in Havana, and were first published on the blogs of two Cuban reporters.

The first four photos that emerged from Castro's visit were said to be taken by a worker at the Center on his cell phone, the AP reported.

"He is thin but he looks good, and according to our director, he is very good mentally," the worker wrote in a comment accompanying the photos.

'Go Away, Terrorist!'

Doesn't seem like the Peruvians are exactly thrilled to have convicted terrorist Lori Berenson out living among them. Of course according to the Associated Press this poor misguided naif isn't a terrorist.

She's an activist. The alternate reality of the media really is something to behold. Mainstream Americans of right-of-center persuasion are typically maligned as frothing "extremists" while actual terrorists are known as activists. And they wonder why people hold them in such contempt. At least the Peruvian people know a terrorist when they see one.

Activist Lori Berenson walked out of prison smiling Thursday but got a chilly reception from her new neighbors after serving three-quarters of a 20-year sentence for aiding leftist rebels.

Now 40, the New Yorker spent more than a third of her life behind bars — getting married, giving birth, undergoing back surgery — but never denouncing the Tupac Amaru Revolutionary Movement she was convicted of abetting.

When she was arrested in November 1995 with the wife of the group's leader, prosecutors said Berenson was helping it plot a takeover of Peru's Congress that never happened. The following month, police found a forged ID card bearing her photo in a raid on a rebel safe house.

But Berenson apparently became less strident over the years, many of them spent in frigid prisons in the high Andes. Documents her defense team provided to the judge who granted her parole Tuesday said Berenson had "recognized she committed errors" getting involved with the rebels.

If she's recognized her errors, then why is she going to work for a far-left, America-hating group?

A year after Berenson's arrest, the Tupac Amaru gained notoriety when 13 of its members stormed the Japanese ambassador's residents and seized hostages. Among their demands was Berenson's release. The standoff ended 126 days later with all the rebels killed.

Berenson's release Thursday from Santa Monica women's prison was a tempest in itself. She squeezed through a horde of reporters into a car driven by her husband and attorney, Anibal Apari, to be driven to the Lima apartment where she is to reside.

Two Peruvian reporters jumped into the car, which had a minor collision a block away with a TV channel's vehicle.

Their couple's son, Salvador, who has been living with his mother since his birth a year ago, was taken to the apartment separately by Berenson's parents, who flew in from New York City on Wednesday.

The judge who granted Berenson parole said she must stay in Lima until her sentence ends in November 2015. But Peru's justice minister, Victor Garcia, told the Radioprogramas network Thursday that the Cabinet could decide to commute the sentence and expel Berenson.

"This is a really nasty situation for Peruvians," Garcia said, suggesting the government was not necessarily pleased Berenson had been paroled. President Alan Garcia said Tuesday that it was not his place to comment on whether he considered the judge's decision appropriate.

It was unclear whether any other legal problems could complicate Berenson's eventual return to the United States. U.S. Embassy spokesman James Fennell said he could not comment on the case due to privacy laws.

Many Peruvians were unhappy with Berenson's release.

"Go away, terrorist!" shouted 42-year-old Carol Philips as Berenson and Apari pushed their way through a throng of journalists to get into the apartment building in the upscale Miraflores neighborhood where Berenson is to live.

Her parents told The Associated Press they came not just for the joy of their daughter's release but also to help childproof the apartment.

"I don't know whose idea it was to put this terrorist here as a neighbor," said another neighbor, Rene Vela.

Berenson appeared calm, almost bemused, as she sat for some five minutes in the Apari's car outside the apartment. She wore dangling bead earrings, a khaki green button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up and carried a black bag with blue straps.

She did not speak to reporters.

The Miraflores district mayor, Manuel Macias, told reporters Berenson should find a home elsewhere.

"The way out of this perhaps is for her expulsion from the country," he said.

The judge who paroled Berenson said she had "completed re-education, rehabilitation and re-socialization" and demonstrated "positive behavior."

Berenson has long maintained she was a political prisoner and not a terrorist. She shouted to reporters in her first public appearance after her November 1995 arrest: "There are no criminal terrorists in the MRTA. It is a revolutionary movement."

No doubt when this maggot returns to America she'll be feted on the talk-show and lecture circuits and will be eagerly courted by publishers.

They should have executed her 15 years ago.

US Senate candidate Richard Blumenthal has been caught yet again insinuating he served in Vietnam when he never set foot there.

The latest embarrassment to the once-soaring Connecticut Democratic hopeful comes from the archives of the Milford Mirror, a weekly paper.

While addressing a crowd at a 2007 Memorial Day parade -- which included the family of a Marine killed in Iraq -- Blumenthal said, "In Vietnam, we had to endure taunts and insults, and no one said, welcome home."

The Democrat added, "I say, welcome home."

In fact, Blumenthal had never served in Vietnam.

So naturally the Democrats last night endorsed this pathological liar.

Despite the revelations, state Democrats gave Blumenthal their endorsement last night to run for the seat vacated by Chris Dodd, who is retiring.

The White House also never met a serial fantasist they wouldn't embrace. After all, there's one playing the role of president these days. We'll be sure to remind them of this when eventually Blumenthal becomes a liability and is thrown under the bus.

The White House is standing by Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, who admitted this week to having misstated his military service on some occasions, but insisted he never intentionally meant to claim he had served in Vietnam.

The controversy had threatened to derail Blumenthal’s campaign for U.S. Senate to replace retiring Democratic Sen. Chris Dodd.

When asked about Blumenthal today, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said Blumenthal had “our continued support.’’

HuffPost Trolls For Reaction to Obama Win, Invents Quotes from 'Right-Wing Reaction'

I guess I should be flattered those towering intellects over at the Huffington Post cesspool have noticed a lowly "right-wing" blogger like me, but I must take umbrage when some unknown non-entity I've never heard of plays it cute by fabricating a quote and assigning it to me, and does the same with a wide variety of "right-wing" bloggers. Sure, he'll claim it's satire or whatever, but he completely misrepresents the entire relevance and tone of my post, which was a strict opinion piece this morning reflecting on the elections and the fallout for the GOP and what could happen with the Democrats. I guess being gracious, congratulating Barack Obama and offering my opinion was more than he could take.

I'll quote from my update to the original before I opine further.

Update: I see some alleged "journalist" from the Huffington Post has invented a quote and linked here. Having read the above, I would like to know where I was being anything more than gracious to Barack Obama. Here is the "quote" from the HuffPost cub reporter Jason Linkins:

Well, Jason, here's what I said, in case your readers were inclined to think otherwise.

So having thought about my opinions from this morning, I wouldn't change a thing. Except maybe for this: I might be gracious to my political opponents when they win, but they should never forget that I also want to win, and they better be ready for the next contest. That's life, that's politics, and that's any endeavor you ever engage in.

But when some slimy cocksucker from an Internet hate site thinks he can just drive by and completely misrepresent what I say and pretend to quote me then I need to remind him, and the rest of the "left-wing" bloggers out there that have spent eight years engaging in the ugliest smears and bile imaginable, that payback is really going to suck for you guys.

I tried to be conciliatory, offered my advice, and it took less than 12 hours for some putrid worm to throw it back in my face. Well, it's on. You're on defense now. Get ready for the onslaught.

Barack Obama will be my president and I wish him well. I hope he surprises me and governs more to my liking. Though I suspect he will not and I will be free to criticize him as I please. Now the Jason Linkins of the world will discover that freedom of the press means we conservatives also have the right to practice what he and his ilk have engaged in since the Florida recount.
